Ordered thousands of dollars of material from them and they consistently under-delivered on gravel, mulch, & pavers. Al lied when called & said he delivered what was promised. AJT may be able to lie about how many yards are delivered to people who can't tell (I could eye it out from experience as a landscape contractor) but how do you lie about underdelivering on PAVERS!? I can literally count them. I had to order more from a separate company. The WORST part - this is literally disgusting: there was HUMAN FECES in my woodchips I ordered. I was shoveling them while smelling something foul the whole time - then I see some white toilet-paper material smeared with brown stuff. I smelled it and it was human poop. Someone literally wiped their butt and threw it into the woodchips before delivery - they could've just taken a dump straight into the woodchips for all I know as it smelled disgusting. I should've taken a picture but was too disgusted to think of that. Never used them again & I advise everyone else to stay away. Shady business. read more

God Damn rip off....... I have ordered the same amount of mulch from this company for years, 7 yards. And I have always had more than enough. I recently removed three mulch beds, and ordered 6 yards. It only covered 75% of my property. Called and explained to them, no one cared. Had to order another 4 yards. Never have I needed this much mulch before. They do not give you what you paid for, they under measure and short your delivery. Also, they quote 'free delivery' but they charge you $8 fuel surcharge fee. Not so free huh. and I am only 1.4 miles from them. Doesn't cost $8 in gas to get here. They waived it on the second delivery, but are refusing to answer my emails demanding a refund of my first $8 charge. Even emailed the President of the company Albert Todesca (albert3@ajtsupplies.com) and still got no response. Real professional. Stay away from this company. Never again............ Just moved to this area and contacted AJT for firewood. Ordering was done over phone and service, scheduling and delivery were perfect. Wood was left right where we had asked and on time - quantity also matched order (1/2 cord) Small issue made clear while stacking wood was that wood was definitely stored near other products (mulch etc) or delivered on truck with previous materials - so a few wheelbarrows of debris needed cleaning off driveway. Biggest issue was seasoning of product. Large heavy pieces - some huge improperly split logs made up half of the delivery - have been splitting some myself 1 or 2 more times in hope to get something usable. Struggle every fire to get them to burn - typical "hiss" of wet wood evident when i get a fire burning , always needing starters and supplementing with store bought logs. Meter reading 40% on most, 50%+ on others. Before review contacted AJT who quickly left message to review order and fix issue with product more in line with their claim of "seasoned firewood" - have not heard anything after several followup attempts. Wish I had read other reviews earlier, seems like a decent business - just wouldn't recommend firewood from them - at least not this late in season. read more

A day before my kids party and I couldn't find anything to match my kids party so i just gave up. When I seen ajt on my Facebook I thought no way they have Mickey and Disney princesses on one, but sure enough it was there. Purchased a hot tub labor day weekend and needed a stone base quick! Called many masonry companies and they were either closed before 5pm or did not have delivery options that fit our schedule. AJT was luckily open after five! They were able to deliver us the crushed stone we needed and wheel barrel it into our back yard and stamp in all with a very small window of time. Albert (the owner) called us personally to reassure everything was going to work out as scheduled. The crew showed up on a Thursday afternoon and stayed until a huge thunderstorm moved in then were back first thing in the morning to finish the project. I have been a long time customer of AJT, buying compost, mulch and fire wood. They always claim to stand behind their product. This year we ordered 3 yards of compost. It was not compost we received, it was chopped up leaves. I called to explain, the person i spoke to apologized and said they will pick it up tomorrow and deliver 3 new yards of compost. When it did not arrive, I called again, and was told the same thing. That too did not arrive so I called again and told the same thing. When that did not arrive I called again but this time I was told I needed to speak to the owner Albert. Albert told me he will take away the 3 yards of compost and deliver me 2 new yards. I argued that I bought 3 yards. Albert then said I can keep this bad compost and mix in the new 2 yards compost. Again, I want what I paid for, quality compost. As of today, AJT has done nothing for me! I still have the bad compost and they are not standing behind their product. They have not tried to fix this situation and have not delivered any new compost. I have never been so disappointed with a company, especially since I have been buying from them for years! read more

Had a cord of wood delivered by this company in November. I've been ordering seasoned wood for 13 years and this is the first time the wood has been impossible to burn. When I called and asked how long the wood had been seasoned they said two years. This wood was likely cut six months ago... It's heavy, the bark does not come off, it smells and it is impossible to burn. When I spoke to Al on the phone, he basically told me I was wrong. But then said he would bring some dry wood to mix in with the wet wood. That was three weeks ago and he never brought any wood. Disappointing. read more

After my initial review regarding the issue of not receiving the amount of fill I ordered, I received a call from the owner. He asked what he could do to make it right. I typically order mulch and the owner said he would make up the difference from the fill quantity error and deliver mulch to make up the difference. I agreed with that solution, and the mulch was delivered within 30 minutes of our conversation. AJT did step up to fix the problem. Most ridiculous experience EVER. Didn't show up on the scheduled day after we took off work to meet them. Showed up the next day hours late with not enough pavers to do the job and no sealer!! We called the owner multiple times and all he had was a bad attitude and excuses. I will say that the installers were very nice and despite the owner telling them to leave our job unfinished to go to another, they stayed and did a great job. Absolutely horrible- every aspect. I was promised deliver at 10am. They came at 4pm, after multiple calls. Then their truck caught on fire in the driveway. The driver ran off so I was left with the choice of having this truck burn to the ground in my driveway, or try to put it out. I turned on the garden house and got it out. This fire left behind a huge black spot in my driveway. Then the fire was out, but their was too much rock in the truck for the dump to lift. So the driver shoveled for 15 minutes, then I helped him for an additional 15 minutes shovel out enough rock for the dump to work. I then used their website to complain about all this and never heard back. I followed up and again asked for a response- which never came. This business is the worst, avoid them like the plague. read more

We ordered 4 yards of mulch and called back to mention the coupon for the "Buy one yard Get One Yard Half Off" offer, but they wouldn't honor this and offered only another yard. They should have offered two more yards. We called again on a Friday for topsoil and was told they can deliver on Saturday the next day, but they said they may need to delay delivery to another day due to traffic or something. They did say they could deliver by 11 am. That Saturday morning they called to say they only had one working truck to make deliveries that day and that they need to reschedule because they had lots of deliveries instead of delivery by 11 am. I explained that we already have people to help us with the the topsoil and are waiting for this delivery. They apologized and said they will talk to the driver. They did come after 1 pm to deliver the topsoil. Their price is reasonable and so is the free delivery. Two of my neighbors have come to ask us for the company name and wants to order from AJT. read more

DISHONEST, SHORTSIGHTED AND POMPOUS! Like Shanar's review I wish there was a zero star option. I placed an ordered of a yard of crushed stone last fall, and they charged me a fuel cost even though I live a block away from them. After delivery two different contractors told me they short changed me on the amount of stone they dropped. When I asked for more stone or a little money back they told me that it was not in their policy to do either. They then said they would we give me a break on my next order. Once I explained that I would never place a second order, after I was unsatisfied with the first, they shrugged their shoulders. The entire experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. I was planning on using them for a fire pit and patio this spring but would never give them a dime now. They lost a lot of business for what could have been a $20 refund. Dumb, dumb, dumb. read more

I had ordered mulch and stone. I went in close to the closing time on Friday. They accommodated me and delivered both within an hour.

Beware!! If I could leave a zero, instead of 1 star, I would. I ordered 10 yards of screened loam from AJT. Instead of receiving loam to use for new grass, I received only 8 yards of rocks, with very little dirt. I immediately sent the owner pictures and he promised to come by and take a look. He never came by. He offered to deliver an additional 4 yards, but when that product came, it was no better than the first delivery. I expect that screened loam will have some small stones and will require raking, but this product had 4" rocks and actual pieces of asphalt. It was an inferior product. He refused to respond to calls or text messages. When I disputed the credit card charge, he actually started spamming me with text messages and had the nerve to say that I was threatening a small business owner. He finally promised to issue a 50% discount, but of course, that never happened and now I'm filing another complaint. This guy is dishonest and unreliable. Great service via phone and they fit my 4 yard delivery in same day twice now. Will be using again. Quick edit: just scrolled down to see other reviews before posting mine and it looks like others have had bad experiences. I have recommended these guys to a friend, without issue that I know of. Hope it's just isolated or fake reviews.
