In short I ordered wood, and the product online said it was seasoned and ready to burn. it was delivered and it didn't burn ended up spending more money because we had to use the electric since the wood wasn't dry and wouldn't burn. I bought a half cord from them and I was told moisture content would be 20% or lower. When it arrived it was dumped out covered in dirt and grime and was all wet, it also smelled like cow manure and still does to this day. I can't even store any wood in my garage because of the smell. The wood was up to 40% moisture content and I can't even burn it, it's pathetic that they lied about the wood they sold. I will never buy firewood from this place again. I called and notified the. Of the issues I had and I was told I could have a future credit on wood. What good is the credit when the product is bad and I will not be a future customer. read more

Well, I am disappointed in the "compost" received from AJT. The woman was very nice on the phone and said the compost came from a farm and is organic. My husband went to pick it up and brought four 20 gallon tubs to fill. The staff filled the tubs. If I had been there, I would have said no. The dirt was sopping wet and seemed like mud. I dried some out in the house and it turned very hard. Almost cement like. I did a test and planted pea seeds in potting mix and also in half potting mix, half this stuff and the peas in the half half mix did not germinate. If you can believe a ph meter it read in the 3.3 to 3.8 range. This is not compost. If it wasn't such a PIA to bring it back I would. Perhaps they shoveled out of the wrong bin? read more

On the phone I asked if it was seasoned wood and it was not entirely they said (fair enough, it is February). Ordered half a cord of hardwood. One cord is normally about 3 face cords. After stacking it I found it to measure nearly 2 face cords so more than the 1.5 face cord I was expecting. The wood was heavy and it didn't ignite super fast. There was quite a bit of hissing but after an hour or so with some kindling wood l the fire was burning slow and steady. Good deal. Since the ad online and price was for seasoned wood but they they didn't have seasoned made me give it 4 out of 5 stars, but high is good in my book. read more

Spend the extra money and buy your firewood from Thayer. I bought a cord of kiln dried wood and it was still sizzling while burning (and by burning, I mean smoking). I called to ask about their drying process and they said they would send someone out to test the wood. No call and no show. I called again and they told me they would send someone the following day. I ordered two cords of "seasoned" firewood from AJT and easily half of the wood received was heavy soaking wet dark wood. The other half is not fully seasoned and hisses when burned. The delivery also included about two cubic yards of sawdust, bark and other castoff materials. I sent an email and called and was assured they would send dry wood to make up for this but after almost three weeks there has been zero follow up. Buyer beware! read more

I needed to get several yards of screened loam on my residential lot in time for some overseeding and tending to bare spots this fall and was concerned about timing delivery for the weekend and rain forecasted and AJT Supplies delivered on time as promised and loam was of very good quality ... and now have a healthier and better looking lawn as a result ... and did not break my back shuttling back and forth to Home Depot or Lowes for bags of loam. read more

Awful. AJT Supplies did $1200 worth of masonry work for my mother and her upstairs neighbor. It took several visits and cancellations to finally get it done. The work fell apart in less than a year and the owner's response was "a snow plow hit it," even though there is no damage to the actual bricks; just cracked mortar and obvious poor craftsmanship (not to mention he didn't even come out to look; all he did was look at a picture). Guaranteed the work for life and did not even back it up. Stay away. UPDATE: The owner sent a message saying someone would come out to fix it. Nobody ever did, there was no follow up, and someone else had to do the repair. read more

After that, you are on your own.... Wrong deliveries, wrong place, sub par material, late (just by 5 days! ) etc etc, and the list goes on... You'll most likely will have to call them multiple times and each time, they'll assure you or re-assure you that everything will be OK, only for you to have to call them again. If you leave a message, do not expect a return call or a return email. After the facts I also discovered the following: They boast an A+ rating from the BBB on their website, but it's as of "2012" They have now an "F" How do you call someone that keeps a 3 yrs old perfect score on their website when they have in fact an actual "F"? (Aug 20, 2015) That alone lets you imagine the level of integrity of this company. The only good point was that, if you plan on growing weeds, they loam will surpass any expectation you may have: you'll have the whole collection. If you plan on planting grass, you'll have to Napalm your yard fist to sterilize the loam and kill the weeds. Avoid at any cost. read more

Called for a new deck, fire pit and some minor landscaping The deck is awesome , excellent construction and quality just what I asked for. Fire pit came out great too 12' round both of these things done in about 4-5 days They removed a large cement step which attached to the house . This exposed a medium sized hole in the basement crawl space - they left the hole in my basement without repair even after 27 YES 27 calls to fix and finish the landscaping job. The final call was after a week of great weather to have them literally finish spreading grass seed on the lawn After hearing them whine that it was only a $40 bag of seed they sent a group of 3 men to piss poorly spread the seed across some if the lawn Hey AJT you should know that more people speak Spanish so the next time your workers tell us to " suck it " you can remind them that's not good customer service and we know spanish too. I wish I'd read these negative reviews before selecting AJT to do our patio last fall. I had a very similar, negative experience. We went in to AJT showroom in August. They were professional, sold us very well. Had wonderful product samples. So we booked them to do our patio. We were told they would finish late September. Perfect for us. We'd enjoy Friday night football fires for the rest of the season. Basically, AJT would not show up. They would tell us they were showing up, and no one would come. Over and over. They had our deposit. I called Al, the owner at 8:30 on a morning they were supposed to come at 8 and was told they were literally "on the way". They were not. Blew my mind that the owner would straight up lie to a customer. We were getting really nervous because AJT had our deposit. I googled them and found these reviews. When I managed to get hold of Al again I mentioned the reviews and he laughed and said "they mean nothing, I can get all of the reviews I want." Finally, after they began working Al came to the house because they wanted the rest of their money. I couldn't resist. I had to ask about Al telling me the crew was on the way and not showing. He laughed and said "ya, right around the corner, be right there." Really shows how he feels about his customers. Thankfully my husband withheld payment until the work was done. Long story short, they finished the third week in November. We had to fight to get them to come. The work looks decent, however now that spring has come and we're beginning to use it we realize they didn't do it tightly as promised and put down a weed barrier because weeds are coming through. We also saw that they threw excess materials, Dunkins cups, food wrappers, cigarette butts into our woods. There are plenty of really good masons out there. Use one of them. AJT is not a reputable, trustworthy outfit. read more

Ordered a cord of wood 2 weeks ago. Their ad said fully seasoned and the person in the phone confirmed that when I ordered. Wood does not burn in my insert at all. I split a few pieces and used my trusty meter and it read...you ready for this? Over 40% moisture content! To top it off, it is red oak, which is a pungent and stinky wood. Since red oak burns long and hot, I would have overlooked the stink if it were seasoned. This species of wood is notorious for taking a long time to season so in another couple of years I'll have some good wood. Shame on AJT supplies. I wasted $300 and my racks are now taken up so when I do get good wood (that I now have to pay more for) I have to figure out where to stack it. This is not a good place. read more

Ordered a cord of seasoned wood. It was definitely close to a cord, just under. It was mostly hard wood with probably 30 filler pieces of spruce. I was happy at delivery. Two weeks later the wood would not burn. Green as could be. Took the moisture content of 20 pieces. All over 65%. I would buy from them again but in April and not October. read more
