    Two sandwiches, potato, and drink
    Vee R.

This was our first visit to aka Friscos, and we stopped in on a Sunday afternoon as the first customers of the day. The menu is HUGE, so many options to choose from! It definitely took us a little longer than the regulars to decide what to try, but that's only because everything looked so good. We ended up ordering a couple of sandwiches and one of their signature potatoes. The food was freshly prepared and came out pretty quickly. I tried the Alcatraz sandwich--while the ingredients were fresh and flavorful, I wish I had asked for a different type of bread. I'm not the biggest fan of white bread, and it started to fall apart a bit while I was eating it. My husband had the roast beef sandwich and a potato, and he really enjoyed both. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, the food was fresh, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We're looking forward to coming back and trying more from their menu. Definitely a spot worth revisiting!

We stopped in for a quick bite to eat after exploring the town of Frederick while visiting family. We decided on sandwiches and this had pretty good reviews. The menu is extensive and slightly overwhelming but there's something for everyone. Whether you want a hot or cold sandwich, a salad or a cup of soup. They have a little bit of everything. We ordered the Fatboy and a cup of white chicken chili. It was plenty for two people to split. We even went back for an extra cup of chili. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of seating inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And you can even shop next-door for a beer or wine to go with your Sandwich. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We love the vibe of this place and wish we had it back at home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Still THE BEST Sandwich place in Frederick! The freshest ingredients piled high on delicious bread. Fast service. When you look at the pic take note that this is HALF of a sandwich; best bud had the other half. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They changed out the tables and chairs. The new ones look nicer but we miss the old swivel chairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

a.k.a. Friscos is a cool sandwich shop located amongst office complexes in Frederick, MD. The restaurant offers a variety of sandwiches, salads, sides and craft beers. The giant subs are named after locations in the San Francisco/Bay Area. I ordered the Trans-Am (named after the famous Transamerica Building. It's Friscos' take on a club sandwich, and it was incredible. I ordered half of a sandwich and it was more than filling. The staff is friendly and attentive and will answer any questions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is not a lot of seating inside the restaurant, but plenty is outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't worry, the outdoor seating is covered, so you don't have to worry about melting in the sun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're in the Frederick area and in the mood for a different type of sub shop, give a.k.a. Friscos a try!

What a hidden gem located in what looks more of an industrial park. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great atmosphere, tons of selection and our food was excellent![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also not pictured the steak potato!

Nothing not to love here at all. Incredibly imaginative and diverse menu of enormous sandwiches, salads and innovative variations on baked potato toppings. What they do, they do with supreme excellence. Pricing is most fair considering the generosity of the serving sizes; definitely a place to share a plate and not to feel bad about it. The "West of Santa Fe" salad hits the sweet spot of what they are best at; Tex-Mex and California cuisine with an upscale feel. Good selection of craft beers too for happy hour or maybe an early dinner before a Frederick Keys game, as we have done many times in the past. Don't let the business park location and industrial feel fool you. Very obviously the restaurant is run by foodies. One note: sub-optimal place for a business lunch or for (say) senior citizens despite the great accessibility: its austere and thus, loud inside. One can come back here dozens of times and not be bored.

Had a fantastic lunch experience at AKA Friscos yesterday. The turkey sandwiches were awesome, as was the Chili. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Food came out in under :15 mins. The sandwiches were fully stuffed with meat - I could only eat half of it. Highly recommend.

Great service and amazing food! We got 3 Alcatraz sandwiches, 1 trans-am sandwich, and 1 lomabard sandwich along with chili, Mac and cheese, and exploding potatoes. My personal favorite was the Alcatraz sandwich which tasted clean and the sauce really made the sandwich for me. Also I really enjoyed the exploding potatoes! Loved the atmosphere and helpful staff!

This place has really good sandwiches! I have come here a few times but to be honest the menu could use some updating. Sometimes less is more that way the focus can be on making things great and not hustle good. The mac & cheese needs seasoning it's nice to have all the cheese but seasoning is a must. I loves all the craft beer options and that there is a store attached. The young lady that took my order didn't seem like she wanted to be there but took our order. She failed to inform me where i would get the other kids meal goods(cookie, drink) and the cashier didn't informed me either. To be honest, I didn't have a horrible experience if it was OK it just needs some seasoning when it comes to the macaroni and cheese. There weren't many people in the restaurant, but overall it was very clean and things were in order. I would visit again

What an amazing Gem in Frederick, MD. If you are in the area and want something unique and fun. A.k.a Frisco's is a must! The service was amazing. Everyone was accommodating and offered anything we needed to have a good time! The employees were all in a good mood. Ambiance was chill with good vibes all around. The place got busy around dinner time but the staff turned around orders quickly. Food was great. We were famished and went with carbs. My daughters went with the kids Mac. We got a pizza to share and two loaded potatoes. Although the sandwich with sprouts looked amazing! We will be back whenever we are in Frederick. Easy 5 stars!

We usually get take out but I recently ate in and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Customer service is always on point - courteous and always willing to help you find the meal you want. My personal favorite is the Alcatraz sandwich - fresh sourdough, turkey, avocado, and sprouts! So yummy! This place is a staple for our out of town guests!!

She was apologetic for the wait and seemed genuinely embarrassed, but we assured her that it was ok and it wasn't her fault. Once we were seated we were greeted by our waiter, Jose. This guy was a rock-star! Customer service was top-notch, and he was extremely friendly. I ordered a plate of Loaded Cheese Fries to share with my son, as we weren't very hungry. When the food was brought to our table it was hot and delicious, but the fries cooled down fast and became stale-feeling. But, to be fair, I suppose that's what happens when you load refrigerated dairy producted on top of hot fries! The men's bathroom was very clean and well kept, and the booth seats were very soft and comfortable. Other than the fries cooling down way too quickly, I have zero complaints and would recommend this location to my friends and family!

It is not a lot of food and it is $20, but we both thought it was worth it to come back to eat it again. The other dishes we ordered were good, but the most memorable was the deviled eggs. I liked how they had a leaderboard for frequent customers though. That was cool to just stare at. The location has parking on the rocks and it was full by 6 pm on a Thursday. Unfortunately, the service never matched the occasion. Our server never introduced themselves or acknowledged either celebration. They began taking orders without any engagement, and throughout the meal we were repeatedly unable to get their attention. I understand Sunday brunch is busy, but I work in a concierge-driven environment and was genuinely disappointed by the lack of hospitality. The food was mixed. The chicken and waffles and the omelet were good. My husband's steak was cold and the portion was very small. He ordered French fries but received unseasoned potatoes that lacked any flavor. My fish and chips were fine but also lacked seasoning, lemon, or any attention to detail. I specifically requested fries without Old Bay but received fries heavily coated in it. We also ordered a steak and eggs meal to go, which took about 30 minutes. When it was opened later, it contained only three small slices of steak. My brother-in-law genuinely thought he had been given someone's leftovers because the portion was so disappointing. My husband quietly paid the $300 bill while I still hoped someone might acknowledge the birthday or retirement with a simple mention, smile, or thank you. It never happened. We were never even offered a desert menu. We left without a goodbye or any acknowledgment from the staff. Disappointed doesn't begin to describe how we felt. It was our first year of dating anniversary but we failed to notice when looking the place up that they closed at 7:30pm. We walked in at about 7:40pm and the bartender regretfully informed us that they had just closed. We accepted the situation for the error it was on our part and opted to go elsewhere. So barely 3 minutes after walking up to the entrance, we were heading back to our truck. The chefs were still there and immediately asked us why we weren't staying to eat. When we explained that we hadn't realized they closed at 7:30, they looked at us and said, "Go back in there and tell them we said we're still open for you guys." We were a bit concerned that we'd cause hard feelings and said we could just come back a different day, and they wouldn't have it. "We're the guys who'll be cooking, not them, if we're okay with it, then what have you got to lose?" We looked at each other and thought briefly and headed back up to the entrance. I had mentioned that I had a spur of the moment 'hankerin' for German Food, and he said, "Well, you're at the right place!" Before we got back in the front door, one of the chefs (we learned shortly after were the owners) was already letting the bar staff know to get us seated and taken care of. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu, and I ordered the Pork Schnitzel. We of course sampled each others' dishes and it was beyond amazing on both entrees. Some of the best schnitzel I've had NOT in Europe, and the mushroom onion gravy was so savory and rich. The Chicken was loaded with flavor and I could definitely see that being on a future order for myself. After we were beyond stuffed, we decided to split a dessert for the occasion and had the Chocolate Mousse Cake. When the bartender learned it was our first anniversary, she made sure to get a candle to put in the cake for us, it was a very nice and welcoming touch. The bar staff was on their game with the service, keeping drinks full and checking on us frequently to make sure we were good to go. There were only two other tables still seated in the restaurant at that point, and they were actually there already eating when we first arrived. They were still there when we departed, so we assumed they may have been family friends or locally important patrons. The ambiance of the restaurant has a very British Pub feel to it, and it is so amazingly cozy and feels like home. We both left with an amazing impression and cannot wait for another chance to try some of the other menu options. I'm very curious to try the Filet Mignon next time, but the Stroganoff looked quite tempting as well. I think we both found a place that we'll absolutely keep on the short list of places to revisit next time we're in town. It was such a memorable experience and we so greatly appreciated the flexibility and hospitality they demonstrated. That type of service is so hard to find these days. Beyond that, I REALLY want to try those Eclairs on a Thursday!

We both had triple dippers with a mix of southwestern egg rolls, sliders, fried mozzarella and boneless wings. All of our items were delicious, including the sauces. My daughter had been dreaming of their dessert, which consists of lava cake on top of a cookie pie, and big scoop of vanilla ice cream covered in a chocolate shell. She was in absolute heaven, with a smile from ear to ear. I have to admit it was delicious. She brought half of it home (minus ice cream to avoid a soupy mess). Our waiter was great, attentive and replenishing drinks as needed. After we mentioned being rewards members, he quickly brought out their delicious chips and salsa. We also brought back half of our dinner, as it was generous in size. We were there at a good time, great dinner experience at Chili's. There was a bday gathering with a large group nearby and I could squeeze in a glimpse here and there, as they played the World Cup Argentina game. We love Chili's!

Our waiter was kinda of new, but was attentive and nice. We ordered drinks and food and got everything rather quickly. I was not a fan of the Chipotle honey mozzarella sticks but the Nashville ones my daughter got were yummy. Id probably stick to chipotle honey for the tenders. The southwestern egg rolls were good, but not the best Ive had, but decent for bar food. The chicken tenders were good, and ny daughter really enjoyed the sliders. Overall, decent spot to go for happy hour or quick American bar food. Its family friendly and pretty spacious, with plenty of seating. Forgot to mention thay they also offer chips and salsa on the house, which were not bad.

Enjoyed National Pancake Day today. We were greeted warmly by the manager, Gary who introduced…read morehimself. And he also checked on our table twice to ensure we were okay. Our server, Gabriela was super friendly and accommodating. My daughter asked for whipped cream on her pancakes and since they came out so quickly it wasn't added. Gabriela noticed and immediately brought out whipped cream. The only thing I would note is that I ordered a side of eggs to eat alongside my pancakes and they came out a few minutes later. Otherwise, this was a nice morning to spend a 2 hour school delay and enjoy yummy short stacks.

This is the "new" restaurant that took over the Buffalo Wild Wings And I've been meaning to try it…read morefor a while now, but only just now been able to get a chance to do it. Made a reservation not like you really need one, but we made one and was seated down pretty quickly. The host was nice and friendly and the wait staff said hello to us within the five minutes of us seating. I appreciated how family-friendly this place was, they give these cute little animal boxes with different things inside and crayons to keep the kids entertained. The decoration is fun with a lot of outdoor vibes and stuffed real animals. They bring out a side of chip and a yogurt dill dip that's interesting, a fun idea. The food, mhm so we ordered a lot! Crab dip: 2.5/5 not too bad but not memorable, okay amount of crab, flavors were too heavy on the cream cheese/fillers but just okay, they need more bread with it but the chips helped. Prob wouldn't order again Crab cake: 3.8/5 pretty good size and good amount of crab and good flavor probably the best dish that we had ordered here! Would get again. Burger: 3/5 granted I did order this medium well for my kid, but the burger was charred a little too much around the burger, giving it a sort of dry crunch on the edges and charcoal burn vibes. Not my favorite texture that I would want on a burger, but perhaps it would've been different if I ordered a medium? Bread itself was a little stale/crunchy which I did not prefer how it was cooked/prepared. Overall, it was just okay. Ribs: 2.5/5 the ribs were half off ribs so I decided to go for it because of the good deal. But it was just okay, being that Blackhog barbecue is right next-door (thier dry rub ribs are amazing), I would hope that they would step up their barbecue rib game. For a " full rack" there were only nine bones and seemed a little smaller than what I'm used to. It's very heavy on the sauce which I didn't think was the best pairing and wasn't the best flavor bbq sauce. Overall, I wouldn't order it again. Steak kabob: 3.2/5 this was actually pretty tender for the cut of meat, I'm surprised that I didn't have to work for it so I was happy about that! The only criticism that we have is that the meat itself did not have that much flavor or seasoning and there's only one skewer of meat and one skewer of veggies. Meaning the total amount of meat that was probably on that dish was no more than 4 -5 ounces of steak. And for that price point, I would want a little bit more meat. Mac and Cheese: 3.5/5 pretty good for a kids Mac! Good cheese and flavor was impressed! Overall, the service and the host in the experience of being there was pretty good, but the food was a little lacking not sure if I would go again, but it was on our right experience in terms of food
