Came here on a Saturday evening after grabbing a drink at 3Cat (same plaza). We didn't have reservations, but the staff was super kind and squeezed in our group of 6, much appreciated! We weren't super hungry, just wanted to try the ramen on a whim, and honestly, we were not disappointed. I shared the truffle butter tonkotsu with a friend. So rich and comforting. Just a heads-up, they charge an extra $2 if you want to split a bowl, which is fair. Also appreciated that they were upfront, since we had a party of 6, they let us know 20% gratuity would be included in the bill. No surprises. Overall: solid ramen, good service, small but cozy.

Took wifey here for her bday dinner this year. We got the omakase and it was a great experience. The service was lovely and never rushed us. Actually, they were shocked at how quickly we ran through everything . The wagyu ramen is something we MUST go back for as an entree. It was the best bowl of broth I've had in ages. I also really loved the octopus. Romance in the corner of a ktown strip mall. https://open.substack.com/pub/flalovela/p/february-1st-incense?r=3k7rmo&utm_medium=ios

Soft Shell Crab Bao was elite! The biggest surprise was the Spicy Salmon Skin Salad. The Skin had a nice fry on it that made it super crispy and the spicy dressing was super awesome. The Handrolls were alright; They were obviously good, as value goes though I would definitely recommend the Kaisen Don as you get more variety in the bowl. The ramen was super good. The noodles and the broth were light and super tasty. The Ramen toppings were good and so was the pork that came with it too. Overall awesome place. The appetizers/Bao were definitely the highlights. The store is small cute and the other people that came in too had a chill vibe.

We knew Iki Ramen from a friend who's been a regular there and he had plenty of stuffs from the menu he recommended. Apparently Iki Ramen was popular not only for their ramen but also mazemen and sushi rolls. Call us lucky, I thought we just arrived at perfect timing, right before the venue suddenly got busy and the line started to form. The petite space with dim lighting did remind us of local Japanese restos vibes. We got couple of their favorites, the Mentaiko Mazemen and the Iki Rolls. Both were on the creamy side, which was perfect when shared. The Mazemen was more like creamy pasta but with ramen base for us. We love the sauce, the Ramen texture, but would prefer if it carried more protein. We even thought of ordering sides protein to accompany it. Whereas for the rolls, it was just flawless. Came with rich stuffing and literally felt like melt in our mouths especially that aburi sauce on top.

Cute little ramen place in the heart of Koreatown. Though there are hundreds ramen places around the area, this place provides an intimate setting and tasty, high quality of dishes that are worth a try. We went with a bigger group even though they had limited space. I appreciate their hospitality and willingness to accommodate to our party. We ordered many rolls and sashimi dishes. My personal favorite was the salmon burrata. Creamy, tangy, and fresh. I also enjoyed the Wagyu ramen. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! This place is amazing for their ramen but also their delicious sushi. I would come again for a future date!

You gotta love LA for the hidden gems you can find in so many strip malls around town. Iki Ramen's Koreatown location is one such spot, an oasis of serenity and deliciousness just behind its door. I briefly wanted to gate-keep IKI bc it's a small restaurant but of course I'm not! I originally went to the Hollywood location for ramen, which was delicious and comforting but not too heavy. But I definitely left wanting to come back for all the sushi that was also on the menu. And am I glad I did! Fresh fresh is a must and a given. You can start w appetizers like the well-salted edemame, miso black cod, or the house made, uniquely delicious MISO SOUP. Then take your pick from the many hand/cut rolls, signature rolls and sashimi offerings. They even have a few Bao "sandwiches" w ebi katsu, soft shell crab, pork and others. But DO NOT skip the IKI GRAB HANDROLLS! Especially the PREMIUM one! The nori comes stacked separately from the mounds of rice and fish (or wagyu beef or scallops) so that you can leisurely (without worry of your nori getting soggy) put together your handroll. They were kind enough to cut each well portioned handroll "stuffing" into twos bc we were splitting it. Each one was incredible!!! The light touch of sauce/ seasoning is in perfect harmony with the fish/beef/scallops and absolutely melts in your mouth. Don't forget to save a little room for their delicious desserts. My favorite was the not-too-sweet black sesame crème brûlée. The minimal concrete & wood decor plus the attentive but not hovering and friendly service lets you focus on the food. I cannot gosh enough about what is now, for sure, my FAVORITE SUSHI RESTAURANT in Los Angeles!! They recently opened Iki Nori also in Hollywood and I can't wait to try that one too!

First off, this order was placed through Uber Eats. It was prepared quickly and without any error. Here's a run down of my experience: Mentaiko Mazemen: In my opinion, the star of the night and my favorite of all the things we ordered. Good portion size and easily divisible between 2 people. Very tasty! If you aren't a fan of seafood, I'd pass since it has a subtle fishy taste to it (probably due to the fish eggs). Crispy Tuna: Very close second to my favorite of the night! The rice was very crispy and warm when it was delivered. I recommend! Spicy Tuna: No complaints! Standard spicy tuna roll that lived up to my expectations. Shrimp Tempura: This was more my fiend's pick since I'm not super interested in shrimp tempura incorporated into sushi. However, this was pretty tasty. Overall, the bill ordered thru Uber Eats totaled around $80 not including tip which is pretty steep for 4 items. However, given that delivery apps usually up charge, this wasn't a total shock. All I can say is that the food exceeded expectation and I would be interested in ordering here again.

I know this is called Iki Ramen but I have yet to try ramen at this restaurant. The sushi is soooo good and fresh! My husband really enjoyed the Uni Mazemen. I would share this dish, it is very rich and filling. Will definitely come back when I'm in the mood to splurge. Parking is awful. They have a lot but it's always packed. Street is always packed. That's LA for you.

Came here feeling a little under the weather, so I ordered the shoyu ramen with chicken broth for myself. My partner ordered the uni pasta, and it had no business being so damn good. It was creamy, sprinkled with some roe, and cooked to al dente perfection. Oh yeah, my ramen. It was light and delicious, with four pieces of chasu. No complaints, it's a good ramen. We also had crispy rice tuna as an appetizer, it wasn't as crunchy as we'd like but otherwise it's good. Decor is cozy, service is good. Would recommend.

I always come here for the sushi ! It's so good and fresh. I told myself next time I will try the Ramen. Also got the spicy tuna crispy rice I forgot to take a photo, but it's probably the best spicy tuna crispy rice I've ever had so good!!!

*** No cash accepted *** Iki Ramen is an upscale ramen & sushi shop located in Koreatown. This space used to be Saint Martha. One of four founders, Jeffrey Undiarto, used to work at n/naka as General Manager and Sommelier. Currently there's another Iki Ramen location in Hollywood as well as two sister restaurants - Iki Nori in Hollywood and Akami Sushi in Arcadia. They try to source the most humanely raised and organic meats as possible. [Parking]: Valet parking within the strip mall for $4 or street metered parking. I did metered parking on 7th St and our party wasn't entirely comfortable walking to back to our cars after sunset so I recommend just paying for valet parking. [Check-in & reservation]: Visitors can join their waitlist on the Yelp app and they will send out a text message when tables are ready. The last call is 30 minutes prior to closing. They also accept reservation on Tock and visitors can even book their $150 per person omakase course. [Atmosphere]: Modern and sleek interior decor. You know the shop gave an upscale vibe when our waiter asked us the following question - still water or sparking water? 20% auto gratuity is applied to table with 5 or more guests. [Menu]: The top Yelp recommended ramen options are Burnt Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen, Yuzu Shio Ramen, and Tonkotsu Ramen. The remaining 75% items on the menu range from donburi (rice bowls), nigiri, sashimi (e.g. Salmon Burrata), handrolls, cut or signature rolls, baos, and appetizers (e.g. Crispy Rice Tuna and Takoyaki). They also post daily special on a wall which include tasting menu for 2 = $120. *** Burnt Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen (rich, shoyu seasoned pork broth, burnt garlic oil, pork chashu, seasoned egg, wood ear mushrooms, corn, scallions, nori - $23): S-tier melt-in-your-mouth pork belly and very creamy broth. Quite an expensive ramen, but it was one of those few cases that you get what you pay for. Salmon Burrata (scottish salmon, fresh burrata cheese, pickled cherry tomato, yuzu, olive oil, honey truffle, sea salt - $18): Decent sashimi, but not sure if it was actually worth the price. *** S-tier tonkotsu ramen, but I am going to knock a star down due to hefty price tags on non-ramen dishes. This is a great ramen shop for anyone who doesn't too much about prices and simply want a premium ramen & sushi experience.

For some reason, they my guy and me there were no tables in the main room and sat us at the bar instead. It would've been understandable if they hadn't sat the next two walkin parties in there. We started with an Eel Bao each. These were drowning in sauce and caused the whole thing to be too sweet. Unfortunate because they are pricey. For mains, I got the Burnt Garlic Tonkotsu dubbing bamboo shoots for corn (clear winner off the night for overall flavor) and my guy got the Truffle Butter (the egg tasted better in this dish). Very sad, tiny piece of seaweed in each and the noodles were only okay. Overall, extremely pricey for the little amount you get. I wouldn't come back

    Michelle D.

The food here is very fresh, and the quality of the fish and meat really stands out. It's definitely worth trying at least once, especially for the hand roll experience--that was the highlight for me. You actually get to make the rolls yourself, which was fun and unique! It reminded me of an elevated version of Doraku in some ways--more refined, but with a similar vibe. That said, I do think the prices are a bit on the higher side for what you get. Still, if you're looking for something new and a bit interactive, this spot is worth checking out.

Everyone got in the restaurant in the order they came in. Service was quick and there were no delays in taking orders. The server came by quickly and dropped off the check as she saw that I was nearly finished with my meal. PARKING Parked at Joe's Autoparks. It was $15! I did not know until after I paid the ticket. Very difficult to find parking in this area, so not many options unless you want to walk really far, back to your car in 90 degree heat. There was another parking garage next to Joe's, but the price was the same! Would I come back again? Not sure. Given that the udon wasn't what I expected, it may be my last time here. Also, parking sucks.

If you have not been to this ramen spot, you are missing out! I still remember that broth like it was yesterday..... so flavorful, so rich, delicious umami flavors. There's not a lot of seating here and there's also not a long line; however, weirdly when we visited people came exactly when another person was leaving. I don't know if it was just timed perfectly or what, but this place definitely stays busy. If you're not afraid of garlic then I would highly recommend the black garlic for sure and of course don't forget to order your extra egg for good luck! You have to pay for the parking area to get into the gated area, but it's not too bad. They won't let you in the gated area if there's no parking which is probably how they have consistent guests but also kind of timed perfectly. I mean, there are other restaurants nearby also that are as busy, but that's what I noticed when I came. I'm always in the area and there's too many delicious food spots in Southern California, but I would love to come back to this one. The staff was also really nice and gave us our space. Restrooms were okay, we came in the afternoon so it wasn't spotless, but it wasn't too bad either.

Chicken Karaage was very good. I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen and Chicken Karaage. The Chiasu was tender and cut thick. I really enjoyed having lunch here. While I was there, people were coming in and out, and the place fills up. The manager/owner was Japanese and was very friendly.

Little Tokyo Ramen Crawl: Maruya Some days you just get a…read morecraving. Not a specific one, not a "I need this exact dish" kind of craving -- just a deep, nagging need for a bowl of noodles. That's the mood that pulled me into Maruya in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. I ordered the chashu tonkotsu, the classic go-to when you want to judge a ramen shop by its bones. And the verdict? It was... fine. Not bad, not memorable -- just okay. The kind of bowl that doesn't offend you but doesn't linger in your memory either. No standout richness in the broth, no chashu slice that made me pause mid-bite. Just noodles, doing their job. This is actually the second ramen spot I've tried in Little Tokyo, and I'll admit -- I'm starting to feel a little underwhelmed by the neighborhood's ramen scene so far. For a pocket of the city with so much culinary history packed into a few blocks, I expected to be a bit more wowed by now. Two tries in, and I'm still searching for that bowl that stops me in my tracks. What did stand out, though, was the service. The staff at Maruya were genuinely warm and helpful -- attentive without hovering, quick to check in, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to root for the place even when the food doesn't quite deliver. It's the kind of detail that softens an otherwise middling meal. So, Little Tokyo ramen crawl: two down, verdict still out. The people have been great. The noodles? I'm still waiting to be impressed. On to the next bowl.

This is a review only of their happy hour specifically, not of their ramen, which I have not tried…read moreand can't speak to the quality of. I actually became aware of the existence of this restaurant *because* they had a happy hour sign out in front, advertising, among other things, $4 salmon poke "tacos" (which was definitely actually a tostada, but still), and $3 nigori sake to go with it, which sounded pretty bomb - when I passed by the sign on my way to an event at Death & Co nearby, I took note of it but wasn't interested in food. However, when I left that event, an event I thought was going to provide a lot more food than it actually did, I absolutely *was* interested in food, and remembered that the sign advertised not only a traditional happy hour (open until 6 weekdays, 2:30-5:30 Saturday/Sunday), but also the same prices during a reverse happy hour (8 to close weekdays, 9 to close on the weekend). Given it was, at that moment, just after 8 on a Wednesday, I knew exactly where I was going to get the second half of my dinner from. Funny enough, I will say, the salmon poke that drew me in, was just... good. Don't get me wrong, if I were offered them for free, I'd eat at *least* a dozen. They were quite tasty - also like 2 bites worth of food (so eating a dozen of them would not be remotely difficult to do.) Salmon poke is wonderful, but if I wanted poke, I'd go find a poke place - even $4 felt a bit pricey for the size (they're $6 when it isn't happy hour), so I'm glad I decided to also try their karaage. Their karaage is BOMB - some of the best I've had, honestly. $7 for a 4-piece order of their karaage, by contrast, feels like a very reasonable price, and $5 (during happy hour) an absolute steal. Great karaage, great sauce, super fulfilling. The happy hour on karaage would be enough of a draw by itself - but separate from that, so would the $3 happy hour on sake, including both a regular house cold sake and a nigori. As you can see from the picture, they also intentionally overpour their sake, which is not only a very pretty presentation, but also an impressive amount of sake for $3 (heck, for DTLA, a pretty impressive amount of sake even at their normal $5 price). They also have $6 happy hour shochu/sake/juice cocktails that looked pretty good, though I didn't try one. Service was great, too - sometimes you can tell a restaurant is less excited to serve someone who clearly just came in for a drink and a snack, but that was not my experience here. Verdict is, I definitely want to come back and try their ramen sometime, but I would definitely make sure to do it either before or after their prime dinner hour, to take advantage of happy hour pricing. (And I would definitely get more of that karaage as a side. I will probably also make a point to do so as a snack, subsequent to any future events I go to in the area that end around 8 on a weekday, as well, for as long as that happy hour remains such a draw, price-wise.)

Food (3/5): Pretty ok ramen! You come to Tsujita Artisan Noodle in Arts District for the Tsukemen…read more Their tsukemen is creamy with deep umami flavor. Their noodles have a bounciness and chewiness that hold the broth you dip your noodles in. I do wish the broth was hotter because the noodles are traditionally served cold. I've come here for their Naruto collaboration and to try their traditional ramen where their noodles come with the broth and it tastes significantly different than their tsukemen which I didn't have a liking to. It was missing some oomph that not only differentiates this ramen from others I've tasted before but also gets people to keep coming. Service (5/5): Quick service! Every time I've been there hasn't been a wait. Price (4/5): To compensate for taste I do think the price needs to be lowered a bit. The tsukemen to me was definitely worth it. Ambiance (4/5): Cute little modern shop. It won't fit many big parties but it is perfect for duos.
