Pancake w/ spicy mayo & side salad

We arrived around 1pm, restaurant was empty but a lot of to go/pick up orders. We ordered the pancake & regular pork katsu to share. Our waitress was very attentive to us & described what was what when our food arrived. The pancake was perfectly seasoned not too salty, extremely crispy & not too oily. Rate this 4 stars! Now, the pork katsu.... Perfectly fried & crispy but it is not a thick cut as listed but pounded too thin & very dry not juicy at all. The curry sauce & bowl of broth was overly sweet, the jalapeño sauce saved it. But the side salads, pickled cucumbers & what tasted like mustard greens were fantastic. Rate this 3 stars.

The food was delicious!!! Best katsu I've had in La. Their service was amazing as they're always making sure our side dishes were full which was really nice. Very clean and open ambiance. They also have parking which is really convenient. Will come back

I ordered takeout and the lady was friendly. It took probably around 15 minutes before my order was ready and it was still so good when I had it at home. The cheese pull was good and the katsu was still crispy. It came with soup, sides, salad, and sauce (I really like the green sauce.)

Small little resturant for tonkatsu. It was very good and very cheap too! The portion size is large, so definitely good value place to eat at. First time trying cheese katsu, and I enjoyed it. I would recommend this place for the good value and taste.

The katsu was very crispy, they had 4 different katsu choices to choose from. The server was very nice and took out ordered quickly. Food came out really fast as well. They had really popping music playing in the background and had a family friendly vibe.

We were in the area and decided to try My Donkatsu for some Korean food! It's located in a small plaza with a decent amount of parking. As soon as we walked inside the restaurant we were greeted by a worker. The restaurant is on the smaller side and there were other parties there already but we were able to get seated right away. We got the katsu and spicy pork bulgogi. The katsu was tender and had a nice crunch from the breading. We also got a soup and salad before we got our main dishes. The spicy pork bulgogi was so yummy and had such a great flavor! Will definitely be coming back whenever we're in Ktown again.

I've been here at least 5 times and every single time it doesn't disappoint, the pork belly, the spicy pork rice, tornado shrimp, dumplings, crab pancakes, cheese katsu, MY GOD! It's a party of flavors, plus the lady owner is super sweet and very kind. The portions of katsu are generous, the food is absolutely delicious, it is one of my favorite spots I enjoy it very much, everyone should know about this place it truly is a hidden gem. The music is not loud so you can have a conversation, chill vibes also the art wall is amazing.

I was craving katsu while in LA and stumbled upon this mom and pop restaurant. It's very small inside with only 6 tables, so it must be busy during peak hours. We came around 3:45 PM on a Sunday and we had no issue with being seated as there was only one other party at the time. I don't think anyone noticed that we came in, so it took a while before someone came out to take our order. The owner is so sweet, attentive, and kept checking in on us. A cool and unique thing about this restaurant is their wall that you can write or draw on. The parking lot is small with tight spots, but at least it's free parking. I ordered the regular pork katsu which came with a side of rice, salad, miso soup, pickled veggies, and two sauces. The katsu was crispy, juicy, and tender. The breading on top was a nice and crispy topping. Not sure what the green sauce was, but it had a very slight kick of spice. The brown sauce was a typical katsu sauce and was slightly sweet. Both sauces were nice to dip the katsu in to elevate the flavor. The rice portion is smaller than I've had at other places. It was cooked well though and was not mushy. The salad was fresh and had a creamy dressing on it. The soup was warm and wasn't salty, but was a bit oily. I also ordered the pork gyoza which was crispy and had a tasty mayo-like sauce drizzled over it that complimented the gyoza well. The portion was huge and very affordable for the amount they serve. I'd love to come back if I'm in LA again!

This place is insanely tasty. Small, not anywhere for huge parties, seems very mom and pop run! I love that the menu is pretty straight forward, but wow. It is cooked to perfection. We got the cheese and pork katsu and the crab cream appetizer to share- plenty of food for 2 people, as it also comes with rice, salad, soup, and some banchan. Service was great, perfect for a quiet dinner date.

This is a casual dining restaurant. Service is friendly. There is a free parking lot but it's small, limited spaces. Chicken katsu was delicious, with tax it was $20.

I finally found a true Donkatsu master in the heart of LA Koreatown! My Donkatsu is tucked away in the old Gamjagol mall but don't let the location fool you. The service from the owner is incredibly warm and kind while her husband prepares the food with the precision of a true craftsman. I've lived in LA for a long time but I've never had Donkatsu this fresh and delicious. The quality of the frying is on a whole different level compared to Wako or Lasung.

Since my first time discover My Donkatsu, I have returned here so many times, especially whenever I crave Katsu! This place def has the best Katsu out all of the places I have been! My go-to order here is the Pork Belly Katsu, but I have tried their Pork Cheese Katsu before as well! The pork belly katsu always hit hard! The pork has perfect ratio of meat and fat. The fried-to-perfection golden layer of panko was crispy, but not too oily - making it not super heavy! I love the cucumber and the non-spicy kimchi that are served as complimentary side dish. Service is super nice! The owner was so attentive and kept checking up on us to see if we like the food. The restaurant located in a small plaza in Ktown, but parking wasn't too bad! The inside of the restaurant is super cute with figurines as decoration. You can even draw on the wall using the marker provided on the table!

We have ordered to-go twice already and it hits the spot everytime. We called in our orders and were ready in 30 mins or so. Service is great, they even cut holes on the the to-go containers to make sure they katsu don't soggy. They even added small bottled waters. Chicken Katsu comes with delicious sides and the meat pieces were cooked so well. The breading is very thin. Unagi Katsu is one of a kind, the Unagi is very fresh and just tasty overall. It's quite far from us but definitely always worth the drive to have a taste of a home cooked comfort meal.

There's a strong possibility we would've ordered more food, definitely more beverages, had he checked on our table. At one point, a woman who appeared to be manager/owner walked into the restaurant, and her and server went to a booth at the back of the restaurant, closed the curtains and left the restaurant with no discernible servers for the duration of their "meeting". It took over 20 mins to simply pay for the meal. Overheard a table over confronting the server over a discrepancy over the tip amount, the 20% amount on the pay machine actually being more than 20% of the bill. This tracks with what others have cautioned. Location and ambiance is lovely, but not enough to warrant a revisit.

Nearly two hours for a takeout order is excessive, especially without clear communication or updates about the delay. When I arrived, I was informed that part of the order had been sitting out for about an hour. I wasn't comfortable accepting food that had been sitting that long, so I chose to cancel the order rather than wait even longer for a fresh remake. Again, the food here is genuinely delicious, and that's the reason I'm leaving this review instead of simply never coming back. My issue isn't with the quality of the food--it's with the order management, communication, and customer service surrounding this experience. I hope management can improve these issues because the food deserves better than the experience I had.

The only downside for me was the roll--it was smaller than I expected for the price. Looking back, I would probably skip the roll and order a cup bap or a few more pieces of yubu instead. I also noticed quite a few people picking up to-go orders, so ordering ahead is probably the way to go if you want to avoid the long wait.

We ended up ordering the toro garlic toast, veggie tempura, ginza roll, and several pieces of nigiri sushi. The toro garlic toast was pretty good - sort of like a spicy tuna crispy rice situation ... but a little fattier and more garlicky than crispy. The ginza roll was pretty good too - a lot of fish in the roll and wasn't overwhelming with too much sauce. The tempura was good too- not super oily and all your typical veg involved. The nigiri sushi were pretty well prepared. The size was pretty good for the price - and each were accompanied by a small garnish on top or a little bit of sauce brushed on. All in all - I wouldn't say it's a date night place, but is a good easy eats sushi spot for rolls and nigiri for the price. Would recommend!

First impressions: the place is pretty simple. Don't expect a super decorated sushi bar or that "wow, this feels like a hidden Tokyo gem" vibe. It's more casual and a bit plain inside. Service also felt a little... rookie. Our waiter was nice but seemed new to the job -- a bit unsure and not very engaging. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered a mix of sashimi, nigiri, and rolls -- salmon sashimi, bluefin sashimi, rainbow roll, Red Dragon roll, sweet shrimp, eel nigiri, and a baked salmon roll. Presentation was actually quite nice (orchids and plating looked great for photos, but the sashimi slices were thinner than expected. The fish tasted fresh enough, but overall the food landed in the "good but not memorable" category. Solid sushi, just nothing that really made us go "wow." If I were judging purely on food and atmosphere, this would probably land around 2.5 stars for me. BUT... here's where the night got sweeter. When the staff heard our daughter had just won her gymnastics competition, they surprised her with a free ice cream to celebrate. That was a really thoughtful gesture and totally made her night. On top of that, they also brought complimentary miso soup for our whole table (4 of us), which was a nice unexpected bonus. Little things like that go a long way, especially when you're dining with kids. It turned what would have been a pretty average dinner into a warm family moment. So while the sushi itself was just okay, the kindness from the staff bumped this review up to 3.5 stars for me. Would I go out of my way to come here? Probably not. But if I'm nearby and craving sushi again, I'd consider stopping in -- especially since they were so sweet to our little champion.

Recently, it came back to mind, so I looked it up and found out that the Little Tokyo location had permanently closed. After doing a little more research, I discovered that they had relocated to DTLA. I had been craving a Hamburg steak lately, which was one of the main reasons I decided to visit. My mom ordered the Sukiyaki, and I ordered the Hamburg steak. We shared both dishes, and unfortunately, the Sukiyaki was unbelievably salty. It tasted as if someone had poured an entire bottle of soy sauce into it. Even when eaten together with the rice that came with it, it was still overwhelmingly salty. The beef was also very tough, which made the dish even more disappointing. As for the Hamburg steak, the portion size was extremely small. On the positive side, it came with a generous serving of rice, a salad, and miso soup. The Hamburg steak itself tasted good, but it was severely overcooked and heavily charred, which was a huge disappointment. Until recently, I wasn't particularly focused on my health, but both of my parents have been dealing with health issues, and seeing that has made me much more health-conscious. I've been trying to avoid burnt foods and charred meats whenever possible. I've also cut out ham, sausages, sugary juices, and sodas. Because of that, I was especially disappointed to see my Hamburg steak burned so badly that parts of it were almost black. The restroom required walking down a very long flight of stairs. While it was spacious and clean, it had a somewhat eerie atmosphere, probably because it was located in the basement. There were only stairs and no obvious alternative access, which made me wonder how customers with disabilities would be able to reach the restroom. The service was very friendly and welcoming. However, between the disappointing food, the inconvenient parking situation (street parking only--fortunately, thanks to my usual incredible parking luck, I managed to find the one available parking space), and the difficulty of accessing the restroom, I don't think I'll be returning. Overall, I was especially disappointed by the food, and for that reason, I probably won't be visiting again. But, I gave the tip 20%. Cuz, the service was friendly.

If you're willing to walk a bit, park up the street near the apartments. We chose to seat at the bar and had a wonderful experience talking to our sushi chef and Tiger, the manager. We were told that our sushi chef was one of the best chefs from their Japan branches, and that was evident in all of the sushi we ordered. Every cut of fish was consistently thin and crafted with expertise. We ordered quite a spread (spicy tuna crispy rice, albacore with crispy onion, eel nigiri, sweet shrimp nigiri, agedashi tofu, wild cod nigiri, etc.), and every dish was on point. The fish quality is unlike anything I've ever had before. In fact, Tiger told us the tuna is brought in from Japan. After ordering from our iPad, we started asking our chef and Tiger what their favorite dishes were, leading us to try all these different, off the menu customizations.
