I stopped by last Sunday and it happened to be the Happy hour (until 5:45pm even during the weekend). I ordered the two-roll specials, including Godzilla roll and crunchy roll. They are both fresh and good. What prompted me to write the review is the service, as two servers have helped me fill the green tea and asked me how I was doing serveal times during my brief solo eating, even if the room was pretty full, due to the happy hours. This place is small but it actually provides an intimate feel. Food is consistently good. My fiance and I have enjoyed several delicious meals here. We love the jalapeno pepper appetizer stuffed with cheese and crab and lightly deep fried! Sushi is good quality, and I am waiting to try their noodle options, which looked amazing when I see the servers carrying it by. I am a fanatic of Japanese food and was so excited to try the food. It was such a beautiful place, but.. I was so disappointed. When we got in, there was 3 tables open. They seated us on the very last table near the window, that's fine but then they just forgot about us. There were two other tables that sat down after us and they took their drinks and their food way before us. After 30 minutes they asked us what to drink only and dropped the water off without asking what to eat. I was pretty upset with the hospitality there. We understand understaffed situations but for them to get other meals out before someone who was waiting was kind of rude. My husband and I went to Aki Sushi for our anniversary dinner. We ordered some hot saki and toasted each other "happy anniversary"! We were seated at the bar and the chef in front of us asked if it was our anniversary and how many years. I told him it was and we've been married 15 years. Shortly after that he presented to us a complimentary appetizer of seaweed salad. We started off our meal with a chirashi bowl. OMG, so delicious.... our server gave us an extra plate as we were sharing. We then ordered the Suzuki nigir.....again, such good stuff. We tried a couple other things but kept going back to the Suzuki. The fish just MELTS in your mouth!!! The staff is so very attentive, polite and friendly! I already want to go back to this place. We also got a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary. Stop what you are doing NOW and run, DON'T WALK to this place immediately!! read more

Good chef, poor guy whoever helps the head chef cuz his stuff came out wrong or just differeny lol. Best service as far as dining in but ordering ahead or takeout is bad, one lady waited i saw waited an entire hour. Deff recommend sitting at the bar of any sushi restaurant in small groups and always keep chef convos small. This one is the same as the head chef will make sure ur taken care of. Rolls are super small than what im used to,taste is average. 15min wait for our food but salad came out quick. The sushi was pretty good. Service was pretty good But neither were worth 5 stars. My friend ordered water with no ice in Japanese and instead of the girl admitting she didn't speak it she came back with an ice tea and then didn't listen when she was told that was incorrect and charged us for it. We received a roll that was not our order and had to wait for the correct one. They did give us the incorrect one for free so that was nice. Overall it was pretty good. read more

Finally a sushi place in Tri Cities that's up to par with a Seattle sushi restaurant! The fish is extremely fresh and delicious. They only have the fresh stuff and are out of other things on their menu so it's good to ask what's fresh that day! I prefer to have it that way as opposed to gross old fish at other sushi places in this area. It's fun to try what they just got in! They always have the basics though of course. Obvious it's new. Food was fine, wasn't amazing. All the waiters were super nice. Place was packed and came because of "great" reviews. Simple things like forgetting wasabi and ginger on 1 of 2 orders, bringing one order out then another 10 minutes later, forgetting chop-sticks, gyoza wasn't fried at all but tastes fine, there is a large bench covering one side of the restaurant and I got the "be careful, it tips" side.... yea... like you lean forward and the bench goes into the back of your knees and everyone next to you moves. Sushi is $6-$17 a roll and was above average. I ordered three rolls and my total with a soda was $40. Nothing really grabbed me when it comes to taste but the presentation was excellent. Ridiculously good. Best sushi experience in the tricities. Whoever is handling the fryer needs to get a raise; tempura (tried shrimp and calamari) were perfectly cooked. I hope they keep it up... I just went to visit seattle and my friend from the local area brought me to this freshly opened sushi place. I was impressed by their food! All sushi are so fresh and the price is reasonable. I live around los angeles and there are much more sushi place here, but I couldn't find one with sushi that are as fresh as this restaurant. I just came back a week ago and I already miss Aki Sushi! Well I have the absolute best taste in my mouth right now! I tried 5 different rolls, each better than the last. My favorite was the creamy Maguro. Also highly recommend anything with their crab mixture in it. The ingredients are so fresh it's really amazing, usually here in the desert we can't get this kind of quality. The rolls have a smaller amount of rice mixed in than other places, more fish! Can't wait to go back! read more

I travel 100% for work and am lucky to eat at some amazing restaurants. Needless to say, I am incredibly thankful for Aki! It just happens to be one of the BEST sushi restaurants I've ever eaten at and continue to eat at each trip to the Tri-Cities area. Absolutely on par with Seattle, San Fransisco, New York and Hong Kong (haven't yet made it to Japan) for sushi. This place is phenomenal. They truly celebrate their fish and do an amazing job paying tribute to the art of sushi.
