I have come to KINshoppe solely to see Chloe for the most beautiful color eyelashes and a luxurious facial. I kept admiring my friends' colorful eyelashes, and they recommended Chloe to me. For my birthday, I decided to treat myself and see what all the fuss was about. Chloe squeezed me into her packed schedule to make sure I was set for my special day. For my first set, I got purple/pink lashes, and they were fabulous! Chloe was incredibly gentle, and I finally understood how my friends said they fell asleep when they got their lashes done. I didn't think I would have the patience to keep coming back for fills, but the results were too good to stop. When I went back, Chloe added UV colors, making my lashes even more fun and colorful. After going through some life stressors, I scheduled my first facial with Chloe, and OMG! It was like her fingers were doing a choreographed dance on my face as she cleansed my skin and rubbed in different. It was so relaxing, and I left glowing! When we were done, she reviewed the face products I use at home and gave recommendations on what to use and how often. Each time I went into Chloe's "office," I laid down on a heated & padded table; she offered knee and back support pillows, a cozy blanket, and the audio of my choice. I love going to KinShoppe Salon! It's always a treat when I get my hair done, but when you spend the money you want both a great experience and a good haircut! I have been going to Tara, one of the owners off and on for a few years now. In the past year, I have only gone to her! She always asks what we're doing and she listens. Often times I want just a trim and to some hair stylists that still means cut off a couple inches. My length is NEVER compromised. The environment is relaxing and I LOVE all the plants in the salon. I've always received a friendly greeting and offered a refreshment. The pricing might be a little more expensive than other salons, but I've been to many and the lower cost compromises part of the experience in one way or another. Tara always gives the best shampoo and head massage (one of the best parts) on my opinion, and I walk out with my hair styled and looking fabulous. Other salons will then add on and charge more if you want a blow dry and your hair curled. I know I'm going to have the full experience, so I don't mind paying more $$. I booked with Roxy (Discovered her on IG) and not only do I love my new hair but I loved the entire salon experience. She provided a preference sheet prior to my appt and on that sheet I was able to choose what type of appt I preferred such as silent, energetic or relaxed. I was given the drink menu-- I chose the monthly drink and it was waiting for me upon my arrival. My experience was a 10/10! I reviewed their website, read about each of the stylists, and filled out my consultation form requesting Sam as a stylist. A day or two later Sam emailed me personally and we scheduled an appointment. Flash forward to today, I met with Sam for the first time and she allotted plenty of time to go over everything about my hair. I've never had this experience before at another salon! I called and made an appointment. I had an AXXESS card. So my $40 haircut was going to cost $20. I was told my stylist's name was Jordan. I went to YELP and checked out Jordan's reviews. They were all outstanding. I felt relieved. I haven't had a haircut for about a year. My hair felt damaged and was in need of help. Serious help. I told Jordan that my husband wants length and I want healthy. My layers were weird. I often use a scrunchie.... to just throw it up. I really need to stop that. I asked her to help me. She said that my layers grew out and were too heavy for my face. (Yes. I agree. Fix that please.) She said that she would trim off the (straggly unruly ends.. not her words.. she said something kinder. ) She would cut while my hair was wet and after it was dry. Yea! We went to the shampoo station. There was another stylist & customer there. The other stylist was promoting the shampoo she was using to her client. (Yikes.) Jordan quietly shampooed my hair while giving me a scalp massage. Yea me! Then we returned to the station. She asked a couple of questions about my life. I answered them. 24 minutes later, my hair was blown dry, trimmed 2 ways and hasn't felt healthier in a long long time. I paid my $20 and tipped her $10. I will be back to see Jordan. I am striving for balance between taking care of others versus taking care of myself. Today, I made a decision that makes me feel more confident and happy. She said Jordan handles her own appointments and told me how to go online and book an appointment. I went online and was asked to answer many questions about my hair, then was asked to submit 3 photos of my current hairdo. After the effort of just trying to get an appointment I was very disappointed to have never received an acknowledgment of my submission, let alone an appointment.--that was 2 weeks ago. Outstanding customer service. This salon is easy to locate and get to. Conveniently located in mid Ventura, next to the yellow Draganchuck place and near the old fresh and easy. Plenty of parking on the side for customers as well. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by really professional, warm and friendly staff. If you need to wait, they have a cozy seating area ( the whole decor is just the cutest!) Have some coffee, tea or some water while you wait, too. Good music and just good vibes in general. Everyone just irradiates happiness, even at 9am. Just great ambiance. Jordan, my hairdresser is amazing. I feel so comfortable and well taken care of in her hands. The results are always fab! As a first time mother of a 4 month old who refuses to live by a schedule (the 4 mo refuses, not the mother!), I was very nervous to even attempt scheduling a much needed haircut. After much trepidation I called in on a Saturday and explained my situation to a very friendly receptionist who told me my best bet would be to walk in on the following Wednesday. She promised to alert the stylists working on that day that I was coming and I promised to call ahead to tell them I was coming. My little one was being extremely difficult that day and in a state of mom exhaustion/desperately hoping he would nap in the stroller type scenario, I set out without calling ahead in the vain hope that there would be someone available to cut my hair. When I arrived, Valerie greeted me at the reception area, fully informed as to my situation, and she was a godsend! My baby had woken up from his stroller nap so she suggested I just start with a hair wash and if he started acting up I could just leave. Fortunately he did not and she was also fine with him sitting in my lap when he started getting antsy, while still doing a wonderful job with my hair. The salon was also spacious enough that I could keep my stroller next to me and keep eye contact with my baby at all times. They were also able to let me use a room at the back after my cut so I could breastfeed before our walk home. I don't know why it's taken me so long to post a review for this salon, but it is long overdue. Kinshoppe is a gorgeous place that is warm and inviting and a perfect escape. I was lucky enough to get paired with Roxy, one of the three women owners, when I first called in years ago looking, desperately for help after having my hair butchered by another salon in town. So long as I live here and Roxy is cutting and coloring hair, I will never have another stylist. She is an amazing artist and person. We all know that stylists are proxy-therapists and how important a good connection is and Roxy is so easy to talk to, so kind, so smart, and so empathic. You'd be lucky to sit in her chair. And every time I leave, I feel physically, emotionally, and mentally better. If you can get on her books, do it and get hair that makes you want to get your picture taken. We've done everything from rescuing my hair from at-home bleaching, to fun vivid colors, and back to beautiful, healthy blonde. Even my grow out during the pandemic shut downs have looked good and natural. Roxy can do actual magic with hair. read more

It was nice that when I called on a Thursday, I was able to get a Saturday appointment just like that... That can either be a good or bad thing, in this case it was good for me. I was scheduled with Jordan P. when I arrived she was ready for me... She has been a hairstylist for 4 years and really seems to know her stuff. I told her that I haven't had a cut/trim in over a year and used box color to dye and keep my hair dark. My main issue was that my hair had a brownish/red brass to it which showed alot in the sun. I was looking for a really dark black, so black that in the sun it was dark not a brown/red tint. She proceeded to dye my hair and then gave me a trim. I am one of those people that freaks out when too much is cut, but Jordan was great in listening to my needs and not cutting alot off. My hair was pretty dark, but once I stepped outside I saw the reddish/brown shinning in the light! I texted Jordan my concerns and she then scheduled me to come back in a few days so she can darken it. Although I wish I didn't have to come in twice, Jordan DIDNT charge me to re-darken it, since she said it was her fault. At that appointment we got to talking about Balayage, a type of highlighting and coloring method. She seems to know alot about it, so I am considering starting the process at my next appointment with her in December. Stay tuned... read more

My friend recommended this place to me and today I was able to experience myself how great this place is. I needed to have my hair redone because someone else was lazy and I had an appointment with Brandi. Brandi was amazing. She took time to find exactly out what I was looking for and she nailed it. I am totally in love with the changes made at KINshoppe Salon. I moved away for a bit, and of course had to check right in with my favorite hair miracle doer, Tara. I love everything about the waiting area in this Salon. All the delicious beverage and snack options. I always show up a little early to "extend" my mom pamper time. I used the restroom, because you always have to "try and go potty" if you are sitting long. I could live in that bathroom as is. I don't think I saw a water drop, or a spec of dirt. They had everything you would need, even a tampons. Q-tip? Yep they have that for you too! The best smelling candles and soaps that just make you feel fancy. The one thing that remains the same, even after being gone for over 7 months!! Tara and everyone that works there are just as sweet as ever. The vibe in the shop is what I go early for. I'm a big ambiance and vibe person, if you are too, this is is your place. Do not be weary if you are new to town.
