Walking through this dealership door was one of the biggest, car related mistakes our family has ever made. We traded or beloved Grand Cherokee L for a Hummer SUV, looking for more room to carry our kids and dogs. We had a deal arranged for a new white Suv and when we arrived, it turned out to be a demo model. What was supposed to be a better deal turned into a complete disaster. They sold us an electric vehicle and didn't even include the charger that came with the truck. Car was calling for emergency service the minute we drove it of the lot. After 500 miles the Hummer went back to the shop. The next day we received a call that the car was fixed and ready for pick up. Again, the minute we drove it of the lot, emergency services light comes back on. Car is currently back in the dealer for second time and now, we are being told it will be days before it's fixed. Our family is left with a hefty payment and a compact SUV Buick on our driveway. What a tremendous deal have they offered. A $100,000 car payment on a $35,000 vehicle. These people are SLIME! Four and a half years ago I bought a used car from this place. The loan is almost paid off. I just received a voice message on my cell from a guy who mumbled his name that sounded something like "Constantine." The calling number showed an area code of 805 but the message gave Piemonte's business 630 number. The guy wanted me to come in, buy a new car and graciously offered to keep my payments the same. They want to keep you hooked with never-ending payments. Further, the car I bought was advertised on the internet with posted price. Next morning you could see the dirty windows, leather seats need to be wiped down, garbage on the floor in the rear, garbage under the front seat and even found a pair of glasses under the seat. They were very insistent. We set a price and when I got there they told me they never agreed on that price even though I have it in writing. Also, there very condescending and rude. I told them I had to be in and out because I had my newborn with me. It took forever. Anyway 22 days later I'm still waiting on my check from them and they have had my car all this time. Contacted them via CarGurus on a recent trade in van that they did not post photos of yet. Camille said they would send photos and pictures. I did end up getting a dark short video of the van parked between 2 cars so I could not get a clear view. I thought I saw body damage low on the drivers side. I aske Camille on the phone if that was body damage or just shadows as the van had not been detailed yet and was not clean. She clearly said there is no body damage so I made an appointment to come in. Once there a salesperson took me to the van and I immediately saw a huge dent the size of a bowling ball on the lower drivers side. I had just wasted over an hour drive to get there for nothing. Almost 3 total hours of wasted time and travel when I could have been elsewhere looking at an un-damaged one. Just be aware they apparently will say anything just to get you in the door. That was on a Thursday and we drove down on Saturday. Salesman was very nice! But, I don't believe he went to bat for us like he said he would. Price was increased $9200 over the MSRP price. THAT was frustrating. We talked about it but, since it was what my husband wanted and we were already there, we did purchase it. Nothing was ever said about the $1000 that we put down. After we got home, I called and was told it would be refunded. INSTEAD they took another $1000, so I had to get $2000 refunded. The original $1000 should have been put towards the sale of the truck. Bought a used truck. Tried to add-on $3300.00 worth of garbage on. Bought the truck minus all the crap. Next day transmission service light came on dash and took to trans shop. Told me they had cleared the code at the dealer as they were able to find out when it was cleared through diagnostics. Told dealer. General manager Jose Chavez said they will work with trans shop to cover the cost. After it was done and ready 4 days later the trans shop sent the paperwork to the dealer and they called me and said they won't be paying for anything! State law says you have 15 days and 500 miles but they don't care. Everyone there lies to your face as this is how they do business. Read all the reviews. read more

In short: If your time is important to you, and you want to buy from honest and reputable people, this dealership is not for you. Too many better places to buy a car from than ever waste your time here. I found a vehicle on their website I was interested in and emailed to confirm availability. I received an email and text message from Selena confirming the vehicle was available and would I like to set up an appointment to see it. We spoke on the phone and she said she worked until 9 and SHE would meet with me at 6:30 to show me the vehicle. She inquired about a trade-in and asked me to fill out the Kelley blue book application on the Al Piemonte website. When I ran the Kelley Blue Book valuation myself it came back between $14K-$16K for trade-in value. I told her I wanted $15K but understood it was dependent on them seeing and appraising the vehicle in person. (The vehicle is in excellent condition, $19K miles below average, garage kept, clean Carfax, clean title, zero damage) I asked if this was "possible" because I didn't want to drive 1 1/2 to the dealership if we weren't on the same page with the trade-in. She had me speak with the manager Manish Patel. Manish reviewed my Kelley Blue book on line appraisal FROM THE AL PIEMONTE WEBSITE, and assured me $15K was no problem barring any damage to the vehicle upon inspection (which there is none). I called again before I left to drive 1 1/2 hours to the dealership to confirm the appointment and the car's availability. I spoke with the manager Manish who said Selena was gone for the day (not what she had told me) and that it was no problem because I would work with him and another salesman when I arrived. Upon arrival, there is no Manish. He had told me he inspected the car I was interested in for any scratches or blemishes and it looked great when he confirmed it was on the lot. Apparently, it turns out Manish doesn't even work at this location and just sets up online appointments??? So much for communication, transparency and honesty. Fortunately, I was given a very capable salesman who showed us the vehicle and gave us a test drive. We wanted to purchase the vehicle for the advertised sales price and trade in our vehicle for the $15K. Sounds simple, but it's not. As we discovered after reading other negative reviews of this dealership, the bait and switch prices game is in full force here. The first offer brought to us included an additional $3K+ in an aftermarket tracking system they wanted to sell us and another $2K+ in extended warranties (for a vehicle one year old with a 5yr/60,000 warranty on it). When we declined, our trade-in offer was reduced to $9K. Really? We had an instant cash offer FROM AL PIEMONTE BUICK GMC of $14,122 per the on-line valuation. We had the Kelley Blue book valuation we ran that was between $14K-$16K and we had an MMR valuation from another dealership of $14K-$16K. The on-site manager who offered us the $9K was Amar Kadur. He insisted that when they take a trade in, they have to put in at least an addition $3K restoring and preparing cars for resale he couldn't offer EVEN ONE DOLLAR MORE. He was insistent. He showed us a Carfax valuation of $10,200 that made no sense. Was this the scrap value? We then called the first manager Manish Patel and spoke with him regarding the trade value and he agreed it was between $14K & $16K and didn't understand what Amar Kadur was doing or why. Amar rambled about how cars increase and decrease in value and asked us if we were going to bring in a customer to purchase our car after they offer it for resale. Just ridiculous. Why was he showing us a Carfax valuation when the dealership requires you to use the Kelley valuation on their website? Of course we walked and wasted our time, gas, miles and evening on what should have been an easy purchase and easy sale. For fun we ran our CARFAX VALUATION when we got home and it came back $15,870. Amar and this dealership should pick up and move to the old Western Avenue if this is how they operate and do business. What a sham. This place should be looked at by the Better Business Bureau. If I could give them 0 stars I would!!!! I am absolutely DISGUSTED with this service department. Everyone at this place seems to be a "manager". Can't ever get a hold of upper management... My car has been DESTROYED. They did a piss poor job at fixing my mold issue the first time. I HAD TO BRING IT BACK because I could still smell the mold! Turns out....THEY DIDNT REPLACE THE MOLDY CARPET ALL THE WAY THROUGH!!! Why they didnt fix it makes no sense....How they let me take my car home like this is BEYOND ME. I was 34 weeks pregnant at the time. Not like they cared. They clearly just want their money. They "fixed" it a second time....but this time they had to rip pretty much the whole front end off inside to replace the carpet that should have been done the first time....There is so many pieces broken now its INSANE. EDIT: Manny at Al Piemonte has completely resolved my issue and issued a full refund. My review has been updated to reflect this.* I recently purchased a vehicle from Al Piemonte GMC in Elmhurst. My wife wanted a particular GMC Acadia and I was able to find that particular model at this dealership which was approximately 6 hours from our house. I was initially in contact with Stephanie and Shannon in their online sales department. We stated our intention to purchase the vehicle, are preapproved through our credit union, and would be driving down on Wednesday, August 25th. Stephanie emailed and said it's a fast process, we will take the vehicle that day, and that they work with our CU directly. On Wednesday either Stephanie or Shannon actually called my wife to ensure that we would still be arriving that day, my wife told her we would. We arrived at the dealership around 3 PM and asked for Shannon or Stephanie by name, they were not there. We were then sat down with George who seemed to be new. He then told us that the Acadia we drove six hours to get was no longer on the lot and then showed us a screen with four other Acadias we could choose from. We told George that Stephanie told us it was available that day, he looked into the situation and "found it". Great first impression! He said it was being detailed which for them means putting shiny stuff on the tires.  I explained to three different people no less than 12 times that we had our own financing and only needed the wire info. We were then given an invoice quoting around $38k which was much more than it should have been. They added a $2,450 "appearance and security" fee which Oscar described as a coating that they apply to all of their vehicles. Why does their website state an "internet price" if they add ridiculous fees to each sale?  On Wednesday, August 25th at 11:53 AM, Stephanie had emailed me that the out-the-door price would be $31,988 plus the $303.60 "doc fee" and a $326 "license and transfer fee" and now we're being quoted thousands of dollars more.  After going through two more salesmen Oscar finally sat down at our table and said he would email me an out-the-door price. By that time we had already wasted over four hours of our time and were going back to Gurnee empty-handed. Later that night, Oscar did in fact email me a new invoice (attached) although the sales tax was miscalculated for 7% instead of the Michigan sales tax of 6%. He had also reduced the "appearance" fee to $995 and the government fee to $25. According to my calculation the final price, with corrected taxes, should've been $35,305. On Thursday, August 28th, I arrived at 10:30 am, I only needed wire transfer info and to sign the documents. When I arrived I asked for Oscar, he wasn't there. I then asked for George, he also wasn't there. In fact, I never once dealt with the same person over the course of the transaction. My new salesperson was Samantha, we sat down at her desk, re-explained the situation, and expected a quick and painless transaction, apparently this concept is seemingly lost at Al Piemonte.  Samantha asked me to email the quote from Oscar, which I did. After about 45 minutes I was then given my third and final invoice which added a $357 title and license fee!? We were told that the finance manager Frank was in a meeting so we had to wait to get the wire info. After waiting for 2 hours listening to Samantha take her workplace harassment training on her computer, she gave me the wire info, my CU sent the wire and Samantha said Frank was now on the phone. As an added bonus, she said that if the wire doesn't clear that day, we won't be taking the vehicle but could sign a secondary contract (they mentioned this about 15 times) which requires another credit check etc. No thanks. After more waiting, we sat down with Frank who said they received the money but I still owe $254 because they miscalculated!? I paid it so I could get out of there. The vehicle also had 1,800 more miles on it than quoted! They couldn't waive the $254 for their negligence and false representation of mileage? It almost seemed like they made the process longer than needed because we weren't financing through them read more

Their website is informative in many ways, displaying the car's price, taxes, documentation fee, and estimated registration fee - all typical fees you'd expect to see at any dealership. However, what they conveniently omit from their online information is the additional warranty they will add, $2800, and the tracking monitoring $3500 they have installed in all their vehicles. These costs aren't factored into the car's price until they present you with the bill of sale. In my case, this unexpected addition amounted to approximately $6300 on top of the car's listed price. To make matters worse, there's no option to decline these fees, and the warranty is subject to negotiation. To improve transparency and save potential buyers from wasting their time, it would be beneficial for AL Piemonte Buick to include these fees on their website upfront. While I love the mechanic I see here I need to tell you the General manager, and the service team who checks you in are awful. First off I had an appointment made to have an oil change and rattle noise checked. I then switched my appointment time, not the day. I go in, and they told me there are 14 people ahead of me and I wouldn't be getting my vehicle back today. They told me that since other mechanics are on strike they got swamped taking them in. So what was the point of me making an appointment in advance? Also- I had an appointment, so customers with those should be taken care of first and others filled in around those time slots. Especially since I am a repeat customer. Next they tell me " it's fine if you go over your mileage on your oil" Excuse me? That's not for you to decide how I maintain my vehicle? I prefer to keep up on everything as I intend to drive it till there's nothing left. I also told them, I schedule this around when I can be picked up, as I have a 4 year old, and sitting at a dealer for an hour or so is not an ideal play date, I cannot just drop everything in my life to switch days. After I left, I called the General manager, whom I'm positive was higher than a kite when I called. He did nothing to make this situation right. I do not live 5 minutes from here, I live a distance to drive where I know my car will be well taken car of by a mechanic I trust. He told me it was not because the mechanics were in strike other places, I told him HIS staff told me so. I also told him, that they should be making calls to all of us who were getting screwed on our service, it would've saved me an hour of my day, and gas and miles on my vehicle. Instead me and several Other vehicles were turned away (no I don't know if they had appointments just know they were told the same story) All in all, I will only be here until my mechanic leaves or I find another I trust at a different GM. Their customer service side of Service, and the GM are the worst I've delt with in a long time. So call before you go. Sit down in good faith to purchase the car for list price and come to find out, there is a $1500 fee added to my car price for advertising?!? When I told the salesman I wouldn't pay this bogus fee, I was informed that they list cars lower on autotrader to get customers in and then add this amount back to the car price.
