This is a beautiful beach that has been trashe by the human race. My daughter and I picked up soon much trash..Just look at the pictures. Then look past the trash and look at the beautiful beach. Ok there is only the Starbucks one, maybe they should come out and do beach clean up day! #Starbucks

What the entire greater Bay Area doesn't have that the greater Los Angeles has are abundance of beaches. Although this isn't the cleanest beach but I think it's beautiful.

Glad I waited to write this review. The first time I walked to this beach, it had been after a storm and it was extremely dirty from both human-created and natural materials...so honestly haven't been back (since Junipero is pretty close by), But Alamitos Beach was surprisingly clean, considering how deep the beach is (it is more than 200 yards of sand from the parking lot to the water line). The parking lot is large, and costs $2 per hour even on sundays and most holidays, and you pay at the pay station by entering your slot number. It's the same set-up at the large Belmont Shores Beach parking lot further west. The sand is a bit rough and not very deep, but didn't notice any glass or shards, so it is definitely being maintained. There were some tents set-up around the sandy areas, but not a lot. It was a holiday, but the crowds were sparse and plenty of space to sit and admire the nature view...and quiet enough to hear the lap of the slight waves crashing into shore. The view is distinctly Long Beach, with the oil rig islands, Queen Mary and Carnival Cruise line ship, and the downtown skyline...I love it.

This beach used to be decent before Covid. It was well maintained and clean. I went today and I drove through the parking lot and immediately smelled weed instantly. I see about 4-5 people smoking weed and playing loud music. The new wave of people treat this beach like a park. First off, they need to get rid of the vendors that are selling clothes because those people are the ones smoking weed and bringing all the loud noise. Also, the water is really dirty now and so is the sand areas. It's unfortunate that this beach used to be well maintained and enjoyable.. now it looks like garbage. Please city of Long Beach take your beach back.

We didn't go to the actual beach but we enjoyed the playground and the food cafe on the beach. We love riding bikes along the shoreline. I can't speak for swimming at the beach, but it felt safe and parking was relatively cheap.

Great area for running, jogging, walking and biking. Also volleyball courts. The public bathrooms are very well-maintained. If you lucky, you get to see beautiful sunset like today.

Alright beach I guess. There's sad, a walk way, a giant blow up fun activity center, and a couple of other things. Idk who thinks this beach is a clean beach. It's pretty nasty considering the other beaches around. Trash everywhere. People hardly if at all ever pick up, especially their sand toys. Wish they had more trash cans for people to use ‍ Two stars because the homeless/rift raft people leave you alone, there was sand , and water thing.

Very clean and not crowded. Nearby the Pike Long Beach. Best alternative versus Santa Monica coming from SGV

It's part of the aquarium of the pacific just along the harbor. There's a parking lot that's part of it but the payment situations was a bit of a mess. Paying with credit card on the machine was a hit or miss. Which i also found out from someone else there. It's probably easy just to do it from your phone. It's a decent size parking lot but there's also parking at the structure just next to the aquarium. It's a cute rolling hill park that looks out to both the queen mary, shoreline village and the harbor. Depending on what side you are. It's a cute little walk around with the lighthouse on top. There's benches scattered throughout the park for seating. There's even a little beach like path along the harbor. Regardless which side you are, the view is quite beautiful. There's also fishing that you could do on the pier. You'll see people about and about walking, picnicking, walking with their dogs or a stroll. Quieter, green grass (it'd be nice to bring a book here) away from the hustle and bustle. And the views are hard to beat, the Lighthouse, the shore with boats and Queen Mary in the near distance. Bring a snack, a drink, take a nice break here, a cool walk to explore the Shoreline Park. Always enjoyable!

And it's completely free. At the top, there's a flat, grassy path that runs along Ocean Boulevard, and it's great for walking, jogging, or pushing strollers. You'll see a steady mix of locals and visitors out here, from joggers getting in miles, families strolling, and plenty of dog walkers taking advantage of how dog-friendly the whole area is. Getting down to the beach is simple too, thanks to multiple staircases that drop from the bluff to the sand below. From there, you can connect to the roughly three mile paved pedestrian and bike path that runs along the shoreline. Parking along Ocean Boulevard is generally pretty easy to find and often free, which makes it even more convenient than most coastal spots. And if you want to make a day of it, you're within walking distance of a lot of local favorites like the Bixby Park farmers market, neighborhood juice bars, and a bunch of casual, dog-friendly restaurants. Seriously, Long Beach is a city that LOVES their pups! The park itself is also home to some nice touches of history and scenery, including historic architecture nearby and the Lone Sailor Memorial, a bronze statue overlooking the ocean that honors the U.S. Navy and Long Beach's naval roots. All in all, Bluff Park feels like one of the most beautiful parks in Long Beach. It's simple, scenic, and right on the water, with unbeatable ocean views and an atmosphere that works just as well for locals as it does for visitors.

When you think of SoCal beaches, this is not quite the image one holds in mind. Yes, it is a beach…read more Yes, there it is right up against the Pacific Ocean. But, as it is link to the L.A. Harbor, it just does not give one that true feeling of Surf Lifestyle. There are really two parts of this beach. There is the North-Facing side that is lined by the San Pedro Cliffs. Cliffs that are quickly falling into the sea. On this side, you can view houses that are barely in place and teetering on the cliff. If it was me living there, I would be very nervous. On this side of the beach is the more open, majestic space of Cabrillo Beach. Here the waves freely crash on the shore and you are just a short walk from the tide pools of the marine reserve, which I highly recommend visiting. You just have to be careful of the homeless and those using drugs like Crack over in that section. Because I have seen a few scary situations unfold. The other part of Cabrillo Beach is where most people congregate. This section is in direct view of the the ships that travel in and out of the L.A. Harbor. This area holds the main swimming area that has a buoyed safety rope strung across the outside reaches of the swimming area. This is where most people swim and enjoy the water. Due to this area of the beach being enclosed by the harbor breakwater, there are virtually no waves in this section. The water seems much more stagnate here. Thus, you really miss the feeling of the natural flowing ocean. Overall, though perhaps not the beauty one expects from the SoCal Oceanside, this is a unique contribution to the California Coastline.
