One of the employees at this location stole my credit card and started ringing up small charges until they drained my account. I don't know which one it is but based on the charges they live in the Brentwood neighborhood of DC, eat a lot of Dunkin' Donuts and like to go out in the Dupont Circle area. Guessing a woman based on a Nordstrom charge earlier today. If anyone working there has an idea of who this might be please let the manager know, and patrons beware there is someone there who has no compunction about stealing from you. read more

My wife and I visited this area for the first since this location opened and we were not disappointed. We went uncertain of what this theater would be like and immediately realized it was exactly what was needed on rainy Friday evening. The service was great, we were met by a guy at the front counter who explained the whole concept to us. The movie theater seats and service inside was outstanding. Very comfortable and a chill vibe. The pizza, wings and popcorn all were vey good. And my wife and I both had a few drinks that came at the perfect time while watching the movie. We had a great time and will definitely be back and have recommended our friends and family to check out the Alamo! read more

The theatre is nice and clean. I enjoyed the service and my food came out hot. The only reason this review isn't 5 stars is due to the parking garage. I went to the front desk and they 'validated' my ticket. However, upon exiting the garage I still had to pay almost $25. This was more than the movie ticket. I only recommend coming to this theater after 4pm or on the weekends when the garage is free. read more

BEWARE! YOU WILL HAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD STOLEN AND THEY WILL TRY TO CONVINCE YOU IT IS LOST - On the evening of April 29th I visited Alamo Drafthouse in Crystal City for a movie. I realized when I got home I must have left my credit card. I went back the next day to look for it and see if someone had turned it in - the theater where my movie had taken place had just started so they said they would look and then give me a call back. I received a voicemail later that day that my card had been found and would be located at the box office. Great news!! When I returned on May 1st to pick up my card, the box office could not find it and said my card must be in the "the vault" which only their manager could access so to please come back the next day. I called the next day to see if the manager was there and they informed me while this had never happened before my card must have "fallen behind a desk." I informed them this was impossible as I was seeing someone use my card around DC - dunking donuts, metro, liquor store - so it was not in fact behind a desk. I emailed these screenshots to the manager Liz and did not hear back for a week. When I tried reaching her again she reiterated "it must have fallen behind a desk." The thief just tried to use my card again (now locked) to add it to a digital wallet and now my card has been disabled. I am extremely disappointed in Drafthouse and suspect a member of their team instigated this fraud. I understand things happen, but to TRY and gaslight me into thinking that the card has been misplaced when I have provided proof otherwise is JUST WRONG. I can never return here knowing they hired someone who would do this AND WORST tried to convince me it "had fallen behind a desk" when clearly someone was around town using the card. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have filed a police report and find it so disheartening that people think they can steal from others without consequences. read more

Alamo Drafthouse in general is awesome. They're very creative in the events they put on, the businesses they partner with, and even their ads for their no-talking/no-late-arrival policy. I just went to the free advance showing of Amazon Video's Citadel, which was great. You pay $5 in advance, but that is applied to your food & beverage total as a voucher. During Black History Month, they did a free showing of In The Heat of The Night with the same setup (you buy $5 food voucher to be applied at theatre). I love seeing any of the Marvel movies at Alamo Drafthouse because they'll often do a full recap of all the movies in story order--including TV show story lines and movie story lines. SUPER helpful. Other watch parties they've done: Clueless (including props) and Singin' In The Rain, just to name a couple. And on Tuesdays you only pay $7 to see any movie, including new releases. The Crystal City location is impressive, considering it's pretty new. The staff is well trained, helpful, and friendly. I love that the seats recline AND you can get food. I always get the omnivore pizza and the chocolate chip cookies, and they're both great. Love the bottomless popcorn option, too. The parking is free--free on weekends, free after 4 pm. So pretty much anytime you'd want to see a movie. And if you want to check out an Amazon Fresh you can add that to your night out, since it's just a few doors down from the theatre. read more

I went to watch the new Creed movie. I love the fact that they have recliners and you are able to get food while watching the movie, however the service was terrible. We ordered our food at the beginning of the show. We didn't get our food until 15 minutes before the movie ended. I made a complaint to the manager and she refunded my order. The wait staff repeatedly ignored me and my friend to the point where we had to leave our seat and hand in the order. Ambiance is great. I would return. Maybe they were having a bad day. read more

I recently went to go see Guardians of the galaxy 3 and the service I received was awful. We ordered our food at the beginning of the movie: popcorn and a drink. They brought the popcorn late and it was definitely stale. Then, they brought me the wrong drink. I chose to not complain about the wrong drink because l didn't want to miss out on the movie. Then, they kept coming by to give us other people's drinks. They seemed really disorganized. I was also charged for 2 other drinks I didn't receive. The theater is nice but the high ticket price is not worth it. read more

Rating this 1 star based on the poor service received within the movie theater and leaving with five receipts to zero out items not ordered or received. This is the short version highlights, went to see Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 1 and: -I was brought a different seats order 4 different times within the first 60 minutes before the credits played for the end of 2nd season episode 11. -While using the restroom during the credits for the end of S2EP11, I was told by a different server my order had been sitting in the back for about 45-60 minutes, not to worry a new one would be made quick and the bill would be comp'd -20 minutes later (about 1.5hrs in) I was brought the cold order that had been sitting there which I gave back to them. This is after a different order was brought to me 10 minutes before. -I received a check with multiple items zeroed out on it, the philly cheesesteak that I had ordered and a pretzel that I did not order. Initially when I placed the order I confirmed with the wait staff that I just needed a philly cheesesteak and already had a soda I brought in from the bar that included refills. -I was charged for the soda that I had already purchased at the bar 10 minutes before entering the theater and been told by the bartender I would be able to take it into the movie theater for bottomless refills at no additional charge. The server told me I was charged because I got a refill. I told her not to worry I will talk to a manager after. Five minutes later she returned to tell me not to worry my check would be zeroed out, however, there was no zeroed out receipt like the previous one because my order was complicated but not to worry I would not be charged. -After the movie, I had to ask for the zeroed out check, which I then got the bill zeroed out. After driving 35 minutes and paying $16 for a ticket, frustrated was not able to relax for the movie and left hungry due to service blunders. At least the bar staff was great prior to entering the theater, but that was the only redeeming 10 minutes of the night here. read more

GREAT SERVICE! I know, I've read the reviews as well and I think the service you get depends on what day you go, what time you go, who your server is, and frankly if you're a polite and patient customer. My group of friends and I went to see Scream VI (great movie btw) on a Saturday at 5:30pm. The theater was relatively full. The recliner seats were so comfortable and spacious. About every seat in the theater has a clear view of the screen so pick anywhere. We arrived about 30 minutes early and we were greeted by our friendly server who explained to us how to order which was super easy. My boyfriend and I put in our drink and popcorn orders which came very quickly. The popcorn was delicious and the size was probably as much as a large at a normal theater so we didn't need to get a refill. We did refill the drinks however about four times and they came out quickly as well. We then ordered the loaded fries and mozzarella sticks which came out quick and warm. I loved the mozz sticks, the loaded fries were okay (quality was fresh, just personally didn't like the taste). Also I liked the no talking policy. For those that are concerned about wanting to make small comments to your friends or laugh or scream. All is perfectly fine. Just loud, obnoxious talkers will be kicked out so just keep it to a whisper/ low voice. Overall, I highly recommend coming here. It was a great experience and I can't wait to go back! read more

I want to see this theater succeed, largely because I think the events that it holds (e.g. screenings of older classic movies and movie parties) are cool. Right now, I think there are a few things holding it back, and I write in the interest of helping the theater realize its full potential. First, the food items. Of the food items I've tried, the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and the Monster Burger were really, really good. They were able to lettuce wrap the Monster Burger, which I appreciated, and it was delicious. The hot wings were pretty lousy. There is either not enough sauce or the sauce doesn't have enough of a punch. For whatever reason, the wings were somewhat bland. More importantly, there was not much meat and the meat that was on the bone was sometimes weirdly stuck to the bone in a way I haven't ever seen with other wings before. I did really like the ability to just press a button and have a glass of cold water delivered to my seat in the middle of the movie. (One minor point is that the straw that came with the water was a bit too short for the glass, so I had to pick up the straw a bit each time I wanted to take a sip). Finally, and I think most importantly, the noise. Although the theater seems to pride itself on being immersive and distraction-free (hence the no cell phones and no talking policy), there was some noise from the walkie-talkies of the staff that I could hear on more than a few occasions from my seat in the back row during the movie (I was in theater 3). This seemed to be coming from the staff hub near the entrance to theater 3. If willingness to innovate is any indication, I'm pretty optimistic that the theater will hone its craft with time and I could easily see this theater becoming once of the best places (if not the best place) in the DC area. read more

Worst Alamo drafthouse experience yet. Couldn't get their kitchen going, which it happens, sometimes you get slammed and the location is new. But you have to at least try to make things right, and not just say over and over you will fix things but do nothing. If you just lie and say you'll make it right, and managers and staff will say they will remove the food that you ordered BEFORE the movie and you still get charged for it, despite talking to staff and staying after the lights have come on, then I have to ask how you can't fulfill the bare minimum of removing charges for things you weren't able to deliver 2 hours later, at a bare minimum. read more

A solid 4/5 for the overall design/aesthetics of the theatre. However, at least the one I ended up go to the theatre was super small. And at first I liked the idea of having a menu to order food but honestly I think this concept is pretty awful. For starters you end up paying more with tips and such. And secondly it's a bit distracting having people waiting in the halls that you can see moving about getting orders. I prefer the old school experience of simply ordering your food at the counter. Who doesn't love watching a movie with food and a drank?? Had to check this out since it's right in my backyard. The place is very cute on the inside with a bar ( that has happy hour), multiple theaters , reclining seats snd of course wait service throughout the show, but please remember that the servers will be moving around throughout the movie if people keep ordering. Menu has a variety of food items but we had some hot wings and loaded fries which were both ok and I had a margarita which was strong enough. I really wanted the pineapple upside down donut holes but they were no longer on the menu (seasonal) :(. I did have a few issues; No one is there to point you in the direction to go once inside and no one even checked a ticket until I ordered food. I ordered cookies and they never came, couldn't get any napkins from the staff after asking ( went the bathroom and got some) and I had to go to the customer service desk to correct my check for the food I didn't get because the staff was not responding to the call button. Overall, I'd still go back here for a movie. They're still new, so a few hiccups they can overcome in due time. read more

I was there today for the 2:45 show of The Color Purple. The ambience was ok. The food was ok. The service was horrible. Perhaps, I expected luxury. I ordered popcorn, fries and a drink. My popcorn never arrived and I requested it 3 times. I went to speak to a manager and he pretty much insinuated that stuff happens. He was very condescending and dismissive. The worst of it all is that I had relatives here visiting and they did not receive all of their order. I won't be going back and wouldn't recommend this theatre to anyone. I came here on a whim to see the Barbie movie. It was in Dolby and I love Dolby movies which I did not see a Dolby option for Regal or AMC. This place is very nice. It is not like the older Alamo on Columbia Pike as it is much newer and larger. The decor and layout is very cool. I got a seat in the very back due to choosing last minute but it was a great row and would not mind sitting there again. Normally, I don't order food at movies but went for the whole experience. It was very enjoyable. You fill out a little paper and put it on the front of your table for the server to pick up. I got churro popcorn, a vegan pizza and banana daquiri. The drink was smaller than I expected arriving in a martini glass but apparently that's normal for daquiris. I was ignorant of that. It was tasty though. OMG the popcorn was listed as an appetizer for $11 bit it was huge. It was in a huge metal bowl like you would get with a family-sized dinner salad. It was very tasty and definitely would get it again and not get other food. They also have truffle parmesean popcorn which I would try. I think it took me like 45 minutes to eat it all. The pizza was good and I was glad they had vegan options. They had some other vegan food including vegan cookies. The vegan pizza was also really good. The seats recline which is always nice. And it looks like they have a bunch of fun interactive movie events where you get props or do things during the movie. For example, they have Good Burger and you get the paper hats they wear. I thought I would go out and not take my wallet but that is not the move as they don't take apple pay but actual cards. They accomodated me by taking my card number but probably something to keep in mind. I've never been to iPix or those kinds of movies so I have nothing to compare it to but this establishment is a welcome additon to the Arlington area. They also have a full bar. Also they do not tolerate disruptive patrons and let you know they will kick you out if they see it or if someone reports you. I think that's a nice policy to ensure a good experience. Made my first visit to Alamo Drafthouse for the Barbie movie. On the plus side, seats were comfy, and service was friendly. We arrived about 25 mins before the movie's start time and we're quickly greeted and had our orders taken. The food (I got a pizza) was fine. The only negative was the drinks - the cocktail descriptions sound great and with fresh ingredients, high end alcohol, fruit purées, etc. but mine was awful (and my friends said theirs weren't good either)- just sickeningly sweet. It was so bad that in a normal restaurant I probably would have sent it back, and I never do that. It also took close to 40 mins to arrive...I was almost done with my food and we were well into the previews before my drink showed up, so next time I would definitely just get a glass of wine or beer. read more
