Horrible service, took them three months to complete the order, they kept sending techs who were not able to get the measurements right and then they promised not to charge full price for the job and charged full price - which they cannot refund anymore cause the books are closed and now they are offering in store credit but they only do custom orders !! read more

I was apprehensive to take my business to this place, based on all the cruddy reviews. I needed a piece of glass for a framed picture. The measurements were 28x30 and Michaels wanted $108 (exceeded the entire cost of the entire framing job they originally charged). Alamo Glass people were helpful, professional, nice, quick and cheap - $25, all in 15 minutes! The original had a non-glare finish, but the front desk people showed me their regular finish and it was comparable to what Michaels placed in the frame. All good! read more

I called Alamo Glass on Friday morning asking a quote for an oval glass table top, size 75 by 48 inches. The employee I was transferred to (unfortunately I did not ask him his name) gave me a quote of 540.71 $ including taxes, for a 3/8 thickness, with standard flat polish edges. For the same size and thickness but with beveled edges it would be 767.01 He also argued that the shape, an oval, was a standard one, since the machine had one standard oval cut. If I wanted a custom cut, I had to provide the template and of course spend more. The delivery was 125 $. I then asked for a quote on a 1/2 inch thickness, at which point he said he would fax me all the quotes including the new one for 1/2 inch, plus a picture of the oval shape and the selected edge. Not receiving anything, neither a fax nor a call with the second quote, I called again today, Monday. I was transfered to a different guy. I asked him again for the quote of a standard oval glass table top 75 by 48 inches for 3/8 thickness. He gave me a quote of 702.96 $ incl taxes, plus 150 of delivery. He added I would have to provide also the template, because each oval shape can be different. I asked him the reason for the almost 200 dollars divergence from the quote his colleague had given me on Friday. He immediately became testy, saying that he is "the guy who is there every day", with no name offered, and adding that each shape is different, thus the price increase. I replied that his colleague had told me that they do have a machine which cuts a standard oval single. To this, he abruptly hanged the phone up on me, cutting my words in mid sentence. I, in turn, had patiently waited for him to conclude his "explanation". I cannot know if this "guy" is the owner of the business or what, but his sheer rudeness and lack of respect for potential customers deserve to be exposed and thus deserve, I believe, the little time I spent telling you this. Gave me a firm quote and then changed it. I requested a quote for frameless glass shower enclosure. I knew my dimensions, glass thickness, hardware, etc. A pleasant lady sent me a quote down to the penny and a sketch with my dimensions. They quoted with a channel and I replied I wanted it without. she gave me a new price to the penny and wrote "the dimensions might change slightly on final measurement, but no big deal." They sent two people out to measure and when I called back, they raised the price by about $250 and quoted a channel installation. They verified that the dimensions were exactly as I had given them, but the person said he was the only one with the authority to givea quote and the woman who provided the quote was only a receptionist. He insisted what I received was only a rough estimate, despite having the exact dimensions and providing a price in writting to the penny. Don't bother getting anything in writting from them, they won't stand behind it. read more

I needed 3 pieces of mirror cut and they wanted to charge me for 6 because it wasn't a big job. $45 for 3 square feet of mirror. No thanks.

Great service from Alamo Glass, which completely exceeded my expectations. I brought large a broken David Marshall mirror to them in complete desperation, thinking it could never be repaired. They weren't sure they could do the job either, but a few weeks later I got a call to say it was ready. They went over and above, hand cutting, painting and repositioning the design on a 3ft wide circular glass mirror. Despite doing a lot more than just replacing the glass, they only charged the original price quoted for the glass. Alamo Glass are good people! read more

Over the past two years we have made three separate purchases from Alamo Glass. We have been happy with the service each time. This last time we've been trying to get some mirrors cut and asked to have the mirrors re-cut three separate times due to a combination of not being able to measure and not knowing what we want. We needed a 3/8" piece of glass custom cut 32"x 96" with flat polished edges to be used as a desk top. We received prices and time frames from 3 local companies and 3 distant companies. Alamo Glass had reasonable prices and provided me with a quote and answered my questions on my first call. We ordered from them and the glass was delivered as promised, which was earlier than any of the other companies. The two men who delivered it were extremely nice and professional and took care to protect the pane and clean it before putting it it's final resting place. I highly recommend Alamo Glass. read more

Alamo came to my home exactly when they said they would arrive, called 30 minutes prior to arrival, took a look at the job, quoted it on the spot, and then completed it 3 days earlier than I expected at the cost they quoted. I went in to get some glass cut for an aquarium sump. The lady up front was very nice and helpful. I went there late in the day, after 3pm and wasn't surprised when she told me the glass would be ready the next morning. That sounded fair to me. About an hour later, I got a call saying my glass was ready. I wasn't expecting it to be ready so soon. They exceeded my expectations. I was so happy and now I am able to start my project. I can honestly say that I thought this was the company that could do the work for me. It turned out so badly. Not only did my paperwork and work order not get processed for three weeks, but then we got though that. After admitting they dropped the ball, they still said they could do the job. Two days later I receive an email saying that they were declining my job. When I called back to discuss, I was hung up on. Extremely poor customer service. Put my remodel back at least a month. Got the window measured, then never called me to arrange a time for replacement. Then never called me to tell me they were going to miss the appointment. Tried to get a price on 153 shower doors for a multifamily project. Called on multiple occasions after they said they would price. The final time I called (2 weeks after plans were sent) they were very rude and said they just would not price it. Really? How many $50,000 glass jobs does a company like this get? Absolutely no stars for this company. I am appalled that it took them three weeks to get out to my house and replace a broken window. The window was broken because someone broke into my house and robbed my family. Last Friday there was a flood where we live and I still had no window to protect us from the rain, and water got into our home. Then when the guys finally came out to replace the glass they hand me a work order with a price on it for $150 more than I was originally quoted!! And they knew that I had been robbed and now they are trying to add insult to injury and rob me and my family again?!? These people are crooks and completely unprofessional. Shower enclosure - did not use these guys; they never showed up for the estimate appt. There is the running joke abt the huge window of time the cable guy gives for when he will show up, ruining your whole day. But at least it's just one day. Alamo Glass over here gave me a 2 DAY window within which they were supposedly going to come over. So I waited, 2 days. No one showed. I did get a call several days later asking "how about today?". I said no. And the front-office woman could definitely use some manners. Additionally, there is the company's (I believe it is the front-office woman) response to a reviewer who said they did a crappy job on some windows they were supposed to repair before he bought a house - read it. It's telling. The response was something to the effect that "warranties don't transfer." In effect, what Alamo is saying is that they knew the house was getting sold, they could not be held liable by the new owner, so they did a half-assed job on the windows. Nasty. Small does not have to mean unprofessional. read more

Terrible customer service! I needed to have mirrors installed in a garage that we converted to a workout room. Someone from Alamo arrived and took measurements. I could tell he wasn't sure what he was doing. The job required someone that had some skill in figuring out how to maneuver around a sprinkler system box, and tv that mounts to the wall. I used another company in the past to install mirrors in our garage in our old home. I thought I would give Alamo a try because someone referred me. Big mistake! After the guy left, he said he would get back to me with an estimate. Weeks went by and I finally decided to give Alamo a call. The lady that answered looked up my job and said, 'We have decided to decline your job!' It would have been nice if someone would have called me and told me that. Like I said, I could tell the guy measuring had no clue. I should have guessed something like that was going to happen. I have no problem with the fact that they didn't want to tackle my job. My issue is that nobody called me to tell me. It is funny, however, that the other company I am using had no issues at all with the complexity of the job.
