I had a great rental experience at Alamo in Medford. The lady who checked me in was nice and quick. The car itself was great, I loved my Rav4. And the guy who was there when I brought it back could not have been nicer and went out of his way to make my return quick and easy. They had a system failure and charged my card multiple times causing it to go over credit limit then declined my and flagged it as a prepaid card(booking.com CC visa) and my husband had to use his card and i still have not gotten a refund for the first time they charged my card. It had been in limbo pending for 14 days. Amd again they told me that I violent use my booking.com visa there ever again because their Ai system flagged it as prepaid. They never reached out to me to resolve this like I asked them to but simply said I could use a different card next time. And the whole purpose, forgetting the credit card booking dot com was to put all my travel on it.I really enjoy the card.But with alamo I will never rent with them again read more

Alamo @ Medford was the worst rental experience ever, no people in queue however, still had to wait for an hour. Employees kept convincing us to change the car because of unavailability and even after our agreement they couldn't arrange what they said was available and after an hour of waiting they turn Employee did lie about manager not being there but the manager was inside. Good part was that manager tried her best to handle the situation and the employees went an extra mile to help us know about the place, however, at the end the experience was bitter. Even after this trouble and waiting for the car for 1 hr we finally got  a car which kept on complaining about the oil change.  Interesting point is that upon my review on google they left a note to send the details on cc email however, you know what they never even acknowledge the email and you will have no response from them. I've alway used Alamo at the Medford airport and usually have no issues until recently. I rented a late model Toyota Camry and after a round of golf unfortunately locked my keys in the trunk. [side note: some brainiac at alamo decided to issue both sets of keys to their renters and you can't separate them. So if you lose one, you lose both. Real smart.] Unfortunately the Camry does not have an external trunk release. When I used the FOB to open the trunk, it did not unlock the car so you can see where this is going. I reached out to Alamo and they issued a 3rd party service truck who was able to get into the car, but without the FOB the car assumed it was being stolen so the Alarm blared and the electronic button trunk release was inactivated. The only option was to try access the trunk from the back seat. Unfortunately, the only way to release the seat is from inside the trunk. The serviceman attempted to gain access to the trunk in various ways and as I was on the phone most of this time, I do not know exactly what he tried, but he eventually gave up and I was left in a dark empty parking lot with no options. Eventually, around mid-night, I made my way to the Medford Airport and regaled the person at the Alamo desk of my trials. Of course, they had no keys for this car. They also refused to rent me another vehicle. I went to Avis and paid $400 for another car (for 1 day). I had to fly home without my golf clubs and my wallet, being locked in the trunk. Alamo had the car towed to a Toyota dealership to have the trunk opened. A few weeks later I was able to reclaim my clubs and wallet, but the $200 golf travel bag that was in the back seat had mysteriously disappeared. Fast forward a few weeks and I receive notification that I am being charged over $800 for repairs to the backseat of the car. Damage that was apparenly inflicted by the serviceman who attempted to gain access to the trunk. Despite my informing many Alamo officials that whatever was done to the back seat was not my doing, they still proceeded to send the bill to a collection agency and inform me that I will never be allowed to rent from Alamo (including Enterprise/National) again. Now that is some customer service. So at the end of all this, Alamo cost me over $1400 for something that could be easily avoided by keeping one key behind the desk. My flight was arriving at 10:35 pm from Seattle with delta and I called twice today office if Alamo Rent A Car office to make sure someone will be at the counter . I left my phone number to call me but none called me back! I am at Medford airport now . No one at the Alamo counter . Asking around . Trying to find out from other car rentals where to go and what to do. It is now 11 pm !!! After a long day traveling I am getting stressed . Finally someone told me to go get my car rental at national rent a car desk . I had no idea . I will never rent from Alamo Rent A Car ever again and will rent from Avis As Avis had some one at the counter . I am appalled that no one called me today ! So unprofessional! Highly disappointed. Reserved a compact car due to an elderly family member having trouble getting into most cars, and somehow ended up with a large truck that would be impossible for her to get into. We asked for a different car and the front desk person insisted that there were a lot of rentals out today and that we didn't have any better options, but when we went out to the parking lot, there were plenty of cars under Alamo that were not in use and would have been much closer to what we requested. Beyond frustrating. I arrived on time for my rental only to stand in line for over 40 minutes because they didn't have anyone working the Alamo counter. It wasn't an odd hour. It was NOON. The National car rental counter was pulling double duty. Once I got checked in (40 mins later) I learned that the car I reserved wasn't ready. I was told it would be another half hour/45 minutes until my car was ready. Awful. read more

I rented a car from the Medford Airport Alamo just before Thanksgiving. We got in on a horrible evening -- 50mph winds, snow, and no power at the airport. However, the Alamo counter people were able to write a contract by hand. We went out to our car in the pitch dark parking lot (hard to find in those conditions), exited the unsecured parking lot, and drove to our destination about 40 miles away. Four days later, we returned the car mid-morning in perfect condition -- no change from when we picked it up. But being an unsecured, unstaffed lot, we just parked it and returned the keys to the rental desk in the airport. That night we got a call from Alamo saying we had extensive damage to the car and hadn't told them. What?!? There was NO damage to the car when we dropped it off. But since no one checked the car when we brought it in, it sat in that lot until someone looked at it 8 hours later. I think another car probably backed into that one as it sat there, long after we turned in the keys. So it's their word against ours and we will have to pay for damages ($1200) that someone else did. Lessons learned: 1.) Don't rent from Alamo or their affiliates; 2.) Take time-stamped photos of the car when you pick it up and when you drop it off; and 3.) Try not to rent a car from a rental company with an unsecured lot. Obviously, I'm furious with Alamo and the whole system of blaming the last renter for damage incurred by others. First off let me say that yes, poor company policies are not always the fault/responsibility of the employees. However, being a decent human being is. I came in three days in a row to this place trying to rent a car, got the same older women each time.The first day I was pleasant to her and asked to rent a car, and asked the policies (which are also printed at the bottom of the confirmation in which all it says is you need a debit card and they will put a hold of 250 on your card which I was fine with). I let her know I was needing a car for a week and was going to be returning it on the east coast. She just shook her head and rudely stated she didn't have cars. I asked her when the next one was available and she said she didn't know, maybe tomorrow. I proceeded to let her know that it makes no sense for her to not know when the cars she rented out would be back. She said she knew when they were being returned but didn't know which ones were not already booked upon their arrival. Which i again responded with the well you should be able to tell when a car is available. She just looked at me like I was rude for inquiring about how she does her job, and told me she had no idea, but I should go online and look. So I left just thinking you know this is about the kind of service I expect from some low IQ individual working for 13 bucks an hour in some Middle of nowhere airport, maybe I'll just do what she said and book online. So I did. Got confirmation number. I go in and see the same lady the next day. I show her my confirmation and She said that I needed a flight back, which I didn't understand why, but I was going to fly back anyways so I went home and booked a flight and planned to come in the next day. That day I call in to the customer service and I ask if there is anything I need other than my debit card and the man on the phone tells me no all I need is the debit card and flight back to Medford. I see the same lady at the counter and let her know I have a confirmation number and flight back and she asks for my id and a credit card. In which I inform her I am paying with a debit card. She goes "ohh well there is totally different criteria for people who live in town, you need a utility bill and a pay stub and references." I tell her literally word for word I was driving to Atlanta from here and flying back? Why would she not think I am from Medford?? I have only been coming in for three days, of course I live here! I wanted to rent a car to drive to Atlanta from Medford, and I show her that I have a ticket back to Medford from Atlanta scheduled for 2 weeks later, why would anyone with an IQ above room temperature think I am not a local. This lady just absolutely grins with pleasure telling me that I am SOL because I am a local and they have different policies for locals renting cars and returning them to a different location. I told her the company was better off hiring a brick wall then her. I am self employed, half her age, and make minimum 10x what she makes. I could probably buy this particular branch and fire her if I wanted to. I don't have a credit card because I don't need one, I can buy whatever i want cash. Rich people don't get "pay stubs", and we certainly don't have utility bills piled up on our countertops ready to show to some peon at a car rental counter. I mean you just got to be kidding me. I was willing to pay over a grand to rent a car and you turn me down like I'm dirt. I can't show her a paystub, but I can show her a business account with high six figures sitting in it. Is that enough to rent your POS kia?! I think so. Summary Went in to same location three days in a row and told lady my itinerary (rent in Medford drive to ATL one way) Day 1- said no cars available and book online Day 2- says need a flight back Day 3- checks my ID to finally realize I am a local (something she assumed I was not based on extremely faulty low IQ logic) goes on to tell me locals have different criteria and I need a utility bill and paystub and references. read more

When I told her this she said she would get me next time, indeed. This last week I returned and Tess gave me a Brand New Chrysler 300c, that is a Spectacular Car, So Roomy, powerful, It was Luxury all the way.
