Alan is a gem! I have an old Specialized bike (same one I've had since middle school) and I've taken it to him 2 times now. My first visit was to get a new tube, he replaced it right in front of me while we chatted (quite enjoyable!!) and I was on my way in 15 minutes. Just this week I paid him a visit to get my front wheel fixed (it was bent). He kept the bike overnight and let me know the next day of a few other things he found, including a cracked rim. Alan is great! I gave him a challenge and he passed with flying colors... My son has an electric scooter (like a razor scooter) that had a flat on the back tire. I took it to a number of bike shops and they said they couldn't fix it. Alan took on the challenge. It was a complicated repair because he had to take apart the housing of the electric motor and order a custom tube. I took my kids here to buy used bikes. Alan is the most helpful kind person! He let my kids try numerous bikes before they settled on what they wanted. His prices were very fair. He told us if we had any issues we should come back and he would take care of it. Well, the only issue we had was my son derailing his chain because he didn't know how to properly switch gears. He got things out of alignment and we needed some help. I took the bike back to Alan and he got the bike going again. He didn't charge us even though it was our fault. Took my grandfathers bike there for a tune up, it's been sitting in the garage since the 70's, Alan got her running like new with new tires and adjustments to the old school gear settings/set up plus adjustment to get the brakes all good for use. I have used Yelp religiously for years, but have not been sufficiently motivated to write a review until now. If I could give Alan more than 5 stars I would. Alan has tuned up our beach cruisers on multiple occasions. The last time I took my daughter's beach cruiser in, he showed me the damage to the rear wheel hub and explained how it just wasn't worth the cost of fixing it. I thanked him for his honesty and went on my way. Lo and behold, Alan calls me the next day and says he has something to show me. Intrigued, I head over to his shop to find out that he had found a way to retool my daughter's bike with old parts from other bikes and make solid again. All of this, for a very small cost. He just couldn't sleep without trying to find a way to make it rideable again. My daughter was ecstatic to say the least. Alan is honest, friendly, fair and fast!
