What a horrific experience. Well, that's not completely accurate. My first sales guy Peter was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, when I returned the following day to sign papers, he wasn't available. I was handed off to a 20 year old kid who could barely answer my questions, let alone handle a sale on his own. They had hand off tactics, sharky sales talks, and just bad practice in general. After given a ridiculous price on a car, I expressed that in no way was I going to pay sticker price. He asked for my counter, which was $3500 below MSRP. Not unreasonable in my opinion. He returns 25 minutes later saying he can't come close. I tell him thanks but no thanks, and walk for the door. No harm no foul at this point. Another kid who couldn't be older than 22 literally CHASES me to the door with the quote page. He starts in on how I'm insane for asking them to come down that low. To be fair, when I offered that price, I hadn't yet seen the invoice. Kid #2 tells me I'm stupid and ridiculous for even thinking they'd do that for me. He then insults me further by offering me less for my vehicle in an I'm-smarter-than-you-but-I'm-a-tiny-man-with-a-complex kind of attitude. This was the wrong way to talk to me.... it then resulted in me shouting at him for being unprofessional, rude, and downright insulting. Little brat. Is that really the way you treat someone who is trying to spend $25,000 in your store? Methinks not. Mind you, this shouting match happened in the showroom as they were trying to lock down at least 2 other sales. The low-road person in me really hopes they lost out on those deals as a result of his idiocy. I bought a Ford after that. ;o) read more

I have been trying to find a new car that I want to own for about six months. I've been into Webb Mazda with no success. I've been thinking of trying again, but just got thru reading all the reviews and have decided it isn't worth the stress and frustration to even try dealing with these guys. Never taking my car to this dealership again. I had to schedule an appointment 3 weeks before at 8am because they had no other openings which I was fine with. mind you I live and hour and a half away so I had to leave my house at 6:30am to drop off my vehicle because my car kept popping a code up (PO302). so I showed up at 8am and they were kind enough to give me a lyft to my friends house. Several hours (4) went by with no calls or texts about my car. I was wondering when they'd call me and tell me about my car because its only supposed to be a one hour diagnostic. So I called an asked about my car and the lady upfront who answered the call was very rude and not helpful, wouldn't tell me anything about my car because it wasn't her job. so I got irritated and took an Uber there. Once I got there the lady I had spoke with on the phone kept arguing with me that there was nothing she could do. I had dropped it off with a different lady this morning she had went on lunch without calling or texting me about my car and I felt that was a wrong way to handle your responsibilities as a front desk lady so I got irritated and waited for her to be off her lunch for another hour. So I've waited for 5 hours to see what's up with my car. Once she got back from lunch she went to go look at the computer to check out my car and they haven't even started! When I was the first car to be there. So I asked her " why did I have to be here at 8am in the morning for you to now start my car at 2 o'clock?"She had no response. So I waited there for another 2 hours to make sure they'd actually check out my car. After the 7 hours in total, when it was only supposed to "take and hour and 45 mins at most" to tell me a list of things that needed to be fixed instead of the one thing I needed to be answered. I truthfully am not one to usually write a review, but I think these guys deserve one. Take note too, that I have owned 32 vehicles in 11 years, so I have had plenty of experiences with dealerships. I apologize for the long winded review. My first few experiences were exclusively with the service department. I had bought an RX8 and wanted it to be checked out from top to bottom. They walked me through it showing me everything about the car and the service guy was clearly an enthusiast. We talked at length about specific tips to maintain the unique rotary engine. Every interaction with the service department has been fast (a thing that is VERY rare among dealership service shops) and they are easy to work with. Now the sales process. My job had changed and it was time to get rid of my RX8 and get something with better gas mileage. So I began my discussion here while servicing the RX8, I was interested in the price and mileage of the 3, but ultimately it left me desiring a little more. The sales person said "hey I think you should check out the 6" I did and I fell in love with the car but did not want to make my decision till I saw all my other options. Here is where most dealerships get annoying, but instead the sales person said "absolutely, it's a good idea to look at all your options. Here is my card and call me if you decide to move forward with the 6, and I'd love to know if you find something better." Well I didn't find anything better and I ended up leasing the 6, which was recommend by the dealership based on how often I change vehicles. Only one year later, my job once again changed and my financial position was strenuous. So I approached the subject of selling the car back to them, and I could not have been happier about how they handled it. The same sales person helped me and in less then an hour I was out of my lease. They gave me an amount I still kind of feel bad for accepting, and just said "remember us when you are looking in the future." Last part of my long review. Today my wife and I went shopping for a new car specifically for her. She liked the CX5 and we worked with a different sales person to iron out the numbers. The process was once again easy, no excessive back and forth tactics or sales manager coming out to "close the deal". In the end, they gave my wife a choice of sparkly new key chains and had her take pictures pulling off the plastic of her new car, which was surprisingly exciting for her as this was her first brand new car. We had a great buying experience with Bano! He gave us ample time to explore our options and was always warm, accommodating, and was never once pushy. We worked with him for four days and took up at least 20-30 hours of his time! I don't think you can find that kind of dedication to quality service with any other salesperson or at any other dealership in the area. We have always been Alan Webb buyers because it was the easiest, least pushy searching or buying experience we have had when looking for and purchasing our last 3 vehicles. Now that we have worked with Bano at the Mazda dealership, it will be our first stop for every car buying experience we have from now on. If you are car shopping in Vancouver and considering any alan web vehicles, Stop by this place and ask for Bano! Oh and on a side note to the guy shopping for the minivan, it's not Bano's fault or Alan Webb's that you decided to procrastinate going van shopping until your wife was heavily pregnant, maybe your should have started that process several months earlier. ALSO you didn't mention what the vehicle was listed at or what the price drop was or what they offered you. No other specifics except "we had $18000 and they wouldn't do the deal" were given for fellow reviewers to judge whether they really did or did not "come close". Honestly people DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Anyone who has an ounce of financial know-how for any vehicle you are interested in purchasing ANYWHERE you should know the market value (websites such as NADA, KBB, Edmunds) as well as some comparable vehicles at other lots. I had done all my research and test driven the Mazda 6--I just needed a dealership that would give me the price I wanted. I was in touch with the various local dealers and had basically put my offer out there. The first one to take it, I'd buy that day. I have to say, Madison Williams in Internet Sales was so responsive and eager to get me the deal I wanted. I told her I didn't want to drive all the way to Vancouver only to find out they wouldn't honor the deal we agreed to by email. I sent photos and details of of my trade in and she worked with her sales manager to determine if they could accommodate my deal. She said they could. I drove to Vancouver, and though there was some push back once they examined my trade-in, they ultimately honored the deal. I drove away with a gorgeous 2015 Mazda 6 Touring. I am in love with it! I think Maddie was as excited as I was. I appreciated her enthusiasm and excitement for me. Because Vancouver is a bit of a drive for Oregonians, I think the Alan Webb dealership is more willing to negotiate than the Portland-area dealers. You don't pay sales tax if you can prove you're an Oregon resident, so when you're ready to buy, ask for Maddie. read more

I had a set appointment with Olivia to test drive and I sat and waited for over 20 minutes for the car that I asked for to show up. He helped me with a free rental car so that I didn't have to wait around with a 3 year old all day and my car was ready when promised. I have a hilariously long list of how these people screwed me over 3 years ago but today I found out through my loan lender they managed to tack on 6,000$$$ extra in itemized bs fees without even mentioning over half of them and when we noticed off the bat our first bill balance was high they said it was because it showed the total balance with interest and that it would fall lower the more we paid. Today I found out that no, we still owe almost what we originally thought we were paying for the car. I can't even get into the issues we had with our license plate, tires, title, rental service (that's a gem of a story) , not to mention they couldn't be bothered to give us 2 car keys like every other dealership on earth. Later that day I got a call stating that a lot of the work was done less than two years ago and my bill was cut by $200. I brought up a listing I was interested in 2016 Grand Touring listed for around $22,000 and asked if he would work with me on the price, but he said no. I felt like it would have been a nice gesture after the previous manager Ray offered me a car and then basically said just kidding, to budge on the price, but he wouldn't even consider it. He contacted me again (I'm assuming because you saw this review) and offered me the high mile model which I already said I wasn't interested in. I was really hoping he would make things right, but he really didn't make much of an effort. I have since purchased a car at Jim Doran Auto in McMinnville that was everything I was looking for. I never felt deceived or pushed in anyway. They were willing to work with me and lowered the price twice to get it closer to my budget. I would recommend driving to any other dealer even if it's 50+ miles. There's a reason Alan Webb has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. read more

He was very helpful and attentive to our needs. What I appreciated most is that he was aggressive enough but knew not to over step that car salesman line as we had MANY different options available to us. Very disappointing experience. My wife is pregnant with our third, It is time to get a minivan, we are due in 10 days. She looks online and she finds this van at the that dealer. emails are exchange thru the week, they dropped the price. We get a call from a kind sale rep. Bono. and we talk. we just sold our car and we get $18000. so we called back and said well here it is, we have cash 18000 really can't afford to get much more, will you bring your price down. Bono, talks to his manager. and the answer is WE will come close ! So my wife says specifically you are not just saying this to get us on the lot, we will drive tomorrow morning we will be there at 9 but you will be able to get us a better price. you will not waste our time and gas driving 80 minutes round trip. just to get us on the lot ? NO WE WILL COME CLOSE. At this point I blame the manager, why say this... you guessed it when we get there, of course the price is as his , the manager says we can not come down, it is a good deal. I am loosing money already, blalblabla. I would buy this van at an auction at for that price.... I said I am sorry i do not trust you anymore, you say one thing and do an other when we get there. And then he said something of the kind: WELL GUEST LIE TO US ALL THE TIME ! I thought you have a high opinion of your guests. And I wlaked away with my money and my business. Horrible customer service. I was helping a friend look for a car because his lease was up on his Toyota. We went to Mazda since we'd heard good things about the 6 series. At the start, things went well. Then the sales person (Gabriel) had to step away to help another client. He left the keys with us while we looked at a car. We weren't interested in that car and ended up wandering into the showroom to return the keys. We decided to ask for help viewing another car since our original dealer was still helping his other customer. We were limited on time, and expressed the fact that we had already been waiting a while, and were told to "Come back when we had more time." Who says that? After that, we walked out and will not be returning and my friend will not be buying a Mazda. read more

Deceptive sales tactics. I was lied to by 2 sales people (typical car dealer BS). I caught them on the quality lies, but then their delays forced me to return a second day to pick up the car, at which point the salesman was no longer there, but another uninterested salesman took his place. When I arrived, the batter was dead, and he broke the battery cover to the car I agreed to purchase, and tried to cover it up when I watched him break it. Then the service department said testing the dead battery of the car I just bought would take all day (which is a lie), so they couldn't do it. I just spent $20k at your dealership, and you can't test a dead battery when I come to pick up the car, after forcing me to come back a second day? After a jump start I drove away unhappy and remain unhappy, so much so that I'm getting rid of the car I bought from them, because I don't want to be reminded of the experience. This type of environment is fostered by the sales manager. Avoid until they have a better reputation. read more

I bought a new Mazda at Alan Webb last month. They were helpful and responsive during the sales process, but since then my experience has gone dramatically downhill. I have contacted them several times with questions that should have been reasonably simple for any dealer (satellite radio and license plate status), but they have never responded. I had to escalate to Mazda customer service to get any answers at all. Even after Mazda customer service contacted Alan Webb, they still have not responded to me, at all. I have purchased over twenty new cars, and this is by far my least satisfactory experience with a dealer. Not knowing the answer to a question is fine (though mine were *really* basic questions) but never responding to multiple contacts (voicemails and emails over the course of several weeks) is completely unacceptable. read more

The most horrific car buying experience I have ever had! My husband took me out to buy a car for my birthday and we test drove and fell in love with a car at Alan Webb Mazda. We sat down and started all the paperwork. I was feeling so excited about getting this new car. When our paperwork was almost completed another dealer comes by and asked to "borrow" the keys for "a few minutes". She takes the keys and 20 minutes later we are informed that she just sold our car to someone else. I recently purchased my Mazda CX-5 and couldn't be happier. I contacted the dealer through the internet and was quickly in touch with Dominic Pinzone. Dominic went above and beyond to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. They didn't have the model I wanted on the lot and needed to get it from Beaverton. Beaverton said it would be 4 days before it could be transferred to Vancouver. I was given a loner. Dominic personally drove to Beaverton and picked up my car so I could have it the next day. I purchased a Used car about a month ago as son as i drove it off the lot the airbag light came on, I'm still waiting for a call that Chris said he would make too grey this fixed! I then had to replace the Used tires they put on with the wrong lug nuts, here is three worst part after driving on these for a month the tire business informed me that the left front was only hand tightened! I had a great experience at Alan Webb Mazda, thanks largely to Cody and financial manager Jacob. Cody is a personable guy who I genuinely believe is looking to get the best deal for his customers. I called to get a price on a 2014 Mazda3 i Grand Touring, spoke with Cody, and within 10 minutes he called back with a quote that I was quite happy with. I circulated the quote with Herzog Meier (who didn't even make a cursory effort at competing with the quote I was sent), and I probably could have taken the quote back to Gladstone and worked the back-and-forth, but frankly, the quote was a REALLY good price. Now, the horror stories you hear usually involve people getting one price over the phone and getting slipped hidden fees. That didn't happen here. Cody was very up front with the fees before I even drove to the lot. $150 doc fee-- which frankly is not surprising-- and of course the $379 titling fee for a four-year registration in Multnomah County. The whole process from when I stepped on the lot to when I drove off was two hours, and 30 minutes of that was my scrutinizing the loan documents. I was a potential cash buyer. I told this to Cody, and he said, "The best price is going to be through financing." This is typical (the dealership gets more incentives if they finance it because Mazda makes money off the loans, which is kind of obvious). Alan Webb and Mazda Capital Services have no origination fees and no pre-payment penalty, so it didn't matter if I took out a loan since I can pay it off next month (though, I qualified for their 0.9% financing, so there's almost no point in paying it off). The price he quoted me over the phone was the exact price that was reflected on the loan documents. Jacob was very professional, didn't make any attempts to sell any extras. He was very patient when I asked to examine the loan document. Now, I did a lot of internet research and knew what to expect. I think people who have bad experiences at dealerships are just unprepared, frankly. Or they look at the experience as an adversarial one, and they feel that "getting over" on the dealer is somehow a win. If you go into a dealership asking for the lowest monthly payment, then frankly, you're a sucker. If you go in and tell them what your exact expectations are, then this team absolutely honors their word. I'm here to tell you: the price was totally fair. Cody was completely straight with me. Jacob was totally professional. The deal was above board, and nobody tried to sneak one past me. Call Alan Webb. Ask for Cody. Get a great price. That's all there is to it. Seriously. read more

I bought 2 2013 Mazda 3's, one for my wife and one for me. The buying experience was pain free and easy. Last week I noticed some paint coming off the hood of the wife's car. I took it in expecting them just to fix it up since we have only had the vehicle for 1 1/2yr. A front desk women and manager came out took a peek and said this is tree sap damage and they aren't going to cover damage. I didn't say anything because I was in shock. I also am a disabled veteran that suffers from sevier anxiety so I am very soft spoken now. I took the car to a body shop and they laughed about it being tree sap damage. They said that this hood had been painted before and that this is paint failure. When I took this information to Mazda they told me that only one person can approve this being fixed and they only come in once a month. So here I wait for a call from Mazda saying bring it in. I know I will end up having to drop over a 1000 dollars on a brand new car. All I wanted them to do is the right thing. I highly encourage anyone to shop anywhere else because dealing with this is just so frustrating and ridiculous. read more

After signing a sales contract, I was asked to take time out of my busy work week to go back in and sign a NEW contract because they finance department had made a mistake by promising a payment deferral. The new agreement stated Alan Webb Mazda would make the first payment on my behalf but FAILED to make the first payment! Now, with late fees incurred - credit report takes a hit. Just spent the evening with a nice salesman whose hands are tied by disingenuous managers. They listed a vehicle on their website for 15,999. and showed a photo of it sitting there with the factory alloy wheels. I liked it. Called and told them I was on my way. When I got there they said, no, it was 16,800. And it had some goofy looking aftermarket wheels. which they couldn't replace with the factory wheels because that is the way they took it in. Really? Look at your own website boys! And by the way we added a safety feature which all of our customers want--a flashing brake light. That is included with the price, right NO it's extra. Well it can't be much since they sell these things on Amazon for 25 bucks. Actually it's 300 Dollars. I thought the dark ages of car sales were over. Not at Alan Webb Mazda!! read more
