Mike was an amazing charter master and guide.  I was set up on three different trips on 3 different boats. I was set up with an amazing cabin with an insane view! First trip was on the Kesilof fishing for salmon with Felix as my guide. Felix was too nitch and i caught my king salmon limit and 1 sockeye.  Second trip booked was a halibut trip out of Homer with  Maverick charters. Had an amazing day caught 10 halibut and left with the 2 allowed. But the best part of the trip was with Mike fishing the reserve on the Kenai.  Was one of the best days of fishing of my life and he was an excellent instructor as well as im not the best with fly rods and i did very well.  Caught some of the biggest trout ive ever caught and more than i can remember.  We snapped pics of few but released them all fast so they went back healthy.  Mike even put me on some sockeyes.  Mike provided a nice healthy lunch for each trip.  I cant praise him enough on his professionalism.  I will be back again to fish with him. Thanks Mike!

Incredible!! After many years fishing with Mike I'll say it again what a great time! A super helpful guide who takes the time to teach and reteach as needed someone like myself who is new to fly fishing. We are always on the fish, on the hunt for more and in some of the most amazing scenery the world has to offer. Book a full day without hesitation. You'll be glad you did!

My father and I have planned for years to take a fishing trip to Alaska. We had never been to Alaska, I had never fly fished, and I can promise you that without Mike's guidance we would have been totally lost. Mike met us at our hotel, ready to roll at 3:45am. Honestly I thought it was a little early, but who am I to question the guide? After arriving, gearing up, and the basic instructions we were on the river fishing. It quickly became apparent why Mike wanted to be there as early as possible, the Russian River gets crowded and if you're not early you end up fishing the leftovers. Our day was awesome. He so efficiently taught me, a guy who had never held a fly rod before, how to fly fish for sockeye salmon, that we hit our limit before 8:00am! We are beyond grateful for our experience. I could go on for several more pages, but suffice to say that had Mike not lent his expertise, the quality of our 10 day fishing trip would have been two stars at most.

Mike Adams was the first Alaskan guide I fished with over 10 years ago. My husband loved to fish but I always thought I would hamper his enjoyment if he was worried about me. Mike is extremely patient and a wonderful teacher. It is because of Mike that I have also developed a love of fishing. We fished often with Mike during our 2 year assignment in AK and he was by far the best guide we found. He was a great host to the friends who visited to fish and they all still talk about the experience. After returning to Texas, we returned this past fall to fish again with Mike. He is still the best. Specifics: clean boat; top notch equipment; knowledge of the river and the fish and wildlife; conservationist; very safety-minded with novices and experienced fishermen.... just a few reasons he is the standard. Most importantly, Mike enjoys being on the water as much as you do and it shows in the time you spend with him. You can look forward to a memory-maker every time you fish with Mike.

Came to Alaska to visit family with my fishing obsessed boyfriend knowing we needed to take him fishing and we couldn't have picked a better guide to take us. My Dad gifted us this trip after going out with Mike serval times in the past and raved about him so we knew we were in for a treat. He did not disappoint, we had an amazing time on the river. Mike is very professional and patient showing you the proper techniques to land the big ones. We all got some nice Reds and spent the second half of the trip drifting down the river for trout and got some beautiful Rainbows. This was by far the highlight of the whole trip, we'll definitely be using Alaska Angling Adventures again.

We took our family on a guide down the Kenai with this company. We required three guides due to the size of our group. We were lucky to get to know Mike, Mike and Jeff. I specifically was in the boat with Mike (Evans perhaps is his last name?). He has such a magnetic personality and kept the trip so enjoyable. He also knew the river well and so many fishing tips. He gave us such positive criticism and truly wanted us to be successful. You cannot go wrong by booking with this group. They made this the highlight of our trip -- and we did a lot of things while in Alaska! It makes me want to stay in touch. We kind of bonded! Thanks so much guys!!!

Two words come to mind when describing our experience: STRANDED and COMMUNICATION--or, more…read moreaccurately, the lack of it. My 14-year-old grandson and I had carefully planned and greatly anticipated this fishing trip. We arrived at the Cooper Landing office area two hours early, believing that was where our trip would begin. While waiting, we watched several groups meet guides, get into vans, and leave for their fishing destinations. Our email stated that we would be fishing "on the Kasilof River, about an hour from Cooper Landing." I understood that to mean we would be transported there--especially after watching other groups leave from the office in vans. At no point did I understand that we were expected to drive ourselves to an unspecified meeting location an hour away. The office was unlocked but unattended. When our departure time came and went, I called and spoke with someone I believe was named Dave. Rather than calmly addressing what was clearly a communication problem, he became defensive and scolded me, repeatedly insisting that I had received an email telling me where to meet. I tried several times to move the conversation away from assigning blame and toward finding a solution. Eventually, arrangements were made for us to drive to a specified location and join the trip. Once on the river, things improved considerably. Our guide was fairly inexperienced in the area, but very good. He worked extremely hard, and everyone in our boat caught their limit. He deserves considerable credit for turning a very disappointing beginning into an enjoyable fishing experience. Unfortunately, the disorganization returned at the end of the day. After reaching the takeout point, we expected transportation to be waiting. Instead, we stood in the cold rain for nearly two hours waiting for the truck to arrive. There was clearly a serious breakdown in communication and coordination. Our two fellow guests were also extremely unhappy and said they were considering canceling their trip scheduled for the following day. Bottom line: The fishing was excellent, and our guide was fairly inexperienced in the area, but very good. The communication, organization, and customer service were not. Mistakes and misunderstandings happen. What matters is how a business handles them. Customers should not be scolded when there is an obvious communication breakdown, nor should they be left standing in the cold rain for nearly two hours because transportation was poorly coordinated. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this operation. There are other fishing guide services in the Cooper Landing and Kenai Peninsula area, and I would strongly encourage travelers to explore those alternatives. What should have been one of the highlights of an Alaska trip with my grandson was unnecessarily diminished by poor communication, disorganization, and disrespectful customer service.
