Bad customer service from one employee. 1st off, gave me a quote for labor cost of $195.00 per hour and to water the area to find the leak which is $600.00 and he explained to me that the person that would inspect where the leak might be which i already knew and to take it apart. Too steep i thought. So i went to another place and got a second opinion. So i go back to the service dept and same employee, Richard waited on me and i explained that i wanted to order grommet, He said no. I said yes and he acted like i did not know what i was talking about and pretty much walked away and let someone help me. Well, someone in that service dept walked out with me to see what i was talking about and he said he would check it out. Came back and he was honest with me that the part cannot be found, and he got another person to come out with us and basically said the same thing. Gave me a great advice. I received a letter in the mail about my door on my van making a buzzing noise and how it was under warranty to still be fixed. So I call Albany Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep to make an appointment to get looked at and fixed. I called and left a message asking them to call back. I waited a week with no call back so decided to call again because only a dealership could fix this problem. I talked with Rich and he tried to look up the letter info online and the Chrysler website crashed during our chat. I made an appointment and brought the letter with me. He checked it out and ordered the parts. I waited a week and called to see if the parts came in. The parts were to come in the next day so we made an appointment for me to come back and have them installed. The next day I get a call from Rich whom I had talked to the day before and he told me the parts were in so we could make an appointment. I told him we did yesterday. He looked it up and remembered he had talked to me yesterday. Today I brought in my van at 9am to get the parts on the door fixed. I asked for a shuttle. I sat for 50 minutes until another gentleman came in the waiting area asking someone if they need a ride from the shuttle and I asked him if he knew the next one was coming because I had waited for 50 minutes. He was shocked and went and got one to come pick me up. I was escorted from the same man to a car within 5 minutes. My Husband was texting me asking me if I had been brought home yet. He was pretty upset they made me wait that long. I called around 4 to see the status of my car was done and they told me at 5. The shuttle came to pick me up to pick up my van. Rich got it all done with everything covered by warranty and I was out of there. I hope I don't need to ever come back. Customer service is BLAH! I was looking for a Suburban or Yukon XL. They had a Yukon XL so I took it for a test drive and really liked it! Negotiated what I thought at the time was a good deal.....I was not expecting the engine light to come on after only 3 days!!! I called and talked to a manager, told them I felt as thought they should at the very least help pay for the repair....to be continued. I came here for an oil chance and a price on some small things that needed repair. The oil change went fine with no problems. They gave me a price on the two items. One was over $400 and they said it was because the part was hard to get. I said no. I went and found the part online for$25. I installed the part myself and it literally too two minutes and one tool. The second part quote was over $300. They said it was because it involved a bit of labor. I said no again. I ordered the part for $32. It did involve a little labor but I did it in under an hour. An experienced mechanic could have it done much quicker. Even if they would have charged me an hour labor I would have been fine. They are charging more than my doctor. The third thing was as part of the oil change they noted my coolant was low and that maybe someone had put in some stop leak in it. I did not ask but I just assumed they put more coolant in. A couple weeks later I was noticing my temp gauge rising during idle. A couple times it pegged to the hot side. Something wrong for sure. So I shut it down and later checked the coolant. It was really low. So the question is did they put coolant in when I did the oil change or not. I simply don't know. I think there is a potential problem. They should have noted if they filled with coolant or not. And yes I should have asked. I am really bothered by the prices on the two items of repair that I asked them about. I would have been out $800 but instead I am out $60 and an hour of my time. I get needing to make money but this is insane. I will not be back for any service. read more

1-star is being generous. The absolute worst "service" group I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. My wife and 88-year-old mother were driving from Seattle back to Santa Cruz in my 2017 Dodge Ram (very well maintained w/only 46k miles on it). South of Portland, the computer system started throwing massive errors (like, pull over and tow it to a service station NOW kind of errors). They were able to call ahead to Albany Chrysler and because there were ZERO tow trucks available, drove it to the dealer (apx 20 miles). Once there, they were told that they "might" be able to get to it by Friday (this happened today Monday, Sept. 19, 2022). Really!? You've got stranded travelers and the best you can do is have them wait the entire week? I'm so glad that I wasn't there, because I'd probably be serving time right now. The best part is I found a great mechanic in Eugene, OR (Will's Auto Repair) and he dropped everything, put it on the computer, and found out an alternator was causing all of the computer errors. The truck was fine to drive home and we can address the mechanical issue back on home turf. read more

I needed to get an estimate for my upper control arms replaced on my Jeep (the ball joints are fixed into them and can't be removed separately) the labor was a nice $550, however, the parts estimate was a mind boggling $303 A PIECE!!!! a grand total of $1,156. I went online and found a OEM kit that came with both side and also steering link components. All for an easy $149. This place can do so much better! Save your money. read more

I was in town for work and had some time between appointments so decided to see what they had in a specific make, model and year. The person who took me for a test drive in the 2018 Ram 1500 Eco-Diesel was Grant Biehler. Grant was professional, knew the vehicle, the vehicle features and was low pressure and easy to talk with. If I lived in the Albany area I would have considered buying from Grant. More sales people should learn from Grant by knowing more about their product and less about stupid car salesman slogans like "how do I earn" your business today. Grant knew the product. A full tank of gas would have been GREAT for the looooong late night drive home. I had mentioned it it TWICE to no avail. I took my PT Cruiser into them a year ago to find out why my AC wasn't working. After waiting around for 3 hours I was told that my AC compressor wash shot and I needed a new one. We barely use AC in this part of Oregon and I doubted I've used it a dozen times over the years. The mechanic assured me that was the problem to the tune of $900!! (I asked him twice but in different words to make sure). I then told the Service Manager that I wanted a second opinion and took the car to a local mechanic about 4 blocks away. He had the problem figured out in half an hour and found a broken connector wire and charged me $41.00......yes, FORTY ONE DOLLARS!!! I do not trust dealerships anylonger and this is a prime example. I honestly wonder if dealerships give their mechanics "kick backs" on the parts they claim are "needed" to fix our cars!! What a rotten thing to do to people who TRUST THEM!!!! read more

I was looking for a 2019 Ram 1500 and after visiting my local dealership and being treated like I was bothering them for coming in and for making me feel stupid for some of the questions I was asking about the ALL NEW 1500 RAM, I thought I don't think you really know any more than I do about this new innovative truck from Dodge, so I'm gonna go find a dealership that does .. I didn't have to go far. Just up the road to Albany, where a brand new owner came to town and bought out the Mark Thomas Motors Dealership. So I walked on the lot to see if they had what I was looking for. A young man named DJ came up to me and asked if he could be any help. Well he showed me what he had and it was exactly what I was looking. AND, he answered ALL my questions about the new 2019 Ram!! He was friendly, helpful, and actually seemed to be interested if I was going to leave there as an informed buyer. Not pushing a sale but actually helping me to purchase what my needs were. The sale process was very smooth and only took about 30 minutes. DJ introduced me to the GM, the F&I guy, Parts and Service. All were very interested in my needs now, and down the road . My wife and I purchased a 2019 jeep cherokee online to be delivered due to covid. I will never buy a large purchase online again. Salesman "tray" agreed to include ALL SEASON FLOOR MATS since we live in a rural area. Well when the vehicle was delivered to our door, I signed on the dotted line and the salesman Tray left. When I had some time to review everything I noticed we had a $3000.00 extended warranty along with an $800.00 gap protection Added which I never knew anything about since nobody EVER spoke of it. I also saw the our tires were 100% bald (per dot this was a illegal vehicle to be sold). We went back to Albany Jeep and after some DISCUSSIONS with PIGG the sales manager he FINALLY agree to replace ONLY the front tires and that was it. He than stated, ""I am not buying you floor mats"" But I will sell them to you at employee cost which is $195.00 UNQUOTE"" After my research with MOPAR where they purchase these things, they told me, "We sell these to ANY CUSTOMER for $170.00". Needless to say, we were taken for a ride by this company and I would NEVER recommend buying from this establishment. We payed almost $20,000.00 for this vehicle online and were pretty much deceived. We have had nothing but problems with this thing and it's been back in their shops 3 times in 30 days. Be careful. My father in law is with the federal trade Commission and he has taken over this issue for us and is now dealing with the false everything from this company. I bought my Chrysler Town and Country from this place when it was MTM. I always brought it here for service. MTM gave me a discount because I bought it from them. The new people don't. I can understand that because they're not the same. However, I used to get a Military discount and the last time I was in there they told me that they don't have a Military discount and charged me $48 for a service that previously cost me $31. And they still can't seem to be able to reset the damn service mileage. read more

My Jeep was here for 6 months and did not get fixed. That is mopar's fault not the dealership. However when I got it back it had mold on the inside, both interior door panels were cracked, and all of my off road lights were gone. Dennis made it very clear that they are not responsible for damages. Legally he is correct, but ethically it is terrible to get your vehicle returned not fixed and in worse condition than when it came in. I purchased my car from this dealership a few years ago and I have seemed to face nothing but problems; not only with the car itself, but the service as well. I took my car to the dealership due to my Hyundai not starting. I was told the car started up fine for the mechanic and I was charged over $200 for the diagnosis. When I attempted to leave I was unable to start my vehicle. We returned after the holiday and it took almost the whole day just to get a code read on my vehicle. We showed up to check and my car had still not been looked at, but we were told it would be looked at soon. After a few hours we called back again, it still hadn't been looked at. They finally called back and explained they were trying to piece together the info from the first diagnosis. Once we arrived, yet again my car would not start/stay running for the three people who attempted to start it despite being told the mechanic had no issue starting my vehicle, I personally would argue this based on the extreme difficulty it took to keep the car running. After being told first that it was most likely one part needing replaced a different guy told us it was all three parts needing replaced, I felt I could no longer trust I was receiving honest service. They did attempt to accommodate the poor experience, and in my opinion overpriced diagnosis, by adjusting the price to fix the part. After all of the back and forth, and confusion we decided this business did not deserve our business. We decided it to take it back to our home and fix the vehicle ourselves. We worked mainly with Kevin who, despite the whole ordeal, I have zero complaints about. He was a pleasure to work with, he communicated effectively and seemed to really care. Unfortunately he was absent for the issues occurring after the holiday, which may have played a part in of most of the confusion. We will never be returning to Mark Thomas Motors to get service on a vehicle, or to purchase a vehicle ever again. read more

They gave me a BS offer on my car that I wanted to trade in and tried to act like they were offering more than they should after deeming my cars condition "fair" when it's in good condition and just needed better tires. Talked about how they take $1,000 off the value because of the maintenance they're going to put into it when we all know damn well they would've vacuumed it and put it out on the lot right after I left. Came to you to have a key fob read and coded...we were given the key fob by another dealer...we had no idea it was an after-market key fob - you claimed it wouldn't work...charged us $60.00 - we came back the very next morning - not even 24-hours later - and purchased your key fob for $188.00 - and you charged us another $60.00 to code your key fob...so, in less than 24-hours, it costs us over $300.00 to get a key fob...we asked for a little "customer service" or "good will" because we had to travel more than 50-miles, twice - how about a dealer discount on your key fob or no charge for reading the codes - nope!!! We appreciated you all staying late last night so that my husband could get his pickup. They all played a major roll in earning our business and boy did those poor guys have to earn it. Between my family and I, we only do business with 2 dealerships and for good reason. When we found out that these guys had the exact pick-up my husband wanted, I was not thrilled. Yeah, they had changed ownership since MTM, but were they really that much better? I really did not think it was worth our time or money to figure it out. But, alas, they truly were the only ones that had the exact pick-up on hand that my husband has been looking for for months and neither of our regular trusted dealers were much help. I decided to go test the waters before I let my husband loose to shop, so I went in by myself to get the info on this pick-up. David was so incredibly helpful and not only got me all the information I needed to crunch numbers at home and prepare to come back, but he also found us an even better pick-up that fit my husbands needs way better than the first one. So, after being impressed with the initial help, my husband and I came back later that evening. The whole process went so smoothly from start to finish. The pick-up was perfect, between the deals and rebates they got for us it was in my perfectly affordable range I had previously determined, they gave us a great value for our trade-in and explained all of the numbers thoroughly to me. We were happy to trade it in because we do not enjoy selling things on our own and they made this process so easy. They also stayed over an hour and a half past closing to get the pick-up ready and for us to go home with it that night. They also did not sell us anything we didn't need or want.
