Got my radio unit replaced here under a recent warranty extension, so everything was covered for my 2019 Outback. I made an appointment online but the service manager Aaron called me to explain that he would cancel the appointment for now, start ordering the part (no obligation to replace/fix if the warranty somehow didn't go through), and have me schedule a new appointment when Subaru of America releases the warranty extension on my car. I liked that he was honest about the situation and didn't just go ahead and schedule me, likely resulting in me paying a lot upfront. When I arrived to my appointment, the process was fairly smooth. But I did find it a bit frustrating that I couldn't hear the service advisor Torii from behind the desk at all, especially with all the noise inside. The work on my car was quick and ready for pickup within a few hours. They texted me if I wanted to do some other replacements (cabin air filter replacement $79.95+plus tax, engine air filter replacement $59.95+tax, battery cleaning due to corrosion $49.95+tax) that they found during the multipoint inspection and included the price which was helpful, though I declined the services. Overall, I had no major issues for this service covered under warranty, but I can't speak on what the experience would be like for services that I'd have to pay for myself.

Avoid. They charged me X 2.9 times the price found at Subaru Online Parts. They would not even spend 3 minutes installing these rear bumper brackets, wanted to make an appointment for it. Thanks for a neighborhood body shop whose owner just crawled under the back, did it in less than 2 minutes and even refused to charge me. Nice of him. Shame on Subaru dealerships, for gouging returning clients, as usual.

However, a month into having the car, I had a nail in my tire (which I am liable for) and went to three different shops to get quotes for a tire replacement. ALL three shops notified me that the ALL the tires needed to be changed because all four tires were worn out and unsafe and that the dealership should have never sold it to me in that condition. Note: I had a paperwork from all three shops indicating all this. I called Albany of Subaru and got the run around and even got hung up on and finally requested the GM and they scheduled me an appointment. At the appointment, they denied covering ALL four tires. So I requested a paperwork that stated they would cover it so that I can file a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repairs and the Better Business Bureau. Finally they were able to cover all four tires BUT I still had to pay $140 for the alignment. NOW! My husbands outback car is having issues, which was purchased two weeks after mine.

This dealership did not describe the condition of the car accurately, and allowed a test drive of a vehicle with apparent mechanic and safety issues. Called the dealership and made an appointment to test drive a 2009 Maserati Gran Sport. A close friend of mine wanted to fly in and drive the car home so I agreed to check it out and be a part of the transaction. Spoke with Matt on the phone who assured me the car was in 'mint' condition and that there were no issues with the car. I originally planned to view the vehicle within 24h, but was told the car was at another dealership being shown, but would be 'back soon because he had five other people inquire about it'. No problem, I had expected that maybe a car of this age/caliber, even with a low 51000 miles on it probably needs some work before being offered, and was willing to accept the car with some flaws if the price was right. Showed up two days later with my GF, about 30 mins late to my scheduled test drive (I appreciate the flexibility on a Friday). I was greeted and did a walkaround of the car before going inside. Noticed the under dash panel was missing from the driver side, a cluster of buttons were broken on the dashboard and sunken in, and a parking sticker from the previous owner remained on the window. Ok, maybe it was in for service? The Check Engine light was still illuminated, however Neither Matt nor the salesperson who went on the test drive acknowledged the other person, my GF, with me. It was like she was invisible. Rep made some questionable comments about women while we were on the test drive. Made us raise our eyebrows and ask "what year is it again?" The rep on the test drive talked the entire time - was hard to concentrate on the vehicle condition but did quiet down after I asked him twice. What I was able to discern: the car sounded awesome. It is a Maserati after all, but had been in at least one front end collision. The alignment was off and the car pulled to one side. The rep on the test drive told me they fixed it at the shop. Fender and hood did not line up, front bumper and grill had visible damage, and distance sensors were going haywire on the test drive. Between this and the CEL, I expected this maybe from a $5000 car on Craigslist, but not a $30k car being offered by a business with such a high Yelp rating. Got back to the dealership to talk to Matt, find out what the story was with the damage and perhaps make a deal given the flaws of the car. Went to park the car, and the parking brake was not functioning. Major safety issue, and probably the final straw. Matt was first very dismissive when I told him of the issues with the car, insistent that it was in reasonable condition. When I pressed Matt, while remaining courteous, about the accident damage and apparent effects on the radar/distance sensors up front, he became very combative and rude. He did not offer to look at the issues I mentioned and raised his voice. Because of their unwillingness to accept responsibility and put a potential customer at risk in a vehicle with apparent safety issues, I cannot recommend this business and would caution anyone in the market for a European automobile to purchase elsewhere.

Excellent communication, service, and timely replies. I received a significant discount on the OTD price, even when including the BuySide Auto fee. On top of that, I NEVER had to step into a dealership, talk to a salesperson directly, spend hours playing the "let me ask my manager" game, or have to talk to a Finance manager and repeatedly say NO to unnecessary options. All communication was easily done through email and text, although phone and in-person contact was also available. Process starts with completing a convenient online request. From there, Kim contacted me to fully understand my wishlist, range of optional requirements, and any non-negotiables. After reaching out to their dealer network, within a day she provided a list of potential matches with estimated OTD prices, which included some in SoCal available for transfer to the Bay Area and cars still in production with estimated availability dates. I had a lot of questions and some requests and Kim was very responsive and instrumental in relaying them to the dealer and advocating for me. Even my request to remove all dealer installed options was negotiated by Kim and granted by the dealer with no hassle on my end. I paid the BuySide Auto fee to reserve the car for purchase and when the car was available I opted to pickup at their office in SF. Home delivery to SF is also currently no charge, while delivery outside of the city is available with a modest fee. Upon first contact, I asked if weekend pickup or delivery was available, since their normal hours are on weekdays. Kim made note of it and remembered my preference even after the sale was completed. Chris was able to make himself available for Saturday pickup! We took a walk around the car took a look inside. We spent no more than 10 minutes reviewing and signing paperwork, received my keys, and I was off with my brand new car!
