Mary was my nail technician and she did an absolutely fantastic job! I was a walk in and they were able to do both a gel manicure and a regular polish pedicure! I asked her if she could do a design I found online and without hesitation she said yes. Everyone who works there is super hospitable and friendly. After my pedicure Mary helped me put on my shoes and helped me put on my bag just the best service I have ever gotten! Could not recommend more! I love my nails, and Azula does too! Thank you Mary and Alberta Nails Spa! Do note that while they take walk ins, the morning is the best time to go. Also, they prefer cash.

My acrylic nails lasted 3 weeks. I have found my new favorite salon. I highly recommend this place. They technicians are kind and will work with you to get your nails to where you want them to be. My nails are now natural, growing and healthy.

This place is a real real gem. I had to reschedule 3 times in the same day and they were super helpful and nice on the phone. Happy to change my appointment time with no issues. The salon itself is clean, pretty, and classy. It doesn't have any weird smells or gross corners. My nail tech was fast but good, and she did the exact design I want even though it was a little annoying ( I wanted 4 different but very similar car eye colors ) . She told me the pricing before we began so no issues, pricing is fair for the great quality nails and service! Finally, this place would have been 5 starts without this, but extra love for the genuinely good people that work there. I was stuck in the snow after my appointment, they all came running to help, and got me out! Truly wonderful place and people.

Mia has incredible attention to detail. I do nails myself so I am extra picky. She really takes her time with prep, which is important to make a manicure last a long time. Also very inexpensive!!

I visited Portland a few weeks ago and was in desperate need of a new manicure and pedicure and found Alberta Nail Spa through Yelp. They did a fantastic job on my pedicure, which looks perfect three weeks later. I loved the manicure as well, but I'm taking off one star because I told them to just file my nails because I wanted to keep them longer and they ended up cutting my nails too short. They also put on too many coats of polish (four coats of color vs. three, which I think is normal). Overall, the mani/pedi were high quality and stayed in tact for almost three weeks. We were double booked at another nail salon and called Alberta Nails who were able to get my friend and I in immediately after having last minute cancellations. The nail tech who helped me was very patient (even after I changed the colors multiple times) and detail-oriented, making sure I was completely satisfied before leaving the salon. I should mention that I'm a stickler for good customer service. Until I arrived at my appointment at Alberta, I hadn't had many positive experiences at local nail salons. Upon arrival, I was greeted and welcomed. Bang, that's a great start! Once Trinh started on my nails, she was so kind and thoughtful, thanking me for coming in and making conversation with me. IDC if there's a language barrier, It's nice to be treated humanely. She exceeded my expectations, and my nails are beautiful. I will be back! read more

Great spot! Call ahead for a reservation and be patient (might be a 10 min wait after your reservation time but everyone is friendly and they do an excellent job). Highly recommend, have no reason to ever go anywhere else in Portland. read more

Don't go to this business. I didnt get everything listed in a pedicure package that I paid for. When i brought it up to the lady doing my nails she first denied this and said she did everything then said since I said to please be gentle with me she removed some things from the package because of this. WTF? She finally did use a heated stone on my feet after I complained but I never got the foot massage that my neighbors in the salon got that is supposed to come with the package. When i told the owner she denied it too and said she watched her employee. When I insisted she was wrong she walked off offering no compensation. Don't go to this place. They are in it for the money. They will do a poor job, rip you off and offer no compensation. But doing this review is my compensation. read more

Went here last week for a pedicure and it was AMAZING. Super long massage, great toenail shaping and painting, friendly customer service. Oh, and the pedicure chairs are so comfortable! Came today for a shellac manicure and although not as pleased as I was with the pedicure, I will still go back again and again! The salon itself is GORGEOUS. Clean, modern, tons of space. My manicurist seemed a bit stressed/rushed due to an employee not showing up (I mean, who wouldn't be?) and my nails aren't exactly as I wanted them but again, nothing that would keep me from going back. To top it off? The drinks they offer! I had to add the picture of my margarita because well, I've never had a margarita in a nail salon! Lol. Give these gals a try! TIP! Alberta Nails is wonderful! The vibe is so nice, the team is really friendly and the service is great. They take their time and always make sure to check in along the way to ensure that you love the shape, color and design of your manicure. They care a lot about their customers and even let you come back to fix broken nails or chipped paint for free. I get my dip manicures done there - they have the largest selection of colors I've ever seen, and are perfectly done. I always get compliments and love referring new clients! The best pedicure place! I've tried other places and in a week the " shellac " is already peeling off and they don't last as how Alberta nails spa does it! I love how they're so nice, they're talkative and everything about this place is so calming and relaxing. They always ask and make sure if you like the color or like how they're coming out! And they give such good massages and mind you there work actually lasts till you wanna change and go get a fresh new color! Love it never changing spas for pedís! read more

My partner and I went in today for a mani/pedi. It was my first time going here. They're located on central alberta, across from ZigZag. We scheduled through yelp for later in the day. Parking was easy. I came in and was promptly greeted. They checked my temperature and had me complete a covid agreement (just saying I have been safe, etc. normal stuff). From there we were seated and Bebe and Trinh assisted us. They were so sweet, friendly and kind. They had us socially distanced from other parties between chairs and didn't allow over capacity. They also follow covid guidelines and have a glass between them. I definitely will be going back. I felt safe and secure and they also were just such sweet people and I loved the results. read more

I used Yelp to find this amazing nail salon. The first time I went I told them nails have never lasted two weeks on me. My nail tech assured me they would last and if I had any issues to come back. Not only did they do a cute design my nails lasted three weeks! I went back today for a dip with tip and got another cute design. I can not speak highly enough, always asking if the design was okay, if I liked them, because it is out of their comfort zone. All I have to say is go! These are the cutest nails I have ever gotten and I have already gotten three compliments in the hour they have been on my nails. read more

I have done my own nails my whole life (even shellac) so I am very picky when I get my nails done and the last place I went really did a bad job. I was reluctant to try out another new spot, but I had a great experience at Alberta Nails Spa today. The space is clean and nicely decorated with all matching massage chairs and stools. The headrest pillows even had their branding on it - fancy! And they had relaxing music playing the whole time. I went in for a regular pedicure and shellac manicure. I really love how my nails turned out. Trinh, the manager, was super sweet and attentive. I asked for coffin shaped nails and I appreciated that she kept checking with me if I liked the shape as she was working on my nails. The ladies were professional and provided really great customer service. I will definitely be going back regularly. read more

They are so caring and so sweet, they've become my go to. I've never had a nail tech pay such attention to detail and be so accommodating to my requests the way they do here. This has been my favorite nail salon and I'm not sure if this is due to covid but I remember a shellac manicure being $20, and after going yesterday the price jumped to $34 which seems unusually high. I asked if this included tip and it didn't, so my manicure ended up being around $40! I love the service and location but I know of other places that are not this expensive which is a bummer. read more

Starting with taking temperatures upon entering, hand sanitizers, masks, plexiglass barriers, the entire place is immaculate. You will not only feel completely safe but receive exceptional service. The signature manicure and pedicure were beyond what I have experienced at any other spa. Both include a super luxurious massage and the pedicure included relaxing hot stones. Alberta Nail Spa has been my go to since I moved to NE about a year ago. The staff goes above and beyond with complementary beverages and attention to detail. They always do an amazing job with my cuticles and calluses. I went in today for the first time since February and they were highly prepared for the safety of their customers. They had a temp screening, mandatory face mask for customers and staff, excellent distance between each station, and even had *plexiglass screens* for both manicure and pedicures. She took me right as they were closing. I can imagine that gets annoying but tomorrow I start a new job and I'm very Appreciative of the fantastic job she did. I love them! I did want tips but normally the up charge is 5 dollars. But his time around it was a bit more than I'm used to so I did skip it. But I do plan to go back at a more appropriate hour for a mani-pedi. Have been on the search for the best place to get a dip powder manicure, and I think I found it! Everyone was so kind and lovely to talk to. They really take their time when working on your nails and check-in with you to make sure it's exactly what you want. The salon was very clean and peaceful too. The only small downside to the dip manicure was that there wasn't a huge range of colors, but I was still able to find a neutral/pink that I really liked! Will be coming back again! read more

She responded very quickly to my message quickly when I expressed dissatisfaction with my hair afterward, and offered to redo the color but I'd rather wait for my hair to grow out as it's several inches too short and already has layers of color in it. I arrived at 11am for an appointment that my confirmation said would last until 1:30pm and we didn't finish until 4pm. She did my cut first and then did the baby lights- they added nice color and dimension to the hair as desired. But she then did my roots and combed the color through. While my color was processing, someone arrived for a haircut and had their haircut done while my color sat. Around 45 minutes later, my color was washed out and was darker than I expected- most of the baby lights were no longer visible. She mentioned the color will fade to be lighter as expected, but the result was surprising. I also asked for 2 inches or so to be cut, and mentioned I wanted to be able to put my hair in a ponytail still. When facing the mirror, the length was going great and she showed me it could still go in a ponytail. When turned around, I lost several inches for some reason and there was no going back. She took off even more in the back, and I left unable to put my hair in a ponytail. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication and she thought I wanted the grow out to be able to be in a ponytail, but I don't think so since she initially showed me she could put it in a ponytail. By 4pm I was tired and hungry and ready to get home- she asked if I wanted to see the hair blown out and styled which I did but just wasn't up for given the 5 hours I'd been there so I said no. There was also another person waiting for their 4pm appointment to start. When I did straighten it at home, I was surprised by my hair. I've gotten cuts that suit curly hair on many occasions and have always been able to wear the cuts straight too. This cut when straight appears uneven and choppy. The transition to the short back is awkward. She'd mentioned that at the end she'd go through and do any evening, cutting of long pieces etc needed but by then, as I'd mentioned, someone had shown up for another appointment at 4 and no additional cutting was done. I'm not sure if it was an off day, if my hair just took a few hours longer than expected or if she typically stacks appointments but things seemed rushed between the clients. I've never had someone try to do a whole haircut while dye sits on and I felt like my dye was likely left on too long due to it which resulted in the darker hair and missing baby lights. I've included pictures of my hair before the appointment length wise, what I asked for, and what I got. Given the many positive reviews, I'd say this could be chalked up to an off experience but given the starkly different results I thought it was worth sharing.

I'm writing this review because of repeated miscommunication around services and how it was handled. The first time I came in, I specifically asked for Gel-X. I was told it could be done, but once I arrived, I was encouraged to change my mind and get dip powder instead. I trusted the recommendation. Unfortunately, the dip powder started peeling almost immediately, before I even arrived at my destination for a special event. It was disappointing, but I let it go. Recently, I tried to rebook and clarify Gel-X again, hoping to avoid the same issue. Once again, I was told it would be possible. However, when I arrived, I was again deterred from getting the service I had booked and requested, and the explanation was different from what I had been told beforehand. When I tried to clarify the discrepancy, the communication became dismissive and defensive, rather than simply acknowledging the inconsistency and offering a clear solution. At that point, I chose to leave rather than proceed in an uncomfortable environment. If you are booking a specific service like Gel-X, I strongly recommend confirming details in writing ahead of time, as my experience involved multiple changes once I arrived. read more

I have been a customer of the owner for years. But this was my first visit to the spa, since I've moved out of Portland. It is super clean, relaxing and professional. I know since the pandemic it's been hard for us all to get out and feel safe while doing it. This spa follows all rules to businesses. As soon as you enter they take temperatures and of course everyone is wearing mask. If you need to relax and pamper yourself, this is the place to do it. Definitely the worst nails I've ever had done. People were nice and didn't rush. Place is cute. However, I came in with long almond shaped nails and after asking to make them "just a little bit shorter", I left with nubs of different lengths and different shapes, despite giving feedback on how I'd like her to change the shape (to the shape I originally had) 3 times. I haven't had much success finding a favorite nail salon in Portland since moving here two years ago until I stumbled upon this one through Yelp. Once we got there we received amazing care and hospitality. The ladies were attentive and kind. They supply you with free complimentary drinks (mimosas, wine, coffee, water, juice, etc) and their equipment is top quality. An amazing experience for sure! They take walk ins but I recommend making an appointment over the phone. The salon is trans friendly, and is friendly to all customers regardless of age and gender. This spa is the best! I get my eyebrows waxed here, along with a mani and pedi, every two months. They do such an amazing job on my eyebrows, and the manis and pedis are so relaxing and chill. They take walk-ins, but I recommend calling ahead, because it can get pretty busy depending on when you go.
