Reminds me a lot of the Alberto's in Southern California, and up here in NorCal we need it! Mexican food in SoCal is way different, and much better imho. So to have a place that makes it like that here is awesome. Good quality meat, refried beans, burritos that aren't just "regular" or "super" but actually have their own ingredients. A miracle. And to say that their burritos are big in an understatement. They always last me two meals. They're almost the size of my forearm from inside my elbow to my wrist. One thing tho is that the prices on the menu are never what I'm charged. I don't know if they're just giving me a mega gringo tax or what but if I order a burrito and ask for beans and sour cream instead of guac and pico, the price jumps from like $8.99 to $16 or so. Curious if I'm the only one. But if that's standard practice, it would explain why I don't see them busy like they are in SoCal. read more

I don't normally post reviews but I needed to post this one since I'm so disappointed. The first time I went here a few months ago, I went through the drive thru and ordered a carne asada breakfast burrito and a carne asada torta. Unfortunately, we got an enchilada plate instead of the torta but didn't see til we got home and didn't want to go back. I decided to give them another chance today. I got an agua de Jamaica, carne asada breakfast burrito, a carne asada plate, a side of guacamole and a torta de carne asada again. Got a mushy potato burrito with barely any asada, the carne asada plate looked okay, the guacamole was like a flavorless watery avocado spread and instead of getting a torta I got a random plate of food. The torta was so mushy and soggy she wasn't even able to hold it. She tried eating it but could only eat a few bites of the first half. The only good part of the order was the Jamaica, that was really good I might come back for only that lol. I hope they improve their food. read more

I was struggling to decide what to eat for lunch and randomly thought of Alberto's off El Dorado. I had the urge to get a quesadilla only to see they don't sell them so I settled for a chicken taco plate. The price was kinda high (about $16.00) which included a credit/debit card fee of $0.50. Ugh....That part sucked to see on the receipt as I drove away. When it came to the flavor, I just felt the tacos were lacking. I got them with soft shells which fell a part right when I picked them up. They were massively stuffed with lettuce, tomato and cheddar cheese...Maybe I'm just so used to tacos with onions, cilantro and salsa that my tastebuds weren't having it. The rice and beans were pretty good. What pulled it together was the salsa verde on the side. I ended up throwing one of the tacos away... All in all, I was not impressed and won't be returning. I was passing through town and staying at a local hotel. I wanted something close by so i tried Albertos. The order taker was friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered a beef taco combo. The food came quickly and with a happy face. The beef tacos were very good. The beans and rice were standard Mexican food restaurant rations, but the meal is really the tacos. For a drive-up fast food Mexican meal i thought the overall experience was very good. Go for it. read more

I bought a beef tostada and it was not good the shredded beef had bell peppers and onion kinda like Michaca not good for a tostada. They need to leave it basic beans lettuce and cheese with the shredded beef without the bell peppers it over powered the taste. So I want to be honest, there are a ton of Alberto's Mexican Food restaurants, some good, some bad and some great. The one at 24 E Yokuts is great. Service is always on point, friendly people, knowledgeable to what they offer. Very willing to adjust (within reason) menu items for customer satisfaction.. I haven't been disappointed with a single item I've ordered. The beans and rice are always delicious, whether as a side on one of their plate dishes or as an ingredient in a burrito. My wife's favorite is the horchata and rolled tacos, my most consistent item is I think the number 7 plate. 2 burritos. I all for one each need and chicken. Plate comes with the fore mentioned beans and rice but the burritos themselves are all meat, moist and delicious. Service is really quick regardless of walk up or drive through. I'm pleased to say I'm a regular here and will continue to come here for heat food and service. read more

Staying at the Best Western and checking Yelp for some Mexican food, I found Alberto's within easy walking distance - practically right next door. Their lobby was closed, so I walked up to the drive-in window and ordered a couple of fish tacos. Within 5 minutes I was handed a small but dense styrofoam container. I knew right then I had made the right choice. When I got back to my hotel room and opened it up, I was greeted by 2 of the biggest tacos I've seen since Mexico! Overflowing with lettuce, tomato, onions, and cilantro, I squeezed on some of the accompanying lime and poured on a bit of the hot sauce that was included, and proceeded to enjoy some really good tacos! At least 4 pieces of lightly fried and crispy whitefish in each. A cold beer and 15 minutes later I was a happy camper! I highly recommend Alberto's - $10 goes a long delicious way! read more

I had ordered a fish burrito, I requested to have beans, rice, cheese and sour cream to the burrito and they made it with just lettuce, guacamole, and salsa. The burrito was missing the beans, rice, cheese, and sour cream. I live too far to go back, and I just don't feel like going back. The cashier that took my order took my order correctly and even repeated himself, he was amicable and kind. He charged me for my order but the food was lacking. I got my agua de Jamaica and it tastes great, I am just so sad because this is the second time this happened. I tried calling but no one answered so this is the other way I could tell them. Something I appreciate about my hometown is the amount of restaurants that have drive-thrus connected to them. Alberto's Mexican Food is one of them. I have yet to find a taco spot in the bay with a drive thru. I love how the restaurant opens early to serve breakfast and closes late for night cravings. When I am in town I always purchase the carne asada tacos and they never disappoint. I came here tonight on the way home from work. I was craving some Mexican food and I've been eyeing it when I've been coming home so I stop by last night. I got the chicken taco special which includes one taco rice and beans and a drink for $9.50. I also got one for my other family member who had a crazy for it as well. This is a very clean establishment very clean atmosphere. They definitely give you a good amount of rice and beans and the taco is nice and full very great very convenient. If you don't feel like going to a Mexican restaurant this definitely will hit your craving. Great service delicious food Affordable prices very authentic Mexican food. If you have not tried them I would recommend checking out all the photos and giving them a shot they have great food. They definitely have something for everybody. I didn't even have to wait not even five minutes to pay for my order and have my order completed. Speedy service is always a place in my book. This was always are go to place for burritos and combo plates. Girl at window messed up order,I asked her at the window if it contained bell peppers and she told me no. I called because it did and was told to bring entire order back I questioned her on this, the whole order? She said yes I again said so they are going to remake the tacos also, she said yes. I took the whole order as requested by her and receipt. She refused to remake the order saying in so many words that I lied about what she told me and then refused to give me her name. So soggy tacos and cold cheese enchilada was to be eaten, again because of her mess up. This is a fast food drive through Mexican place. It doesn't look very welcoming when seeing it at night- dim lighting. The carne asada was good. Good portion and fresh cooked. I think there is a side of guacamole in there but it's texture is like looking at green mayonnaise. The salsa is great. I'd order it again. The chili verde tasted good too. But the cooking method is interesting. The cook microwaved it in a plastic container then put it into the to go box. So I guess it wasn't fresh cooked or simmering in a fresh pot of chili verde? Alberto's My 600th Review. Located on the corner of Yokuts and El Dorado in Stockton, CA. Here's my story: Tip: Takes card Cool tip: AC was hella cold. Pro Tip : Has outside seating and a restroom. We were driving around and my Son told me his friend told him about some place that has massive burritos. I was thinking of this other place. But we gotta a text back that it was this place. It's funny because, I've passed by this joint hella times, I mean hella times. I never really thought about coming here, until today. There is a drive thru, but we decided to walk in. Since it was our first time here. One thing that cought my eye. Was there's outside seating. I love outside seating. Told myself "Okay, Okay" I looked at the door and noticed the dinning room closes at 8 pm. Also there was stickers of the credit cards they accept. We walked in and I noticed a big screen TV as soon as you walk in. The restrooms are to the right as soon as you enter. We turned left and was looking over the menu. My son asked the worker "How big are the burritos" Because that's the reason we came here. The worker described to us what's what. So my Son went with the Asada Super Burrito no beans. Yours truly went with the chicken fajita burrito. The damage was like $15. We sat down talked a bit and then the burritos were good to go. I kinda wanted to stay there and eat. Because it was like 100 degrees outside. The AC was on an cracking inside. We walked to the car and looked at the burritos tool some quick pics and went home. When we arrived home, we opened them up to check them out. I wasn't disappointed at all. The chicken fajita burrito was pretty good. I never had one before, so I was definitely intrigued. I had fajitas before, but not something like this. I'm going to order this again. My Son was happy with his Asada super burrito. He's a pretty fast eater like me. Their breakfast burritos are always incredible. Always! Chicken crispy tacos are wonderful and made with i think tinga de pollo. Rice and beans are flavorful and moist. However their chili rellenos aren't that good. Get them without the sauce or sauce on the side if you need them drenched. The sauce was tasty but ultimately too much. Horchata is also very good.
