From the outside cruising Whittier this place looks small but when you walk in it looks HUGE. If you want get in and out fast I hope you will need to move quickly. The aisles were so spacious, no more waiting for people to move thier carts. The fruit & veggie area was as huge as a Mexican market. Thier deli area was as big, bright and colorful as the upscale grocery deli's with many meat and bread options. They have flowers, decorations and special promotion areas. They have a sample area when you walk in, today it was nacho chips & salsa. The store looked very clean and organized like a millitary haircut. So many colors used at this store leave quite an impression. The parking lot outside was decent size, had no problem getting parking. The employees all seemed freindly, great guy at the deli and cashier was cool. Thier fried chicken, potatoes and bread from the deli were great. The fried chicken albertsons is known for still has the same taste. This Albertsons had a self serve wing station, I was unsure about self serve foods so I went to the deli counter instead. They also have chicken strips, a huge variety of bread, lunch meats, side dishes and deserts. I specifically came here a week ago to ask the older gentleman at the deli how far in advance do I need to order food in order to have it ready on Thanksgiving day. They are getting a 2 for stealing my money. The sales constantly ring up wrong. I am referring to regular sales not digital ones that you have to add. And each time they give me cash back and they ROUND DOWN. for example today I our hated the value pack of chicken breasts, regular price $15.82, sales price $2.99/lb for $9.48, listed on the actual package. When I bring it to his attention, he hands me $6 cash. Now I didn't say anything and left, but maybe you should round UP and not DOWN in these situations. If I hadn't caught it though? Hot deli , sushi station ( no vegetarian options here ever) Their bakery is a little sad though but they do have some awesome jalapeño cheese bread when it's there. I was so sad when they closed the Albertsons by my home over in West Covina on Amar but thank goodness i found this one! They have a clearance section that occasionally has craft beer!!!!! Store is super clean, butcher is super nice and is always there to offer advice his selection. Produce is pretty good for a supermarket. Have yet to be disappointed... I have shopped here a few times and every time I'm a little uncomfortable, workers on the floor aren't very friendly. It's Not a welcoming feeling at all.... A time ago I ordered my baby shower cake here with No problem & then I had the meat department guy be rude to my husband & I , After that I decided Not to frequent this Albertsons. Recently I stopped In to replace a powder box of Color safe bleach I used to purchase here so I came in looking just to find it's discontinued ( Shows how long since i've been here) Trying to find a similar product I purchased a box of Biz stain & odor. When I got home I realized it's not what I needed.....Then shortly after Covid 19 quarantine happened, with that stores stopped giving refunds. So I waited patiently to return this box with a receipt obviously purchased before. Now here August 11,2020. Store credit would be fine with me but the workers said NO REFUNDS or EXCHANGES even though it's NOT FOOD ??SERIOUSLY?? These markets are sticking it to the consumers. It's a Glued closed box!! My cashier today made my day with a simple farewell where she was so kind to abruptly take off her mask,as I was receiving my bags and about to leave,just to give me a smile and blessed me to have a great rest of the day (which I wasn't before this moment).Now a days there are people out there that can pretend as if I am not even in the same room as them as well as other things not as nice but not worth mentioning. The deli and bakery are second-to-none in terms of quality. The staff is pleasant and inoffensive. And it's not usually hard to find parking, which is always nice. Bad news... The reason this Albertsons gets a resounding 3-stars is the fact that there is no scenario where their products here are cheaper against any rival supermarket or grocer. It's really not even fair to Albertsons that most, no, all of the comparables are cheaper at Ralphs, Walmart, Stater Bros, or even Target. Honestly? It's just best to hit up this place for its bakery department; that, or if you really need to wash away the experience of how crappy it is to shop at Walmart (or Costco) from your mind and Ralphs is too far to do so. read more

I like this location. It's big and i always get a good parking. The employees are very nice and helpful and it never seems crowded on my visits. They have self serve check-out and usually 1 or 2 cashiers open also. This location is clean & well stocked. I always find some good prices on their weekly sales. If you're going to drive, you might as well buy cheapish gas from a unionized grocery-store chain's standalone gas station/convenience store. It's not the least expensive gas in the area--that would be at nearby Costco--but price isn't everything, and I often wonder how much people actually end up saving per gallon after they have idled their engines for twenty minutes in a really long line while waiting to purchase said cheap gas. Remember, just because you're saving money doesn't mean you're saving the planet. Usually, the opposite is true. The station itself is way too hard to get into and out of. If after you leave you plan on going west on Whittier Boulevard, it's best to go east on Whittier Boulevard and make a U-turn rather than to risk being unable to cross all those lanes to get to the left-turn lane on Beach Boulevard. And if you're trying to go south on Beach Boulevard, well, you might be out of luck. read more

I've been shopping at this market for years, and have lived in La Habra for more than 15 years. I had an experience today with Norma their cashier, and have decided NEVER to go back. I chose one beer from the refrigerated section of single beers, which has a sticker saying "make your own six-pack". When I got to the register, Norma said I could not buy the beer because I had to buy a six pack. I said I purposely got what I wanted from the section of single beers because I DIDN'T want a whole six pack. Norma became extremely rude, telling me "Just stop, I'm not going to sell you just one". I said fine, whatever, and when she asked if I got everything I needed, I said, "I don't know, is there anything else I didn't buy enough of?" This cashier Norma was rude and talked down to me and should be fired. I hope she is. She's already lost the store at least this long term customer, and I'll be standing outside of the store with a sign saying "ask me about my experience with this establishment" so I can tell everyone not to shop there. read more

I really used to love this store! Unfortunately, they're slipping. They sell overpriced produce, make sloppy bakery goods, and sell spoiled fish. First, I discovered that Vons' everyday produce prices were 25-66% less than Albertsons'. So I started splitting my shopping trips between the two stores. Albertsons' bakery still had my loyalty though until my son's birthday. I ordered a basketball cake and plain cupcakes. The basketball cake looked terrible! The lines on the basketball were squiggly and the writing looked like a kindergartener's. I was really shocked that they would even try to pass it off as acceptable. The cupcakes were sloppy; the frosting looked like turds, and they were all inconsistent (some had double the frosting as others). Then came Father's Day. Albertsons' meat counter is better than Vons or Ralphs and I love the butchers, always friendly and super helpful. They didn't have sea bass for ceviche so I splurged on $13.99/lb halibut. OMG...I soon as I opened the packaging it reeked! I'm pregnant and thought maybe I was being oversensitive so I went ahead and rinsed it and made my ceviche. My hubby walked in the house and asked where I got the fish because the whole house stunk! Never wanting to waste, we let the ceviche marinate and hoped cooking in the lime could save it. The halibut was too far gone...completely spoiled and it even left my glass bowl stinking of fish (it took several washes and baking soda/vinegar mixture to finally get the smell out). I'll probably still stop in occasionally. I really hope Albertsons' steps up their game and I can update with a better review. The majority of the staff are really nice and I'd hate to see the store close. read more

I am so sad to write this review because for many years we have happily shopped here. There are so many great employees that I have come to know and it feels like a small community like family. That being said, I am so sad I will not be returning. The management has no backbone and does not enforce the mask wearing law that has been put in place by our government! I understand that this doesn't effect the majority in our community. However It greatly effects mine. I am a nurse and see so many fall ill due to the Corona virus and fight for their lives. This is very real, especially when you see it with your own eyes. My husband is immunosuppressed and is at great risk for sure death if he catches this virus. I wish we had champions in this community's that would stand up for the week because we have so many Ignorant and selfish people in this community. This pandemic is not fake news, it is alive and real. Our Government has to decide what number of people is acceptable to die while we try and keep our economy alive. That is the truth. Everytime I go into this Albertsons I am always greeted with a friendly smile or offered a helping hand. I was in albertsons two days ago and that is the reason for the review. I went back into the bakery for the famous choc chip cookies as I was grabbing a package off the shelve Liz said " here let me get you a bag with cookies that just were baked" she went above and beyond just to package me some cookies. Adam is the BEST! I was running late yesterday afternoon to meet with a friend for dinner and had to make a quick stop to buy fresh flowers and a few other things. As I was walking towards the Albertson's entrance I realized I had forgotten my mask. Well, I was lucky to see Adam pushing some carts near the entrance and I asked him if he had a mask for me. He immediately-without hesitation- said he'd go check if he could find a mask. Shortly after, he came back and handed me a mask! Let me tell you, Adam was so pleasant and the way he interacted with me was how I wish all employees would act-- especially when using their discretionary effort for a company. Essentially, because Adam was able to go above his role; I ended up being able to shop at Albertson's and have a great experience! So, THANK YOU ADAM!! I've been shopping here regularly since I moved into the neighborhood, and I've noticed two things. First, they no longer issue rain checks. Super annoying. I guess if you want the deals, shop the day the ad comes out. Second, the cashiers get offended if you catch them overcharging you. No apology, no chagrin. It's almost hilarious. My mother had five kids, and she used to drag me to the store with her to help her shop. One thing she taught me was to ALWAYS check your receipt before you walk out of the store. Mostly because if you find errors at home, you're way less likely to go all the way back to the store, and also because you'll probably forget the next time you shop. Usually I do check. Also, after they correct the error, they never live up to their guarantee to give you the item for free. You have to ask for a manager who always acts pissed LIKE IT'S YOUR FAULT. LOL. Anyway, I'm about to start going to Aldi or Sprouts. read more

I am writing this review about the floral department! We ordered some flowers for my grandmothers 80th birthday. The woman who works the floral department was AMAZING!!!!! Oh my gosh!!! We told her what flowers my grandmother liked and we walked around looking at other flowers to put in the arrangement. She helped us pick other flowers that would go well together. We picked up the flowers up the next day and we were blown away!!!!! She put so much time and effort into making everything flow and they flowers were so fresh! It looked like $100+ arrangement. My grandmother loved them. I will be back to get flowers for her for every occasion! I am so happy to have such a kind and talented flower lady so close by! :) read more

Going to the store is not always the most desirable trip to make. Going in for one thing and ending up buying 15 more things and forgetting what you went in for in the first place.
