This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area…read more Your server will bring out a basket of fresh bread and it is so amazing!! I always crave it. My partner and I shared the Orecchiette alla Salsiccia (my favorite) and I had a glass of the Moscato. I ended up getting a whole bottle because their wine bottles are 50% off on Wednesdays! The restaurant isn't too big but they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! I prefer the indoor seating and you can actually see into the kitchen which I think is pretty cool. The service is always top tier :)

As a…read moresingle parent, I am her mom AND dad so I am lucky I get to celebrate an additional holiday. I remember how I used to come right after work before covid hit and even celebrated a few birthdays here - those were fun times! The food was good! I don't come as often anymore after I started working remotely. Glad I was able to bring my daughter here. We were quickly seated right upon check in, which was awesome because when I came here a few months ago, I had to wait over 30 minutes on a week night. The hostess who checked me in was very friendly and welcoming. Our server was friendly and checked in on our table often. However, both my daughter and I were out of iced tea but she didn't offer to assist us with getting refills. Instead, she just asked me if I needed a box, so I was thinking most likely, she was in a hurry for us to leave - I honestly think we were there for about an hour. But, I wasn't too bothered by this. I just quickly paid the bill and went next door for dessert. My daughter and I ordered the following: Carpaccio - I love Carpaccio, but unfortunately what was served to me tonight was a HUGE disappointment. The beef came stuck together and the color was a weird shade of brown. It also smelled funny. I've ordered this dish multiple times before (I've even posted a picture of this from a previous visit) so I know it shouldn't look and smell this way. Rigatoni Alfredo 2.0 - (added Chicken) - This was very good. My daughter liked this a lot. She finished everything. Pappardelle Bruno - The braised short ribs were very tender. However, the pasta tasted pretty bland. Overall, my visit today was a 6/10.

We ordered the burrata, oxtail, skirt steak, tagliatelle, and whole fish (branzino). Each entree had such special flavors and was cooked well! Service was nice and they gave a complimentary birthday treat (3 scoops of ice cream). We loved the ambiance of the restaurant too. Must haves: oxtail with rice and skirt steak! Everything was amazing though, you can't go wrong with any of the entrees

I could have swore I wrote a review when we started going here last year, but I guess I never did…read more As we started exploring steak options in the OC, Griffin's came up so we decided to give it a try given the high rating and numerous reviews here on yelp. Yelp definitely did not let us down! So we've been to Griffins a handful of times over the last yearish and while their menu is petite and nearly unchanged, we still usually get the same things. The most recent visit, we ordered our usual: 20 oz ribeye medium rare, patatas bravas, and crispy brussel sprouts. For the ribeye, I will say this time around compared to the other times we've been here, it was quite lacking. The ribeye was less flavored than usual and I feel like we either got an like an older piece of ribeye or maybe a poor cut off the ribeye because it was quite chewy and a bit tough in some places and not really tender. It was cooked perfectly medium rare, but it was just too chewy and it was not it's usual. I hope this is just a one off thing and that the next time we come back it's the usual delicious and tender one piece of ribeye. The patatas bravas were delicious, crispy, well displayed, and in two different sauces (forgot the name lol) and very tasty. The other highlight is their crispy brussel sprouts. We try and order this at any restaurant; however, most do not do it as perfect as Griffins. It is super crispy, but not charred, very flavorful but not overpowering for a side dish/appetizer, and most importantly, it's not greased up like so many other places. The restaurant is located in that downtown Brea and has plenty of seating but always do reservations regardless. The environment is more dark, relaxing, and a great date spot. Parking is no issue as there is parking in the back (which I believe is valet) but there is a parking structure across the street. Pricing is as expected when compared to other restaurants of similar caliber. Griffins has a very large alcohol drink section, but the ladyfriend and I prefer our non alcohol drinks and I can never say no to Dr. Pepper. Aside from this off night ribeye we had, highly recommended if you are looking for a steak restaurant in this year. Their brussel sprouts will never let you down either!

There was Pier One & there was Cost Plus - Pier One was the more corporate experience option. Then Cost Plus grew up. Some changes were immediate, some took a long time. I think it comes down to how I feel when I think of going there, specifically the one in Brea. This isn't a grocery store - why do we have to pay for bags? I'm buying bottles of wine & dishes, picture frames - if I buy dishes and home decor at Macy's, I'm not required to buy a bag. It was always part of my Christmas tradition to make Cost Plus my first stop for gifts - but a couple of Christmases ago, I bought a whole cart full of wine & food gifts. I was not allowed to take the cart to my car, I had to leave the cart in the store and trust that the employee helping me wouldn't be pulled away by time I brought my car around. And it was raining by the way. Once upon a time, the store would reward members with a $10.00 birthday gift. That got changed to a discount. So every once in a while I get a text message telling me about a promotion and I used to enjoy getting those messages. Now I just delete them.

The FOOD: 4.5/5 | Drinks: 5/5 Off the appetizers, we had the pork belly bites and dirty fries! First dish came with a long hot pepper, several mini tortillas, and 2 dipping sauces. The pork was crunchy on the outside and soft+succulent on the inside. I can see myself doubling up on this appetizer the next time I come. Dirty fries were great; it came with a generous amount of pickled onions - providing a really nice contrast to the savoriness of our meal. Our waiter graciously accommodated our request to have the egg on the side. Off the entrée/taco menu, my friend ordered the Korean tacos and I got the Ensenada (fish) tacos. But you can also order the Ensenada tacos with shrimp. These were delicious, I would have loved a little more lime crema to go with the fish - but not a big deal. I got a Watermelon Margarita. I wasn't expecting it to be HUGE, but it was the perfect amount considering how much food we as a pair ordered. My friend ordered the La Toxica table side cocktail and one additional mango cocktail. Table side cocktail was a whole show and my friend really enjoyed it. We had a great lunch at Tempo Cantina. I can't wait to try more of their bar menu, maybe even at night when the restaurant is lively

It didn't taste as good and wasn't as juicy sadly. The sauces were still consistent but the pork belly itself was a bit lackluster from before Tinga taquitos- these used to be so juicy, the chicken inside was a bit dry and the tortilla itself was too thick. U def need to use the sauces they provide to offset the dryness Grilled Octopus- this dish was good, octopus was juicy but portion was a bit small for what it was. It also came with sweet potato fries Loaded fries- idk what I was expecting but these were just fries with buffalo chicken nuggets on top. Don't get me wrong this was decent and the buffalo chicken was tangy and juicy! Thirsty Thursday deals happen all day $7 margs and you know I had to get some. Mango was the sweetest, strawberry was not bad, guava was the best in balance of flavor in sweetness and alcohol. Overall not a bad experience but note if u haven't came here in a while, the food quality has changed sadly
