I come to victory Hall about 5 to 6 times a year while I'm visiting SF. The service is always friendly and welcoming. I love the vibe and the music, sometimes there's a DJ. The food is so good, I love the brussel sprouts and the fried chicken. If you get the fried chicken you have to get Crystals hot sauce too. Close to the ballpark and quite a few different Muni lines, I didn't realize I'd been to Victory Hall before for a local election night party celebrating a local politician. By night, it's a chic lounge with a full bar, and by day, it's Southern food from Little Skillet (soul food in SF!) The ambiance is dark and chill, which differs from the outdoor parklet which is surrounded by trees. Booth seating is pretty lush. For lunch, I ordered the Hearty Cobb Salad and shared the Skillet Mac & Cheese and biscuits. My compatriot got the sausage bowl. We both got iced teas, however mine was sweetened and his was not. The salad was large and came with a nice amount of avocado. The fried chicken was moist and flavorful. The batter wasn't too thick or overwhelming so the chicken flavor and crunch could shine through. Mac n cheese was creamy. Biscuit was crisp and warm. I have no complaints--I left stuffed and satisfied. Service was good. Lots of people come here for work lunches from nearby offices. read more

I came here for the 415 Coffee Club event on 10/26, and it was such a fun surprise to see Victory Hall & Parlor transform from a bar into a cozy, creative coffee spot for the morning! The atmosphere was industrial-chic with warm lighting, upbeat music, and friendly people chatting around copper-topped tables. The bar staff were super welcoming and kept the flow smooth even with the brunch crowd. I ordered the fried chicken & waffle, which was crispy, buttery, and absolutely hit the spot. I loved that each table had fresh flowers and little "conversation cards" that encouraged guests to connect, such a thoughtful touch. The 415 Coffee Club crew curated a perfect blend of community, music, and caffeine, and Victory Hall provided the ideal backdrop with its beautiful bar setup, colorful lighting, and great energy. Victory Hall is a great hidden spot to hang out with a large group of friends if you ever find yourself in this area of SoMA. Victory Hall is spacious, they have a full bar -- offering beer, wine and cocktails, there's food available from the shared kitchen of Little Skillet next door, and you can order via QR code across multiple, separate tabs. Drinks are well-balanced, do not taste watered down, and prices are in line with other bars in the city. I had a chance to try out their bloody Mary and Oaxacan negroni on my most recent visit and really enjoyed the flavors in both. The concentration of tomato in the bloody Mary was richer than most that I've had in the past -- resulting in a thicker texture. No crazy over the top garnishes here, but if you're a bloody Mary fan, you'll certainly enjoy the spicy one offered here. Service is hit or miss depending on who your server is, so you may have to flag somebody down to get a refill for water, but the QR code ordering does help out the situation a bit. If you're ever in charge of planning a corporate Happy Hour or finding a spot for a round of farewell drinks for co-workers, Victory Hall is perfect for that. read more

We came by for their Sunday brunch today, and we were both blown away by the aesthetic of the interior. It's cute on the outside but come in for a true treasure. The interior blends art murals with brick walls, big booth seating and unique bar seating. It's an old building retouched with charm. And the food, awesome. My girlfriend got the blackened chicken salad and I got the boneless fried chicken plate with grits and collards... still drooling from those delicious collards. Located on a side street in SOMA 100% worth the stop. Our company had our year end gathering here and rented out the Parlor. Our team was 25 people, but it could have easily accommodated 50. The Parlor is located in the back of the restaurant with a bar in it. It was decorated for the holidays perfect and had a spot for photo taking. There is a nice spot to stand and mingle or if you want to sit down there are a few community tables. Deanna was super helpful and easy to work with. She offered suggestions to the menus based on the number of people coming and was super flexible if we needed to add more food/drinks/time. The staff was AMAZING and the festive decide was perfect. My teenager usually gets the classic Chicken & Waffles plate and it is both a very generous portion and so tasty! I love shrimp & grits and Victory Hall does it so well- perfectly spiced and flavorful. Everyone who works there is sincerely kind and do not rush you out! How did I never know about this spot before? As a diehard Giants fan and Bay Area local, I thought I knew every good pregame bar, restaurant, and venue around the ballpark. Victory Hall completely caught me off guard--in the best way. It's exactly what I love about this city: always evolving, always surprising. But hey--I'm always down to give a venue a second shot. And I'm glad I did, because the energy running through this place is alive and thumping. Walking in felt familiar, but fresh. I was quickly greeted by Brendon behind the bar. I only had 30 minutes to make it to the ballgame, and we both laughed about how the new pitch clock rules don't leave you much wiggle room. We came here for brunch on New Year's Day, and enjoyed the live entertainment and music, delicious food, friendly service, and winning a raffle prize on the first day of the year, lol :D It's located in an alley, but street parking was easy right in front of the restaurant (in that alleyway). The venue is beautiful, and has almost an industrial feel but perhaps converted to what it is currently... clean, modern, spacious, two rooms (each with its own bar), unique light fixtures, and lots of artwork and color on the walls bringing so much character to the place. They even have a shelf of board games at the entrance, right next to the host podium. Little Skillet, whose kitchen is right next door, serves some amazing food here. The chicken and waffles definitely live up to the hype, juicy and crisp pieces of chicken (your choice of what pieces you want), and thick and fluffly waffles! The crab & seafood gumbo was amazing as well, the closest thing to soup that they had, the entire dish with awesome flavors and ingredients. The beignets aren't the best I've had, but they were still pretty damn good, light and airy, not too sweet, and even better as leftovers. If you're looking for great food and drinks and perhaps some live entertainment in a laid-back atmosphere, I definitely recommend this spot. read more

Was this the old popscene space, my partner and I ask ourselves? Why yes, underneath the slick and stylish renovation, you can catch glimpses of what came before. Sigh. Fortunately, Victory hall does a very fine job with the space, offering good bar service and a more cocktail specific menu. I would have liked to seen a beer menu that was a little more my style (the best options were some Almanac selections, a brewery I'm not usually a fan of) but the cocktails were well made and delicious. As a host to rotational dinner menu's (why my partner and I were there that night) it worked very well. Would recommend for something similar or a start of night beverage. read more

This place is a great place to meet up with friends especially when some are vegan and others are not. We went for the launch of their new vegan bar bites curated by Chef Raina and they were amazing. My personal favorite was the "No Crab Cakes" which were crispy and flavored perfectly. The Brussels sprouts were so soft as well, I just wish they came with a sauce. We also tried the vegan tacos which were simple but decent and the garlic fries which made a good snack. They also have non-vegan options and a whole dinner menu. My Bestie and I had our annual New Year Day brunch today. We had gone one year pre pandemic. She sent me a flyer and I was all in. I love the NOLA vibes with the brass band that was there today. When I worked on Third Street, I used to go to 330 Ritch, and while I don't think there is dancing at Victory Hall, it still reminded me of those times. This is a place where everyone belongs, even if you don't fit in. My clubbing days are over, and for the most part so are my days of drink, but every so often I take a sip. Harper was mixing the night I was at Victory Hall for a film festival after party and everyone was delighted by the drinks Harper was creating. I went to the bar with a friend expecting to order a soda water, but after watching Harper whip up a few specials I thought I would try a sidecar. Wonderful. And so is Harper: a quiet mixologist while working the craft, and also a kind conversationalist who made sure everyone was taken care of and had a good time and made it home safely. 11 of 10 will go back and I hope Harper is pouring. read more

I mean, standing there for over 20 minutes while watching others walk up, get instantly serviced and walk away while I stand there patiently, respectfully waiting. The first time this happened, I chalked it up to a mistake albeit waiting for 30 minutes. At the Dilla tribute event tonight, I experienced the exact same thing. As a 6'3 dark skinned dude, I'm not hard to miss so it doesn't take much imagination to wonder why there appears to be preferential treatment here. Needed a moment to have a quiet meal and a drink. Ordered fried chicken and a beer, and finished my food quickly, so I thought I'd move to the outdoor patio so I could sit outside with my dog. I asked the bartender earlier if I could move to the patio and she said it was fine. My car was literally one parking spot next to the patio, and so I placed my beer on the table to let my pup out and when I came back my beer was gone. Literally about a 30 second endeavor. When I asked about it, this nasty server told me that they're not allowed to have glass out there (not according to your fellow staff) and that there wasn't that much left (sorry bro doesn't matter. I really wanted to finish it) and then walked away without acknowledging me. Super terse and rude. I stood there asking if I could at least get another glass and he came out unapologetically and dropped a small glass of beer on the table then walked away righteously. Well, I'm not sure if it's really even fair to rate this bathroom. The place is cool and I liked being there but I'm here to unbiasedly rate the bathroom. I was initially welcomed with a wafty El Niño of poop air. Although my bladder full I was instantly distracted by a tidal wave of graffiti. Okay, fine. It's sort of dive 'bar-ey', but there were some other aspects less favorable. The gap between the door and the support beam was far too wide. I feel like I could accurately describe a fat man's waist diameter whilst deciding which side of the toilet paper dispenser to use. Not only that but there's literally a gap in the door that divides the poop station from the rest of the sophisticatedly domesticated world. A nice perk is the close proximity of the ATM incase I find myself regretting my life and deciding to move my upchuck from this dirty stall to the back seat of a taxi. read more

It's hard to believe that the cavernous space was an edgy club just a year ago but maybe not that incredulous since Ritch Street is an awfully dark alley at night. Still, it's clear that South Beach is hoping to evoke some of the more upscale, butt-clenching vibe that Pac Heights has in spades. I also got the bonus of a mini-cornbread muffin which I recall from my Farmerbrown dinner quite a while ago. Deanna and Mia were there and chatted with us at the bar to let us know their plans. We liked our experience enough to come back for a weeknight dinner. This time, we went for salads to monitor our girlish figures if you consider Precious girlish. Jamie had the $12 Cobb Salad, which was a fresh, robust bowl featuring hearts of Romaine, cut bacon, chunks of tomato and avocado, a halved hard-boiled egg and grated Parmesan cheese with toasted croutons and the ranch dressing on the side. Oh (eyyy), I've been twerkin on this street for so long, Like no one's watching 'cause YOLO, 330 Ritch is dead and gone, dead and gone... But Little Skillet's fried chicken lives on! One of the fondest memories I have of 330 Ritch is stumbling to the Little Skillet window at some point to help offset the ridiculous amount of alcohol consumed throughout the night in the most delicious way possible. The ghost of the sketchy SoMa nightclub of old lingers in the form of chicken and waffles at Victory Hall & Parlor and I couldn't be more stoked about it. It has adopted that swanky SoMa vibe but I feel the groove when I'm ordering and interacting with the staff and bartenders. They have a unique selection of beers and a food menu that is extensive but manageable. Chicken & Waffles - hell yes. Andouille n' grits - served hot as hell (temperature-wise) and delicious as fuuuh. Their french fries are straight up. No crinkles. Simply seasoned. Incredibly satisfying.
