I have not lived in Dallas in a while. Base this review off of that knowledge. I have been to Aldeez several times in the past, at their old location. The new location has been several other businesses,over time, including a sushi spot and another lounge type set up, if I'm not mistaken. However, as the new home of Aldeez, I feel that it is lacking the old Je ne sais quoi of the old location. The new location is more modern, but seemingly empty of the Caribbean flare that we all so loved of the original location. All that being said, it took FOREVER for us to receive service, even though we were sitting at the bar and it was not very busy on a weekday. There was no hostess at the hostess stand, no bartender at the bar, and no staff in the place whatsoever from our initial interaction or lack there of. Unprofessional if you ask me! Which demoted this review by one star. All in all, however, the food was absolutely gob smacking. Cooked to perfection and served piping hot, which is what you want of any plate, let alone food from the diaspora. So thank you, Aldeez for not changing your recipes, expanding your menu, and keeping Dallas culturally sound through the years. Bravooooo!!! Is this a club? Restaurant? Bar? All the above? So if you want to have all these experiences in one place this is the place to be! Surprisingly the food is GOOD! We had the farmers choice Sausages, fries, plantains, beef patties, rice and peas, Cabbages- everything was fantastic! Service was just okay I think our server forgot about us at times but she did the best she could since it was her by herself when we went. Was looking forward to experiencing this hidden jewel of African and Caribbean cuisine. However, the parking lot is so horrible that you are unable to park and visit the restaurant. I tried to come here on a Saturday night for dinner, but the parking lot is crowded because of the two clubs in the same vicinity. Therefore there is no parking and you spend an hour looking for parking and when you are hungry, this is a no go therefore this is not an establishment. I recommend you coming to on Friday nights, Saturday nights or any other night that the clubs Are open and popular. read more

The food is always amazing!! Portions are also great! I made sure to try it at least 3 different times before the review. To be completely transparent - The service is normally a tad slower than most restaurants but.... I'm ok with that; because the food is always cooked to perfection. I came here with one of my buddies for an event, and was not disappointed at all. I had the erk, shrimp, and as long as you are ok with a little spicy, you will enjoy it. The DJ inside is playing some good beats reggae music mostly, but it's definitely a vibe. They also have an outdoor patio area with Jenga pool tables and other games. I asked what's on HH drink menu....she says ohhhh we have cranberry, orange juice....imagine the look in my face. I asked what kind of vodka they use for well drinks....she leaves and comes back with we have gin, vodka, tequila. I'm still stumped. She can't possibly be this dumb-like born that day! I love this place, the staff and the patrons. Apparently they host a Kizomba class every 1st and 3rd Monday's so this was my introduction to the restaurant. Once class was over, a DJ played music for people to network and dance to, and the bar and kitchen opened up. Everyone was nice and the crowd was perfect. I ended up ordering a drink (cheap and strong) along with food (jollof rice, sautéed spinach and curry goat). Amazing. The seasonings were so good that I ended up ordering additional sides to go. I'll definitely be back. To the staff, please continue what you're doing. I look forward to attending more events. Great vibes. 4 stars because the place could use some TLC (upgrades). read more

My daughter who lives in Dallas took me here the night before we left. Oh man was I impressed. Hubby got the oxtail and they were prepared perfectly and were very delicious. My daughter and I got the jeep chicken with jollof rice. The spinach was good. I really wish they offered greens instead of spinach, that would have taken the plate to a new level. However, that doesn't distract from the fact that their food is delicious. Will definitely come back next time I am in Dallas. read more

It is hard to find good Caribbean food in Dallas I tell ya. But for once I am NOT disappointed. I first heard about this restaurant on instagram and been dying to check it out. After researching, I found out that they have a $11.23 per person (tax included) all you can eat buffet. The buffet is the best way to try as many items and see if you like the food before you actually buy a meal of one item. The buffet is only during lunch Monday-Friday 11am-2pm. On the buffet there is jerk chicken, curry chicken, chicken stew, curry goat, red snapper, white rice, jollaf rice and peas, sautéed spinach, cabbage, steamed veggies, plantains, corn on the cob, dinner rolls, French fries, chicken nuggets and watermelon. So I was impressed with the options there were. I arrived at 1pm and the place was empty so I was worried that the food wasn't good and with it being a hour left that it wasn't going to be fresh nor hot but boy was I wrong. Once you enter just let them know you want to do the buffet and you can go right over and fix your plate and start eating. I actually tried EVERYTHING and it all was amazing. I haven't had good experience with Caribbean food so I was indeed nervous but the flavors were definitely there. As I was at the register paying I talked to our server and she informed me of happy hour and about the oxtails being really good. I'm so happy I found some good Caribbean food with good quality curry sauce, plantains that are sweet and cabbage and spinach that's seasoned. Updated review: Aldeez is a joke now. I received some curry goat with NO MEAT, just bones. The last few times I ordered goat from here is was a little bit of meat and mostly bones or fat. I guess I didn't learn my lesson! I really didn't feel like going through the headache of trying to return it through UberEats so I just threw it in the trash. Oh! And the plate was 90% rice. I will NEVER spend my money here again. I used to enjoy it and ordered from here almost 2x a week but now ..... DO BETTER ALDEEZ!!!! So now I've been back a couple more times to feel out the vibes a bit more. Reggae Wednesday: I came back on a Wednesday for their HH drink specials til 9pm then with their free buffet starting at 9pm. The food was AMAZING & the drinks were stiff per usual. I was hoping to hear the live band but they never appeared while I was there so I eventually left around 9:30pm. Most people showed up at exactly 9pm just in time for the buffet which does go quickly so I say come early not late. Ladies Night: Just this past weekend a group of us came for ladies night to again see what the vibe was like. I ordered 2 well drinks which were $1 each, the others ordered $2 rum punches & whiskey & coke. We also ordered food which was fresh & delicious despite the really long wait & the food coming out all at different times smh. It seems they are making some time changes unfortunately. Now Reggae Wednesday free buffet will start at 10pm with the HH still being 5-9pm. Ladies night HH is now gonna be 5-9pm vs 7-11pm which really sucks because most people prefer the later hours but oh well business is business. My only downsides to Aldeez is that one the music is way too loud -- maybe its a culture thing but we all left with headaches & ears ringing. We literally had to text each other because it was too loud to hear anyone talk. We would've stayed longer but that was a deal breaker. Secondly, the layout is just weird with them having 2 sides & not much seating. You would think the venue would be spacious enough but they aren't necessarily equipped for big groups plus couples coming in. The bar has limited seating so you may end up standing or sitting on the bench on the side. Lastly, the wait for the food was way too long. I almost fell asleep plus I was 1 drink down & thirsty. The waitress wasn't as attentive as she could've been (honestly none of them are you pretty much have to walk up to them) as we would've ordered my drinks during HH but she was gone most the time. Why have a waitress & still have to get up to go to the bar to order smh. Once we finally finished I went up to the bar & got our to-go boxes so we could just leave. Those reasons are why I cannot give them 5 stars. Overall, a nice spot to have cheap drinks & amazing food! read more

It's so rare I actually review something but I have to say this is the best jerk chicken I've found outside of homemade. My husband is Bajan so I know what I'm talking about when I say this is amazing. The chicken has that delicious, Smokey, super flavorful skin and it's so tender, juicy, and falling apart inside. It's spiced really well and spicy but not too burning your mouth spicy (too hot for my husband but he's not a spicy guy). I'm honestly so happy right now. They gave a half chicken and a huge side of jollof rice (also amazing) for a super reasonable price. The beef patties are delicious as well although I wish they were a little crispier on the outside. The only thing that would make this place the best ever would be if they had coco bread, other than that, this is hands down my new favorite place for Caribbean food. read more

Visited this restaurant for a late lunch on Saturday. Pros: The food was good and the portions were massive! They played great music, along with the music videos. Cons: Some of the food tasted like left overs, it didn't take away from the taste of the food but some of my meal was piping hot while other parts were luke warm as if it was reheated - fresh food is always better. I'm currently finishing out my first trimester so my cravings have been extremely scattered as of late. I literally woke up wanting some goat curry yesterday and spent two hours deciding where I wanted to go. Eventually I decided on Aldeez (an hour away from my home) and came with my sister. I ordered the goat curry with rice and peas, cabbage, and plantain. I struggle with finishing most meals these days because they don't taste the way I remember before being pregnant. But I ate every single piece of this food minus the bones and fat. I'd post a photo but I think that's pretty raggedy. I brought my husband the the beef patties and jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage, and as a man that doesn't care for chicken nor peas... he loved it. Not a single complaint. Imma Aldeez fan for sure, and a second time reviewer. Well this one's to highlight my last phone order and was straight up denied curb side pick up. Not to mention, this response took me by surprise, as I know that the staff are nice and friendly. Isn't curbside a new norm for the restaurant industry serving during this never ending pandemic? Should I mention that the restaurant was 5% busy (just 2 customers) while we were picking up the food. When a woman customer, with a baby inside a car, calls in and orders food for $100 and requests for a curbside delivery, Corona Virus or not, pls show us some customer service along with that Caribbean charm yo, nah seriously man! read more

Customer service was terrible my friends ordered the oxtails and there were tough, I ordered the tilapia and my food never came because the waitress never told the cooks. We asked about the happy hour drinks the waitress said it would only consist of beer and soft drinks, what 13 year old is going to happy hour?
