In the past, the shrimp has been switched out with crab, with no problem. Tonight, I ordered the "Rainbow Trout & Jumbo Crab", which also comes with shrimp. This time, I was told that there would be a $5 upcharge to switch the shrimp with crab, which is the price for adding crab to any order. No amount would be taken off for leaving off the shrimp. I declined, and accepted that they would simply leave off the shrimp. Then, my entree had only half as much crab as my friend who had ordered the exact same thing, but kept the shrimp. So, apparently, I was punished for objecting to the upcharge to substitute crab for shrimp--they only gave me half as much for what comes with that entree. Every other seafood restaurant that I go to has been very accommodating to offer something to switch with shrimp on an entree (usually crab). This policy will cause me to choose one of these other restaurants, instead of Pappadeaux, in the future, along with my friends and family who come with me.
