Came in to buy items for a charcuterie board on saturday 12.06.25. Didn't realized items was expired and should had been pulled on or before 11.30.25 until i was preparing it on Tuesday. Went in to exchange and was unable to exchange since expired products from 11.30.25 were still on shelves, along with products expiring the same day. Clearly employees do not care about pulling outdated products, or about FIFO.. Id understand if it was same day expired product, but when I bought my items it was expired for almost a week. To come back a week after and to see it still on the shelf. Yes,I should have also checked the dates myself , I will be more diligent when shopping. Please do better Aldi. This Aldi is located in a shopping center close to Knott's. They're almost in the corner, close to Planet Fitness. I will say, the crowd and area here is not as shady as the location on Euclid in Anaheim. I was doing a price comparison between this place and Amazon Fresh and basically Amazon Fresh beat this place by about $0.70 but were around the same price for items I regularly purchase. I will say, the quality is better at Amazon Fresh and the amount you get for the price is less. On the outside of the store there are signs stating they're #1 in price. This is the filthiest "convenience" store I have ever been in. Everything is picked through and thrown around. Over near where the flour and masa are stored on pallets you can see what looks like vermin droppings. The store is a mess. The checkers sit on their bottoms and scan the products and they WILL NOT bag your items. They just point to an area with massive amounts of carts are everywhere. The meat section had expired meat on my visit. What a complete and utter disappointment. ..and you have to put a quater in a slot to get a cart? I am a regular Aldi customer, since I've become pregnant I've been doing online pick up orders. Yesterday I did my weekly pick up order per usual that my husband picks up on his way home from work. He parked in the slot, after 10-15 min of waiting I get a notification that no one is available to bring the order out and he needs to go inside to pick up. This has never happened before and the notification reads "your items are in a cart ready to be picked up". My husband comes home and I immediately unload the cold items while quickly getting dinner started since it took so long for the groceries. It was a busy night and I didn't check to make sure all items were received since that's never been a problem before. I am currently 8.5 months pregnant and had been wanting a strawberry banana smoothie. At 5am I wake up and don't recall placing that in the freezer when unloading the groceries last night. I get up to check, and it's not there. I go check my receipt and notice that all frozen items we purchased we didn't receive. I tell my husband he has to go back when he gets off work. I decide to ride with him, just to get out the house with our other two kids. I have no plans of getting out the car. My husband goes in with the screen shot of items were missing, circled in red, and then about 5 min later he comes out empty handed. He said the lady told him if the items were found and we didn't receive them then we need to call customer service and work it out with them. Again, I'm 8.5 months pregnant, I paid for these items and it's not our fault that they weren't received. I go in and ask to speak to the manager. She tells me she is the manager. She has no name tag on. I show her the items and tell her what happened yesterday and show her that all missing items are frozen. She goes "oh he didn't tell me they were frozen". I said, "He doesn't do the grocery order so he doesn't know". She said "okay it'll be two minutes". I walk behind her to step off to the side and she nearly hits my belly with a cart, she apologizes and I stand off waiting. I've now been waiting about ten minutes, the line continues to grow. I ask her how much longer bc I have kids in the car, and my husband had to be somewhere soon. She says "just one minute". I said, okay. Continued waiting. Then another worker comes out and she tells her to open up another register, instead of having her take over for her so she can go check for my items. Now a HUGE order is on her belt. I said, "I'm sorry are you getting ready to take this order?" I've been waiting for 15 min now off to the side. She turns and rudely says "yes I already told you I'm the only one out on the floor" I look over to the other girl, she says "she just came back from her lunch" I said "okay well you told me two minutes and now it's been 15" she said "what do you want me to do? I can't abandon the register and these customers" I said "well I'm a customer too and I've already paid for the items that are missing. This is an inconvenience bc we were supposed to receive our items yesterday and we didn't so now we had to come back up here to receive items that have already been paid for". She said "you know what you can do, you can just call customer service now and ask for a refund". I was appalled at that point. After I've been waiting for 15 min, a total of 20 min that we've been up here and have not been helped and did I mention how pregnant I am!? I told her "I'm not doing that, I want my items" she said, "you know you're just making this longer than it has to be bc now I have to stop and talk to you". I said, "you can scan and talk at the same time". She finishes the order asks for my name and goes to the back. I think to myself, I don't have time for this I'll just go grab my items myself. I go grab the items, I see her come out and I ask did she find them. She says no. I said okay. With my three missing items I begin to walk towards the exit. She says, "so someone must've put your items back since they weren't picked up so our policy is you call customer service to get a refund". I said, "I already grabbed them". She said, "if you walk out of here with those items that's like stealing". I told her, "it's not bc I have a receipt for what I paid for and these were never received, and you can call the cops". Turned around and walked out. She followed me out saying I couldn't shop at that store anymore and she would ban me from pick up orders, I yelled back okay that's fine. Absolutely terrible customer service. The worst I've ever received anywhere. Do you really think I would come up here 8.5 months pregnant to steal 3 items!????? I do my shopping online so I don't HAVE to come into the store!!!! And then the way I was spoken to was absolutely out of line. This is a popular Aldi because it's conveniently located near other shops and Knott's Berry Farm theme park. There is plenty of parking. They always have ads at the entrance, but I wish they didn't print out so many. What a waste because no one reads them or they end up on the parking lot ground as waste anyway. Aldi is different in that they have a self-bagging area. Make sure to bring your own bags and move your shopping cart out to the side after you get the receipt. read more

I like shopping at stores that do not inconvenience me. Aldi does not fit into that category. First inconvenience: you must always carry a quarter with you in order to retrieve a cart, you will need a cart because they do not provide hand baskets. Therefore if you did not bring a quarter, you are kinda screwed. Second inconvenience: waiting in very long lines for checkout because there are always only 2 registers open. Sadly, the checkout process is not easy breezy as you think it would be, why? Because the rude cashiers will rush you through the line as if there is no more time in the world. If you do not pay fast enough, they will scold you and stare you down. Third inconvenience: for some bizarre reason they will chuck your items into another customer's cart, which inconveniently forces you to sort out what belongs to you and the other customer after the transaction. Fourth inconvenience: Aldi does not provide bags unless you do not mind paying extra for a bag(s). So after wasting time sorting your own items, you must transfer your items to the cart you originally put your quarter in. Then finally bag your own items on a baby changing table across from the registers. Fifth inconvenience: after unloading your items into your car, you must push your cart back to the corral that is in front of the store in order to retrieve your quarter (this only applies if you were lucky enough to retrieve a cart in the first place). Like I said, with a store that has so many inconveniences, it doesn't entice me to go there. This system is retarded and the whole shopping experience is just not enjoyable, I think I will stick to Trader Joe's. read more

Absolutely one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. I purchased some groceries there, the cashier helping me was a young lady named Jessica. I gave her a $100 dollar bill, she gives me change and I left. I should have checked the change right there but I didn't because I assumed that cashier knew how to count. I go to my car and check the receipt and notice I was shorted $10. When I go back in, the said cashier was very rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. She had me wait and showed no concern. Later she claimed she counted and gave me the right amount, which was bullsh-t. Then some other lady said she witnessed the cashier counting and said I received the correct change. Seriously? After some back and forth and more waiting, I was refunded the shorted amount. But of course, I got more attitude, as if they were doing me some favor for refunding me the amount they shorted me and my poor dad was waiting in the car the whole time. I have been a pretty big Aldi fan, but I have not been there since the pandemic began. All my shopping has been online. Last night (after a frustrating online order fail with Target) I placed an order for pick up on the Aldi website. 1) There was a coupon for free pickup for first order. (See photo.) The coupon was not honored. I spend about 20 minutes in an online chat (for $1.99!!!) and the "help" person was clueless. I did not get the $1.99. I did not get my 20 minutes back. 2) I don't buy oil in plastic. (The oil can react with endocrine disrupters in the plastics.) When ordering online the olive oil I bought appeared to be in a glass bottle, but it was in plastic. 3) I bought heavy cream. It had mono- and diglycerides in it as an additive!! (Presumably a way to get around the trans fats labeling laws.) Aldi has been better in the past about keeping frankenfoods out of the store. This was disappointing. On the plus side, the person who loaded the groceries into my trunk was very nice and helpful. And after looking through a few of the other rather shocking reviews (one about a worm in meat!!! and another about a loudmouthed cashier), I think I got off easy. I hope this store is not on the downhill slide. It has a lot of potential. read more

Im not sure if your policy is to kick people out , but she stated i had ti leave and kept pointing to the door to leave. She could have said if i had my items and was ready to checkout then she could attend me and if not then ask me to leave but instead kept pointing to the door i wasn't even talking to her because i was on my AirPods shopping minding my business. April 21 was their official grand opening, so Stephen and I went to check out the place on Saturday morning, during their grand opening weekend. Located across the street from the Buena Park Mall, a few doors down from Michaels and PetSmart is this new German-owned Grocery chain. (They also own Trader Joe's). Their set up is pretty much like their German counterpart... if you want a shopping cart you insert a quarter in the lock to release a cart (you get the quarter back when you return the cart). The aisles are not fancy, and there's shelves and shelves of products, most of which are in their cardboard boxes. The prices are very competitive. Like Trader Joe's, they carry their "own" brand of food items. So if you like National Brand Names, chances are this is not the place for you. You will, however find some commercial brands like Oscar Mayer or Cheerios, but mostly it's generic items which look "very close to" the National brand. I really liked their produce selection, and the prices were very good. We found a lot of items which were made in Austria or had German influence, and we also found a good amount of Hispanic food (which you won't find in Europe!). Even the check out was exactly like Aldi in Germany. You bring your own bag (or buy one for 10c to 15c, depending on the bag), the clerk rings up your groceries and puts them back in the cart. You wheel the cart to the counter against the wall and bag your own stuff. Or.. wheel your stuff to the car and bag it there. Overall I was pleased with the store. Its not quite a Fresh and Easy, where I can get prepacked stuff to make at home, but its definitely not a big retail market. It'll take a little getting used to, but I'm in for the new challenge. read more

This store has a nice variety of choices. Love the German cookies and sausages. The stores are clean and organized. The bread selection is very nice. Love the European style bread choices. The produce is nice and I love to try their specials. I wish they still sent their ad in the ad's that are home delivered. I would shop there more often. All three wick candles from Huntington Home are priced at $3.99 each, so I grabbed 3, but when I came to check out, Amber told me they had different prices that 2 of them were almost $5. I just told her I saw the price tag at $3.99 for all Huntington Home three wick candles and she was rudely saying she didn't get what I meant with her rolling eyes and showed me really bad attitude. I told her I would come back to the aisle to take a photo of a price tag to show her and she escalated it and made it very complicated by saying the photo of a price tag didn't help. Not quite a fan of this tiny grocery store. Its one of those places that has a following. I am not part of that fad yet. The layout is weird too. Located in DownTown Buena Park where Toys r Us or Circuit City used to be a decade ago. They specialize in their own brand of food and a few off brands. I went in for some corn beef, which they had for $3.99 for a weird brand. The rice I purchased was also another brand. Prices here are a little cheaper, but I think it is because one is not buying name brand items. Service is obsolete. I looked for help to find an item and nothing. Check out was slow. I have only seen one or two cashiers both times I was there.. I guess that is why cashiers get to sit and scan. You bag your own stuff that is placed in a cart next to the cashier. No, don't take that cart. That is their cart. Your suppose to transfer everything into a new cart or bags, if you but bags. I really dont like this bag your own food concept. Back in my day there were cashiers and baggers. You paid for your groceries and the bagger would bag everything accordingly. Salaries are going up, yet the amount of work expected is going down. Came in Saturday 1/13/2024 morning had an encounter with one of the female managers at the time she was cleaning the floors . As an Instacart shopper i wasn't sure how to get a basket since all I had was a card. So I asked her and she gave me the worst attitude I have experienced. We do 90% of our grocery shopping at this location for a family of 4. Things are usually pretty good and we love coming here. The cashieres need to chill and take there time with people. Stop trying to rush everyone through. It makes people uncomfortable and things can go even slower. This is the 3rd container of sour cream in the last couple weeks that has been disgustingly sour with either a milk consistency or cottage cheese consistency. YUCK. Somewhere along the way a load of sour cream was not refrigerated. I'll keep coming back but Aldi needs to remember the quality of food comes first and then it's the customer experience. The store itself is not huge, and it does not have everything that a normal grocery store has, but what they do have, I was very happy about about the prices.
