I've been eating at Atoyubu religiously since it opened, but when Let Eat Yogurt opened in the same strip mall a couple of years ago, I thought it was just another froyo spot or something - I was dead wrong. Kkeu-deok is Korean-style thick yogurt that is thicker (think almost cream cheese like in consistency), a little drier, and due to the straining process, has more protein! Why hasn't this caught on in the states yet, I do not know... but it should! If you want to customize your own bowl, it works similarly to getting an acai bowl. You'll choose a yogurt base and how many scoops you want of it, of which they have a few flavors. Went for blueberry this time and it had delicious chunks of blueberry mixed in. Then you choose your toppings like freshly cut fruit, some sweeter options like mochi, things like honey and agave to drizzle/mix in, along with honey granola. The folks working there were also super kind and patient and were willing to walk us through the process as new customers. The fruit is delicious and very fresh, though the strawberries were definitely on the tart side. The yogurt isn't too sweet, but it's also surprisingly not that tart. So if you're expecting Greek yogurt level of tart, you won't get that BUT they do sell a grape yuzu yogurt that might be up your alley! You see, they sell packaged yogurt in to go friendly containers with some interesting flavors, so we ended up getting yuzu grape and banana pudding. I'm a banana pudding FIEND and I say that this is one of the best variations of banana pudding I've had anywhere. AND it's healthy and has lots of protein! There is a parking lot but it is shared with the business on the plaza strip, we got the very last spot. My friends and I got the mango yogurt shaved ice and I also got the matcha strawberry iced drink. The mango yogurt shaved ice was really good! It was soft and melted in my mouth. The mango and yogurt flavor was present. I also really liked how they topped the shaved ice with their yogurt. The texture of their yogurt was really fun (it has a thick consistency like cream cheese) and the flavor a subtle, slightly tangy yogurt flavor, which i really enjoyed. We are visiting the area from out of state and met our good friends here to check it out. Apparently, there is some viral hype about some of their items. So, I leave thinking I'll just come back after my chiropractor appointment. Low and behold, they still have some left when I get back, there is no longer a line and there are a few parking spots. My friend asked me to get her six, the max you can buy. They are $6 each and seems they only make them on Saturdays. If you do your research, the inside of the cookie is the obvious Dubai chocolate mixed with kadayif, which is extra fine shreddded Phyllo dough, however, the outside LOOKS like mochi, it is actually melted marshmallows. The cookies then dusted with cocoa. My thought is that it's unique, a bit overly sweet for me, chewy on the outside & crunchy on the inside. My coworkers recommended this place and I finally stopped by on a weekday lunch. So glad I did! It's a cute little spot tucked in a small plaza next to Atoyubu, with a few tables and bar seating. The owner greeted us right when we walked in. I went with the plain thick yogurt bowl topped with honey drizzle, grapefruit, kiwi, and yuzu puree. My friend got hers with chocolate syrup, strawberry, mango, and mochi with granola on the side. Both were amazing. The yogurt is honestly hard to describe...somewhere between ice cream and cream cheese, but lighter. Like Greek yogurt without any of the tanginess. It felt indulgent but still on the healthier side, which I really appreciated. Some might say it's a bit pricey, but you really can't find anything like this elsewhere. My opinions on this shop has not changed one bit. The yogurt was good the first time I tried it and couple other times after that I did not leave a review for and now as well. I went to try the Dubai chocolate line and I have to say despite it being a yogurt shop, they do an amazing job at making the Dubai chewy cookie. The flavor was consistent throughout and it is not too sweet so it does not leave you with a sugar crash. It is also a bit bigger than most places at the same price point so this place is a steal! I couldn't finish the Dubai chocolate bowl in one sitting as it is a lot but the taste is good. The injeolmi yogurt is also really good. It has a subtle Injeolmi taste at first but the aftertaste has a stronger Injeolmi flavor. It also comes with nuts on the side as a mix-in. Came here on a Tuesday night, and it wasn't crowded at all. It was a calm environment with soft music playing. We ordered the corn bingsoo and the portion was definitely enough to feed the two of us.
