We like Aldi. We've saved a lot of grocery money by shopping there. We've shopped at several of their stores in our area, but this was our first visit to Aldi in New Milford. And while we got along fine in the store, the parking area is not for the meek. It's small, crowded and drivers seem to move through it way too fast for everyone's safety. We watched one nearly hit a woman coming out of the store, and that wasn't an uncommon experience. (Also the entrance to this store isn't as obvious as might be hoped; we drove past it and had to turn around to get in.) Once in, however, we found the store clean, of decent size with a full stock. We didn't interact with any employees and made our self-checkout without incident. Other Yelpers apparently haven't been as fortunate Nate, but this is our experience. read more

It was a busy time of day - a Saturday late morning or near noon. We were at check out I paid cash it was a little over $100. As I was paying - with the cashier in the usual rush rush rush mode putting the stuff into a cart as fast as possible another ALDI worker suddenly walked over to "my" cashier and was saying something to him. I realized as I started to move the cart away after paying, I mentioned to my GF that I did not get my 60 cents of change (a tiny amount - but it's the principal). He immediately said to me "I gave you your change" so I said "Where's my receipt?" (btw don't you usually/normally get both change and receipt at the same time?) He had the receipt sticking out of the fingers of his right hand. I took it and I decided not to make a big deal over 60¢ but I thought it was annoying to say the least. I think that because the cashiers at ALDI are in a mad rush they are prone to making errors. Out in the parking lot I checked my pockets - I had 52¢ from previous shopping that morning. I should have seen at least the 60 cents. read more

I just moved here and never been to an Aldi before but a few neighbors recommended it so we decided to try it out. When we go inside and I don't see any carts but I see a woman just about to leave and I go to use her cart when a cashier runs up and starting schooling me on how I need to understand this is the cashiers cart and how I have to get my own. Then he goes on to say if you don't have a quarter then I'll give you one and he slams a quarter in my hand like I'm poor and can't afford to rent a stupid shopping cart! This man, short older white guy with a grey pony tail, embarrassed me and my family to no end today. I threw the quarter back at him and told him we were leaving, immediately he was like oh no don't, but we left anyway. I can't believe how nasty and condescending this person was to me and my family today. We drove five minutes away to stop and shop and spent $500 there instead. After seeing a few of the other reviews I'm not surprised how I was treated at this location, lesson learned, I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

The prices are still lower than in other grocery stores, but now they replaced the cashiers with self check out stations. I wish I knew, i wouldn't have bought family groceries for the week! With a very small landing there i dropped my avocado oil. An employee came over, removed the glass, but left the puddle of oil on the floor! And i was still there, checking the rest of my groceries. I considered leaving all of it behind, but other shoppers needed that register. I complained to the employee there, he said " we still have a register with a cashier, we just don't sit around there". They took the service, have me do the cashier's job and leave a puddle of oil on the floor so that someone could fall? If i come back there, it will be for one or two things only read more

Great store, i have never had issues with aldi's and have been shopping here since it's opening. My issue started in the parking lot with the maintenance man and his blower.... he came through as soon as I parked and he sent a sand and salt cyclone from the sidewalk right onto the first row of cars and handicap spaces closest to the building, i backed up and parked elsewhere but there was already a grime coat of sand and salt stuck to my car that was just detailed, especially everything that was rubbed down with back to black... front bumper, fenders, mirrors, side boards... I made a compliant already. Aldi's maybe you should hire a competant maintenance crew with at least one micron of brain material. read more

I have read about this discount grocer a couple of times over the years. Those of you have been inside one of their stores before, know that it is a bare bones operations. They don`t even have many shelves. Quite a few of the items are still sitting in the large cardboard boxes that they were shipped in. And all of the items come in one size. So if you want some maple syrup, you better be interested in the 16oz., because if you want a 8oz. or 24 oz., you are out of luck. Because producing only one size bottle is more cost efficient and thats what this company goes with. The positive aspect is because they do random things like this, also charging $ for a bag, they sell their items for prices that are generally on the lower scale. You can find bacon and some bigger pieces of beef, chicken, etc. But I would stick to picking up non-perishables and maybe some eggs and milk at Aldi. read more

The prices are reasonable, however the parking is atrocious, you have to bring your own bags, you have to pay to use a cart, it is 25 cents but still. The store is small with 20% brand name products. Also the entrance and exit are confusing leaving people to enter in the the exit rather than the entrance. read more

First of all the whole thing in grocery shopping is about saving money. Before shopping at aldi in New Milford I would shop at aldi in Torrington I love the store and I have saved a lot of money by shopping at Aldi. You can't buy everything there so I still shop at another grocery store but in the long run I love aldi.!!! Thank you aldi for saving me a lot of money!!!! read more

I like this place when it comes to do my own food shopping but I work at a restaurant in the next plaza over and this employee/manager/assistant manager from this specific New Milford location, by the name of Jessica, calls us frequently to deliver food to her and mind you, we do NOT deliver personally and always operate through a 3rd party delivery service, so we go out of OUR way each time to either walk/drive over to the next plaza to deliver the food to Jessica, who always spends at least $20, and not once has she ever tipped any of our hard working employees who take the time out and deliver to her. It is very insulting and extremely rude of her not to tip, seeing as she works with the public, we are all struggling during these hard times to pay our bills to put food on the table JUST like her and even a dollar would've been OK but you see how cheap some people are and it shows! She doesn't even acknowledge us just signs the receipt fast! This is the third time its happened to me personally (Can't imagine how many time she's done this to my co workers) sooo no more personal deliveries to you miss Jessica! shame on you! We are big fans of Aldi. Quality groceries at low prices. I have cut my grocery bill in half. They are able to keep their costs down by limiting the inventory they carry and rotating featured specials for variety. This is more of a European model Supermarket. Many of their specialty products are high quality imported items. They have increased their organic offerings and a commitment to no artifical additives. It may take a few shopping trips to familiarize yourself with their shopping philosophy, but well worth it. I love their frozen Ahi tuna steaks, the grass fed ground beef, organic products, meat (rib steaks, fresh beef burgers) and chicken, and their chocolate is excellent. The frozen prepared offerings are similar to Trader Joe's ( owned by the other brother) and many products are half the price of area supermarkets. And did I mention their ever changing housewears aisle? Great items featured weekly too. read more

This place is amazing, just what New Milford needed. The food is great the store is cleand and the people who work there are very friendly! The person who complained about the .25 cents for a cart, well you get that .25 cents back when you put your cart back. When I started shopping there, I found the prices to be very reasonable. I noticed that within the past few weeks prices are going up on certain items. Eggs were 1.19. Now they are 1.99. Milk is over 3.00 a gallon. The kitchen trash bags were 4.99 for 80 bags. Now there 4.99 for 45 bags. Produce is good some days and not so good other days. Still the prices on alot of other things are reasonable. The store personnel seem very nice. I continue to shop there on a weekly basis. I just hope that prices don't start to go up o0n other items. read more
