The new location at the Chandler Gilbert Community College is basically an asphalt parking lot, which takes away the whole charm of the experience. We arrived, saw the no-dogs sign, and then saw that the market was set up on hot asphalt in the sun, so we turned around and left. That was especially frustrating after making the trip, since the old downtown location was so much more inviting and enjoyable. It is a shame they moved it from downtown Gilbert to a parking lot setting. The old location felt like a community event. This one just didn't.

This market is incredibly well-organized, vibrant, and packed with the best local goods Arizona has to offer. The variety here is outstanding. You can find everything from gorgeous, locally grown seasonal produce and fresh eggs to artisanal bread, local honey, and gourmet coffee. The quality of the products is consistently top-notch, everything just tastes fresher and better than the grocery store. The atmosphere is lively and family-friendly, but never overwhelmingly crowded. It truly captures that wonderful community feel. There are always great food vendors serving ready-to-eat treats and local musicians performing, which makes browsing even more enjoyable. It's also a great spot to meet the actual farmers and makers behind the products. Logistics: It's easy to get to, and while it's popular, the flow of the market keeps things moving smoothly. If you live in the East Valley or are just visiting, make sure the Gilbert Farmers Market is on your weekend itinerary. It's a highlight of the community and truly deserves all five stars!

That changed radically recently as I decided to give it another chance as I was in the area and ended up scoring some unexpected and amazing deals. I don't go to HMart in Mesa much anymore as this store has just about everything I need and is so much closer. If you want live seafood, you'll find plenty here. I really like the abundance of fresh vegetables and they're really cheap. I always pick up a kombucha squash to roast for my fur baby too. Tofu prices are the cheapest I've seen so I stock up as I love making mapo tofu and spicy tofu soup. They also have a food court and a bakery inside the store so it's very convenient to grab to go or even eat there as they have a small seating area. I do wish they had more cashiers as the lines are always so long no matter what time or day it is.

There are certain ice cream bars that I have only been able to find here too like the matcha ice cream bars that use good quality matcha. Some items here can be a bit more expensive so I usually go to my other usual spot instead for majority of things on my list. Was just here on Mother's day and picked up this new ube coconut spread which was $10 for 5.8oz. I would say that is expensive. They did let everyone take a carnation flower home on this day. That was nice. This store is always busy on the weekend. The parking is so bad. It can be difficult to get a parking spot on the busy weekends and people take forever to get in their car and leave the parking spot. Lately, I've been noticing how slow the cashiers are and the lines to pay can get pretty long. They really take their time picking items up, scanning and putting items into the bag. There is no sense of urgency at all. It would help to get some faster cashiers or retrain to improve speed, or even add a self check out area.

Clearly, this was the big draw for many of the people coming to check out the market (or we just had poorly timed our visit with when the free yoga class was over). We did look around, but sadly, ended up not getting anything from the handful of vendors that were there. It's a great location and has so much potential. There just needs to be more vendors/booths and maybe even a bakery that offers bread would be major plus to improving this market. Will be back, but I don't know if it will be anytime soon.

10/04/2025 Visited the Downtown Chandler Farmer's Market for…read morethe first time. It wasn't located in its usual spot that day due to a different event. It was quite small compared to other farmer's markets that I've been to. Vendors were selling AZ honey, sourdough, baked goods, skincare, charcuterie boards, sandals, farm fresh fruits and vegetables, and more. The strawberries from the farm were a beautiful red and looked so good. There was also a BBQ vendor selling sandwiches that smelled really good. I got a pretzel from one of the sourdough vendors, and it was delicious! Loved the texture. I stopped by 10:19 Coffee to check out their menu, and everything sounded so good! I love matcha and blueberry, so I got the Boo-berry Cloud. The barista asked for my sweetness preference and if I like the taste of matcha. Based on my responses, she recommended half sweet with an extra shot of matcha, and it was perfect for me! It was also adorably decorated with a "spooky ghost" that I assume was made with cream (see the photo!). That day was also the first time that the market had young entrepreneurs participate as vendors. I heard that they plan to do it once a month now. There were 7 kids booths selling snow cones, Halloween items, glassware, lemonade, dog treats, cookies, bracelets, and other trinkets. The one selling snow cones also hosted a few contests with the young entrepreneurs, with the prize being a free snow cone. All of the kids looked like they were having fun. Overall I had a nice time walking around the market with my mom. I will definitely come back as the weather starts to cool down!

The shop itself is clean and cutely decorated. Love the story of how this fun concept was created and learned that they are franchised in several other states as well. Staffing was young people, friendly and smiling as we took our time to order...even though we had previewed the menu, you always have to take time to reread everything once in the store! Three of us are banana fiends and as soon as one of us ordered the Bananas Foster, we were told they didn't have any bananas. One of the young men shared that they had been out of them for a few days and when their order was delivered the day before, still no bananas. After noticing that there are four or five different options that use bananas, it was odd that the crew didn't figure out another way to get bananas. One of our group said aloud, "wonder about getting some petty cash out of the till and going over to the supermarket to purchase some?" No response, just a repeat that we wouldn't be able to order anything that had bananas in it. Ok, so I am a big strawberry/banana fan and I had to pivot and ended up ordering a chocolate malt. Two others also order the chocolate malt, and I'm glad they got theirs first because they both said it didn't taste like malt was in it, just chocolate. I asked for a double scoop of malt in mine and the outcome was perfect with a nice malt flavor. So if ordering the malt, go for double scoop! Wife had the Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae and she enjoyed it. She said the vanilla ice cream had a great, strong vanilla flavor and although the hot fudge wasn't "hot", it was a good dish she said. We had one other situation occur while there: One friend had ordered a malt without whip cream. The young man making it squirted a ton of whip cream on the top and when she reminded him no whip, he took his gloved hand and removed the whip cream from the top of the drink, put the lid on and called it good. What???? And then I also had sad no whip and as mine was being made, a squirt of whip was added and when he realized it was no whip, he used the lid of the container to remove the tad of whip from the top. What??? These two situations along with the banana fiasco equates to a three star rating from me. Overall it was a fun experience but obviously the crew could use some additional training as well as figuring out how to go around the system when something as important as bananas aren't in your order. Go buy some from the store!
