I remember a time when the highest priced men's shoe at Aldo only cost $80. These days, $80 is the price of pair of shoes that are on sale. Wow. One would think that the quality would also improve. Sadly, no. Aldo has succumbed to recession, inflation, etc. I just can't see myself paying $100 for a pair of dress shoes made of low quality leather. At least the associates here understand value. Aldo shoes pretty much sell themselves, yet they're busting their humps upselling and bringing out complementary styles for shoppers to try on. I was in the market for everyday work shoes. I had exhausted all of my other options at Fashion Valley so I bought a pair leather uppers at Aldo for the sale price of $70. I've walked by this place for sooo many years. Even after the dumpy remodel of the mall, I never really ever stopped in. Recently, saw a pair of patent pumps on sale there. Didn't have time to buy it there so saw the same pair online, for cheaper. Online is great - they deliver fast and if you sign up for their emails, you get 10% off your first purchase. Problem was, when I got the shoes, they hurt like a mother effer. My feet tend to be wide so I was kinda bummed that the shoes didn't seem like they'd work out. Called ALDO at UTC and they said they could stretch the width of the shoes - for FREE! The girls there - Aubrey and Pegah - are totally incredible. So nice and so patient. They stretched out my shoes and I'm so grateful. I might need to go back a few more times to get shoes more stretched but for the most part, they helped a poor girl save her poor aching feet from trying to break in these beautiful patent pumps. I have bought shoes from Nordstroms, Saks, etc etc. They *maybe* offer to stretch shoes but it's always for 10 minutes. And the stretch sucks. Totally worthless. So to have a store like ALDO do it for free and with care...it's so awesome. So thank you ALDO LJ! read more

Yes, there is a way around this minor issue, but I feel compelled to write a review about this particular store based off of my latest experience... keep reading! My SIL and I visited this location last Friday, which was Black Friday. We both found some cute looking rainboots. First, a gentleman helped us out and he was very friendly, professional and probably the most decently clothed associate there (I'll elaborate more later). They had these rainboots in stock in a womens size 7.5 and 10. I fit into a size 9 in their regular boots, but a 9.5 in other styles. I was debating whether to buy the 10 or look for a 9 elsewhere. Another associate helped us out and told us we could purchase the boots that day to receive the Black Friday discount, then order the other sizes online and then come back to the store to do an exchange. Well my SIL wasn't too sure about the way the 7.5 fit either, so we decided to do as the second associate suggested. Upon checkout, we learn from the cashier and manager that this particular rainboot cannot be ordered online. So we quickly concluded that we'd buy the boots and go to a different Aldo that has our sizes in stock and do the exchange there. Then we found out that an exchange wasn't permissible until after Cyber Monday... ugh! We were about to just leave the shoes and the cashier decided to call a manager over for assistance. She comes over and tells us about their insoles that might make the fit more snug. Ummm hello?! It took a manager to offer that suggestions after three separate associates helped us out? The cashier, that's another story! I also purchased a pair of boots to be delivered to me. She handed me a post-it note to write down my contact info for her to enter into the system afterwards. Long story short, I've been waiting for an confirmation email so I can track my order. Well, that's hard to do when your email address is entered incorrectly. It's just so bizarre! I wrote down my first and last name for the transaction and that is the beginning part of my email address! Anyway, ended up buying both rainboots and insoles. I just feel like all of the associates there are not on the same page with general information. Back to the dress code for their employees. I've been shopping at Aldo for years now. Initially, they have always seemed professional in appearance. But now I don't know if I am at a Victoria Secret's fashion show or a strip club! One associate was wearing a black lacy corset bra. Another, (manager, I am assuming) had a really low cut plunging neckline top on. Basically, I could see the lower tip of her sternum! I am guessing she wasn't too comfortable in it either, since she was trying to cover her chest with an oversized jacket. I'm not hating at all, if you got it, flaunt it, but as a shoe store associate... very very tacky! C'mon, you could walk into VS across the way, and you wouldn't even see one of their associates dressed in that manner. read more

I have such a love-hate relationship with ALDO as a brand. I've been buying ALDO shoes for almost 10 years, and I've had so many hit and miss experiences. My favorite pair of wedges, of all time, are from ALDO, but I've also purchased countless pairs of extremely uncomfortable (i.e., nearly worthless) shoes from ALDO. For some reason, I keep coming back. Probably because they often have good sales and the styles are very cute. You have to get the shoes on sale; they're simple not worth the full-price prices. As I'm writing this, I'm realizing that, ironically, I think the most uncomfortable shoes I've purchased from ALDO have been flats (read: terrible blisters and bloody heels). I suppose I don't know of an alternative shoe store with similar prices and styles but with more reliably comfortable shoes. Maybe it doesn't exist. With regard to this location specifically, the customer service has been excellent! In sum, hit or miss shoes, cute styles, only worth the on-sale prices, and great customer service. read more

What I like about this place is the shoe are super stylish,and the price tags don't bite. I also want to share how store consultants are highly hostile and helpful. When I liked one pair of boots, there were no pairs of my size. So the Aldo Girl offered me her own pair of boots to try them one ( it happened that she liked the same model and we wore the same size). It doesn't happen quite often with me when people want to make the best and even can share their own possesses. I highly suggest to shop in this particular store, because the assistance level is outstanding !!! read more

Staff was rude and not helpful to customers. I was in the store for almost twenty minutes before I was even acknowledged or asked if I needed any help. When I asked to try on a pair they didn't have my size and wanted me to try on a shoe two sizes to big and see if I liked it and then they said I could just go online and order it. read more

TREATED HORRIBLY If you want to return anything to ALDO- you're in big trouble. Their return policy does not allow you to take anything out of the store. For me, buying ALDO is expensive splurge, and the inability to return is ridiculous. I purchased a pair of boots, on of which is defective/ doesn't match its mate. Since I had work them 1 day- I was unable to return. The ALDO employees were not helpful, and only fake friendly- which is infuriating. Today I was very pleased with the store's customer service by a staff called Emmanuel. I went there with the intention to return an online purchase and complained about my fat legs. Tried on dozens of boots in the store and made a mess by having them all over, bugging Emmanuel to find different styles and sizes and he kept smiling and patiently ran back and forth between store and stocking room to bring me the stuff. I could tell he was super professional with me being an impatient and picky customer. Emmanuel ended up finding me the perfect pair and size of boots I have always wanted and I told his store manager about his awesome performance. I ended up buying it plus a bottle of waterproof spray for the shoes. Keep up the great spirit Emmanuel, you've got lots of potential and customers love coming to the store because of you!! read more

Both associates at the time we're extremely helpful and very friendly. Always smiling! Great attitude. I walked in with my boyfriend who doesn't speak English and while trying on the shoes Erick saw us trying to match the shoes with an outfit and asked us what outfit it was and gave us his opinion and once he realized my boyfriend didn't speak English he immediately started speaking Spanish and at the moment I was so grateful for associates like him. I've been shopping at UTC for few years now. My experience was always good. I just bought a new pair today, i was helped by a young lady named Pegah. She was very polite, patient and very friendly with big smiles. She brought me 3 different pairs of shoes that i might like and patiently waited till i make my decision. She was not pushy and was not trying to sell me the most expensive shoes (like some other places do). I highly recommend that store and if you like to have a great experience ask for her. read more

I love Aldo shoes......I have tried buying shoes from all kinds of stores but always end up with a shoe bite and bleeding foot.....but never again after I discovered Aldo!They also have good offers for both men and womens shoes and also have accessories like sunglasses(got myself a cute Audrey Hepburn winged one),sunglass pouch,ear rings,purses etc.Kelsey from the store was totally sweet and even showed me the pretty pouch that would go perfectly with my sunglasses.Turns out I recognized her from the North county mall location where she used to work previously where she provided excellent service too in the past!Their leather is soft and the styles are cute and comfy and currently they have a 50%sale going on. Unfortunately my sunglasses and accessories were full price with no discount.....would have appreciated atleast some discount considering it was the 50% discount sign that drew me into the store in the first place(yes I love me some good deals).I also thing the UTC location doesn't have as wide a selection as the north county one. read more

This might be the worst shoe store I've ever been to. It's quite obvious that the shoes are overpriced for their poor quality. Yes the shoes are cute in style but end up cutting your feet and are terribly uncomfortable. Not only does the shoes suck, but so does the customer service. This girl was trying to sell me on these shoes I needed for work that had to be comfortable and have a good sole. She pressured me saying " you should just commit" and was way too overbearing. Seemed as though she just wanted the commission money. I wore the shoes around the house and they cut my feet so badly!! When I tried to take them back, they refused. Only to sell me on their "sole grips" and "shoe comforter" products. This place pisses me off and will tell everyone I know not to shop there. read more

Aldo Shoes is a small, boutique-like store in the middle of UTC that sells both men & womens' shoes, handbags, and jewelry. Cute shoes, but way overpriced- I feel like you could get similar shoes at JCPenney or Macy's for much, much cheaper. The usual price for shoes is probably around $70 a pair, which is definitely more than my job-less college budget allows, unfortunately. The jewelry is much more reasonably priced, though- just for comparison, it's probably priced about the same as Charlotte Russe or Wet Seal, and their styles are pretty darn adorable, so I'd suggest checking those out. The shoes, though? Skip 'em- you can definitely find the same thing for much cheaper elsewhere. read more

I was in dire need of new dress shoes when I walked in the store tonight to find shoes. I was greeted as I entered the door but that's where the service stopped. There were 3 employees in the store at the time and they were all standing behind the counter giggling. I was checking out shoes hoping someone would offer assistance. As another customer entered the store the giggling continued I don't even believe he was greeted or acknowledged. After 15 mins of trying to find a style I liked. I decided it wasn't worth making a purchase because of the poor service I received. I made a couple glances at the women to signal I needed help. No one offered to help me or the other gentleman who entered the store. He eventually left after 10 mins. I reached my limited at 15. I can't remember the last time I went into a store and received such poor service. I was too irritated to speak to the manager but my fear is that she was one of the giggling women behind the counter completely ignoring customers. I'll be making a call to the store tomorrow to inform the manager of my experience but I will not be bringing my business back to this location. read more

I can't say I love all shoes at Aldo but this particular location has outstanding service, as with Fashion Valley's location. Every time I walk in they are very helpful and friendly. Once they didn't have my size in stock and so I ordered them to be delivered to my house. The manager (?) was so nice and gave me 15% off because I told him I had a 10% off coupon that I left at home. So sweet!!! A few other times the gals working there would call the Fashion Valley location to reserve certain shoes for me if they had them there and not at their location. Ooh, also I call them when I don't want to drive there to see if they have certain styles and sizes in stock and they quickly and gladly check, put them on hold for me, etc. I really love the service here! read more

I ordered shoes at a store because they didnt have them in my size. When I finally received them, I was surprised to find they were used! You can tell by the sole and the straps were scratched. Did I really just pay $98 for a used pair of shoes?!?! Come on. The next day I returned the shoes at an actual location. The employee did nothing to ease my frustration. Instead he was extremely rude and threw back my debit card at me and said, 'That's what you get.'!!!!!!! Is this how they treat their customers online AND in the store?? Exact same thing happened to me as the last post. Ordered a pair of shoes from another store because they were unavailable at the UTC location. Shoes had clearly been worn many times; creases throughout leather and scuff marks on the soles. When I called the store to complain I didn't even get an apology and was told to bring them into store to exchange. I don't find it fair to the consumer to have to make an extra trip to the mall due to incompetent employee's who cannot inspect shoes before they package and send them. I thought an apology would have been the least that the store manager could have offered me but have learned never to expect anything from this store but terrible customer service. i went to this aldo location because i was at the fashion valley location, where i found a shoe i really liked but the store didn't have my size and i was directed to this location which did have the size i was looking for. so off i drove to a mall even farther away from where i live to try on the shoe only to find that the shoe didn't flatter my feet (if that makes sense). i was utterly disappointed, but still had to get a shoe for my friend's wedding. at the time i was there, i was being helped by two sales associates to find my ideal shoe: on sale, nude, formal enough for a wedding, but something i could wear countless times thereafter. one sales associate was pulling shoes from the back for me to try on while the other was making suggestions. i must have tried on 6-7 pairs of shoes and i was feeling very high maintenance (which i don't think i am) and both sales associates were patient with me, remained friendly, and continued to make really good shoe suggestions. i highly recommend this location. read more
