The same experience as the other poor reviews, I suggest that you contact the DMV office of complaints, and compliance, in Van Nuys a division of the DMV for complaints against dealers. its on Sherman Way, ask an investigator if this dealership has any complaints against them? Had any fines levied on them for non compliance? After you have done your due diligence, then make your decision if you want to purchase a vehicle from them. Bought a 2010 mini Cooper a couple years ago from them and it has been nothing but a headache and a money pit. Since they are also mechanics the only way you can get them to fix anything is to pay them to do it. A complete racket. After 2 years of mechanics, tow trucks, and thousands of dollars in repairs the lemon is completely dead. I paid over 10K for it and have sunk more than 8K into repairs. I have had the worst car buying experience one could imagine with this sales group. I purchased a car back in January and after about 3 weeks with the car and getting back on my feet and offer came up that I could not refuse to sell the car and get something newer with CarMax. Now I had not received the title but figured hey, the car should be in my name since I paid for it and was told that they would be filing the paperwork the same day of my purchase, however, when I went to CarMax, I found out it was still in the dealership's name. No worries. So I called to inquire how long the process would take since CarMax told me they were going to put the car on hold for me and was told by the representative "Oh, my son was supposed to call you. Something is wrong with the title." Confused because if something was wrong, you're right, I should have gotten a call, I asked when I should hear from his son and he told me the following morning. A week went by and I heard nothing. I called and was told that the car basically was bought at an auction from a dealership that went bankrupt for not being able to produce car titles. I was told that I should hear back in a few weeks. Months went by and nothing. I was asked to come in-person three times to meet to discuss this matter and each time, the only update I received was that they did not have an update. Then I was told they were in arbitration with the auction and should no resolve come between them, I could come again and swap the car for any car on their lot at a similar price to the car I bought. Not only did I continue to reach out and did not get a response, but I would send links to cars from their inventory on their website and would not get a reply. Finally, I saw a car I was really interested in and was told it was unavailable. Three weeks later I was asked to come in in-person (this was my third visit in-person by the way since buying the car) and there was a guy there buying the car I had inquired about. I asked the guy did he have the car reserved for the past 3 weeks to which he said no he had just called about it a few days prior and came in today to make the purchase. Wow! How was it unavailable to me but available for him? Interesting. It was then I realized the conversation on swapping cars was not a reality and it was not really mentioned again. Finally I was told they have the car title. Not only that, I was even asked my preference on picking it up. I asked for it to be mailed (I mean three times driving from Compton to the valley and no update. You expect for me to drive up there again!? I think not). To this day, I still do not have the title. I can not sell the car. I missed out on getting a newer car and am stuck with a car that I do not have any paperwork on verifying I own it. This has been the worst car buying experience I have EVER had! I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The car not having the title I can say seemed to be a problem that was out of their hands, so I can not fully fault them on that. But the follow through, my GOD, YES, I can fault them on it 100%. I bought an Audi A4 from this guys. It had a low oil pressure light and they said it's fine they just had fixed it and for some reason I believed it and drove it liked that and after a month the car started giving me issues so I took it in to a shop and they said that looks like the engine had been worked on before, but whoever did it did not do a good job and also just bypassed the oil pressure sensor. If I'm not mistaken that's illegal. I would like them to be responsible and fix it. Since I payed 11k for this car. read more

I called the Alan's Auto Care on Saturday 2/10 at 2pm, inquiring about two Pre-Owned Mercedes Benz, and he assured me the two cars are still available, I told him I will be leaving Orange County toward his auto shop, he said okay I will be waiting for you, after two hours and forty minutes driving, when I arrived asking about the two cars that I want to see, he lied and told me these cars are in service, and want to sell me another car; when I told him that I drove for almost three hours, he became very rude and impolite leaving me on his lot and did not even apologize for being dishonest and liar. these guys seem like they care about you but all they care about is money I have bought 3 cars from these guys an all three have had issues within the first week to a month. they are not honest people and do not provide proper paperwork or proof of what they supposed fixed! i still owe $10k on a car that I can't even drive and it's only been a year and a half since I bought it from him and not to mention the 2 year warranty that I bought is a total scam as well. I have always been on time with oil changes and maintenance so this should not be happening. also they supposedly replaced the engine in my car after it broke down the first week but the Hyundai dealer that has looked at it says it's the original engine. do not do business with these people read more

Excellent service, cool guys. We accidentally drove over some dirty nylon cord and it got wrapped around our axle about a million times and was making an insane noise. Luckily, Alen's was nearby and Arlen and one of the most badass guys I've ever met helped us out. My man got under the car and cut that dirty cord out of there for about a half hour in the LA heat. I purchased a 2008 Ford Escape from this location in December. Unfortunately I did not expect much from the vehicle and assumed that this car (that we normally go for about $3000) was being sold for $9000 due to inflation. I attempted to negotiate with them on a reduced price but they did not budge. One week after I purchased the car, the yellow wrench (check engine light) appeared. This cost me $1900 in repairs for a faulty hybrid battery cooling fan. Just today, another check engine light came on which will likely cost me another $1500 in repairs. They sell LEMONS. I went with a friend to buy my first car at this place. Sadly I feel completely taken advantage of especially cause we were 2 young women. The rubber on my doors is coming off and it was previously glued with something cheap that is melting now. My screen for Bluetooth was messed up. The check engine light came on immediately after purchase. Not to mention he incorporated the registration into the price of the car and never actually did that. These are all things that could have been handled prior to purchase rather then trying to charge me after I bought it when the price of the car was already over value to begin with. I have two stories so please read till the end. So I bought a used vehicle from Alan's auto repair. I am happy with my car, but at the time of purchase something went wrong with the smog check and I had to bring it back in(in order to receive my registration in the mail it had to pass smog) to have the issue dealt with. After a couple days the check engine light went on. It was an issue with my fuel cap. Nothing wrong with it, just a bad sensor. When sold the car it had warped rotors and the brakes went bad quick because of it. Took it back and he fixed it free of charge(just outside of warranty) I was happy and this built rapport between him and I so i was happy to bring my roommate in to purchase his first car ever. This is the negative part of the review. So my roommate just bought a nissan Altima from Alan's about three months ago. His registration never came in the mail (due to smog issues) and it had some issues with the motor mount. It was taken back under warranty with alan's auto care. They fixed the motor mount and said everything is good now. Just a couple weeks after the radiator on the Altima was dripping fluid and progressively got worse. My roommate had to repair the radiator elsewhere because north Hollywood is over 50 miles from our home. Radiator is fixed and car is working well now.All fine and dandy until I received a text today with conversation between my roommate and the co-owner of alan's auto repair, Art. After leaving a couple voicemails, My roommate texted him. "Hi art, I am waiting for you to give me a call back. I am not happy with the way you sold me this car being a mechanic. I will be coming in this weekend to get my registration and smoking check." To which Art replied in four separate text messages back to back within a minute. "What exactly are you not happy about?" "Wait before you reply." "I don't GIVE A FUCK." "Now tell me what is wrong with your car." So all in all my car buying and repair went a little rocky at the start, but was over all satisfied. However the fact that I referred a friend to them and this is the way they treat him is just sad. I've lost the small amount of trust i had for Alan's auto care and i'lI never personally recommend anyone to them after seeing how they treated my roommate. I was looking for an auto shop open on Sundays, (because it's nearly impossible sometimes), and low and behold i found Alen. The hours said open until 4pm. I called him around 1:30pm and he said he was going to close early today cuz of some things he needed to take care of. I told him today was the only day i had to fix my car before my work week, and i didn't want to take it to pep boys or any of those corporate places that overcharges everything. He told me to bring it in real quick, so I did. He saw that the motor mount needed replacing and though he said he was closing early, he decided to do it for me anyway. Very nice of him to still work on my car when you're about to close. After 2-3 hours it was replaced, for a reasonable price too, and he said I shouldn't have anymore problems. However on my drive home the same problem started coming back (a real loud throttle noise that would come when drive 60+mph). So obviously the problem wasn't fixed. I called Alen the next day because he was closed by the time I left, and he said to bring it back in when I was free. I brought it back in today called him around mid afternoon around 1 again and asked if I could bring it in. He said he was real busy and asked if i could bring it another day. Again however it was my only day off during the week and i needed it fixed asap before i drive to work the next few days. I told him this and he told me to bring it in. We went for a test drive so he can hear the problem that was still there. He lifted the car and ran some tests. After about an hour or 2 Alen came back and said it was all fixed. I expected him to charge me something extra, like most mechanics would, but he didn't!! He kept to his word the first time when he fixed the motor mount and said that should fix the problem, and since it didn't, he spent another few hours on my car free of charge until the problem was fixed. He told me to drive off and if it's ok, just to call him and let him know. Didn't ask for anything. From this experience I can see that Alen is a trustworthy mechanic. I went in for a brake job and he told me I didn't brakes that my brakes are still good but he said your motor mounts are broken and he was right because there was this weird vibrating every time I would take off from a stop, he changed my motor mounts for a fair price (I shopped around with a few mechanics) and my car runs so much smoother.
