    Lemon fish
    Stacy L.

There weren't many people today, even though everyone told me this place is usually packed. We ordered the lemon fish and the less‑spicy beef. The beef was delicious, and the mala really lingers--it's that addictive kind of heat where you want to stop but keep going anyway. The spiciness stays on your lips and tongue before it finally fades, but it's intense. The fish was very fresh, and the lemon flavor made it a surprisingly interesting combination. Service was excellent and they kept refilling our water since I was drinking so much, and they even refilled our rice. There's plenty of smaller tables and few tables for big parties. Very aesthetic and clean restaurant.

Saw a new place opened up in Arcadia and I had to try it! I've been seeing suancai fish restaurants pop up and I've always been curious - I'm glad I gave it a try because it is soo good. It wad pretty empty on Saturday at 11:30am but it got busier around 12pm. I had no idea what to order but the employee was really nice and gave me a few recommendations. She told me to pick a soup flavor, then a fish type, then 2 toppings for the soup. I decided to get the traditional laotan suancai soup and I chose the basa fish fillet and vermicelli and evoki mushroom to add in my soup. It came with a bowl of rice. I also added a side of crispy pork and coconut lava balls for dessert. I didnt really know what to expect but I was really impressed with the flavor of the soup. Its hard to describe but the soup was tangy, refreshing, and had a spicy kick to it. It pairs perfect with a hot bowl of rice. The crispy pork was also very good, flavorful. I also really enjoyed the coconut lava balls - they were the perfect sweet treat after all the savory items. Portions are generous and the employee helped me pack up my leftovers. I would say that the price is pretty good for the amount of food you get! Will definitely be back to try more souppppp!

We stopped in for dinner the other evening. There is ample parking available. The restaurant is charming and has a relaxing quality to it. We started with a cucumber salad. Light and refreshing and a perfect way to offset the rich and tasty fish pot. We also got a sausage skewer and beef skewers. Both were great but the beef skewers were the best. Crisp and fatty like pork belly but beef. We got the Golden soup and the coconut curry. Both were so delicious and rich. The golden soup had some numbing-spice to it so it might not be for everyone. The fish was so good. Light and absorbs the soup quite nicely. The coconut curry had a nice rich coconut flavor to it. Both wo7ld ne recommended soup flavors. For dessert we got the coconut lava balls. Sesame ball like but filled with creamy coconut. The sweet potato balls qirh taro were our favorite. Light and not overly sweet with a donut hole consistency. Great service and wonderful, filling food will make this a great place for you.

New spot in Arcadia serving suan cai fish. It's very similar to the Fish With You chain, but this location goes by Yonny. From what I could tell, the menu and most of the items are basically the same. I ordered takeout the other night and overall the food tasted pretty good. I got the Green Peppercorn Fish and really enjoyed it. The broth had great flavor with just the right amount of numbing spice, and it definitely satisfied my craving. One thing that disappointed me though was the toppings. I paid extra for several add-ons, but when I picked up my order the portion looked exactly the same. It almost felt like they took out some of the standard ingredients to make room for the paid toppings instead of actually adding more. I was expecting the extras to come on the side or at least make the bowl noticeably bigger. I also ordered the grilled squid, which was just okay, and the crispy small fish. Unfortunately, the small fish was super salty and by the time I got it home it had become pretty soggy from the way it was packed. One thing I do like is that they're open later than most restaurants in the Arcadia area, which is definitely a plus. Overall, I really enjoyed the Green Peppercorn Fish and would definitely order it again. The main dish was flavorful and lived up to my expectations. My only complaints were the paid toppings not really feeling like extras and the disappointing side dishes. I think this is one of those places that's much better to eat at than order takeout. I'll definitely be back to give it another shot dining in.

PRO: - They're open later than most restaurants - crispy pork appetizer was yummy CON: - grilled squid was meh, I think YGF makes a better one - golden beef soup was ok, nothing special Overall: - good for late night munchies or late meal if you're feeling Asian food

It's my first time trying suan cai fish and I was pleasantly surprised! I placed a phone order and the server was very friendly and helpful. I opted for the signature hot oil one and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were so tangy and additive. I was afraid that it would be too spicy, but it was actually the perfect amount of spice for me! I was definitely sweating by the end of the meal LOL, but it was worth it! I would love to come back and try their other dishes.

Walked in and was greeted, it was quite empty as i went around 3:00 pm on a weekday. Sat down and menu and water was served right away. Beef skewers - eat it while it's hot! Theres fat that OSS on the skewers and pairs well when eaten hot. I waited and the fat hardened so the taste wasn't as good for me. Coming back for this though! Spicy Clam - cold dish! It's refreshing! The fish bowls can get repetitive and this dish helped the taste to not be so repetitive. A nice appetizer to have! Linyi-Style Stir-Fried chicken - there's a kick to the chicken when you first bite into it! Very flavorful! The chicken was also very juicy! Traditional Laotan Suancai Fish - spicy but not too spicy! It has a sour and spice flavor for this one. I like the snakehead fish in this bowl more than the others. Generous portions! Added quail egg as well and it was also very generous! Priced tomato soup- only non spicy one, so tried it out. Lots of tomato pieces and fish were big chunks! Different from their original snakehead fish! This fish was thicker and not as crunchy as their traditional bowls. If you'd want to upgrade it to the snakehead fish, there would be an extra charge. Coconut curry fish - more coconut flavor than i expected. Flavor was nicely combined all together. It had a kick to it in the end. Brown sugar rice cake - so soft and delicious! Id come back for this alone if i want a sweet treat! Parking - it's a bit lot so you'll have lots of parking! Staffs- all very nice and attentive!

Yonny at Arcadia was recommended by a friend so I decided to try it out for the first time (they opened a location in RH as well). No regrets at all because it was delicious! I ordered the Spicy pot with Fish, which came with choice of two complimentary add on items (I selected Napa and Tofu). I also ordered additional add on items for a small amount (Fish Tofu). The total for my pot was about $18, which was VERY reasonable because it was pretty big portions (I got a Small pot, and a Large is about $5 more). There's drinks like bottled tea and bottles of beer available. Awesome that they serve alcohol! Service was REALLY good. The staff explained how the ordering works and made good recommendations. I was actually quite impressed with my waitress because I embarrassing dropped my chopsticks twice but she quickly got me replacements TWICE automatically without me even requesting for it. She was THAT attentive! I really enjoyed my meal at Yonny in Arcadia and I will definitely be coming back soon!

I first found out about Yonny through a foodie's Instagram video and I'm so glad I came across it! Decided to give this place a try tonight and it completely exceeded expectations. For three people, we ordered three soups and two side dishes. You get one free bowl of rice per regular sized soup, which was a nice bonus. We got the traditional laotan suancai fish, green peppercorn suancai fish, and golden soup beef slices. For sides, we ordered the fried taro balls and fried salt and pepper fish. Everything was exactly what we hoped for but honestly, even better!!! Each soup had its own distinct flavor profile, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. My personal favorite was the green peppercorn suancai fish because of the slightly numbing, floral flavor. Every soup was packed with flavor though, and it was genuinely hard to choose a favorite because they were all so delicious! You really can't go wrong with any of the three soups we ordered. This place has officially become one of my top comfort food spots and I can already tell I'll be coming back all the time! Maybe even once a week!

I was in the area and had to check this place out. This is the place to go if you need a break from ramen and pho. The broth is pretty tasty and the fish is delish! I got the coconut curry broth and a couple sides which were all really good. The coconut lava balls are really gooey so watch out for that gushy madness.

Clean, fast food style, servers are attentive, I didn't expect her to pour water for me. I order peppercorn steelhead fish. I love spicy food so the spiciness is not too hot. I could mix the soup with rice. Soup base was delicious.

Super Angus Beef, Signature Suan Cai Fish, Garlic Seaweed Salad
    Julie V.

Tried Yonny, which recently opened in Arcadia! The restaurant is also known as Fish With You and has locations around the world. They specialize in authentic Chinese comfort food and are best known for their Sichuan-style fish pots and flavorful spicy broths. We ordered the signature suan cai fish, super angus beef, and garlic seaweed salad. The standout for me was the signature suan cai fish. The broth was flavorful - tangy, savory, and packed with just the right amount of spice. Every spoonful was comforting. The fish was tender and cooked perfectly, absorbing all the flavors of the soup. The portions were generous, making it a great value for the price. If you're a fan of fish soups or Sichuan flavors, this spot is worth checking out!

    Kelly W.

First time trying and loved it! The fish soup is very flavorful and they give plenty of fish and veggies as well as your add ons. They also give a side of rice. The giant squid was tender and had a good kick. The small size portion was good enough for two people. I am already planning my next trip here!

The filling seemed to be only pork, no veggies, which would have been nice if there was more flavor from vegetables. The sauce was mildly spicy and mildly numbing, slight sesame flavor. String beans 8/10: wok hei flavor and savory. Could have had more garlic flavor and crispier texture of the beans. Din tai fung beans are still #1 for me! Mini lamb skewer 7/10: strong cumin flavor which I liked. The lamb was a bit dry/lean, could've used some pieces with more fat Boiled fish in pickled vegetable 8/10: fish cooked well, flaky and soft. Sour soup was balanced. Vermicelli inside Fried rice 9/10: yummy wok hei flavor Not included in Dine LA deal: Shredded potato 7.5/10: good texture of the potato, not overcooked or undercooked. We ordered the sour/vinegar flavor, it came out smelling vinegary, but didn't have much vinegar taste, mostly spicy. Definitely Sichuan style leaning Sweet potato taro ball dessert 10/10: free dessert if you follow them on Instagram and DM them (see menu photo I posted). Crispy outside which stayed crispy even as it cooled down. Sweet potato and taro were cooked well, smooth, and strong in flavor, not artificial. Not too sweet. Had a mochi like texture Overall a great deal, generous portions. Definitely could feed 3-4 people for the Dine LA. Free parking structure behind. Would definitely come back for Dine LA if they offer new dishes on the deal!

For the first three dishes, we clarified with the owner to make this vegetarian (also vegan), which she was able to do very easily and without question. We communicated with her in Chinese, but she also spoke English to us, when we discovered that our Chinese was likely not as fluent as native speakers. Everything was flavorful, without relying on just an overwhelming amount of salt, and we really enjoyed the green beans that seemed to be cooked in fermented bean paste. I found the eggplants particularly tasty too! The service: This small store had so much business, so we did spend some time waiting before we could actually order our meal. The restaurant itself was filled with folks dining in, and there were multiple parties waiting for take out. Even so, once we did order our meal, it didn't take too long for all four dishes to come out. For these reasons, I can't say service was particularly attentive, but they were still polite and I felt like they did try to make it a good experience for us, even if it was so busy. When we try a new place, we never want to order a ton of food in case it's bad. Luckily, that was not the case this time. We got the pork potstickers. The potstickers are decent, but something in their soy sauce or chili oil is oddly sweet and off putting. Not having a decent dipping sauce is certainly going to be a problem going forward. Do I bring my own already mixed? For mains we got their Chong Qing chicken. We usually ask for this extra spicy, but we decided to get it as is and see how spicy they normally make it. Will definitely have to ask for it to be way spicier next time. However, the taste was quite good in my opinion. One of my cohorts felt it was sweet, but the rest of us didn't notice or at least mind any sweetness. We also got the Farmer's Pork, which was excellent. This place had cleaned all their pork belly so it was incredibly lean, and I was there for it. Absolutely appreciated this, as I want to eat meat, not fat. I strongly recommend both of these entrees. I look forward to going back again to try more dishes, but I'm gonna need a solution to the potsticker dipping sauce problem. I hope the sweetness wasn't in the potstickers themselves. That would be bizarre. Anyway, I do recommend trying this place. Also notice some other reviewer went off on the XLB not saying they have peanuts in them. The menu specifically states (unless it was reprinted in the last two months) the XLB have peanuts in them. Give this place a shot. It may not be the absolute best in the SGV, but from what we tried it seems pretty darn decent. Go!

Spontaneous Stop, Surprisingly Good Beef Noodle Soup!…read more We literally came here spontaneously after trying 626 Ice Cream right next door because apparently vacation mode means eating our way through the neighborhood. No plans, just vibes... and apparently beef noodle soup. Parking: Plenty of spots! Service: Quick, friendly, and efficient. Ambience: Definitely more of a quick sit-and-eat kind of vibe--not somewhere you're hanging out for hours. Braised Beef Noodle Soup -- 8/10 | $15.99 Okay, THIS was the winner! The noodles are handmade, and you can actually see the guy in the back making them. And you can taste the difference! The noodles had that perfect chewy, bouncy texture and tasted incredibly fresh. The braised beef was soft, tender, and nicely seasoned. Add in the little side of Sichuan numbing oil, and that took each bite up another notch. Honestly, we've tried quite a few beef noodle spots, and these noodles were better than some of the others we've had. That fresh handmade texture really made the bowl for me. Trio Cold Dish Combination -- 6.510 | $13.99 You get to choose three, so naturally I had to sample the whole lineup. Bean Curd + Celery -- 6/10 It was okay, but definitely not something I'd order again. Nothing wrong with it, just not memorable. Hot & Sour Sliced Kelp -- 7/10 This one was actually decent! It had more of that seaweed-like texture, with a nice tangy flavor. Not bad, just not something I was craving for seconds. Cucumber -- 6.8/10 Super fresh with a nice crunch, but nothing too special. Sometimes cucumber is just... cucumber. Beef Roll Pancake -- 7.5/10 | $10.99 Now this one surprised me! It's definitely smaller than the typical beef roll you'd get at 101 Noodle Express, but maybe that's why the price is a little lower. Size aside, the pancake itself was fluffy with the perfect crispiness, and the beef was nicely seasoned. It was actually a really enjoyable little bite! Overall, we came in with absolutely no expectations and ended up finding a pretty solid little spot. Sometimes those spontaneous vacation-mode stops are the ones that surprise you! If you're craving beef noodle soup with fresh, handmade noodles, I'd definitely give this place a try. The noodle soup was the standout for me! Happy Eats!
