One of the best sushi spots in Arcadia! Seating is limited, expect a wait, especially on weekends. Parking is limited in the lot, but there's ample residential street parking. You can't go wrong with any items here, we especially love: Chirashi - love the mix of fish and the well seasoned rice. It's become my new fav chirashi spots Nigiri - if I'm not doing a chirashi, I'm either going with nigiri or a sushi set Sushi set - if you can't decide, go with this or the chirashi bowl - both comes with miso soup and side dishes (so bomb)

A couple of my friends mentioned how good this spot is & I had to take my mom for Mother's Day to try for ourselves since she loves sushi. The small lot has crowded parking, but there's street parking and I was very lucky. It's a small mom & pops place, which usually is a great sign for sushi. Because seating is quite limited, reservations for omakase (really good value) at the bar is recommended & definitely get on the Yelp waitlist as soon as you're within 2 miles or you will be in for a wait. The staff here is knowledgeable about the menu so don't be shy about asking for their specials. We waited 15-20 min, but I will say the food is so worth it. Must tries, crispy bites, king crab chawanmushi, black cod handrolls, the bluefin burrata. Everything tasted excellent, which is rare. Even the ice cream made in house was phenomenal & I'd go back just for that.

I've passed by Akami Sushi over a thousand times but never wanted to try because of the outdated exterior located within a small plaza that's shared with a sus looking massage parlor. However, I was told they remodeled so I decided to try. Definitely the best decision ever because my favorite Otoro was so fresh and the Wagyu sashimi was just perfect! Prices are reasonable and the service was excellent. It was a 9/10 - highly recommended!

I've come here twice now and am glad to have found this restaurant. The fish quality is great and the price is reasonable. The parking lot is tiny, but there's street parking in the residential area. The restaurant is small with some tables and bar seating. The staff are attentive and and service was pretty quick. I've tried the omakase and I definitely recommend it. There's a $125 and $175 option for omakase, with the difference being the number of pieces. My group wasn't super hungry so we picked the $125 and we were very full at the end. I also got the matcha lychee highball. It's easy to drink and you don't notice the alcohol. I came a second time to order from the menu. The omakase had a small bowl of their mentaiko mazemen that was so good, we came back to order the entree. I also tried the chirashi. All the fish is seasoned so you don't need soy sauce. The rice is also seasoned. The fish was fresh and the portion size is pretty big. Also tried their scallop carpaccio which was very buttery smooth. The matcha creme brulee was a miss for me. It's very strong in matcha flavor (which I like), but the consistency was too soft. I think when they caramelized the sugar, the custard heated up too much so it was more runny than thick. Definitely coming again to explore more of the menu.

Came on a weekday at noon. Right at 12 the every seat in the restaurant was filled, and there's a reason why! I came for the lunch special specifically the sushi & sashimi plate. I'm a big fan of variety and this lunch special really hit the spot! The fish is fresh & there's not too much rice in each bite. The sides are also a big plus too. Overall, having lunch here did not disappoint!!

For 2, we ordered sushi deluxe, mentaiko pasta, mixed tempura, akami don set, and salmom handroll. My favorite would be the sushi deluxe's chutoro. It was soft and melted in my mouth. They let you choose between tuna or negitoro for the sushi roll in the sushi deluxe but negitoro is an additional $3 The mentaiko pasta tasted like the sea. Although im not a fan of uni or roe it was good. Akami don set came with yellow tail sashimi and after you finish the fish, yoh can tell them and they will add soup in it for you to finish off the rice. I wished they gave more seaweed to make a baby handroll for the akami don though. The tempera was light and crispy but it was hard to eat the enoki because it was 1 big piece. I also like soy paper now so i tried the soy paper handroll with salmon. It was good but eel is probably better for soy paper rolls. Service here was really good. They explained why the bar was blocking off the view as akami opened during covid time so they had to block the view from customers and chef. It would be too expensive to change so maybe in the far future they will be able to. Parking is very small but you can either park in the back or on the streets.

cozy spot, expect wait on weekends got the sushi deluxe set ($43) and quality was soo good with sides and so filling. really good spot, def want to come back for the omakase

Various sushi as recommended including king salmon, blue fin tuna, halibut fin and A5 wagyu.

Best sushi I have had in a while. The staff was great and very knowledgeable with recommendations. We tried a few things that I can't even remember, but they were all great. Some of our favorites were the king salmon sushi, blue fin tuna sushi, halibut fin sushi and A5 wagyu sushi. Inside has the layout similar to the former Mako Sushi just more modern.

My friend heard great things about this place so we came here for Tuesday night dinner. I didn't know how the Yelp waitlist worked but they have a little sign out front explaining it. Basically you join the waitlist then check in with the host and that's how you get on. It was deceiving just looking at the Yelp because it always showed a 0 minute wait time. It probably took us an hour to get seated which was crazy. It is a small interior so it was a given we'd wait. Takoyaki (3/5): Standard takoyaki. Not much octopus. Soft shell crab (4/5): This was free because we waited so long. It was good. Nice fry on it. Not oily. Mentaiko mazemen (4/5): This had temomi noodles which are thick and chewy wheat noodles. It was topped with a cod roe sauce, white truffle oil and ikura. It was a good noodle dish. It wasn't too salty and the sauce was creamy. Portion was small. Rainbow roll (5/5): The assorted fish tasted fresh. It was a good sized roll. Sushi set premium (5/5): This set was perfect. It came with a few sides, a bowl of rice, and a good assortment of sashimi. There was yellow tail, salmon, toro, tuna, snapper?, egg, and cooked salmon. The little seaweed salad was good too. Overall, a great dinner spot for sushi. I'll probably come back and join the online waitlist faster. You can't make a reservation for regular seating, only omakase.

Found this place recently, and have been back 3 times so far. Not only is the food good, the service is also exceptional! The service is fast paced and the servers tend to you really quickly. The restaurant also gives a very Japanese vibe, with bars and tables options. I would say the most notable nigiri here is their engawa (halibut fin). It's generous and fragrant. Another notable dish is the mentaiko pasta. As someone who does not like mentaiko, I vouch that this is really good! Another thing to add is that they carry different variety of fishes that I have never seen in other restaurants before. One thing I have to mention is that the restaurant is a bit small, and while street parking is an option, parking can still be challenging especially during dinner time.

Sushi deluxe set. So fresh, so good.

We celebrated my friend's birthday here and everything was amazing. The modern minimalistic decor was the first thing that caught my eye. The left side of the restaurant had tables and the right side was the sushi bar. It felt cozy, but not crowded. Service was good and the food was exquisite. We ordered the toro uni caviar crispy bite to share and oh my gah, it was pristine. The uni tasted so fresh, straight from the sea. The toro was melt in your mouth and the caviar added the perfect amount of saltiness. We each got the sushi deluxe set and were able to try 11 different types of nigiri, a toro roll, and tamago. All the sushi tasted fresh and the rice was perfectly tempered. We also added the white dragon roll. I don't usually like soy paper wraps but this one was really good. It was seasoned well and umami-rich. I would order it again. The chili mango cocktail was the best! You can barely taste the alcohol. I could drink 5 of those! I will definitely be back with the hubby for date night.

The fish was reasonably priced and decent. I like the clean interior, and their service ware was beautiful. We came here for lunch to celebrate my bday. The place started filling up closer to 1pm. The cocktails were pretty good, and I love how the glasses that they served our large beer with. I would return if I'm in the hood.

We came to this place for lunch at around 12pm and were lucky to sit right away. We ordered several things Mentaiko mazemen 4/5. I extremely love the sauce, buttery and eggy. However, the noodles are a little hard, not at al dente level to me. I still recommend this dish a lot though Kaisen don 4/5. I don't recommend pouring in the soup as instructed. I liked to eat it dry as it was. The fish was fresh. Lots of unami flavor with the egg yolk added. I wish they gave me more seaweed though. There were only 2 pieces. Premium sushi set 5/5 were so big. All the fishes were fresh. The little citrusy, gingery add on to the top makes the sushi tastes distinctively unique and refreshing, balancing between ocean and land. Overall I wish they give me bigger glasses of water I need more water refills. My friend and I were finishing the water constantly. Service otherwise was good. I would come back.

The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was eating my food in this establishment several months ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is decent. During peak business hours, you might struggle to find parking, so come early! Each parking spot is a decent size. Not too wide nor too narrow. Food: I ordered the Tokyo tonkotsu shouyu ramen with white garlic and fresh passion fruit tea with rainbow jelly with 25% ice and 25% sweetness. I like that we can customize the sweetness and ice level. Although my drink was supposed to be 25% sweet, it still felt a bit too sweet to me TBH. Thankfully, I just mixed it with water to dilute it. The rainbow jellies were super soft and flavorful. People who know me know that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ramen. I'm a ramen aficionado. Lol The Tokyo tonkotsu shouyu ramen with white garlic ramen contains their signature pork-broth bowl featuring chashu pork, bamboo shoots, wakame, half a marinated egg, nori, corn, and scallion. The thinly sliced chashu pork was tender and juicy. The soft-boiled egg was marinated in a sweet and salty soy-based sauce. Loved the perfectly jammy yolks and deep umami flavor. The bamboo shoots, wakame, nori, corn, and scallion all enhanced the flavor of this dish. The shining star of this dish was obviously the broth. This dish contains a rich and creamy pork bone broth seasoned with umami-packed soy sauce. The white garlic adds a signature sweet, pungent, and toasty aroma that perfectly cuts through the heavy fat of the broth. The ramen was cooked perfectly al dente. Would definitely order this again. Staff: The staff here are very attentive, friendly, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

This restaurant is located in a small plaza but parking is plenty and the wait is not long for a Saturday afternoon. There is a boba place inside but the drinks doesn't look that great so we didn't order any. The staffs are very nice and the setup inside is pretty unique. We didn't get to sit inside one of the Hexagon pods or the lantern cage table but its ok. The ramen is actually pretty good. The broth has a deep flavor to it and the ramen itself is not bad. It is not spectacular but I would say slightly above average. We ordered Combo B so it came with a lot of extra stuff. The ramen though cannot be exchanged so I got the Sapporo Miso Ramen while my wife got the Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen. We also ordered the Yakitori Platter. While the Ramen are decent, the other dishes are subpar. I am 99% sure the Yakitori was pre-made and just reheated. It has no char flavor at all. I believe some off site kitchen prepped the food and the restaurant just reheated the food. That was the most disappointing part of the meal. The cost of the Yakitori was equivalent to actual Yakitori places so I expected decent quality Yakitori. I think the popcorn chicken is the same. It has no crunch to it at all and it is barely warm. The two desserts are decent. Those can be prepare ahead and won't affect the flavor since they are served chilled. After the meal, one of the bowls actually won a free drink so we'll claim it when we return next time. Overall the meal was decent. I just won't order the appetizers next time. Normally I would just give a 3 star since the Yakitori was a bust but the staffs are very nice so I kept it at 4 stars. The place is also very clean too so I would like to repeat to try other dishes.

There was one cut I did not particularly care for. *7/10 chicken wings *10/10 Beef tongue-- Tender, but firm. Delicious, a must try! *10/10 Ankimo-- creamy and paired well with the ponzu and fresh seaweed *10/10 Fried Seabass-- they served the entire fish, which is rare. *10/10 Sous-vide Duck breast-- must try! *10/10 Nikomi stew--simple, but delicious! *10/10 Matcha Oolong Panna Cotta-- subtly sweet with a smooth texture. It was so good, that we ordered two! The only reason that I only gave it a four out of five stars is because the service was slow. All of our dishes, came out in time, but no drink refills were given and the server never came back to collect our check for payment. So we had to walk it up to them ourselves. For a small space, with three servers, it shouldn't be hard to attend to all the customers. The menu can be pricey, but food is delicious! Along with exceptional service, eating here is worth it.

We started with the Sushi Combo 2 ($50), which included ten pieces of premium sushi: - Hotate (Scallop) - Halibut - Madai - Uni - Blue Crab - Bluefin Tuna - Salmon Belly - Yellowtail Belly - Albacore - Amberjack Every piece looked beautiful on the plate, and the fish tasted incredibly fresh. The variety made it fun because each bite offered something a little different, from rich and buttery to light and delicate. One thing that immediately stood out was the presentation. The plating was exceptional, and every dish looked like it belonged in a food magazine. They were almost too pretty to eat... almost. My daughter insisted we order two Salmon Carpaccios ($23 each) because it's her absolute favorite. I can't really argue with that decision. The lightly seared salmon practically melts in your mouth, and the ponzu-based seasoning adds just enough brightness without overpowering the fish. We polished off both plates in no time. My personal favorite was the Amberjack Carpaccio ($25). If I had to pick one dish from the entire meal, this would be it. The amberjack was buttery, delicate, and refreshing, with a light citrusy dressing and fresh microgreens that complemented the fish instead of masking it. We also ordered the Seared Mackerel Battera ($20). I'm usually a fan of mackerel, and this didn't disappoint. The lightly seared top added a subtle smoky aroma, while the shiso leaf, bonito flakes, and chopped ginger balanced the richness beautifully. To finish dinner, my daughter picked out a macaron ($5) because apparently dessert is mandatory after sushi. And yes... I also ordered my usual cup of hot green tea. If you've been following my reviews, you've probably noticed by now that I order hot tea almost everywhere. It's become part of the ritual. Mikomi has a clean, modern Japanese aesthetic without feeling overly formal. The warm lighting, wood finishes, and comfortable seating create a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for slowing down and enjoying a meal. Even though the restaurant was busy, it never felt loud or chaotic. Quality sushi certainly isn't inexpensive, but when the ingredients are this fresh and consistently prepared, it's money well spent. Price Breakdown Sushi Combo 2 - $50.00 Salmon Carpaccio ×2 - $23.00 each Amberjack Carpaccio - $25.00 Seared Mackerel Battera - $20.00 Macaron - $5.00 Hot Green Tea Total (including tax & 20% tip): Approximately $200 If you're looking for beautifully presented sushi made with fresh, high-quality fish in a relaxed atmosphere, Mikomi is definitely worth a visit. And to my daughter... thanks for finding this one. I think you've earned the right to pick our next sushi adventure too.

The food came out fast (we waited less than 2 minutes), and everything arrived in a steady, well-paced flow rather than all at once. The food itself was fantastic, fresh, flavorful, and we cleaned our plates. Great prices too. But honestly, the service was the best part: they noticed we had kids with us and anticipated everything we'd need, like kid-friendly utensils, without us even having to ask. That kind of attention to detail made the whole experience so much easier. My kids loves the robot! Thank you, Susie and everyone! we'll definitely be back!

We love that they do weekend lunch special, and we specifically come for that. The sushi lunch combo always includes generous, thick slices of fresh fish and a good variety. This last time, we even got a huge scallop nigiri in our combos! We also ordered a roll and an order of takoyaki to share this time around, and both hit the spot. Interior is classy, clean, and comfortable. Service can be a little slow depending on how busy it is (on a Saturday during lunch, our 3 sushi combos arrived like 15 minutes after my grandma's chicken udon), but that speaks to the made-to-order quality, so I'm not too bummed. Overall, as a sushi fanatic who doesn't like to break the bank each time we go out, this is my go-to and we'll be back every time we're in town.

I always order the Original King with extra firm noodles. I also love that they give you a customization sheet so you can personalize your ramen exactly how you like it. The only downside was the wait to get in since they don't take reservations, and we did seem to be a bit rushed to finish. At the end of the meal,, you have to pay at the front instead of the server bring the check, and the restaurant is cashless, so you can only pay with card. I Food -We got the chicken karaage on the side, and the portion was good. The chicken was juicy and tender, and had a light, crispy batter that had a sweet flavor. I also got the Original King Ramen. It had a good amount of chashu and noodles, although the portion did feel a little small. The tonkotsu broth was light creamy, and really comforting on a cold evening to warm you up.. It wasn't too salty, and it was filling.
