I recently discovered this pizza place and enjoyed it so much that I came back the very next day to order another pizza. While waiting, I noticed a small community board for local business cards and thought it would be a nice opportunity to leave a card for the residential apartment community I work for, which is located nearby. Unfortunately, once the owner, Mikah, realized I worked for a high-rise apartment building, he immediately became aggressive and started yelling at me about "corporate bullshit" being in his business. The reaction was completely unnecessary, especially considering I was there as a paying customer who genuinely enjoyed and wanted to support the restaurant. He made assumptions about me without knowing anything about why I was there or the fact that I had planned to recommend the restaurant to residents at my property. The pizza itself is very good, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Being treated disrespectfully and yelled at by the owner was completely uncalled for and highly unexpected. read more

Their online menu was very confusing to navigate. They need to update their website and make it user friendly. We called in multiple times at 7pm even though they close at 8pm. The answering machine kept saying they're busy on the phone with another customer. We decided to go elsewhere to get our pizza fix! read more

Really good pizza. Crust was great, love a crisp bite, lots of topping options. 1/2 & 1/2 is perfect for trying new combinations. My favorite thing about small local pizza shops is when they have the BAKED wings. I will say though that the wings could've used a little extra sauce. While the baked texture was perfect, the buffalo sauce was very mild and light. I also had ricotta and pepperoni on 1/2 our pizza. I really like this combination. The creaminess of the ricotta goes well with the pepperoni. Again I just think I'd like to see the ricotta have a little extra flavor. Even a little bit of salt just to bring out that natural flavor. They don't skimp on the ricotta, right in the center like a ball lol. Small piped ricotta, spread out would've gave an even bite. I personally think this is one of the best pizza places in the Monrovia/Arcadia area. The crust has a nice amount of crisp and the sauce is really good. There are a few benches to sit and eat on the inside but it seems more of a to-go place. The only issue I've had is I've called multiple times during business hours so I can order for pick up but the phone keeps saying they are busy so I end up going in to order and end up having to wait a bit for the pizza. I'd definitely still recommend this place though read more

First had this at a friends house-crust on the thinner side but crispy (not thin). How can I explain it? It was good. We had the combo and the margherita. Great and flavorful. This hidden gem is definitely worth trying out especially if you like quality pizza mostly made from scratch then you will most certainly like this pizza. Pizzas are not as big, but the quality is excellent. The crust is thin and crispy. The sauce is evenly distributed with the right amount of cheese and toppings. Service here is excellent. The staff was very helpful with menu questions. I would suggest placing your order ahead of time as there isn't much seating available. Unless you don't mind waiting in your car. Plenty of parking and definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a new pizza spot. read more

It just wasn't for me. The crust was flat and a bit over cooked. It was charred to a dark brown color. The pizza dough was more like a cracker than what pizza dough should be, crispy on the outside, airy and soft inside. If they are going for a thin crust it should have more flex in the dough too. Flavor overall was decent, but lacking. Unfortunately it missed its mark for us. The place itself does have a 1980s charm about it tho and I thought that gave it a nice nostalgic charm. read more

I got me and my mom lunch here, on Mother's Day (she wanted pizza). This was the first time I had ever been here. I will definitely be coming back. A nice staff member took my phone order, and nice staff members helped me when I picked up the pizza. You can't eat here, it is very tiny. We got a half cheese, half pepperoni pizza and we both enjoyed it. Of course we had to eat it with red pepper flakes and cheese. I would like to try other toppings on my next visit. read more

O M G. Don't know how we've missed this place considering how long they've been in business, but WOW!!! We've been to so many pizzarias in the SGV and many are good, some not so good and few truly stand out like Alitalia. This is a take-out place only. We placed our order and 20min later it was ready to go home. The crust is thin and crispy on the bottom, not burnt. We had the large sausage, pepperoni, mushroom and artichoke and it fed 2 people for 2 days. Just as good on day 2 heated up in the air fryer. Will definitely be back. read more

In terms of pizza, there are few great spots in Los Angeles. I still stand by my opinion that the best pizza is in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut, but this spot is as good as you can get around here. The pizza is well done, charcoaled just right, has no loose toppings and gives a decent crunch when bitten into. Locally owned pizza joints are better than any franchaised joints if you know how to look. Friendly service as well. The inside is small because this is more of a take-out place. Alitalia Pizza is really really good! I love the pizza because it's thin crust, not greasy with excellent sauce. I also really love their buffalo wings and homemade ranch!!! It's sooo good. While looking for a nearby pizza spot, Alitalia Pizzeria came up on our Yelp search. Their Pizza By the Slice option was very appealing so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. The location itself was on the small side. A bench and a few chairs for waiting but not a table to sit down to eat. Unfortunately when we got here they said the Pizza by the Slice option was only available until 4pm. That's fine but I wish they depicted it better on the menu. Had we known that wasn't an option in the evening, we would have called in our order instead of waiting around for a pizza to get made from scratch. I think we already had our stomachs set on the pepperoni so we decided to get their medium Pepperoni Pizza ($16.45). Then for the waiting that could have been avoided. It felt like forever. The one nice thing is they let you grab as much parmesan cheese and chili flakes as you want. The interesting thing is that their sign said they close at 8pm on Sundays but they closed up as soon as we left slightly after 7pm. In retrospect we were contemplating what else we should have gotten or even their half and half option. But not having the pizza by the slice thing and more labelling of such really threw me off. Anyways as to the pizza, my boyfriend thought the crust could have been thinner. I felt like it was oily. I was blotching the pizza like teenage oily acne skin. We both felt like we might be back for the pizza by the slice deal but we aren't in a hurry to try their full pizzas. The cost is high and the satisfaction isn't all the way there. read more

Time for an update! I'm upgrading my rating to 5 stars - our most recent experience was excellent! I've been meaning to revisit this locally owned pizza spot and have been seriously jonesing for some pizza - and it was fantastic - Totally satisfied my craving! This visit I ordered a small build- your-own pizza with meatballs and pepperoni. A small is 6 small slices but it was more than enough for me and hubby. They make the crust from scratch and I love it. It's light and slight chewy with a delicate flavor. They're generous with their meats and they seem to be high quality. The pie could definitely use a little bit more tomato sauce but it was still good - and my stomach didn't get upset after all that tomato acid so it's probably for the better haha! I called in my order for pick up and the staff member was very pleasant over the phone and when I picked up my order. She gave me plenty of Parmesan and chili flakes - which were actually a tad hotter than usual but I loved it! Inside has a few chairs to sit while you wait but no tables - this is definitely a grab and go establishment. It's located in a small strip mall with plenty of parking and is easy to get in and out of. They've changed ownership since I last visited - now they accept credit cards and more (used to be cash only). Their prices are pretty much the same - still a tad high imo but on par with everything else around here nowadays and the quality is there. Just got a pizza and wings from here for the first time and I wasn't disappointed. Omar's used to be my go to place for a thin Ny style pizza, but something happened and the crust took a steep dive in quality. Alitalia was what I was looking for. Not thick and doughy like just about every other pizza place around here. Thin, cheese with some flavor with a light crispy crust. Wings weren't undercooked or miniature size either. Always wanted to try this spot, so I looked them up on yelp. I didn't want to get a whole pizza so I was hoping on the menu they sold pizza by the slice, and they did! Right when I walked it there were a bunch of high school kids waiting for there order, which is a given since it's right across the street from MHS. But even though it was packed I was greeted right away, if you order by the slice they only have cheese or pepperoni. I ended up picking the pepperoni, and it was made to order not just sitting out. It literally only took a few minutes and my slice was ready! This slice was huge if you can tell from my photo. Well worth the price esp during happy hour which ends at 4pm. The Slice: I drove a few minutes to a local park with my box and drink, hoping for the best. The moment I opened the box, the aroma hit me and I knew; this was going to be good. The slices were still too hot to eat, which gave me just enough time to tear open a chili flake packet and let the anticipation build. When it finally cooled to "not molten," I took a bite and it was delicious. The crust had that slightly grainy texture, probably from cornmeal on the bottom, which added a pleasant crunch and character. We recently moved from Monrovia after 40 years and I'm back in town for business and this has been our go to pizza most of the time, it did years ago go the wrong way but then got back to its solid standard for the last couple years. Was craving it tonight and it was back to what it was a few years ago and tasted like a frozen pizza. Not sure what was off, sauce didn't taste like pizza sauce, bacon was very fatty and dough was stiff and dry.
