Alfaros did a great job removing our trees! We originally called them for one, but as they were removing it they noticed that another one was dying. They gave us a great price to remove both. During tree removal, some branches fell and tore our sliding screen door. They quickly ran to Home Depot and replaced the screen for us at no extra cost. I had six large cedar trees in the front that were dying. Some of the branches were entangled with the wires running from the street to the house. They did a wonderful job removing the trees, grinding the stumps and clearing the area of debris. They also sowed grass seed that is sprouting wonderfully after our recent rain. GREAT job!! A large branch fell on a Sunday (damaging a wood fence) and we had Alfaros estimate by noon on Monday and the HUGE (120 feet) tree was felled and the damaged fence repaired by Tuesday afternoon! I was thrilled with the quick service, the expert tree removal and overall experience. Getting to a place to put the crane required moving a fence, and it was put back, the yard cleaned up and the damaged wood fence replaced before the crew left. We contracted with Alfaros Tree Experts to trim 3 trees around our home. The back yard has a River Birch that is over 35 feet in height with large tall branches leaning towards the house. Everything went perfectly yesterday! If I need this type of service again, I will hire this company. Fidel Alfaro (owner) gave me a very reasonable price; so, I hired him on the evening of the estimate. I have hired tree companies through the years; so, I knew this price was good. Alfaro doesn't play games when he gives an estimate; he wants the business. He apparently knows that starting a price way too high won't get the customer's business; it creates distrust. Several years ago, a tree company gave me a verbal price that was twice as much as it should have been. I told that company that I wasn't going to pay such a ridiculous price; so, that company cut the price in half and put the price in writing. I had a similar experience with a painter. Maybe those companies think females are stupid or maybe all customers are stupid. When a company arrives at my home to give me an estimate, I now typically tell them immediately to not mess with me. I typically tell them to give me a reasonable price if they want my business. I told Fidel that I wanted someone on the job at all times who could speak English and that I wanted Fidel to be on the job at the beginning of the job. I have sometimes hired contractors in the past whereby the crew shows up and doesn't have a clue as to what they are supposed to do, or a crew shows up and not one person knows enough English to communicate with me. In summary, Fidel showed up with the crew and walked them through the project. The job included cutting down a dead 35-year-old Douglas Fir, several Leland Cypress shrubs, extensive trimming of two trees, trimming/shaping two shrubs, grinding the stumps of the Douglas Fir and the Leland Cypress shrubs, and cleaning out the gutters. Keep in mind that there may be some options regarding the shrub grinding. I never have the crews remove the mound that is created by shrub grinding; much of this mound came from underground. I will soak these mounds with water periodically, which helps the mounds settle back into the ground, while I do pick up larger chunks of wood periodically. However, it does take a long time for the mounds to settle; which option to chose is based upon how you plan to use that spot: eventually sowing grass seed of your choice or planting shrubs. In summary, the crew did a great job, and they removed and cleaned up everything outlined in the contract. Everything went smoothly, and I will definitely hire them again when I need tree service! A FINAL NOTE: The homeowner is the supervisor. If you hire a tree company (or hire any company), monitor the work in progress. A neighbor hired a tree company years ago, and her husband told me that the company didn't cut the tree the way his wife wanted it cut. I asked the husband where he and his wife were when the work was being done. He said he was at work and she was inside the house. You can't complain about any work if you stay parked away from the job. Supervise! Fortunately, the Alfaro crew didn't need much guidance; they knew what to do! read more

I have used Alfaro's tree services twice on the recommendation of my son. I was quite impress with the work done at his place, that I called to have them remove a tree, so I could get a driveway for my home. Alfaro met with me and gave me detailed info as to what was going to be done. He was very professional. I needed the stump removed and he assured me that when ready to do my driveway, if he needed to come back to grind down more, it would be no problem. It was October 8th 2018. The work took one day. I recently purchased a home that had 7 extremely large mature Oak trees surrounding the house. Their proximity to the house freaked me out. I was prepared to spend a fortune getting these trees removed. I called 3 tree companies and when I spoke with Fidel I knew I wasn't being taken advantage of. One of the other companies even told me they couldn't come close to his pricing. The crew showed up in the morning and worked until it was dark and had started to rain. I am being honest when I say I have never seen anything like what they did in my entire life. They had a large crew of guys, a crane, a bobcat, a wood chipper, and several dump trucks all geared up to climb, cut, hoist, and remove the cut trees. The trees in the backyard were cut and hoisted up over my home to the front driveway by the crane (I wish I would have taken pictures of the crane while they were doing that too because it was really cool to see). Fidel was the crane operator and you can tell that he has the skill of a surgeon. No damage was done to my yard or home and they cleaned up nicely. I definitely recommend this company for very large tree removal, not only for their expertise but for the fair pricing. I still have more trees to be removed and the stumps grinded down but you can best believe that my only call will be to Fidel at Alfaros. Danny was also great for walking the property with me (with his laser pointer) and he provided a very thorough estimate with pictures of each tree so there was no misunderstanding. Great job from Alfaro's Tree Expert! I had a very tall, old, dead oak tree in the back corner of my yard and the owner (Fidel) and his crew took it out in just a few hours. I reached out to several tree companies, but Alfaro's was the quickest to respond and come out to give me an estimate. They said that the work would require a crane given the condition of the tree and its hard to reach location. If you have a situation that will require a crane, Alfaro's is the best choice since they own their own crane. Other tree companies have to rent a crane from somewhere else, which drives up the total cost of the job (which was obvious from the other quotes I got). They were eager to do the work and were able to schedule it quickly. Communication before, during and after the job was great. Fidel set up the crane in the driveway and skillfully operated it to remove the limbs and trunk of the tree that the workers had sawed off, piece by piece. The workers were highly skilled and did their jobs safely. After the job was complete, they cleaned up both the front and back yards really well. Couldn't even tell they had been there! I had an excellent experience with this company. We had an enormous 100+ year old silver maple that was beginning to rot and had fallen down partially. It needed a crane to do the work and Fidel's crew got it done with minimal disruption. They also cleaned up the site very well after the job was done and believe me, it was a messy job. They removed one large tree for me at a good price. However, they then over pruned my mature magnolia when I told the crew not to touch it. I mistakenly left the site early and came back the next day to see the tree misshaped and over pruned. Mature magnolias should not be pruned unless absolutely necessary. Mr. Alfaro should not have even recommended I prune the tree. He should have supervised his crew, so this mistake did not happen. I question his skills as an arborist. I now have a misshapen, over stressed magnolia which will take years to recover. read more
