Went for a work dinner with my colleagues and had such a good experience here!! We got the arancini, the garlic bread, and the shrimp and lobster pastas and all were perfect. The arancini was so decadent and the garlic bread came with a head of garlic confit - both were perfectly appetizers. We also got the shrimp pasta and lobster pasta and both were delicious! The lobster pasta was very filling, so I recommend the shrimp pasta if you want something on the lighter side. The service was good, but there was a wait both times we strolled by (Sunday and Tuesday), so would recommend making a res. The only caveat is that I would not recommend coming here with a party larger than 4 people, the restaurant is very small and rustic and can't fit a larger party. It was fine for us as we were able to push some outside tables together (and it was a beautiful evening), but I do wish we could have sat inside. read more

I'm rating this spot based on the takeout but definitely want to come back and rate the restaurant in person so that I can get a feel for the ambiance and service. Had such a fabulous dinner at Little Nonna's last night. I think it might be my new favorite Italian spot in Philly! The service was great and food came out piping hot, for which they get instant brownie points in my book. Let's get into the food: Garlic bread: 10/10 the roasted garlic is so simple to do, but makes takes a regular garlic bread to a new level. Olives: 7/10 nothing revolutionary, but tasty! Eggplant parm: 15/10 SOOO good! I loved the burrata and pesto mixed in with it. Caesar salad 12/10: the croutons were such a pleasant surprise. I believe they are made from polenta and they were soft and delicious! Branzino: my mom ordered this and rates it a 10/10! I got a small bite and it was superb. Amazing time for a dinner with friends. Even on a cold night, their covered patio is nice and toasty. I am so glad I listened to the reviews and got the Sunday Gravy, it was so much quality food and an economical option that gave a lot of variety. My friend got the vodka sauce pasta and that was another tank favorite. The garlic bread was good, I a big bread person though, so I think that one order is good for 2 people-maybe 4 if you want a smaller portion of it. Came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary and left feeling underwhelmed. The food was fine but nothing memorable. I did enjoy the highly acclaimed garlic bread, though the clams casino was just okay, my boyfriend said he liked it but didn't even take his leftovers. My Sunday gravy had a more home-cooked, authentic taste than most Italian restaurants I've been to, and the portions were huge. The cannolis were actually great, and that's coming from someone who usually doesn't like them. The biggest disappointment was the seating. We were placed outside in the back, right next to what was essentially a server entrance covered by a large shower curtain. This is extremely mediocre Italian food served in extremely large portions. Nothing was terrible. Nothing blew us away. Everything had very muted flavors except for salt. As many of the reviews note, the food here is very, very salty. Pasta with Sunday sauce was a disappointment. Very little depth of flavor. An Italian lemonade was a ripoff. I drank a whole carafe. I'm really disappointed with my experience at Little Nona's. Today was my dad's birthday, and what should have been a special celebration turned into a frustrating situation. The manager was very rude and stated she could not accommodate my party of six. Instead, we were given the option to sit in two completely different areas of the restaurant, which defeats the purpose of celebrating together. What made it even more frustrating was that there were clearly two available tables right in front that could have worked for us, but the manager said she didn't want to give up two high-top tables for one party--which made no sense. Because of this, we had no choice but to leave and find somewhere else to celebrate my father's birthday. I understand restaurants have policies, but the lack of flexibility and the rude attitude made this a very negative experience. read more

Braised Short Rib Lumache $24 (short rib ragu, greens, favas, mushrooms, whipped ricotta, horseradish) - this was soooo salty. The gravy tasted like I was just eating roast beef sauce. But I could not get over how salty it was. Mixing in the ricotta helped but there was only a bit of that. I ended up mixing this with our other pasta dish to make it edible. Sunday Gravy $26 (braised short rib, meatball, garlic sausage, broccoli rabe) - the macaroni was okay. I used this to mix into the dish above to lessen the saltiness of the other one. We had a really disappointing experience at Little Nonna's. We made reservations through OpenTable for my father's birthday. Because the system only allows dinner reservations for parties of 3 at that time , my sister and I each booked a table for 3 and called multiple times ahead of time to request that the tables be placed together. Unfortunately, no one ever answered the phone. When we arrived, we politely explained the situation to the host/"manager" and asked if they could accommodate us. There were clearly two 4-top tables right next to each other that could have easily worked for our group. However, she refused, stating she would "lose out on another two-top." The interaction felt dismissive and unnecessarily rigid. There was no effort to problem-solve or make a special occasion feel even remotely special. The lack of warmth and hospitality was honestly the most disappointing part--we were made to feel like an inconvenience rather than guests. Because of this, we ended up leaving and scrambling to find another restaurant for my dad's birthday. I was in town for business and wanted to visit a local favorite. This spot made many locals' lists so I had to try it. I was seated immediately - which was expected as I was dining alone, and was handed a simple menu. I ordered a glass of cabernet, and the vodka rigatoni for my main entree. OH MY GOD. The sauce in my past was IMMACULATE. The pasta consistency was perfect...and the homemade sausage that came was an explosion of flavors. I devoured it shamelessly and though it seemed I did so non stop, it looks as if I barely touched my plate. There was a lot of food and was probably better shared with someone else. There was a lot of heat in the pasta so naturally I needed to counter it with something cool and sweet. I couldn't turn down the opportunity to try their tiramisu and proceeded to enjoy every bite. The space was beautifully set in a romantic and dark ambiance. Dinner at Little Nonna's on a Sunday evening was a decent time. The establishment is pretty small and intimate so expect for your table to be very close to other patrons. My friend made a reservation in advance so I was seated promptly, and they were quite gracious when my friend arrived more than 30 minutes late. We both ordered the branzino and while it was very tasty, the portion was on the smaller side. I also think I ordered an appetizer, maybe garlic bread, but the fact that I don't remember for sure is all the review you need for that. Unfortunately, I witnessed some discrimination taking place while at this establishment. My seat was right at the entrance, and there was a steady stream of DoorDash/Uber Eats/Grub Hub drivers arriving. For whatever reason (though I have a very big hunch), the staff treated one young man with a particular disdain. They seemed to have an issue with wherever he stood and, despite having his order in hand, they first distributed orders to other individuals who arrived after him.
