I ordered worth 80 dollars food which was delivered via uber eats! I did not receive the salad dressing or the Tzatziki. I called spoke to Christian . He said he can send those to me. Waited another 30 min to receive it. I received the second order and Tzatziki was open, smeared in the bag. I called pretty annoyed by now as the food was cold, after over an hr waiting , still dot have my food. I explained to him ! He was unprofessional, I could hear him laugh! He blamed uber eats. How is that their fault? The restaurant didn't put my order in, and the restaurant left the container open. I asked him I want my money back, as the halumi that I had ordered now is plastic like, and the food was cold. I was not gonna wait another 40 min for my order - almost 3 hours later! Really cute spot! Their outdoor dining area is a vibe for sure! It's very much a Greek restaurant, but elevated. Starters are large portions, shareable! There were some interesting flavors which tasted fresh, although a bit bland for me. I went with my friends and ordered fried halloumi for the table which was 10/10! So wanted to give 4 stars but just can't. Waited 15 Minutes at the bar for a table. Never once asked if we wanted a drink. We had to ask for wine. And then ordered grilled octopus. They have liquor but can't make a martini. Grilled octopus was served when we sat at our table. The consistency was perfect. The flavor was lacking. No char. Tomatoes were cold. Needed lemon. Water brought. No pita bread. Water never poured again. Plenty of staff but no one really looking. Asked for water and it was poured but that was it. Never saw water again. Ran out of swordfish so bronzino was substituted for more $ of course. It was good. Deboned pretty well. Lemon potatoes are delicious. Gyro platter was flavorful but greasy. Tzatziki not memorable. Rolled eggplant was delicious. Filled with spinach. No offer of dessert. Just cigar baklava brought. It was good however. No offer of coffee. Had to wave a server over to ask for Greek coffee. Astoria is full of amazing Greek restaurants, and Aliada is at the top of that competitive list. They have a lovely outdoor seating area that is perfect for a nice day. They give every table pita and hummus to start, and of course you have to order their delicious Greek salad. I got the octopus for lunch and it had an amazing char grill flavor, and was super tender and flavorful from the capers and vinaigrette. The branzino and lemon roasted potatoes are also excellent options, and I would definitely return to try other items. read more

I came here for a family dinner and Im so glad I did! The food is delicious. The portions are great. The service is A1 premium! My family and I ordered the falafel, red snapper, lamb platter, greek salad, 3 cheese spread, and maybe even more. Everything we got was so good and filling and we all left very satisfied. There was a lot of wait staff going around asking if we needed anything, so we were definitely well taken care of. Would come back again! Good for groups or one-on-ones. Super impressed. Was in Astoria Queens to attend church services. After service walked down the street to find a place to have dinner stumbled upon Aliada a Greek Cypriot restaurant. It was around 20:00 & from the street, the place looked packed - good sign. I entered and immediately was greeted by a hostess. I had no reservations, it would be a 15 - 20 minutes wait for a table or I can be seated at the bar immediately. I decided the bar since I was quite hungry. There was one open seat at the bar. I ordered a drink & immediately there was an appetizer - hummus & pita bread. While perusing the menu the hostess approached me and said that there was a table that became available & asked would I like to be seated at the table - sure. They moved all of my plates, drink & all with a new place setting - great. Finally decided on my dishes - Horiatiki Salad - aka peasant salad of chunks of cucumbers, tomato, feta & onion, Grilled calamari in lemon oil vinaigrette. The Horiatiki salad arrived, followed shortly after by the grilled calamari - all looking goooood. Horiatiki was much more refined then I'm used to no big chunks of anything, just bite size pieces. The feta cheese was Cypriot, much more milder & creamier then the 'Greek' feta - nice. Don't get me wrong, I like/love Greek feta but this was a nice change. The calamari was absolutely delicious. I like the char & the flavor it adds. All in all this is a nice place to have a quick inexpensive dinner. I definitely would go back if I'm in the neighborhood. read more

A tiny little , unassuming Greek restaurant with such great food! My niece who lives in Astoria and has a wide choice of cuisines, decided on Aliada. We were not disappointed. The food was so delicious....my chicken kebab was seasoned so well, so juicy and so tasty. The lemon potatoes melted in our mouths. My niece ordered a vegetable dish prepared perfectly! We ordered a Dorado fish. 30 mins later they served us a Branzino instead. We were surprised that they switched out order without confirming with us. Food was okay. It's one thing to not be attentive, it's another when we can't even get your attention because you're glued to your phone!!! We were walking down Broadway on Saturday night, looking for a dinner spot, and Aliada's was packed. It said Greek-Cypriot, and you could see by the menu there was lots of seafood, along with more traditional Greek food. So we decided to try it for Sunday lunch. There were so many things to try, that we decided, since we were on vacation, and it was a birthday celebration, to try the seafood meze.. the sampler... It was incredible. The appetizers included the tahini, feta spreads, and one made with cod roe, which was my favorite, but the others were great too. Then came the salad, with with a bowl of mussels, grilled squid and prawns, and two fried fish. then came the entrees: a beautiful branzino, and octopus. We ate everything except the fries, and we were stuffed, and very happy to have tried.. 13 dishes! For my wife & I, this is literally our favorite restaurant in the United States of America. I'm not even joking. If we could pick one place to have dinner anywhere on the country, it's Aliada. We live in Texas but travel to NYC frequently & always make it a priority on every trip - business or pleasure - to stop in for dinner here. We've probably eaten dinner here 10+ times. The food is AMAZING! The owner & staff are hospitable, friendly & make you feel right at home. The vibe is 100% Astoria/Queens. Seriously cannot say enough good about this place! As far as recommendations go, we highly recommend the chef meze or fish meze. Both come with a huge selection of a variety of Cypriot Greek foods that are delicious. Soooo where to begin. I came here with my boyfriend on a Tuesday night. It was our first time dining anywhere since Covid hit and I am SO glad we chose to eat here. I will break down my review into 3 parts, service, food, and ambience Service/General experience Aliada is was a completely wonderful experience. It seems like everyone knows it too! Our server George was a COMPLETE angel. They give you nice pita bread and hummus before you start your meal, but because I have a metabolic disorder and can't have bread they brought out cut and lightly seasoned cucumbers which I thought was so sweet. They even gave us sliced watermelon at the end of our meal--sooo considerate! Food: The food is so amazing. If you're coming here definitely get the calamari and don't shy away from seafood. We ate some of the food before I thought to take pics but my fave was the calamari & the shrimp santorini (So. Freaking. Good.)--the latter of which comes with a side. My boyfriend loved the grilled octopus--though I wasn't a fan I could recognize the smoky flavor, tender texture and everything they did right with the dish. The food portion is super great for the price, my boyfriend and I practically forced ourselves it was great lol. I was not a fan of the halloumi fries (or was I? They grew on me?) but the presentation of them was gorgeous. Not sure if I would order again, more like halloumi sticks instead of fries (like drier mozzarella stick alternative) but I'm glad I tried it. Did I mention how good the calamari and shrimp Santorini was? Ambience: The outside environment at night is so much cuter than during the day, so if you're looking for a subtle low key date night or just a cute vibe with friends I would honestly wait until later in the day when the lights are on and out. There was some weird stuff going on with the "business" next door that might distract from the experience but honestly the food and service was so good I didn't care. I went to Aliada with two friends last night for dinner. We were dressed casually and immediately were treated differently because of the way we looked. Waiters were constantly hovering over us and treating my friends and I like we were not good enough to be there. We were then harassed and told that we did not order the food we were eating. To have to sit at dinner and feel people staring and judging based on our looks was embarrassing and unprofessional. What we thought was going to be a nice dinner turned out to be embarrassing and terrible I do not recommend coming here. Nobody should be treated this way because we were in jeans and sweaters instead of a dress. read more

Came here during COVID with a party of 5! The outdoor seating is gorgeous and spacious, and on a nice night it really is a pleasant dining experience. Staff is attentive and friendly. I only wish that the food tasted better, esp since it's in the middle of Greektown aka Astoria!!! I celebrated Valentine's Day with my bf at Aliada. I've been ordering take-out grilled salads from this place for years. This was my first time sitting inside the restaurant and I greatly enjoyed it! Even though, we made reservations and still had to wait for a table since it was a busy night. I can't complain. The service was prompt and great overall. On a side note: I loved that the menu was not pre-fixed for V-day. I hate restaurants with pre-fixed menus for special holidays. They tend to be over-priced and over-rated. First off they gave use fresh and warm pita bread, that was perfect to eat with their olive oil and a small side of hummus. We ordered a small Greek salad, eggplant lasagna, and a combo seafood grill - with giant prawns, octopus, baby squids, and salmon. We had more food than we signed up for but they were all very delicious and satisfying. The salad was yummy - just how it should be made. Good portion size to share. It was actually more filling that I expect. The eggplant lasagna was a bit on the salty side but it's something new to us. The gem was the seafood grill combo. It worths every penny. Simple, fresh, and deliciously made. I love grilled octopus. I basically go to Greek restaurants and wanted to have quality grilled octopus. Well - I was a happy camper after the first bite. The grilled salmon was yummy too. It was cooked just right. The giant shrimps and baby squids were all very tender. We had a major food coma after the meal. They also offered us a yummy baklava for dessert. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. We felt well taken care of. Chose this place for dinner on a weeknight. They have plenty of outdoor seating for a summer night. Pros: food is excellent. Boyfriend's observation is everything had a "homecooked" feel to it. Favorites were the grilled octopus and mixed meat platter. The serving size for the meat platter was so much we took leftovers home. Cons: Service could be better. After our waitress took our order she never came back. We asked for extra pita bread after we ran out but it never came. In May 2021, I tried to eat at this Greek restaurant. It was so packed that we could not get a table inside or outside. So we headed to an Italian wine bar a little further down. At the end of June 2022, I headed back down to Aliada. The restaurant was empty. There was something not quite right, even off a bit. I got there around 8 pm and didn't leave until 9.30. It felt the wait staff and employees were abandoning the restaurant. I took a quiet seat in the corner and ordered my usual favorites tarama, lemon potatoes, and lamb chops. I was hoping they would be as good as Zenon, which closed last year and was one a very small handful of Greek Cypriot restaurants left. The meal took almost an hour to prepare. Everything was off the lemon potatoes were hard and hard to cut, the bread was not fresh, the tarma tasted like a creamy yogurt, and the lamb chops were not succulent. I couldn't wait to get out there. I had read mixed reviews about them, but my dining experience was far from satisfactory. The only plus was a clean establishment. I will not be back read more
