If you're in downtown or little Italy, I highly recommend her! I took my new dress pants for hemming and she was able to turn it around in only 2 business days. I tried it back on and it now looks perfect!

Best tailor around! We took the suit my husband wore for our engagement photos to then and liked their work so much that I brought my wedding dress to them for final adjustments. We will be customers for life.

She is amazing!! I had been going to Walla for my regular alterations for the past 2 years so it was a no-brainer when it came to getting my wedding dress altered. Not only did she do an amazing job custom fitting my mermaid-style dress to my body shape but she created a completely custom design sleeve for my dress! I purchased a strapless wedding dress and wanted a nice, off-the-shoulder "princess" style sleeve. Walla created it completely on her own and made my dream dress come true! I would absolutely recommend her!

I was referred to Walla by my godmother and was told that she had a lot of experience working with wedding dresses. Walla seemed very kind and professional, and for the record she did a good job on the other 3 regular dresses we brought in for the rehearsal dinner and my nieces rehearsal dinner and flower girl dress. She also altered my wedding dress and 2 weeks later I came back for my fitting and the dress did not fit. She had taken it in too much and had to let it out. She also told me the dress couldn't be bustled. I came back the following week and tried the dress on after she let it out. I was in a hurry and tired the dress on quickly as she had another customer waiting. I was so relieved that the dress zipped up that I didn't realize she had cut into the material on the right side of the dress to alter it and the bust was lopsided. She made a large cut in the bodice of the dress, she did not open it up at the seam. I tried it on again that weekend when I went veil shopping and noticed that the bust part was lopsided and bulging out on one side and couldn't figure out what was wrong. I called around to other seamstresses in town to have them take a look and see if they could bustle the dress. She opened up the dress and was horrified at how the dress was altered. She had cut into it and then used the lace flowers from the straps I had her remove to cover up the cuts inside the dress. The new seamstress did the best she could to repair the dress and said I really should have ordered a new one but with two weeks away from the wedding and the dress no longer in stock, I had no choice but to try to make it work. I called Walla about a week before the wedding and let her know what I discovered, she insisted that I bring the dress back to her to fix it and I refused as it was already being fixed at the other seamstress and was at the other shop still. I didn't want Walla messing the dress up further. If she could fix it, it would have been done correctly the first time. Walla finally agreed on the phone after a lot of arguing to reimburse me for the new seamstress charges and I told her that when I picked up the dress I would text her my address and the amount and even offered a receipt. She said she didn't need a receipt and would reimburse whatever it was. The other seamstress had no problem adding a bustle. She also noticed that the zipper was broken from forcing it closed and dirty. She had to add extra boning in the bust to try to even out the bulge. She also had two other wedding gowns she was fixing from Walla. I sent Walla the amount a few weeks ago and have been trying to follow up by calling her cell with no answer. I called the shop several times with no answer. Then finally today I called from a friend's phone to the shop and she answered right away. She is now refusing to pay with all sorts of arguments and excuses. Going back to the original excuse that I should have brought the dress back to her to fix and it has been too long now after the alterations were done. I now have to take her to small claims court to recover the costs. The dress is ruined, I had hoped to resale the dress but the bust is still not as it should be. I would say for a simple alteration Walla would do a great job but she should not be altering wedding dresses. This added so much unnecessary stress and cost in the weeks leading up to the wedding. My fiance actually wanted me to wait until after the wedding to confront Walla because I was so sad about the whole thing but didn't want it looming over my head. We have given her every opportunity to make this situation right, but she is incredibly argumentative even after seeing the pictures, knowing she hacked up my dress. It seems like it should be common sense to use the seams of the dress to alter it and also make sure you do it evenly on both sides. It should have been a red flag when she said the dress could not be bustled but she had already begun the alterations.

I will likely try a business shop vs home shop next time. I called multiple times and arranged for a fitting to alter two jackets. First Don said he was available the next day and to call back. I did and arranged to stop by, kept asking for the address, and finally he gave it to me, but called back later and ask I stop by later that day. When I tried again in the afternoon, he gave me an address and said his sister is helping him and will meet with me. Went to the home and the man introduced himself as Don so I was so confused. He said a business partner is sending him leadals, maybe that is Don? The woman (Loan) was very sweet who did my alterations. I'm not someone who leaves bad reviews unless I genuinely feel a business deserves it…read more I called on a Thursday about a tie that had twisted stitching, causing the front blade not to lay flat. I actually had two ties with the same issue. He said he thought he could fix them, so I drove over to give him a chance. He told me to leave one tie first, and if I was happy with the result, he'd work on the second one. Fair enough. He asked me to come back Tuesday. The shop itself was also concerning. It looked extremely cluttered, with clothing and orders piled everywhere. It honestly felt more like a hoarder's house than a tailor shop. Before I left, I also asked if he could make a tie skinnier. He said yes, for $45. No problem. I came back on Wednesday and asked for an update. He told me he hadn't even started because he'd been too busy. I looked down, and my tie was still sitting in the exact same spot where I'd left it, untouched, on top of a pile of other clothes. I wasn't upset about the delay. Things happen. He started giving me his phone number so I could call him later, but I told him I already had it. Then I tried to hand him another tie that I simply wanted made skinnier. I couldn't even finish explaining what I wanted because he kept cutting me off and assuming it had the same repair issue as the first tie. I repeatedly tried to explain that this was just a standard alteration, but he wouldn't listen. Instead, he insisted he wouldn't take the second tie until the first one was finished. That made no sense to me. If it's a service he offers, why not just accept the tie and work on it whenever he has time? At that point, I took both ties back and decided to go somewhere else. The whole experience was a waste of time. Poor organization, rude communication, and an extremely messy shop. His prices may be reasonable, but that's not enough when the customer experience is this frustrating.

I came to her with very little knowledge about the process or what was even possible with the gown. She helped me create a vision, gave me thoughtful structural advice and options, and guided me toward decisions that ultimately led to the wedding gown of my dreams. She began by having the dress cleaned and brought back to its original color, then stripped it down to the base fabric and rebuilt it from there. We discovered it was just slightly too short, so she offered creative suggestions for how to work with it. She was patient with me at every appointment as we discovered what would work with the realities of the dress while still honoring my new vision. She added multiple layers, boning, and the perfect basque waist, and now it fits me beautifully. It is also surprisingly comfortable. What started as a 79-year-old vintage family heirloom became a bespoke couture wedding gown that feels like it came from a high-end boutique. I am forever grateful for Bridgette's patience, creativity, and expertise and would recommend her to any family, friend or loved one looking for a personalized, uplifting experience!
