Came here on a friend's recommendation and, unfortunately, I was disappointed with the work I received. I had no issues with the owner herself as she was very nice every time I came. The came in for a minor alteration on my bridesmaid dress for the bust area. I was told to come back in 3.5 weeks to get it, and when I did, my dress wasn't even done. She told me to come back in an hour, which meant I now was going to be stuck in traffic. I came back an hour later and my dress was finally finished. However, she didn't even have me try it on. She just put it straight into a bag so I didn't see it before leaving the shop. When I got home and took it out, I noticed the following issues: 1. part of the dress had changed from black to navy blue (see pic for comparison) 2. she left the needle in my dress 3. some of the boning got crushed and misshapen 1 week before the wedding, I ended up having to buy a replacement dress because the issues could not be repaired. The price of the alteration was reasonable ($12), but buying a whole new dress ended up costing me another $100. read more

I absolutely LOVE Ahn (I hope I am spelling her name right) and her magnificent work. We initially came to her to hem my boyfriend's new jeans. Shortly after, based on how kind and accommodating she was, I brought a robe to her so that she could put pockets in it for me. She did such an amazing job and we also had a nice chat about robes and clothing in general. Today, I picked up a dress from her, which she puts pockets in for me as well. I adore this dress but had absolutely no hesitation about bringing it in to be cut up - I knew that she would do a beautiful job. This time was no different. Anh is the kindest, loveliest, most giving and talented seamstress. She is working 24/7 trying to make her incredible masks for her community. She started out not charging anything, then finally had to charge $5 which is extraordinarily low, given her quality and detail. No one else that I've seen makes men's, women's and children's sizes. She makes her own elastic so they are super comfortable to slip on over your ears vs. messing with the stressful ties most people are making/selling. She is now totally out of fabric so is asking people to bring in their own fabric for her to customize masks for her customers. Cotton is best, so any sheets, pillowcases, clothing fabric works. Best to stop by and order in person and talk to her because she's just too swamped to answer the phone. read more

I take everything here for alterations/tailoring. The owner is one of the nicest people! When I told her I needed my pants altered in two days for an interview she was able to get them done in time. I misread the time that she closes online and she called me a few minutes before closing because she knew I really needed the pants. I visit here at least twice a month for the family I nanny for. Anh can do anything from elastic in bathing suits, buttons on expensive jackets, zippers on purses, and she's the best at girl scout patches too! I always check out the beautiful formal gowns that she's working on, her bead work is awesome! If it's something simple she can usually fix it on the spot if you have a few minutes to wait. AND there's a nail salon & a bar right next door to boot! I'm usually in no hurry to get my things back, drop off on Monday, pick up on Friday :) read more

I absolutely love the lady (Anh) that runs this shop. She is so friendly, attentive and will always remember you! I think she's always done a great job with my alterations...haven't tried them yet for dry cleaning. She did a particularly excellent job on my bikini bottoms. Only problem I've experienced here (and hence the three stars) is that often my clothes won't be ready when they are expected to be. It's not a huge deal since I live down the street and she's so damn sweet, but if you need you pants hemmed ASAP I'm not sure if this is the best place to go. read more

I absolutely love Ann. She does an amazing job for great pricing. I had to get a bridesmaid dress tailored....along with 10 other bridesmaids. I took my dress to Ann. She took great care by adding darting here and moving rhinestones there. She tailored my dress so well, I was the only one in the wedding party that looked like my dress was made for me. Even the bride's dress was a little off. She could even make a dress from my chicken scratch drawings. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but my experience needs to be shared. I took two pairs of jeans as well as some dress pants in to be fixed by Ann. For the jeans, I asked for a simple hemming job, which Ann was able to do and do well. However my rating is based off of what was done to my dress pants. I had these great brown wool dress pants that I loved. The only problem was they were a little bit baggy and long. I asked for Ann to hem them as well as slim the pants from the legs on down and taper at the bottom. I put on the pants, she pinned them, and I left the shop. I picked up the pants in a few days and when I got them home they were ruined. They bunched up at my knee, and were so tight around my calves that I could barely get them on. They didn't look like dress pants anymore, at all. I took them back and asked that they be fixed, she did what she could to let out the seems but the damage was done and the pants still looked ridiculous. If you're a guy and you need something more complicated than a hem job done, I would pass on this place. Go to a real tailor, not a sewing shop that says tailor on the outside. I learned my lesson. read more

I had been contemplating purchasing a few new suits with a much skinnier fit than the suits I've been wearing over the past few years. Obviously purchasing a few new skinny suits would have been a pretty large investment, so I decided to bring one of my suits to Ann to get custom fitted and see how it turned out. I couldn't have been happier with the way my first suit alteration turned out. The number of compliments I've received while wearing it after the alterations makes me feel like I just bought a brand new suit, but at a fraction of the cost. Since my first alteration, I've brought 3 more suits to Ann to have custom fitted and all of them have turned out perfectly. Not only is Ann super good at what she does, she's also very knowledgeable and will provide excellent alteration recommendations based on the look you are going for. I am still new to the world of tailored clothing. It was only a year or so ago when I realized tailors are not just for suits. I've been amazed with Anh's work, so far I've brought her suit pants, jacket, dress slacks, and a pair of jeans that I just picked up today and am wearing while I write this review. I've had all of my alterations done by Anh now for the last five years. She's hemmed my expensive jeans, replacing the hems as they were originally. Her prices are reasonable compared to other places I have gone...particularly since I have dropped things off and had her tell me to come back the next day! I have been using Ann since I moved to San Diego. She is very knowledgeable, good, honest and inexpensive. To get my entire suit tailored (pant hem, taking the pant waist and leg in, taking the jacket in, and jacket sleeves) was only $62. Back in Boston that would have cost me $180 easy. To boot, she is a very nice lady. She does not accept credit cards so bring cash. I highly recommend her. read more

She modified a racing suit made out of fireproof material to fit better, then also modified a pair of white and a pair of black pants split down the middle then halves swapped to create half black and half white pants.
