Cafe 37 was right next to my hotel and one of my NYC eating goals was to get a bacon, egg and cheesie. Surprisingly, it was harder to obtain than I thought and I figured well, it's not going to be terrible. Walked in, asked for a bacon, egg and cheesie on an everything bagel and I got exactly what I wanted. A greasy, bomb with pre-cooked bacon reheated on the gridle next to me egg on a toasted generic bagel. Hit the spot. I had passed this place a few times (it is right next to my hotel) so I stopped in to try it out. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel with a side of potatoes. The employee went right to work on the grill but there was some miscommunication where he put my potatoes on my bagel and let me tell you...I was not mad at all!! it was sooo delicious and the staff didn't even question my (accidental) modification. I am so glad that I decided to stop into this hole in the wall because this is some of the best breakfast I've ever had. The sandwich was $7.00 while a large vanilla coffee was $3.50. read more

This cafe has amazing food and the cooks are very pleasant with customers. They make everything for breakfast and lunch only and I would trust everything they make from tacos to pollo guisado. We stayed a week at the Marriott New York Pulse Vacation Club. Cafe 37 is a short walk down towards 6th Ave. Before our walking tours of the city, we would grab a bagel and smear, and a coffee. The customer service was fantastic and very friendly. I wish we were able to check out the food for lunch, but we were never back in time as they closed at 4:00 pm. Everything on the steam table looked delicious, especially the pork. We will be back to NYC, and when we do, we will be back to Cafe 37. read more

I was looking for a an easy and inexpensive breakfast that was made to order. This place hit the spot! They are very friendly and are super efficient. I ordered a veggie omelet with a side of turkey bacon. Every omelet comes with a side of potatoes and two pieces of buttered toast, all for less than $8! The veggie omelet was very good and cooked perfectly. The coffee was also fresh made and very tasty. Definitely will be coming back here again for other meals based on such great reviews of lunches, etc. read more

If great customer service and delicious, made to order food are what you are looking for, this one is sure to please. The store could use some cosmetic attention and a restroom for customers. Good place to stop if you are near Penn Station or Empire State Building. A cross between a deli and a diner. Take-out orders in front, counter seating further back, small buffet table next. Table seating across from the buffet. Table service is provided at least some of the time. Background music was Latin, not too loud. Three or four flat-screens with the sound off, tuned to news. I was so happy to find this small gem in such a busy area. Owned and operated by Latinos, It felt like a piece of home downtown which is rare! (I myself am Puerto Rican). Ouch! I come here often (if anyone can sniff out a good burrito it's me!) Officially docking a star due to absolutely unfriendly and rude cashiers. One of them grabbed my credit card out of my hand (which was not extended to her) before she told me the price of my lunch, and threw a fit when I asked her to tell me the price. She yelled it out loud like it was the 10th time I'd asked her, and when I asked her for a receipt she literally "shooed" me away to make room for the next customer. I was so happy to see that when I started working at my job there was a deli right next door. Unfortunately that's where the good stops. I ordered my food off of Seamless. It said 20 minutes. I went there after 10 knowing that it wouldn't be ready, by just getting away from my desk. I get there and tell them I made an order they had no idea what I was talking about. Oh wait! There it is. We just had their taco bowls for a late lunch. My husband had their pork and I had their chicken taco bowl. We were very happy with the moistness, Variety of flavors and the amount of meat. (So often you get lots of beans and rice and lettuce). Now we understand why it's a taco bowl and not called a taco salad. The lettuce was a dressing like the pico and sour cream. I love this place. I come here most work-days for a salad, sandwich, or sometimes even the occasional quesadilla. They're such hard workers and the staff listen to your order. Not to mention, the food is delicious and tastes so authentic and home-cooked. My coworkers are obsessed with the chicken francaise. I usually opt for the salad and the salad guy knows my order at this point! They also recognize regulars at check out and always make a point to say hello. They're also pretty quick with delivery, I always see the delivery guy busting his ass running around midtown by foot. Take it up with them directly if you're unhappy with an order and they will fix it immediately but don't post a negative review on yelp without trying first. They work too hard to please! The food here is pretty good. Personally Im a big fan of the atkins burger (its delicious). The prices are quite fair. About $7 or $8 for a deluxe burger which includes fries, and a drink. They also have a variety of foods to pick from. Would definitely recommend. read more

This was one of my favorite little cafe in this area, until my last visit , they have this system in place , in the morning rush hour that goes - you place your order then step down tell the cashier what u ordered you pay and wait so i normally do this with every visit and I have been going here for the last 5 years this day I order egg whites w the works with cheddar home fries with extra bacon I step down to tell the cashier what I have like customer before me, the cook says WAIT and tells her what I have in spanish like I wasn't prepared to pay the hefty price of 10.95 or include the extra bacon needless to say since I was the only black person on line I felt segregated and won't be back read more

Cafe 37 has quickly become of my go to places in midtown for lunch. Haven't had a bad lunch from here yet and the prices are right. Go to the back for the tacos. The selection is usually beef (which is essentially pepper steak), chicken, pork and spicy pork. Every once and a while they have chorizo but it's rare. The shells are soft corn and they are doubled up. They offer lettuce, sour cream, a green chili sauce, avocado sauce. You can get shredded cheese but it's an extra $.75/taco. Don't bother, you don't need it. The tacos are stuffed and they are only $2.50 each. 3 tacos is a huge lunch. The burrito's are available with the same fillings and they are huge as well. They also offer hot plate lunch specials for about $7. You get a protein of choice and two sides. The sandwiches are good as well and priced on par with other midtown deli's if not better. They have some pre-made wraps that are huge and look pretty good. I haven't tried one but I've heard they are good. One thing that can not be under valued is there good selection of chips. On the right hand wall when you walk in they have a large selection of 'gourmet' chips. I love the Deep River cheddar and horseradish! They also have a make your own salad bar but I haven't tried it yet. Do yourself a favor and go check this out for lunch if you work in midtown. You won't regret it. read more

Great little deli! Its clean and the staff is always friendly. I usually get a salad from here at least once a week. The little man who makes the salads is adorable and takes great pride in serving his customers. He knows my order and begins making it before I even get to the counter! They have a variety of hot dishes, soups, and sandwiches. All are good and everything is always consistent. The prices are also incredibly reasonable.
