A great lunch stop after a morning of playing pickleball in Biddeford. Found parking on the street right in front of the restaurant and our group of six were quickly seated upstairs. Drink orders were taken quickly followed by lobster bisque and clam chowder starters. All delicious! Mains ordered were: steamed mussels, fred clam strips, crabby lee miller (crab melt) and two orders of A Fish Called Wanda (haddock). Wow, all the food was excellent matched with quick attentive service. Kudos to the kitchen and wait stuff. read more

Joined the waitlist a couple hours before wanting to eat (this was during prelude) & got in right at dinner time. We were sat upstairs, although downstairs looked much cozier & would've preferred to sit down there but had a nice view of the christmas tree from upstairs which was nice. Service was just okay although very busy so understandable. Food was great, I got the lobster bisque which was delicious and the baby fried shrimp which was also great and a huge portion so could definitely be a shared meal. Would come back again in the summer! read more

What a lovely lunch we had here! We got lucky and didn't have to wait. Our party of two was seated upstairs promptly and our waitress was great! The stairs are a bit steep coming back down, but there's a bathroom upstairs as well, so you won't have to navigate them but once. The place was light and airy and the noise level was relatively low, so we could still have a conversation. My friend's burger and fries were really good. The deviled egg potato salad was delightful! I had the trio of petite lobster rolls and they were great! I think the lemon one was my favorite. The lobster bisque topped one was a bit tricky to eat, but really good as well. THis dish does not come with a side for $39.99. The white sangria was so refreshing and tasty!! Definitely would go back! read more

I have been to Allisons many times over the last 10 years. I usually stick with the Lobster roll; However, I dared to try something different last night April 12, 2026. I tried the Seafood Risotto. This was the best meal ever. The Seafood was plentiful, especially the Lobster, full lobster tail and several full claws of lobster meat.,3 Jumbo shrimp and at least 5 scallops and 8 mussels. The Risotto delicious. If you like Seafood, you will love this. The price was worth it at 39.95. You will not be disappointed. read more

This restaurant has plenty of seating. Environment is nice too. They are clean and bright. They also have beer on tap. The item that I recommended the most is the lobster bisque lobster roll! Very innovative and the flavor was hearty and satisfying However, the other two lobster rolls that came together in the lobster roll trio was disappointing - the texture of the meat was not tender/the lobster was not the freshest. It's easy to find lobster roast better than the ones here in a beach town like this. The muscles were fresh and had a well balanced flavor. However, the muscles contain quite an amount of sand in it. Maybe this is out of the control of the restaurant - but what a pity to the customers Service was friendly and attentive . read more

Great service with large menu selection and good food. I was concerned that Alison's would be extra touristy, but was pleasantly surprised with our meal. Got lobster rolls but with butter- which I can't recommend here. Others got lobster roll trio- delicious and much better than plain with butter, and fried haddock which was enjoyed. Man what a disappointment. Not because the food wasn't good -- it was -- but because of a few glaring issues we had. We were seated upstairs with the other families with kids. I have no idea what the vibe of the main restaurant is but the upstairs feels like a cafeteria. Not great. We opted for a couple soft drinks to start. The Diet Coke tasted watered down and a little off. We had an app to start - the buffalo chicken dip was tasty and filling. For dinner we ordered the lobster trio, which was great at first. Then I bit down into what turned out to be a sharp triangle of lobster shell about the size of a penny. I pointed it out to our server and was met with, "It's part of the process, it happens sometimes. Well not that often. I'll tell the kitchen. Sorry." It felt handwavey for something that could've easily sliced open my mouth, especially when you pay nearly $40 for your entree. It unfortunately turned me off to the entire experience. read more

Not sure on the star ratings on this place. Our clam chowder and lobster bisque were mediocre at best. The lobster roll was decent. The fries were great. The place is huge. And our server was good. But with all other options in Kennebunkport not sure we would be back. read more

While on vacation in Maine, we drove down from Portland to take a history tour of Kennebunkport and needed a place to eat lunch first. We stopped in Alisson's because we had read about it, and it was right across from our tour's starting point. We walked in around noon and were seating upstairs in the front window. The room was a basic as can be, but what a great spot to watch the street below! Our server, Paula, was so friendly and buzzed around her tables with the ease of a seasoned server. She was great. We ordered the Mussels and the Fig and Brie sandwich with chicken. We were in Maine for 8 nights and had mussels 3 times and these, at this unassuming restaurant in Kennebunkport, were the best of the trip! The chicken on the sandwich was cooked perfectly and the flavors were great. The fries were good as well. This is a great spot to eat lunch in Kennebunkport. read more

Ehh. Walked in the door and the hostess didn't even say hi she just stared at us. I said do you have a table for three? She points to the one right by the front door (on a freezing winter day... and I had my 2 year old) and she says "hows that table" I said preferably not directly by the front door. Not a great first impression. I believe the scallops were frozen. Every single fried scallop breading came off when trying to eat them. Steamed lobster was good. Not sure it was 1 1/4 lb as advertised, seemed kind of small to me. Drinks poured light. They let us exit through the kitchen since we parked in the back. Saw a big tub of shrimp defrosting under faucet water, so clearly FROZEN. We were disappointed and won't be back. read more

For the entrees we shared a Petite Lobster roll Trio and the Seafood Risotto. As good as the lobster roll trio was, the Seafood Risotto blew it out of the water. We live in Kennebunk and have always enjoyed going to Alison's. Great vibe, courteous staff, and good food at a reasonable price. Tonight we went to grab a fish sandwich. Boy did we get sticker shock. We hadn't been in awhile and they obviously changed their menu. Both my husband and I had the fish sandwich (they changed the names of the items) one of us had potato salad and the other coleslaw. We both had soft drinks. Our bill, without tip, was $62.00. Previously, "A fish called Wanda" (haddock sandwich) was $18.95 the new "Fish-Ayearwood", the exact same sandwich is $24.95. I'm sorry but just about every restaurant in the area has a fried haddock sandwich and most of them don't charge that. Maybe the tourists don't mind paying but as a local...I'll go elsewhere. read more

The fish and chips dinner was a hit for three of our guests. The coating was crunchy and the fish was fresh. I didn't think it had much flavor but was assured that when dipped in tartar sauce they were great. The southwest salad looked underwhelming compared to others I have had but the spicy ranch helped kick up the taste. It was busy for a Monday but we are preseason so there was no wait. read more

Stopped here for our last lobster roll before flying home. It was quick service even though it was a typical sit down restaurant. The portions were decent even for the chowder and petite lobster roll selection. My one complaint is you can't get a hot buttered lobster roll, but you can get hot butter and a hot bun with cold lobster meat. read more

Great casual spot for drinks and dinner in Dock Square. It's been around forever and is nicely worn in and comfortable; feels like an old friend the first time you enter. We sat upstairs and it was pleasant and roomy. Great long list of beers on tap. Friendly service. I went for the Fish Called Wanda broiled haddock sandwich with slaw. Not exactly pick up friendly, I finished it knife and fork, but still a good lighter choice. Also made me realize that I'd had a remarkable number of really good slaw sides in Kennebunkport. Must be a local specialty to cozy up with all the fabulous lobster rolls in town. read more

I would and did drive a distance to dine here. Lobster Bisque is the best I've ever had and that's saying something. Fried scallops are delicious and the largest I've seen in the last several years. Great food, nice service, ambience and location. Edit: the website says that the restaurant is closed for renovations from Dec 30. We were passing through Kennebuckport and decided to stop to get some food. It was around 2:30pm on a Wednesday the week between Christmas and New Years. We were seated right away. We ordered the Blueberry Soda and the Ginger Soda. The blueberry one is very good! The ginger is good but spicy, it didn't go well with my food. For food we ordered Lobster Bisque and shared some Fish and Chips. The lobster bisque was delicious! It was my first time trying it and I'm in love!! The fish and chips were perfectly crunchy but the fish had no flavor. We had to add some salt, lemon and tartar sauce to eat it. Overall a good experience, great location. Just need some salt and pepper in those fish pieces to be perfect. I would come back. read more

Staying July 27 - Aug 1st, 2026 (5 nights) Things started badly from the second we approached the front desk. We arrived a little after 3pm on Mon. July 27, 2026 for check in (guest check in is between 3-9). We were told the room wasn't ready, no problem. Decided to grab a drink and wait outside, beautiful weather. Gorgeous area, directly across from the beach. Around 4:15pm we were told the room was ready. Great! We carried our luggage up and were ready to relax/shower before dinner. Walked in and were immediately hit with a VERY strong chemical smell. Sat down and started thinking this doesn't seem right. My eyes and throat started to burn. Seemed like something strong mixed with bleach. We opened the windows and decided it's best to ask the front desk for help. Went back downstairs and spoke with the manager - David. Very kind and tried his best to help with the odor. He informed us that all the rooms are filled, but he could try and air the room out with fans and get rid of the smell. Again no problem, things happen. Head back to the lobby to WAIT. Around 5pm (we still had the keys) my husband -Darren decided to go into the room and check it out. David greeted me as I was sitting on the sofa in the lounge/restaurant around the same time. He told me that the room was ready, he had let the room air out for the last hour. It no longer has the chemical smell, but it does kind of smell like the restaurant. That was strange, but at this point we just wanted to get settled. I got up and walked towards the stairs as Darren was headed back down. He informed me that the bleach and cleaning spray was still beyond strong. My husband is not usually affected by strong scents, and was getting a headache. I did not go back to the room, as I didn't want to get sick. Back to the front desk, told David that it is still very strong and he said that we should have informed them that we had an opposition to strong smells before arrival. I thought that was crazy, I've never had this problem at any hotel up here before. Now he has made us feel like we are being a problem for speaking up about the smell and voicing concerns about getting sick. We asked if we could change rooms for the night and he explained the hotel is fully booked. He would need to talk with the general manager - Bridget. So we sat back down in the lobby. By this time it was 5:15. We moved out to the porch and around 5:30 Bridget met us. She was very kind and understanding. Stated again that the hotel was fully booked, no rooms available and offered to cover a dinner as an apology during our stay. I looked online at some of the sister properties around town, that they market as "connected" with shared amenities and services. We have actually stayed at a couple previously without any issues. I suggested we changed to one of those, because they have availability for the dates of our stay. Now it's 6:15-30 or so. I was told I would have needed to have cancelled my reservations 14 days ago to make that happen, as the systems are not connected. What? We want to stay at Tides, that's why we booked here! Why would we cancel our reservation ahead of time? This chemical situation was out of our control when we arrived. She suggested that we could move into a different room just for the night and then switch back to a room in our category tomorrow. Perfect, that was totally fine. We were still made to feel like we inconvenienced staff for something that was out of our control. Brigette gave us the keys to room #305, we carried our luggage up and settled in at around 7pm (4 hours waiting in lobby to get everything figured out & into a room). The next day, around 12:15 #201 was ready. Checked back in around 3-3:30, took our luggage back up and settled in after our outing. Checking out this morning. Said "Good morning and told the women at the front desk we are checking out. She replied "Good morning, so did you enjoy THAT room?"... We nodded yes, said have a good weekend and left. What a kick in the teeth to end our stay. We both left sad and disappointed with that comment. The staff all knew that we asked to change rooms because of the smell? Service, cleanliness and feeling when in this hotel are way out of wack and terrible. This will be a one and done stay for us at Tides.

Hey, man, so picture this: We're in town, right? Just finished our groovy sailboat charter, and we got the munchies, dude! We needed a place to chow down, and this joint seemed promising, you know? Now, the outside vibes were charming, like the whole Kennebunkport thing going on. But once we stepped inside, whoa! It was like we teleported to a what seemed closer to a sports bar, man! Talk about a curveball! So, the food, man, it was your typical SAD stuff. You know, the Standard American Diet. But hey, they did throw in a few Maine staples, so that's cool, I guess. Now, here's the real buzzkill: the prices, man. We're talking more cash for the same grub we could've scored at a lobster pound outside of downtown. Ouch! I did order some steamers, and they were good, but nothing mind-blowing. And then I went all out, man, and got a whole lobster. It was decent, but I wasn't doing backflips over it, you know what I'm saying? Don't get me wrong; it was good. After all, it's lobster. But it was no better than the lobster that's half the price at a lobster pound. All in all, the food was alright, but not a total game-changer. Like, if I'm in town again, sure, I could hit this place up, but it ain't a must-visit, man. Now, here's the twist: the craft beer list, bro! It was extensive and exceptional! That's what kept the smile on my face, man. That beer selection might just make it worth the trip, you know? So, if you're cruising around and in need of a bite, this joint's got some pros and cons. A Disappointing Visit to Alisson's Restaurant Our recent visit to Alisson's Restaurant in downtown Kennebunkport was, unfortunately, a letdown. As someone with celiac disease, I was disheartened by the lack of gluten-free options. The only available choice was a gluten-free hamburger bun, which was unpalatably hard and tasteless. The ambiance of the restaurant was far from the quaint and cozy atmosphere we had anticipated. Instead, we found ourselves in a crowded and noisy two-level establishment. The initial confusion about seating, which had us climbing up and down the stairs, only added to our frustration. Eventually, we settled into a booth after declining the uncomfortable wooden stools offered initially. The service was mediocre at best. We experienced a significant wait for our food, which only compounded our disappointment. One of the salads we ordered came with chicken that was so poorly prepared we couldn't eat it. Thankfully, the waitress agreed to remove it from our bill. This left us with just a half-eaten salad and an overall unsatisfactory dining experience. She also got the port fries - the dips were great, the fries were crinkle cut, flavor was great but could be more crispy. My mother in law got a make your own personal pizza - average for most, below average for a New Yorker. My daughter got the Kraft mac and cheese - she finished all of it, which she does not always. I got the trio of lobster roll 1) the maine lobster roll - average, 2) the lobster BLT roll - good balance of flavors, can use more bacon, also needed to be crispier 3) lobster avocado salad roll - good roll, the avocado slice should be more ripened. We shared a lobster bisque - one of the best we have ever had a far as flavor. We also prefer the thicker creamy texture with lobster meat chunks. The service was friendly and welcoming. It is clear to me that one must be a either a tourist or a very rich person to get any respect from the hosting staff. My family visited the restaurant today, and were shocked when the hostess looked us up and down, noticed we did not own the priciest clothes, and proceeded to seat us in the worst lit corner in the building, isolated from anyone else eating there. If you choose to eat at this "establishment", be warned: you will be discriminated against by the snobbiest of hostesses with a misplaced sense of self worth. We visit Kennebunkport about 4-5 times a year and like to try different places each time. This time we decided for Alisson's ( Should have gone to the Pier 77 like last time).
