A Bee Gees cocktail for my wife and Local Punch #83 were perfectly balanced for strength, sweetness and flavor. Fresh marinated tomato starter was quite generous but too good to leave a single piece behind. House made pasta starred in the Pappardelle which was generously studded with garlic shrimp. My wife, a fish and chips aficionado, delighted in the flaky, crusty fish and perfect house tartar. Portion was sufficient for breakfast for both of us the next day, carefully packed by our server in a take-out box including condiments. Grand finale was a super smooth, tasty butterscotch pudding accompanied by limocellos for each of us. I was looking for a farm to table place and this one did not disappoint. I was seated right away. The service was wonderful. I had an amazing drink with tequila and spicy salt, probably one of the best drinks I've had all summer. I also treated myself to oysters from the local area, and they were great, 3 different varieties. I didn't love their vinaigrette, it was on the sweeter side and it wasn't my taste. I had the gnocchi with lobster was great, I especially loved the poached lobster in butter. Varying flavors. I was offer beignets and I could order less than what came in the order. I truly appreciated that I can less than what comes originally. I just got 2, instead of the five which I appreciated that, because I was just one person. Good meal and service. We made a Friday night reservation and the place was hopping. Excellent drink and mocktail list and I appreciate when free bread/oil is provided. Shared a crab cake app and it was delicious but very small for $14. I had the fresh pasta with confit chicken, sausage and peppers. Very tasty, but the pasta was a little gummy. We stopped by here just for drinks, so I can't comment on food. The vibe was very cozy, and the staff was super nice. As we watched the bartender make our two signature cocktails, ($15 each) she literally just poured them into a cup over ice out of a big juice jug. I'm assuming they batch the ingredients in advance, but for a restaurant of this size there is no reason to do that (coming from a bartender) and she didn't stir them or anything to dilute, so they were both very sweet and syrupy. The menus we were given to look over the food were both kind of dirty and very wrinkly. Both were odd given the price point, but the food smelled amazing and we will be back to try it! read more

Great place! We had a 7:15 reservation and arrived a few minutes early. Our table wasn't quite ready which is no biggie especially on a Friday night...what we liked is that the hostess put in our drink order and both were ready a few minutes later. They were as attentive all evening. We're slow to decide what to eat and take our time eating...we never felt rushed and glad we weren't as the food was really good! We started with the Mushroom parfait...Very unique and tasty. Then I had the burger with fries that was amazing and cooked exactly like I wanted it and my boyfriend had the halibut which was also very very good. For dessert we had the beignets with homemade ice cream and a glass of their homemade limoncello. If you have not eaten here, you really really should stop in. Upon entry, the staff was not very welcoming and I felt a bit shunned as they gave the runaround as to why we could not be seated. I'm a bit unsure of the reason, although we were the only brown skin customers upon entry and oddly all eyes were on us. The staff was pleasant and seemed like they were happy to be there. Apparently the owners must be treating the employees right. This restaurant needs to be on your go-to list. This place was poppin . Blake was our server and he took care of us. I can tell you that servers are exceptional when they hear their name vs "excuse me, excuse me." They know exactly where to turn when they hear their name. The food and ambiance was excellent. Reservations are required. Go at 5p and have the place to yourself. Get the salad with the poached egg on top. Perfect for the light eater or hot summer night. The crab cakes are served on a thick wooden paddle with spicy mayo and pickled onions. The cake itself is served as a meatball shape not as a cake/paddy. I had the mussel frites (that means fries served on top of the mussels) - ask for the frites on the side. ‍ If you're a bourbon drinker, and an old-fashioned doesn't tempt you, and you are feeling like you had a donkey kind of day? Ask for a mule, they'll make you one. Right on. They serve fresh hot bread out of the oven (at least at 5p they do) with oil and pepper too. The good: great food- good variety, well prepared, traditional, some nice seafood options, nice atmosphere and great bar seating. The bad: we had a server who left a whole lot to be desired. We needed to ask multiple times for things like ice, an ice bucket, drinks, and during every interaction he couldn't get away from our table fast enough. Now I know my name is Karen (LOL), but no one at our table was acting Karen-like at any point in the evening so I must assume it was just his style of operation. It did not serve him well. Other staff delivered our food to the table and were lovely to interact with. Once we had our food our server never once checked back to see if we needed anything and lucky for us we did not. We finally laid eyes on him again for dessert, put in our order and all was well until we received the check. We were overcharged $100!!!! It was very obvious that something was wrong just based on the fact that 4 people who ordered 3 $30 entrées, an $18 burger, a $50 bottle of wine, 2 cocktails, and 2 desserts would in no way have been able to push the bill to that amount. The mistake came from adding an extra zero to a $10 dessert. I'm not sure if this was the fault of the server or someone else ringing up the check, but I would think a good server might have noticed? Nonetheless when we pointed it out he was not in the least apologetic. This was the final straw for me. Anyway, we all really liked this restaurant other than having to deal with the above issues. still one of the best restaurants in the whole region farm to table. fast friendly service consistently fresh and well paired. the only reason for one less star than a perfect 5 is because take out is a little less special as they don't seem to be set up for folks staying in hotels. no salt/pepper, disposable plates, napkins, or utensils unless asked for and even then haphazardly made of box covers and paper towels. and the cheese plates on take out are constantly smaller portions and at least one or two cheese selections are terrible tasting unlike what you find in the restaurant. read more

Very cute little spot. I recommend the Fried Board (mozzarella fritters + haddock croquettes + arancini + pickles + pomodoro + house tartar) - the arancini was the best of them all in my opinion. Then you want to order the VERY delicious Mussel Frites (ME mussels + white wine + dijon + garlic + handcut potatoes). I've never met a mussel I didn't like and this dish did not disappoint. I went early due to some plans I made later and the vibe at that time (6pm) was very chill and laid back. Tended to be an older, quieter crowd. So nice that they put a carafe of water on the table along with a basket of delicious bread, olive oil, s&p. The oysters on the half shell were local & fresh. The chiabatta app was delicious. For mains we had haddock, noodle bowl with lobster and pappardel. The fresh pasta was definitely a favorite...so much flavor. Cocktails were very tasty aThe service was excellent with a friendly atmosphere...and not too loud. Update: we decided to get takeout this time. Online ordering was easy and our order was ready & waiting when promised. We got home and were anxious to try everything. Unfortunately, the ramen bowl was so spicy no one could eat it. Located on Main Street in downtown Kennebunk, 50 Local offers an assortment of cocktails and wine. Most of the wine glasses behind the bar are stemless, so I saw lots of white wine served in stemless glasses. I'm not a huge fan of that just because your hand warms the glass and the chilled wine. I ordered the Maine-Tucky Lemonade and really enjoyed it. It was tart, but in a good way. I also ordered the burger for dinner. It was tasty. The fries were thick cut and mushy inside. I waited about 10 minutes for the check since the bartender was off doing other prep. Although there was a server and the host just two seats away from me at the bar chatting who could have helped out. However, when the bartender did come back, he boxed my leftovers for me, so that was nice. The restaurant also offers cooking and cocktail classes that you can book through their website. Omg! What an amazing farm to table restaurant! On vaca for the week in Kennebunkport and this was by far the best food we had. Loved the ricotta toast - it was AMAZING! The honey and flowers really put it over the top. Oysters are a MUST! Cocktails were nicely balanced and delicious. I split the chicken with my daughter and she said it was the best chicken she ever had! Hubby had the burger and gave it a thumbs up! A bit much on the bun. We went last Friday. I can't tell you how upset I was. I love the atmosphere and the staff there but our food was just horrid. The shrimp cocktail came out smaller than normal and tasted like frost burn. My fried fish, which I loved before , tasted like yo was dipped in and out of oil multiple times. The tartar sauce taste like straight Mayo. My fiancés $35 dollar pork chop was smaller than my palm and the sides were raw and sour. We left and immediately went to get another meal. To start with, it's a nice comfortable room, mid-sized, with adequate room between tables so you don't feel like you're eating with your neighbors. I am sure this place gets overrun in the summer. Interesting menu of medium size, but with a good variety of options, but no steak, which is a fairly typical offering. Service was really terrible (and consistent with other reviews). Very slow on an uncrowded winter night, highly inattentive, forgetful, and minimally friendly bordering on rude (1 star service). I would guess it is very difficult to get solid, reliable, professional help in the winter in Kennebunk, but service was not up to par with what this restaurant seems to want to be. We decided to try this place while staying in Kennebunkport for a few days. The decor and ambiance was were cool. The food was very good. Recommend the Statler Chicken. However, the service was terrible. Took over 20 minutes to take our order. Appetizers were never brought to the table. Waited over an hour for entrees. Maybe it was just an off night for a Wednesday but the service really ruined the experience which is a shame because the food was very tasty. Our server tried to make amends by offering free desserts but we just wanted to get out of there at that point. read more

This trendy and hip place is a great night out whether as a couple or a group of friends. The menu is a solid mix of local seafood, hip new favorites and Asian inspired dishes. The cocktail menu is equally inspired and unique. My favorite I get every time I have been recently is the KM Sunshine. The smoky citrus salt keeps me coming back for another drink every time. For the crowd looking for simpler fair there is a burger on the menu and the local haddock is nicely prepared with lemon risotto and vegetables but is a simple preparation. For the more flavor adventurous there was a katsu steak on the menu when we were there. Among other Asian dishes were Udon Noodles and there also was a Raman bowl. For local seafood there was also a delicious lobster scampi made with house made tagliatelle. Really great variety and they keep the menu updated and fresh. A lot of locally sourced product respects local producers which is nice. Lastly-- dessert -- on this visit we got the house made sorbet. Props to restaurants that make house made ice cream and sorbet. The sorbet I got was berry and lavender. A nice combination but the lavender itself was the whole lavender seeds which were not very palatable. Definitely a place that is a local go-to. Disappointing! With so many rave reviews we took a drive to Kennebunk to dine. Atmosphere is great. Hostess & staff were wonderful, attentive, kind, not easy when the industry is experiencing so much turmoil and the middle of a tourist season. Oysters were a nice way to start. Great wine menu and eclectic beer offerings. The statler chicken dish was bland. Potatoes had no flavor, chicken was nothing special. Vegetables tasted decent but the gravy/sauce was grey goup. Mushrooms were the highlight of the dish. Udon noodles had a great presentation but the amount of soy!!!! It was like a salt lick! You could hardly swallow them. I ordered the KM Sunshine Cocktail (tequila, lime, tepache, hibiscus, and citrus salt), which I enjoyed too much as I quickly downed it and ordered another. The bartender was great providing a fresh basket of bread and olive oil as I waited for my Statler Chicken dish (creme fraiche whipped potatoes, marsala mushrooms, and local veggies). Wow! From the Chicken to the potatoes, mushrooms, and Veggies it was a perfect meal for a cold fall night. "Delicious home-cooked meal" is a high compliment and close comparison.
