It is just a place run by and for cat lovers. They are folks who truly understand and appreciate cats and all their quirks. I love going here! Dr. Barkley and Dr. Rataj are the most honest and kind vets I have ever visited. They communicate promptly about test results and inquiries via email and leave detailed texts when necessary as well. I appreciate that both she and Dr. Rataj are so open about sharing information. My husband and I always make comfortable, informed decisions. And their entire staff is stellar. Teri at the front desk is always friendly, helpful and fun (and purple!). Deb, Megan and Amanda really know my cat, Zumbie, and have all kinds of pet names for him. It means a lot to walk in and everyone is happy to see you and your cat! Recently, I had to put my cat, Jitters, to sleep due to a condition he was suffering from that had turned untreatable. Dr. Barkley explained clearly what the options were in a realistic and sympathetic manner. I felt secure about my decision to let Jitters go unlike some other unnamed vets I have used in the past. Teri came in before the procedure so I could get all the billing taken care of without having to stop at the desk on the way out. All About Cats sent me a wonderful card signed by the whole staff. I do not review places often but I have never had this great of an experience at any vet in my entire life. I was there for a check-up and to update my cat's rabies vaccine. I had an appointment at 9:00am and got there around 8:50. They immediately got me into a room and a vet tech saw me only a few minutes later to ask some questions and checked my cats weight and heart rate etc. Not too long after the vet came in to see me and addressed any issues I had or anything he considered concerning. I felt like he truly cared about my kitty's wellbeing. I was in and out of there in around 30-45 minutes and was not kept waiting in the room for longer than 5 minutes. Not only were they quick but they were so gentle and kind to my cat which in return made my cat calmer and less stressed compared to any other vet I have been to. 5 STARS IS NOT ENOUGH! My long-time vet retired last year (that's a weird feeling....the person you've entrusted your beloved fur kids to suddenly not there anymore)! Knuckles (aka "The OG") is an AWESOME cat. Got him at the Multco Animal Shelter and he came with a few.....er.....issues. The biggest one is dermatitis (think severe eczema but with missing patches of fur involved). He's been through more exams and allergy treatments than I can explain, so obvi, Knuckles' vet care is pretty important for me. A few months ago the OG started losing vast expanses of fur and developed lesions. I took him to Guardian vets. That turned out to be a disastrous fit for reasons I won't go into. I remembered I'd heard of All About Cats when I lived in Hillsboro, so I did an internet deep dive on the clinic and its vets. Thumbs up! I called and made an appointment, which was this morning. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ALL ABOUT CATS. I almost can't believe I got lucky enough to find them! This morning, Knuckles was seen by Dr. Rataj and awesome vet tech, Megan. They spent as much time as I needed getting a detailed history, asking lots of questions, listening to the answers and giving Knuckles a thorough examination. In all the years I've been going to vet clinics I've honestly never had such a warm experience. They are clearly skilled in general feline care, but also in the less common ailments of cats (like balding, eczema cats who think much of themselves). I am more relieved than I can describe! We recently adopted two kittens, and were given the contact info for several vets that offered a free office appointment for adopted pets. Alas, none of the vets on the list (including All About Cats,) actually turned out to be taking new patients at the moment, due to the recent uptick in pet adoptions. But the person who answered the phone at All About Cats, Tina (a Vet Tech) was EXCEPTIONALLY kind and helpful. She gave fabulous advice about feline vaccines and foods, and answered all my questions. After spending (wasting) years of taking my cats to big corporate veterinarian offices I stumbled upon this gem of a veterinary clinic. I found All About Cats Clinic when my cat (Ponce De Leon) was having problems with kidney function. I had taken Ponce to the big vet clinic down the street and they told me he needed surgery and it was going to cost me an arm and a leg. Nobody wants to weigh costs when thinking about the health of their furry family but if Ponce was to have surgery this was a very real dilemma. Instead of jumping right into surgery (the only option I was provided) I decided to seek a second opinion. Enter Dr. Dave Rataj and the amazing staff at All About Cats. Dr. Rataj was friendly, thorough, informative and I could tell that he really cared about what happened to my cat. Unlike the big clinic I went to originally Dr. Rataj provided me with options and a plan that didn't immediately jump to an expensive surgery, in fact surgery (as it should be) was our last option. Dr. Rataj's course of action worked and we avoided an expensive surgery and the horrible alternative if I was unable to afford said surgery. Ponce is as healthy and active as ever and I have Dr. Rataj and the staff of All About Cats to thank. When you're looking for a vet with knowledge, experience, kindness, compassion and ethics look no further than this clinic. Not only did I save a ton of money (by not being forced into surgery) but I saved my cat. I can't recommend this clinic enough, in fact I have recommended it to all my friends with feline family and it's agreed that they're the best. I brought my little 11 year old girl in to see the doctor after 3 years of her having a terrible green mucus filled nose all of the time. She had been on Clavomox off and on throughout the 3 years, but it just didn't do the trick... she would start to have the mucus go away but only after about 12 days of clavomox , which was two sets of the drug,,,she was miserable,,if she wasn't stuffed up she was sneezing. She would sneeze 20 times in a row. I felt like I wasn't being a good mom since I couldn't fix her. I really like the clinic and folks at the clinic I had taken her too for the past 11 years, my kitty just wasn't getting any better. I decided to try a doctor that specialized in cats. My husband called and spoke with the folks at All About Cats,,,they ordered her old records, squeezed me in that day,,,, by the time I got there the doctor had already gone over her records. After discussing Bonnie's problems and the doctor asking a lot of questions and answering a lot of my questions, we decided to do a titer for fungus and start her on a new antibiotic that she had never tried before. After the first two days of the 11 days that she would be taking this new medication the green mucus was almost nonexistent!!!! It has now been day 9 since she started the antibiotics and ALL of the mucus is gone, she's bright eyed, energetic and happy. I haven't seen her like this for over 3 years!!! She sleeps all night, isn't sneezing at all and just seems like a totally different kitty.... she even plays with her toys which she never did for the last 3 years! THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking an interest in my girls problems and helping her. I will recommend your establishment to everyone!!! The doc must have spent 45 min with us, had blood drawn and was give medication to take home, yet the bill was very responsible. The absolute best place to bring your feline friends ever. I've always been a little hesitant when it comes to veterinary clinics. I treat them similarly to how some treat mechanics. Basically, trying to milk me for all they can for things my cat truly doesn't need. This clinic has put me completely at ease, and I trust them implicitly. The entire office has a calm and contained feeling to it and all of the vet techs, receptionists, and people who work there exude that same sense of safety and comfort. The real all star (not to say the others aren't, they are, trust me, everyone is great here) is Dr. Dave Rataj. Whether my cats have been visiting in sickness or in health, he is always polite, friendly, and respectful of my time and money. It always feels like a conversation with him, rather than a sales pitch. He lets me know what options I have for my beloved cats, and what he feels is best but lists alternative options to. I also have some experience working with animals in the past and he is always respectful when listening to my own thoughts or correcting any misunderstandings I may have cultivated (I'm not a vet, but I know a thing or two!). Seriously, I could go on, but this place is everything I could hope for in a clinic. The fact it really is ALL ABOUT CATS makes it even better. My cats Tiger Lily and Ty'Lorin couldn't be in better hands and I plan to continue to take any future generations of felines to this location! Best vet ever! I love this clinic. I adopted a kitten two months ago who had a hard time getting adjusted in his new home - came down with a kitty cold (upper respiratory infection) and was in terrible shape. He was so tiny and little and sick that I was worried something awful would happen. Dr. Rataj was the best and answered all of my questions and would call throughout the week to check on the little one. He even took a look at him when had had a completely booked schedule just to make sure my baby was ok! I also love that this is a space just for cats, so my kitten wouldn't get freaked out by any loud or large dogs in the waiting room. read more

My little Scottish fold was just spayed chipped and had another round of shots yesterday. Perfection from every angle.. less than 24 hrs later cat is happy to be home and personality the same even with recent surgery. Recommended to all cat owners. I moved to Hillsboro last May, and took my cat here for an initial exam, and to get her ears checked for mites. She was pretty feisty during the exam - took 2 people to hold her down - but they were really nice about it. They sent me me on my weigh (hahah) with a weight loss program and some good feeding tips, as she was, um,....a *few* pounds overweight. My most recent visit at the end of September was unfortunately due to a deeply infected laceration we still don't know the source of. They got her in for an appointment the morning I called. They did surgery that day, and I was able to pick her up by 4:00. They did try to sell me a few things at the counter, which I wasn't really in the mood for, as I was already shelling out almost $600 for surgery, shots, and anesthesia. But the lady at the counter was super nice and friendly. I called when I noticed they charged me more than the amount they told me earlier that afternoon, and they nicely refunded the difference. They didn't charge for the follow-up visit to get the stitches out, and the wound has healed up perfectly, and kitty is down one pound since April, yay. PS. I love that they don't mind if I bring my cat on a leash or in a towel burrito instead of a crate (just works better for her) :o) read more

Switched to this spot after moving here from out of state. Everyone is very friendly and it can be fairly easy to get an appointment. Unfortunately when I adopted 2 new kittens they were sick and caused my older cats to also get sick so I have spent more time here in the last year than I would have liked. It is definitely a place I would recommend. I like how the doctors actually seem to listen to you and spend time answering questions unlike some places I have been where they seem to work on volume. Another plus side is it is located next door to Boba Licious and you can grab a milk tea or halo halo as a nice treat. read more

It was determined Lav needed dental work and at her age of 14, I was very concerned about the potential risk of having the work done. It was around 8:20am when I noticed my 3 year old grey cat squatting funny in the litter box. He was in there a long time and nothing came out of hiem. I was about to yell at him for peeing on my calendar I left on the living room floor, but then he let out a long cry...not the angry kind....but the in pain kind of cry and he got into the squat position again in the living room. I immediately took this as a sign of him telling me something was wrong. I live super close to Dr. Minor's clinic so that's who I figured to call first. At first the receptionist said we could come in at 10am, then I told her how awful in pain my kitty was sounding and that he was trying his hardest to pass urine or bowels...then she knew it had to be bad so she said, "Oh no, okay let's squeeze you in at 8:45am." I was soooo grateful for their flexibility. I got him to the clinic. Dr. Minor and nurse Tina were wonderful with my very skiddish, shy cat. He let them check him every where and pet him with no problem. Dr. Minor noticed that my cat had major backup/blockage, there was so many crystals in his tract that nothing was coming out. They kept him overnight with a catheter in him to flush his system out and I picked him up Saturday morning. Dr. Minor and his staff gave him wonderful attention and care. My kitty came home happy and eating and drinking his water and using the litter box pain free thanks to the urinary canned foods and meds. The total for everything, visit/procedure/overnight...etc...came to around $500-600. Thank Dr. Minor and staff! I love your passion for cats and their well being. :) read more

We were very pleased with the care Dr. Minor and his assistant gave our cat, Tiger. He was thorough and gentle while performing the exam. The "patient" room and lobby were clean and didn't smell like "cats". We are new patients and with that in mind, he also gave us emergency numbers to call after hours, if necessary. When I brought my fur-baby here I had a list of questions and was concerned about the respiratory problems he was having. After a bad experience with a certain veterinary clinic on 185th street I went to All About Cats and was very pleased with their knowledge of feline asthma and allergies. The clinic is clean and has a warm hearted spirit about it. The staff and doctor were so attentive to my girl who was vey sick. When she passed away they sent me a card with condolences in the mail which was a kind and thoughtful way to acknowledge a painful time. I have been to several clinics and hospitals with my cats but All About Cats Clinic is BY FAR the best clinic I have gone to. The doctor and all stuff is extremely compassionate and kind to me and my furr babies. They answer ALL my questions and concerns without seeming frustrated like I have experienced before in other clinics. We've been owned by a variety of feline furbabies now for almost 40 years and All About Cats is simply the best of the best when it comes to veterinarians and their support staff. We have been going to this clinic for about 15+ years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. We recently had to say goodbye to our sweet snowshoe boy, Louie with the help of Dr. Rataj. I have never been able to stay in the room for a euthanasia until this time, when I felt I needed to be there for my "boy". Dr. Rataj took his time, and softly, gently explained the whole process to us from start to finish in terms that put me at ease and had me feeling that our decision was the right one and I could "do this" for Louie. Every step of the way, Dr. Rataj gave us private moments to sit with Louie and hold him as he "fell asleep". He never once made us feel rushed or pressured, and we could tell that it was so difficult for him and his vet tech Tina as well. The tenderness, compassion and dignity they gave Louie and us was overwhelming and greatly appreciated. When having to take our other cats in for vaccines, check ups or medical care, Dr. Rataj and the whole staff from front desk to back have always been kind, polite,professional, knowledgeable, non-judgmental and having the best bedside manners ever. He never rushes us, always answers our questions extensively and in terms we can understand, and presents several options for care when needed, ranging from basic care to more extensive depending on the needs. Never any pressure to test, test, test but always looking out for the best interests of his patients. He is re-assuring, yet realistic and I trust Dr. Rataj implicitly. This vet is EXCELLENT, and totally loves cats. What a pleasure to bring my cats to a place not filled with stinky barking dogs, as it is traumatic enough to bring your cat in for care. One of my cats had surgery, Not only did the vet go over the whole procedure beforehand, but he called immediately following the surgery and described in detail how it went, how my cat did, even showed me the fatty tumor he removed. I have had cats my entire life, almost 60 years living in eight different states, and never had such a wonderful vet, a true gem! read more

We had a very sick "kitty" with an undertimened thoracic infection. We were referred to Dr. Minor by an emergency vet to be the day time doctor as our kitty was in need of IV fluids/antibiotics around the clock. Dr. Minor provided complete care for the days and the emergency doctor took over at night. The dual team was what saved our "kitty" (20 lbs. of Maine Coon). Dr. Minor knows cats and I'm thankful we found a top notch vet. I'd highly recommend him. His staff is wonderful as well. read more
