I contacted Cornell Road Veterinary Clinic because I was looking to establish primary care for my puppy, who has a been dealing with some ongoing health issues, and is already followed by an internal medicine specialist. Since specialists cannot serve as a primary veterinarian, and Cornell Road Vet clinic stated on their website they were taking new patients, I read about their specific Veterinarians and found that one whose profile highlighted an interest in internal medicine, which would be helpful in our specific case. When I first called, I asked to schedule directly with that veterinarian. I was told that they typically did not see new patient evaluations, but that I could make my first appointment and establish care with another doctor and potentially switch later. Since I had already done my research and wanted a veterinarian who would be comfortable collaborating with my puppy's specialist, that solution didn't make much sense to me. I was told that my request would be discussed with the specific veterinarian I wanted to see my pup and that someone would get back to me regarding scheduling. Unfortunately, no one ever followed up. After two weeks of hearing nothing, I had to call the clinic myself to get an update. During that call, I had to re-explain my puppy's medical history and the reason for my request all over again. The whole conversation was a bit disorganized but to that staff member's credit, she did follow through and spoke with the veterinarian that same day. I received a call within a few hours informing me that they would not be taking my puppy as a patient. What was most frustrating was not the decision itself but the lack of communication and the wasted time. Had someone simply informed me of that decision when I first called, or even followed up within a reasonable timeframe, I could have spent those two weeks finding another primary care veterinarian willing to work with a dog who has ongoing medical needs. I was also confused because the clinic's website indicates that they are accepting new patients, which creates an expectation that you can establish care there but instead, I spent two weeks waiting for an answer that never came until I initiated a follow-up myself only to find out they would not schedule us. My experience left me feeling that my time was not respected and communication throughout the process was disorganized and inconsistent. read more

We were new to the area and found this vet through a web search. Before our first appointment, we already knew our beagle had a serious knee issue, and after surgery with Dr. Gordon, she is doing fantastic. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. One thing I especially appreciated was that Dr. Gordon was very honest and reasonable about costs. He did not recommend excessive or unnecessary treatments simply to increase expenses, which meant a lot to us. We truly felt that his recommendations were based on what was best for our dog. Dr. Larrison referred our beagle to Dr. Gordon for the knee surgery. He gave a very comprehensive evaluation of both of our pets -- honestly, far better than the care they had received in the past. I request him when I schedule appointments. My only complaint was that it felt like forever to get our puppy's new patient appointment on their calendar (she was the first appointment we ever made that established us at the clinic). However, after that initial visit, everything has been very quick and efficient, including follow-up appointments with the doctors for all our pets. Definitely worth the initial wait. Overall, I think their team is very caring and provides quality care at competitive prices. read more

Three years ago I had moved to the area and was in need of a good vet. Like searching for a good doctor for yourself, it was hard to find good care for my little mutt Fiona {aka Fionabear, aka Nana, aka Tha 'il Nana, ). Reviews in the area were mostly negative, but had to look past that and give someone a try. First call, and I believe I recall speaking to Andi. She was answering calls, and setting up appointments. Whom is still there and seems to love working there. She's been very accommodating with everything from picking up medications and scheduling appointments with ease. Fiona first started out seeing Dr Thompson, and later we worked with Dr Shoberg as Nana got older. With Dr Thompson, she showed great care during the times Fiona was healthy. She basically was treating her with a general 'wellness' plan; Performed routine exams, blood work, shots, nail maintenance, and more in order to keep Fiona in good shape. Whenever Fiona got sick, I also trusted her diagnosis and treatment. As my lil' mutt got older and started losing weight, Dr Shoberg took over and we knew the end was near. But with both vets, they exuded compassion in helping us figure out what my be wrong with our Fiona. What steps to take next, and how much it cost up front. Exams or veterinary specialist can be expensive, but it's a drop in the bucket when it comes down to saving or extending your pets' life. Thank you Dr Thompson, Dr Shoberg, Andi, and staff for taking care of Fiona over the years, and until the end (RIP Nana: May 1st, 2023). read more

Dr. Gordon was an informative and sympathetic vet who pushed what was best in a truly kind way. I went in to have my cat put down drunk off my ass, which I wouldn't recommend to anyone; I didn't even recommend it to myself; it cheapened it, or it would have if there was anything good about putting down my beloved pet and if he wasn't used to my failure to handle stressful moments sober and my extreme regard for him regardless. But anyway, I was behaving like a loser and I was actually losing and Dr. Gordon was never anything but respectful and nice to me above and beyond what I deserved. I had some dumb idea about doing the injection myself, but he managed to talk me out of it in one sentence with no perceived loss of face to me. Aside from treating me abnormally well, he treated my cat well. He held him like he had feelings even after he was dead (I know because I burst in rudely to make sure) and he is an example of someone who cares for animals in every way, owners being part of them. The doctor who saw us before he could was also extraordinarily kind and I would like to express appreciation to her, but I do not remember her name. The receptionist was also great, telling me about the apple orchard for my pet's ashes in a considerate way, but I don't know her name either. Thank you. If you have to do a hard thing with a pet, even if you don't know how shamefully you'll behave when you do, you Will know that this group of people will not let you nor your pet down. read more

I went to Cornell Road Vet Clinic for over 20 years when I was showing and breeding Persians. I thought they were the best. HOWEVER since I quit having so many appointments (due to no longer breeding, showing, getting shots, airline shipping approval, etc.) I am terribly disenfranchised with them. In the beginning, when it was just the two vets, I got excellent service. After they moved to the Cornell road location I got lousy service. But a couple things they did sent me on the hunt to find other vets. #1 when I desperately needed to bring my Toy Poodle in I called and asked for an emergency appointment and was turned away saying they didn't have the time to see her, She was in pain and couldn't move either of her back legs and I SOOO depended on these vets to see her. Another time I asked for a prescription for eye drops and they never acknowledged or returned my request even after I asked on more than one occasion. And another time my car had a light on and I was afraid to start it - the vet said "I'm a vet not a mechanic".... so very rude. I NEED A VET I CAN RELY ON.... I found out that these vets do not have customer loyalty. I was very sad to no longer be able to rely on them. read more

They've always been very good when explaining our dog Lucky's issues. He was born with a respiratory problem. Dr. Gordon explained it well, telling us Lucky would very likely get increasingly better with time. He takes care to explain things clearly and realistically. We used this veterinary clinic for our two dogs, Tod and Copper. They are always friendly and professional, they have appointments available in a reasonable time frame and the price is fair (all vet care is expensive!). The vet always takes the time to answer all your questions and explains any procedures or needed vaccinations or exams. Even during Covid with all the challenges that raised they got us in right away when we had two sick dogs, and they will accommodate seeing them together if we prefer! Been going here for some time.... Recently we had to put our pup Cash down I couldn't go into the office to take care of the paper work, to difficult... The office was able to email and take my pymt over the phone.. Really made things so much easier and less pain.. Dr Keith Gordon came to our home, beings the circumstances although were very emotional for all of us Dr Keith Gordon made everything so comfortable.. He explained everything prior to moving forward, loved on Cash petting him while explaining to us and our kids what the process was and what to expect. Dr Gordon was amazing getting me through deciding whether or not to let my Maizie go. Numerous phone calls just to check on her, reassure me, and try different things. In the end, it was her time to go even though I wasn't ready. He didn't make me feel like a horrible person for letting her go.... even though I still have guilt. Her quality of life was destroyed. She is running with her big brothers, Hickory and Jackson, up in Heaven. I appreciate this who care for my four legged babies more than they will ever know! read more

My family has been using this Veterinarian Clinic for a a few years. They are patient and caring. It's a nice modern facility. The only reason I give it 4/5 is because it is a higher priced Vets office! I will say, I've gone to the cheap offices before. We've had great experiences with this clinic and have really appreciated the precautions they have taken during COVID times to keep everybody safe. They are extremely responsive and kind. We switched from our previous vet about two years ago and find this one much more reasonably priced and we feel the service is much better. We've seen a few doctors, all of whom have been great, but have to give a special word of gratitude for Dr. Shoberg. Multiple times now she has called me after hours, on what I must assume is her own personal time, and talked to me for 10-20 minutes in detail about my dog and her recommendations for him. I never write reviews but had to for this clinic because they were so accommodating and amazing. I went for a first ever appt during covid and the doctor came to my car to talk / grab the paperwork. Dr. Markusen was incredibly kind and thoughtful. She listened to my concerns and gave advice then took my dog to get his shots. I didn't feel rushed and she answered every question I had thoroughly. I can tell the staff truly loved animals and helping others. My bill was inexpensive as well and everything was contactless. A flawless experienced that I highly recommend. read more

My boyfriend and I just moved here from Los Angeles, and we were really keen on finding a great veterinary hospital. I happen to find this one on Yelp, and decided to give them a call. One of the gals I spoke too was so kind and helpful and gave me the run down on what to expect and what I needed to bring with me. They are located right off Cornell road, a little ways passed the airport. It's a very clean facility and everyone at the front desk is unbelievably nice. Cornell Road Vet is awesome. We have been taking our 2 small dogs here for about 3.5 years now (when they were still in their old Walnut Street location). We have seen both Dr. Gordon and Dr. Markusen and they are both great. They are very caring, talk you through everything, and offer lots of options. The prices are reasonable. All of the staff are great, too! One of my crazy dogs is super afraid of going to the vet for some reason (she's a rescue, bad experience previously?). Even if she just went potty, she will inevitably pee and poo at some point during the vet visit. Every single staff member who has experienced this joy has been super nice about it and they always rush to clean it up. In our experience, they always have appointments available very quickly (typically within a day or so), and in an emergency they will fit you in immediately. read more

I recently took my cat here for euthanasia, and it will be a lovely memory for me. Two small touches were so comforting -- a soft blanket on the exam table, and a box of Kleenex close to hand. I had some time in the room alone with my pet, and was able to comfort both him and me, and he was clearly calm and happy. The vet was very loving toward him and we petted him together for a bit, and then she anesthetized him and wrapped him in a blanket and took him away. My husband took our pup there for an initial exam and an assessment of her mouth (she has overgrown gums along with a couple of nodes). He says, "Pepper got comfortable with Dr Gordon and Dr Gordon explained everything to me. He was very patient and down to earth. There wasn't even a little bit of a 'salesman,' just a good ol fashioned caring Vet. He spent a very good amount of time explaining things and getting to know Pepper. I never felt rushed by him at all." We are extremely happy with the care we have gotten so far and Renee at the front desk is SO nice and helpful. The entire staff seems to genuinely care for patients and their nervous parents! And to be practical about it, the prices they charge are FAR AND AWAY cheaper than other vets...especially those chain type places. We have a scheduled surgery on Feb 10th to remove the nodes and cut away some of her overgrown gums. I will post an update in the near future. read more

We have been struggling to find a good vet for some time now. Thanks to a much-needed referral to Cornell Road, we are very happy to say we are finally done looking. This is really a great place. It's a bright, open, newer state-of-the-art clinic that strikes the perfect balance: the environment is simple, clean, and professional and the staff is warm, capable, and caring. It's clear they are all dedicated professionals who take working there seriously (I'm so tired of being greeted by somebody's daughter just passing the time between classes). We saw Dr. Gordon and could not have been more impressed. He is everything you hope to find in a doctor. We feel like our pets are in great hands now and are so relieved to be able to say that. We're also glad to be able to share our recent run of good luck in finding the right people and recommend places like this to others who may still be searching. Can't tell you how impressed I was with the entire experience. I saw dr. Larrison and felt so comfortable with how he interacted with my dogs baylah and jet. My Doberman is nervous in general and they both did great. Very thorough examination and was told what to look out for in my specific breed. Very knowledgable doctor. They are very friendly and professional; they will give you all of the recommended treatments but also let you know what is not necessary a have-to (if that makes sense). Despite being booked for the next week, they were able to fit me in between surgeries as a first time customer with two cats (one of which had an eye infection). The front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful. The doc himself was also very pleasant and explained in great detail the health of my cats and the potential causes and treatment of the eye infection. I have to ding them a star for being a little behind the tech (the last vet I dealt with made full use of the internet for communication, scheduling, etc) and having a loud environment - The doors slamming even made me jump, I can only guess how it freaks out the animals. Despite those dings (really, I'd only take away half a star if I could), I'll certainly be back and recommend CRVC highly. Also, be aware that even though office hours start at 7:30am, they don't start answering phone calls until 8am (but do take messages if you call off-hours). read more

I've had nothing but positive experiences here. They've been great about squeezing in quick visits and I feel like my pooch is always treated well. On that first note, I'm really pleased with how easy it has been to get in on short notice. In fact, it's the main reason I'm giving that 5th "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" star. My only gripe is how difficult it is to find the place as you're cruising down Cornell. Seriously, slow down as you approach because you can't see the turn until you're right on top of it. This isn't necessarily CRVC's fault, and it's not that big of a deal once you've been in a few times. read more

We took two of our kitties there last night for the first time. The staff was very friendly and even gave our kitties catnip and treats (including dental food to try at home). Both kitties were relaxed and great with the staff and we will be back. They talked over vaccinations with us and with them being indoor kitties didn't just say they needed every vaccination like other vets in the area have just to make an extra buck. We will be back with our third kitty because they seem to have a great place for our kitties here! read more

I moved to the area and needed to find a new vet (never a fun thing to do). The first thing I love about this office is their hours. Usually I'm limited to Saturday's at most vet offices, which is always hard to get an appointment, since I'm sure there are many like me who cannot go during 8-5pm hours. So, I'm grateful they have hours to late evening. Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly, but business-like. I like that they have a grass area in the back for what I call "stress peeing". I was scheduled with Dr. Larrison for my initial check-up appointment. He was great with my dog. I like when vets get to their level to introduce themselves or give them their vaccinations (on the table is okay too, it just shows compassion when they get on the ground - on their level). When my dog was sick, I was able to bring him in and drop him off so the doctor could see him at some point. Considering it was last minute, I had to go to work, and I didn't want to go to an ER vet, I'm grateful to have that option. They gave me options and didn't push one or the other, but informed me what I would find out with each procedure. I've been to vets where they push procedures to line their pockets, Cornell didn't do that and that is the true test in my opinion. Overall, great office. I even recommended it to a colleague and she seems happy too. One last item, because I was a new client, I typically bring my vet records (from other vets). However, I had found out that they called my previous vet to get the records without me asking if they could do that. Awesome! One less thing for me to worry about. And that is why they're great. I don't have to worry and I know my pups are in good hands. read more

These guys are the best, not the usual up sell speeches like so many of the big corporate greed vet clinics. They lay out the options and let you decide what is best, and never try to guilt you into unnecessary procedures. My only issue with them is that it can sometimes take a few days to get an appointment, but it's usually not an issue. read more
