    Cupcake Jake at the beach.

When our old vet was unable to fit our dog in for sick visits, we transferred care to Mountainside. Our old vet was less than 5 minutes away, and Mountainside is 18-30 minutes away depending on traffic. And still, I'd make the switch a thousand times over. The staff and vets at Mountainside are the best. They always fit us in when it's important and make my anxious pit mix (Cupcake Jake) feel loved and appreciated. Over the last year, they helped Jake vomit up a fuzzy rainbow candy-shaped toy that he swallowed whole and let marinate in his stomach for 1.5 weeks; they removed a large amorphous tumor from his chest; they got him on meds to treat his anxiety so he could sleep through the night; and they referred me to an excellent specialist when his tumor required advanced care. I never feel like they pressure me into unnecessary testing or treatments. I trust what they tell me. I could not ask for anything more from a vet clinic.

Took my pup here trying to find a new vet for her. The clinic was great, all the staff were so kind and helpful. My pup got lots of hypoallergenic treats and was so comfortable that she laid down in the exam room (a very big deal for a generally nervous pup). Their exam fee was reasonable and I'm glad to have established care. The one note I have is for those who might be looking for a dental exam for their pet, the quote we received was higher than other places I've checked with, but definitely satisfied with the care.

We are so pleased with the quick and flexible response and excellent care provided by Mountainside Vet. Two times in the last month we have called for acute "non-emergency" issues, but still needing urgent care. We have been seen within minutes after calling for assistance and received care immediately. So impressed and truly feel that they care about our pet's well being. Also, we have received follow up calls from the Vet to see that our pet has responded to their treatment. What is most impressive is that this office appears to be very BUSY, with the phone ringing off the hook while in the waiting room, and still receiving this level of care. AWESOME

The folks here are top notch. They have given our dogs (Bert and Erne) superior care both on routine visits and emergencies. Read all the other glowing reviews and know that it is 100% accurate. Mountainside Veterinary Hospital rocks !!

Our 4 girls moved from Las Vegas, NV to Tigard, OR. This is the last day they were in our Vegas home. Off to a new life and vet!

We relocated from Las Vegas, NV to Tigard, OR. We needed to find a vet that was close by and one that could take all 4 of our girls. We found a local vet in Beaverton - for our initial vet care. When we moved, we found Mountainside Veterinary Clinic was close by. It was time to transfer care closer to home. We spoke with Margaux who was delightful, who helped us with ease! The time spent to complete 4 new patient transfers took 20 mins. Pretty quick by my standards. While Mountainside Veterinary Clinic is fairly new, I can only rate the ease of our new patient transfer. We look forward to taking our girls here!

    My dog's infected anus.

RUN! Do not walk, but run away from this place to another vet--ANY VET--to get proper care for your beloved pet! Incompetence doesn't even begin to describe the vets here. I brought my Shihtzu in to be examined because her rear end was driving her crazy and she couldn't stop licking it. They expressed her anal glands, which they said were extremely full, and said she'd be fine. She continued to frantically lick her tear end all night and the next day. I called them to let them know that she was still very upset and they told me to give her some Benadryl. She continued to be bothered by her rear end, so instead of calling again, we stopped in, since they are nearby, and another vet examined her now RED and SWOLLEN anus and offered some 'ointment' to be applied externally. I asked if she needed antibiotics because this seemed to be an infection and I've had a Shihtzu before whose anal glands had become so impacted that they created an infection, and the vet said that despite the red swollen appearance that she didn't think my ShihTzu needed any antibiotics. So I took the ointment and began applying it immediately. It is now *4 days later,* and my ooor dog is lethargic and won't eat so I texted the vet again asking if I could come by and pick up some antibiotics and told them all this information and how she is becoming despondent. They wanted me to make ANOTHER appointment to bring her into see a THIRD vet, bc 'they were quite certain this was 'just an inflammatory reaction and that she didn't need antibiotics.' I mean *how sick does your poor pet have to be to deserve medication?! unbelievable. I told him if I was taking my dog to another vet for this issue it would most certainly not be them! I mean, does this look like an infected butthole to you? I took this photo two days ago and faxed it to the vet.

Dr. Ghitea's veterinary services were always excellent and reasonable. I always walked away feeling that my animals were well taken care of without it costing me a bundle. One time, Dr. Ghitea pulled some rotten teeth from my dog without even charging me. He took excellent care of my Samantha (cat) over the years, and I believe she made it to 20 as the result of his care. When my beautiful Samantha was on her last days, Dr. Ghitea comforted me and told me the truth that it would not be long saving me from spending money that wouldn't prolong her life any longer. Sadly, Samantha passed away about a week later in my arms although she had a wonderful life. Today was brutal. We…read morefirst came here because two people we know and love have used them and had amazing things to say. Our dog has a possible bowel obstruction, so we were told to take her to the emergency room. We arrived around 1:50 p.m. When we came in, we were greeted and put into a room within a couple of minutes. Someone came in, examined our dog, talked with us for a few minutes, and then explained that she wasn't in critical condition. They told us there were several pets in critical condition ahead of her, which we completely understood. She gave us a few options for waiting because it was going to be about a two-hour wait. Since we don't live in this city--we live in Oregon City--we decided to go to a nearby dog park. Traffic was starting to pick up, and getting back across I-205 later would be difficult if we left and returned. They told us they would call when they were ready to see her, so we headed to the dog park. Around the two-hour mark, traffic was starting to die down, so I called to see if they needed us to stay nearby or if we could head home and wait there. The woman on the phone told us we were fine to go home and that they would call when the doctor was ready to see our dog. We were happy with that plan. It was a very hot day, and even with air conditioning, a black car gets hot. We headed home around 4:50 p.m. At 8:25 p.m., I received a call. The woman said, "Hi, this is ______. The doctor is ready to see your dog now. How long until you can be here?" I explained that our son was getting ready for bed and that we lived in Oregon City, but we could be there in about 30-35 minutes. She said, "Great," and we headed that way. We actually arrived just 21 minutes after receiving the call. We were taken to a room and told the doctor would be right in. Fast forward over an hour--not one person came in to speak with us. Nobody checked on us. Nobody popped their head in to let us know they were running behind or that something more urgent had come up. There was absolutely no communication. Honestly, that was the worst part. By this point, it was 9:50 p.m., and we hadn't even been checked on. We were exhausted. I stepped out into the waiting area and found nobody there except another patient sitting in the lobby on their phone. Both receptionists were gone, so we got up and left. This makes me incredibly sad because our dog is our baby. The service was so poor that I can't even explain how frustrating it was to drive all that way, after being specifically called in, only to be completely ignored and receive no communication. The worst part came after we left. As soon as I got home, I called to let them know we were no longer there. The woman on the phone said, and I quote, "Oh yeah, you're waiting at home. We have that on file." I replied, "No, we were already at home. You called us, told us to come in because the doctor was ready to see her, and then nobody spoke to us for over an hour after we arrived." It was awkward because it seemed like she didn't even know we had been sitting there waiting at the clinic. For anyone reading this: if you think your pet is having an emergency but they are not in immediate, life-threatening condition, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else.
