Cons: I think they significantly overcharge - upwards of $250/hr! The leak detection cost $250 - standard industry price according to Bryon the owner - OK, I'll buy that. Having identified the leak, Byron quoted $395 for the repair of a cracked kitchen waste pipe (and this was after a $100 discount since they had done the leak detection). Sean said as the crack was at the level of the foundation this was going to be a difficult job. The reality - it took just 90 minutes to fix and test. Even accounting for parts, that's about $250/hr! When I questioned Byron on this the next day, he thought it was totally reasonable. In fact, he said many times they offer the best value in the business. So if you want to pay upwards of $250/hr for a plumber you know who to call. I learned my lesson, I won't be using All American again. Pros: Came out next day. Sean the tech appears to have done a good job fixing our water leak. To be completely open, Byron did grudgingly offer $100 back on the work, presumably not to post on Yelp. Apologies for the language on the phone Byron, not professional on my part, but IMHO then neither is your pricing. Comments on your feedback Byron: Yes, I did ask about the $250 leak detection fee before the work started, and I accepted your explaination that this was reasonable and allowed the work to continue. I DID NOT complain to Sean the whole time he was undertaking the repair - I thought your quote for the repair was reasonable since you and Sean said it was a difficult job. The time I complained to Sean about the price was after it took him just 90 mins to undertake the repair, and I had been taken for a fool. So, it's TOTALLY INCORRECT to say I tried strong-arming you or Sean to get a better deal while the work was being undertaken. If you were told this you were misled. Yes, I did ask for a faucet to be installed - $100 seemed a fair price. I DID NOT mention or complain about the faucet in my initial review. I agree you said to me you do not charge by the hour, you charge a flat rate. I'm just alerting people, the flat rate was totally inappropriate for the time it took to undertake the repair. Finally, I DID NOT scream at you, I swore at you ONCE at the end of a long and frankly exasperating phone call. I apologized for this in my initial review. It was a dark and stormy night a week ago when I determined that something was really wrong - the laundry room floor was HOT, and I knew it should not have been. I had noticed a warm spot off and on before, but had connected it with keeping the adjacent room warmer during the cold rainy season. The water heater was running constantly that night, though no hot water was being used. I was not charged extra for weekend visits or work. The team referred businesses to me that fit the project. The Environmental and Abatement companies were very responsive and worked to coordinate with Nate and AAP as seamlessly as possible. The final step, both drywall and stucco - they gave me the number of a General Contractor who can do both ! Great. I am a life long renter, living with my elderly Mom in her 1972 vintage house. Last night, as I was taking off my empty toilet paper roll, somehow the roller slipped from my hands and fell into the flush of my toilet and ended up clogging it :(. Today, I was determined to use my MacGyver skills to try and push it down or get that sucker out and so I went out to buy a snake, well that didn't work very well. The only choice left was to call a plumber, but who do I call? A friend recommended All American Plumbing and so I gave them a call, but they were booked solid until Monday. I didn't want to be without the use of a toilet for that long but Amanda, who took my call, proceeded to let me know about the many cancellations they get and took down my information down and I just hoped I would be fortunate enough to hear back from them the next day. To my surprise, I got a call back in less than 30 minutes letting me know they did have a cancellation and that Nate was en route to my place, OMG I felt so fortunate. Nate showed up with a pleasant demeanor and told me he would try to do what he could to help my situation and to not have to buy a new toilet. Unfortunately, he too couldn't maneuver it down with a snake, seems as it was stuck a bit sideways. He did offer to run to Home Depot to buy another tool he thought could grab a hold of it to pull it out, but that didn't work either. Long story short, he mentioned the idea of putting his hand inside to try and pull it out but his hands were a bit too large and so I said I can try it with my smaller hands and VOILA, I was able to grab a hold and pull that sucker out. I recently had two projects completed by All American Plumbing -- a garbage disposal replacement and a bathroom leak repair. Based on my experience, they absolutely deserve a 5-star rating. The garbage disposal replacement was done quickly and professionally, but I want to highlight the bathroom leak fix, which truly impressed me. The first plumber came for an initial inspection. They coordinated with the downstairs unit owner, and a technician from All American Dryout came to inspect their unit. The downstairs owner chose to handle the dryout himself, so a second plumber visited to further assess the leak. A third plumber came to complete the repair in my bathroom -- he even made two trips to Home Depot to get the exact handle needed for my shower faucet. Since the downstairs residents weren't home during the follow-up appointment, All American Plumbing sent plumbers twice more to verify that the issue was resolved. It's been over two weeks since the fix, and I haven't heard a single complaint from downstairs. What's truly impressive -- there was no extra charge despite all the extra effort and visits. Special thanks to Nick, Iain, Ryan, and Elliott -- I may not have gotten everyone's name, but every plumber I met was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. Had a leak underneath the kitchen sink; turned out to be from an "angle stop" in my 30-year-old house. Taylor came right out the morning after I called and replaced it. After a few days, there was a leak further up the line between metal and PVC piping, which was easy to detect as the wall was now open. Again, Taylor came out right away and stopped it. He also fixed an original plumbing defect; the drain pipe from the disposal was actually allowing water, etc., to run towards the disposal instead of away from it! After that we decided to do a complete repipe with copper to prevent further leaks which we were sure were inevitable, considering we had PVC piping. Taylor ended up spending a lot of time fixing up our house, including on Feb. 14! Along with his partner Jeff they finished the repipe ahead of time. They were always ready to patiently explain what was happening and answer questions; I got the impression that is a priority with this company. I learned quite a bit from them and at one point was actually taking notes! We also got a few "extras", including a discount on the 7-8 new braided metal angle stops we had put in along with the repipe. Nice to know that if anyone ever asks if we have PVC in our house, we can now say "Nope!" Great job guys! read more

We had suspected our household water pressure was too high and were concerned this was causing problems with the washing machine. We had heard what sounded like a water hammer and called to have it checked out. Justine and Nico showed up and went to work. They were both highly professional, wearing their Covid PPE and maintained their social distancing as they provided a home inspection of our plumbing system and tried to identify the source of the sounds. They were very friendly, and I noticed how much they seemed to like their jobs and enjoyed explaining things as they went along. Although, of course, we could not recreate the sound or the issue while they were there, they were patient, went through their checks and ruled out the high-water pressure as an issue among other possibilities. No service charge for the time and analyzing the issue. When they left, my wife and I felt much more comfortable we did not have a serious problem, appreciated the inspection of the system, and most importantly, due to the professionalism and great attitude of Justine and Nico, All American Plumbing has two new customers. There are simply not enough stars to give Lance Borgner and his apprentices, Charlie and Cyrus, for the exceptional service they provided. To clarify, their primary task was to snake my shower drain, but what followed quickly escalated beyond their control due to the cast iron plumbing in this 30+ year-old building. Unfortunately, this issue impacted multiple units. Throughout the chaos and the concern shared by both myself and my neighbors, Lance remained calm and composed--though I'm sure he was feeling the pressure as well, he handled it with remarkable professionalism. Without Lance's guidance and the detailed list of contacts and procedures he provided, I would have been lost in navigating the necessary steps to resolve the issue. Once those initial steps were addressed, Lance returned, pinpointed the cause of the problem, and fixed that specific portion of the plumbing. However, the cast iron piping extends further throughout the building, which ultimately falls under the HOA's responsibility. While I can't speak for my neighbors, I am truly grateful for Lance's honest advice and the clarity he provided in helping us move forward. We suspected our hot water line had developed a leak under the slab, so based on yelp reviews alone, we decided to call All American Plumbing and they sent someone out the next business day. Ryan Nash and his assistant Skylar arrived on time, were very professional and helped us to understand all the steps that needed to happen in order to confirm, locate and fix the leak. Once the leak was found, Ryan was great at explaining our options and took all my curve-ball ideas in stride while guiding us to the best solution. Clearly he has done this countless times before! Every situation is different and, luckily, we only needed to reroute a single hot water line through the attic to abandon the leaking pipe completely. No busting through the floor and foundation, just some clean cuts into the wall. On the day of the repair, Ryan and Skylar completed this relatively complex job quickly and with a high level of craftsmanship. Since the job did require cutting holes in the wall, Ryan gave us a recommendation for a drywall repair company, which also did excellent work. I am currently looking to remodel my house and wanted to get the pipes checked before throwing any money away. In the past Ive been scammed from ARS rotor rooter for a $4200 dual sweep cleanout and they quoted me about $16.5k to shoot liners because my pipes were cracked and needed replacing immediately. I got a second opinion from (A.A.P) and would absolutely HIGHLY recommend All American Plumbing.! Mason and Skyler came out and showed me the bore scoping process , reviewed the integrity of the pipe and turned out it was great for its age and would NOT need replacing and just a "hydrojet" cleaning to optimize the plumbing system. So I concurred and had the service done. After seeing the video evidence after the HydroJet I was extremely happy with the services Mason and Skyler provided. Pipes has so much more clearance and found some baby wipes and old oil grease from the previous owners. These dudes saved me a bunch of money with their integrity and high caliber of experience. A few months ago, I had All American Plumbing come out to fix my kitchen sink that was clogged. Byron explained to me one of the reasons I was having this problem was due to a very old garbage disposal. So I decided to bite the bullet and replace my garbage disposal which ended up being much less than was expected. He gave me a great deal on it as well as tightened up some leaky faucets throughout my home. Within just a couple months I've noticed a decrease in my utility bill as far as water goes. The day I decided my efforts had been exhausted and needed to throw in the towel and actually call a professional. Did a little research here in the North County of San Diego and gave Byron a call he was out that same exact day at the exact time he said he would be at my home. Since in the past I have had punctuality issues with business's that have provided in home services before I was very pleased and will be a repeat customer.
