DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! As stated, in previous reviews this is an extremely negligent and untrustworthy company. STAY AWAY!!! I called All Clear Plumbing and Sewer, Inc. at the end of June 2022 to come out and provide an estimate for a sewer lateral repair. The technician (Jeff) came out on 6/30/2022 as expected and provided the estimate, which involved televising the sewer line. While Jeff and the other technician were accessing the sewer in the basement, they unplugged the power cord to my sump pump...AND NEVER RECONNECTED THE SUMP PUMP after their inspection. I only discovered the issue today (7/5/2022) when I went into the basement to do laundry only to discover my basement had been completely flooded. In addition, my washer and dryer unit are now broken which could cost me hundreds to repair or purchase new ones. On the morning of 7/5/2022 I immediately called All Clear to alert them of the issue. All Clear agreed to send out service tech Darrin to inspect the issue. Darrin agreed that this was BS (in his words) and agreed that All Clear should rectify the issue. After several calls to the office, I finally connected with the owner Tom P who attempted to deflect and deny any ownership of the issue from the very beginning. After going back and forth with Tom P, he finally offered to refund me the $125 fee for the estimate. This is not a sufficient outcome compared to the hundreds of dollars in damage created because of All Clear's negligence. I will be contacting the State Attorney General, News Outlets, and BBB regarding this matter. read more

I did not have a good experience with this company. I had to have another plumber come within 3 days of them leaving. They were careless and charged much more than they quoted. A shout out Tom Sr. and Tom Jr. and technician CHRIS R. who helped us with a sewer back up. We've learned that in very established neighborhoods like ours in Glen Ellyn the old tree roots work their way into the sewer line from house to the main sewer. This can cause the sewer to back up. But Chris was able to use 6 inch cutter blades accessing from our external cleanout and trim all the roots. And All Clear will back their rodding work with a 1 year warranty which is reassuring. Thanks again to Tom Sr. for working us into their busy schedule. Much appreciation to Chris R. for being a good guy and tackling our problem in a very efficient and professional manner. I would not recommend All Clear Sewer. I'm a woman and I feel I was taken advantage of. I called with a coupon to "Rod any line for $50" with no expiration date and was told they do not honor coupons anymore. Tommy came out and charged me $100 to tell me I have a clog in an outdoor pvc drain line that can't be rodded. He quoted $2200 to fix it. I paid him the $100 and dug up the area myself only to find that the pipe is 100% in perfect condition. I called him and gave him the opportunity to return and rod it properly, but he said he couldn't guarantee anything. I then took my manual auger and with a lot of effort, I cleared the line myself. Their staff continued to step closer and closer to my 86 year old Father, breathing and speaking directly into his face. Same story as others. Called to take advantage of the $55 power rodding but when they arrived the price was $250 because a 6" cutter was needed - apparently the $55 special is only a 3" cutter that wouldn't clean the line adequately. I was also offered hydrojetting for $500 and a main line replacement for $2,400. I declined both of those but given the circumstances I did just pay the $250 for the rodding. Without question it felt like a bait and switch. Further, Matt did not attempt to clean or remove his shoes as he was coming in and out of the house to check the drainage. I had to clean up a bunch of mud throughout my living room and hallway. I will not be using All Clear again. read more

We used All Clear for power rodding. At the first visit they used 3, 4 and 6 inch cutters to clear the issue. The service was prompt and professional. We were given a quote for additional work to tile in pipes for $2300. 3 weeks later at the second visit we had the same issue with a backup and water seeping in the basement. I called and someone was at the house within 3 hours. After reading other reviews with lower ratings I was concerned about the honesty of the company. The owner, Tom, called me to discuss my concerns. He was a bit rough around the edges but covered the cost of the recall. Chris came out for the recall and was prompt, professional and explained each step. His recommendations were logical and honest. I appreciated this being a newer homeowner, services such as these are often confusing and nobody wants to be taken advantage of. I'm glad I gave them a second chance. I plan to use All Clear again in the future. read more

We had a ValPak offer for a discount on a power-rodding and scope for a clog we thought we have in our downstairs shower. The arrived in the beginning of the 3 hour window they provided for us, which I suppose is the only reason why they could even get a star. Once they arrived they spent over an hour trying to power-rod the pipe outside. He then informed us that the tree roots burst through our sewer pipe and toilet paper was getting stuck on the root causing the blockage. He then was on the phone with his boss for 25 minutes coming up with a price point of what it would cost to get this fixed. They said $7,000-$10,000. This would include ripping up the front yard, tearing down the tree, closing down and ripping up the street and putting in all new pipework. We called the village the next day to see what other options were. They sent someone out immediately, he diagnosed the issue and we had it fixed in a hour (no ripping, tearing or closing down required). I larger power-rodder was required and it cut through the gunk in no time. The price we paid was NO WHERE NEAR $7,000 either. It wasn't even close to $1,000. The plumber didn't even give the correct assessment and was power-rodding in the wrong direction. It seems as though they have inexperienced workers, and are trying to seriously scam you out of your money. The guy even took the screws that held down the drain cover! Called for routine maintenance on our water main and found out we had a significant break. Three stars because the work itself was done satisfactorily and in a timely fashion. I appreciated the speed with which the problem was diagnosed and steps were taken to get permits and start the work right away. However, this company has a MAJOR communications problem (gaps between on site crew and office staff) that leaves a lot to be desired. We vacated the house for a couple days while the work was done because we have a small child and needed indoor plumbing. We were told the work would be done by Friday (it was a Wednesday) so we planned to be away until Friday. First, they gave us a hard time about not paying them right away. We had put a large deposit on a credit card and planned to pay the final balance by check. We weren't staying nearby and we said we'd give them the check the next day when we arrived home. They told us the work was finished, but we came home on Friday morning only to find there was still a giant hole in the ground and a huge piece of equipment still sitting on our property. It was a little galling to be hassled about not being home to pay them, only to find out they weren't even done. Then, even after we were told several times we did not need to be on site while the work was done, we were urgently summoned at least twice back to the house, and again, we were not close by. The second time was basically just to get our final check, which could have waited until the next day. It was five days before they even attempted to cash the check. There was a problem with our bank, and they called us three times in ten minutes to tell us it was an emergency and we needed to call them back. The calls came at 6:30 pm, well after the bank was closed for the day. We assured them we would call the bank first thing in the morning to address the problem and they'd have their money shortly, but even this didn't seem satisfactory. After the way I was treated - and the fact that I'm starting to feel like we got gouged on the price - three stars may be generous. But again, the problem was fixed and is warrantied so if you're willing to put up with the communications challenges then go for it. read more

Also am filing with the mayors office for employees to enter my home without masks. There's also an infant living my home. I can't use the bathroom and the problem wasn't solved. Technicians did not arrive at the scheduled time but I went ahead and rescheduled the following week. They arrived on schedule and did a great job rodding the cleanout drain in spite of it being clogged with a lot of tree roots. All Clear has done this work for me in the past and I have never had a problem with drainage after they rodded. This time was no different. I had an issue with my shower faucet. The temperature wasn't working properly. I decided to call these guys because they were in the area. As I'm not a plumber but know a little, when they came I suggested that it was a good possibility that it was the cartridge. The expert insisted that it wasn't and that the whole thing needed to be replaced. Due to the fact my shower has surround, he told me they would have to cut the wall from the other side and replace the whole thing. Also that after they fix that they don't fix the wall. In all he said the job would be almost 1,200 dollars. I'm glad that I did my own research afterwards. I figured out how to take the cartridge out and replace to see if in fact that wasn't the issue before spending that kind of money. After all said and done I replaced the cartridge with ease and the shower has been working perfectly!!! In all the repair cost me 60 dollars instead of 1,200 and having to do repairs to the damage they would have made from replacing unnecessarily. The guys seemed very friendly but as you can see they are trying to make money instead of helping out customers. Beware!! I had a guy come out and tell me he couldn't get through to the main line. Then another company tell me they would have to tear up the street for 15k to fix the problem. Found these guys in flyer. They were able to get through and I'm so thankful for it. I did take off some stars because I'm 99% sure when I called about the $50 deal there was no mention of extra charges for larger blades so I do feel I was taken advantage of since I ended up paying $350. When I asked how much it would cost yearly for basically the same job I was told a few hundred. The math just doesn't add up. I think they were trying to recoup for the 1 1/2 hrs they were here or they knew I wouldn't care since they saved me thousands. I would recommend maybe getting the terms in writing or something to avoid this. read more

Very similar experience to Sara's. Sounds like a scam. They came out to rod out our drains. They charged us the full price, but told us that we'd have to Hydro-jet it because of tree roots and blockage; but we had to pay for their insufficient service. They took almost two weeks to come back because they rescheduled a few times and then forgot to bring the right material to get the job done. When they finally came back, they said the hydro-jetting wouldn't work and it would cost us $5k to fix all the pipes! And they made us pay the full price of the failed hydro-jetting even though it did nothing. They said the Hydro-jetting would last about a month or so...that's not worth the $600 we paid. All Clear insisted on payment immediately after work is completed. That's a red flag to me that suggests they are hard-pressed for funds. Any company that does not allow time for invoicing should be questioned. Call your local city inspector before going with these guys. They're a joke. read more

We too found this company through a ValPak offer. In Jan, Will came out to power rod a clog that was seeping out on our driveway. He arrived early and worked very hard to get the clog fixed. He told me that we would have to install a new access point which would be very expensive. They guaranteed the work for one year. We decided to wait and see. Last week, the clog returned and I called them to power rod it again. Will came again and spent about two hours trying to get the clog fixed. He said that we really need the access point. We called the village and another plumbing company to compare the price. Both the village manager and the other company agreed with Will's assessment that a new access point was needed. The other company offered us a quote for around the same price and when I explained that we had another quote the rep.. said he could not beat it. So, Will returned - it was a bit of a mess and I wish they could have removed the dirt from our front yard but they did a great job. Will is very respectful, explains (sometimes in too much detail) what he is doing and why. I trusted him so much I asked him to lock up when I had to leave. We had another crew dig up our lawn and place the pipes and they too were great. I think the owner is a bit rough around the edges but he seems to know his stuff. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again. Our work required a permit from the Village and I will say it made me feel better knowing that someone else was going to be checking on the job. I asked the Inspector and he said that they did as good of a job as any. I would really give the company three stars but Will is so great I added one! read more

Upon waking up to a sea of sewer water in my basement this morning I was so relieved when we I found a coupon for a plumber in my area. I thought great after a terrible blizzard and now the flooding I can at least get a discount. So I called this place up so grateful to have found this coupon and a number without any hassle. I had a man pick up who seemed Agitated at my call to begin with. After stating that I needed assistance as soon as possible and that I had seen his number in a coupon his demeanor seemed to get worse. He grew impatience with My now ten second conversation and decided to cut me off and tell me that he was "not honoring" this coupon today because they were just to busy for that. Now I didn't even get a chance to respond before he immediately hung up deciding that he wasn't interested in what I had to say. Had he given me a chance I was simply going to tell him fine I needed the service regardless. I have an elderly mother in law living here and had two guest from out of town, I wanted to get This resolved as soon as possible so I could turn the water back on. My boyfriend called him the second time and he proceeded to get so disrespectful I was at a complete Loss for words. He cussed at us and also said I'm not interested in your business. The entire call we never said anything out of line or remotely disrespectful. First off if your frustrated with your job get a new one I'm just a customer calling for service. Secondly, who raised you? Because I am completely astonished at your vulgar savage behavior and speech. And third learn how to run a business or shut it down. These guys came through to do some work a week or two ago. They pulled the toilet, rodded and then re-set the bowl. During the process, there was a lot of water coming out and pretty much flooding the bathroom, as one might expect, and so they asked for a couple extra towels so they could clean up. No problem, I thought. I threw them a couple towels and rags. Anyway, they did what was left of the job and they were on their way after I paid my due balance. A week or so later, here we are - backed up yet again. I called Tom (the owner) earlier today to ask about a possible guarantee on the work. He was courteous as he was the first time we spoke but communicated that another rod-job would be charged and that they could give me about $25 off at best. We wanted to explore other options first. A friend of the family (a former plumber) is back in the country and so we called him. He came by and lo-and-behold: he rodded and removed a rag from the pipes. I called Tom after the guy left. I told him what had happened. I said there may have been a chance that his guys inadvertently forgot about that rag and that somehow it ended up in the pipes. He then started to speak in a very fast and threatening tone, barely even letting me get a word in. I interrupted at one point to say, "I don't want my money back; I just want an apology." He then said, "There is no apology." He proceeded to proclaim, "My guys ain't that big of an idiot", indirectly calling my family a bunch of morons. When I asked him to clarify what he meant by that in regards to those in my home, he said, "whatever." Having had enough of this pleasant conversation, I hung up on him. What Tom needs to realize is that even if his team didn't do what I suspect they did, all that means is that the job wasn't fully completed when they were here. Had it been done right, that ragged would've been pulled then without us having to wait for someone to get it out tonight. And if they really didn't make the mistake I accused them of making, I apologize and whole-heartedly so. But, again, if that's the case, it seems the job could've been done more efficiently the first time around. These guys showed up! Thats a real plus. They explained the problem, They told me how they were gonna fix the problem. They quoted me what i thought was fair ($250). They had to go all the way up to the 6 inch cutter. They fixed the problem and let me see with the camera. They gave a year warranty. Yeah, they did a good job. I am a returning customer of All Clear and have used them for multiple years at multiple properties. So why the 1 star review? In year's past, I had them come out for power rodding. Their $50 or $55 coupon drew me in. Everyone's experience is different, but for me, the workers were absolutely courteous and professional every time. This year, I was looking for them to do the same thing as in year's past. I called ahead to make sure I can be billed or pay via phone. Like others, I have a job / child / ill grandparent / etc. to take care of and can't be by the phone 24/7. I also mentioned the billing issue that I called ahead on when the worker was at my 1st location (see below). - I had All Clear come out to power rod for the 1st location. No issue. - I had All Clear come out to power rod for the 2nd location. I am not on-site and gave approval over the phone for the initial $55 service (using the coupon) for a 3" cutter and the on-site worker would call me back if there needed additional work after sending the 3" cutter, followed by camera inspection. I had the owner on the phone as well and he threw a little power trip that I need to be by the phone to pick up his call to make IMMEDIATE PAYMENT! I explained that I was at work, but as a returning customer for multiple years, having service done at multiple locations, I would make sure I would make payment before end of business day. I just paid in full for the service done at location #1 the other day. OWNER: NOPE, NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Me: I can squeeze a 15 minute break to make payment before end of business day. OWNER: "This guy is dicking around...find somebody else" I feel bad for the worker's that have to deal with this power trip boss. If this is how you are going to treat a returning customer, I wish I would have known year's earlier and given my business elsewhere. read more

Scammers!! I called this company because I got a coupon in the mall for $55 rodding. the man was very nice and confirmed the coupon and sent two guys out later that afternoon. When they arrived they immediately quoted me $75, I explained about the coupon and that I had already talked to the dispatcher about it and they looked at me like I was lying. They called Simone and got the ok to charge me the$55 as printed on the coupon but were noticeably irritated. They then hung out in my basement for about 5 minutes before coming up and telling me they won't be able to complete the work and I'll need to have all of my pipes replaced, which would cost me "only about 850". I was told they could call some other guy to come do this by calling a different number ....Not associated with the company anywhere I can find. I declined as I do not have that kind of money just lying around. but they still charged me the$55. I was going to call the number when my husband suggested we get another estimate even if we have to pay another two charge. To no surprise, we had a different company come out and complete the work in about 2 hours for $150. I've called every other day for two weeks to get my money back only to be told a supervisor will call me back. without any response I have to assume they are too busy scamming other customers to return my call. read more

This company charges 3-4 times what a reputable company will charge you for the same work, make sure you get 3-4 estimates before hiring anyone. All Clear has no qualms about overcharging and will look you right in the eye and make up "reasons" why it's so expensive. Sad. Don't fall for it. I'm also fairly sure they told us we needed a $1200 repair that we didn't even need. And I found out later the average cost for it was $350 if we even had needed it! Yes, they do have what I would consider fair fees to clear drains ($55) and sewer lines ($85 for basic 3") (2018). It's the rest, the plumbing and any repair work that they try and gouge you on. Please do not call this service. I got baited with the $55 Valpak coupon, and wished I'd never called them. I explained to them all the actions I had taken before they arrived, explaining to them that nothing I used had rectified the problem. They didn't listen to any of it and did exactly what I had done previously. The outcome was the same and they agreed with me and then handed me an invoice for $55 dollars! If I needed someone to agree with me I could have asked my 4 year old son, and he doesn't charge for that. I realized that they are not as knowledgeable as they should be. They left a mess of shoe prints and dirty water stains and requested I pay an additional $1000 to investigate the problem (not to fix but to investigate). I had a bit of a situation with a leak on my basement a company came to remove some mold growing because of a leak from the sink pipe that was not properly glue together before putting it back together a contractor that i hire noticed it was a bit clogged and recommend me to call these guys well HUGE MISTAKE ! so we call this company to use an snake and unclog it they knew before they came that the pipe was not connected when the plumber arrived I showed him to the basement so it will be easier for him to go inside the pipe and they left quite a mess to say the least when I called them about it they literally said that they are not a cleaning company and that I tried to pull a side job on them for asking them how much is going to cost to glue the pipe together and not agreeing to pay $200 and something dollars because they needed to cut the pipe. Talking to the owner was even worse saying that people like us are always trying to pull this kind of stuff and even calling my wife motherfucker when all I wanted is for them to clean the mess they left behind. This is the most unreputable company I have ever had the unfortunate circumstance to deal with. They overcharged for the service and wanted the same additional amount for clearing additional drains that were connected. They prefaced by saying that the connections may leak due to the age of the pea trap. They wanted an additional $125.00 to replace the trap. My husband put the new pea trap in six years ago. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it. But when he put the pipes back together, surprise a huge leak. I told them good bye and I would take care of it. I took it back apart and low and behold there was a gasket missing. I went to Lowe's, purchased the gasket for $1.29 and put the drain back together and surprise - no more leak. Furthermore they did not clear up the problem that I had. Instead my very kind neighbor came over and listened to what I had to say and solved the problem. I would give zero stars, but 1 is the only option. Here are the facts: I called this company a few weeks back to clear a clogged drain based on the ad they had on the Sav on magazine. The plumber went to my house and used scare tactics and tried to hit me up for thousands of dollars. I called the owner, Tom, and tried to complain, but all he did was yell at me, was verbally abusive, and used all types of profanity. I was shocked that this low-life owner would treat a customer in this manner. Furthermore, these guys are notorious for bait and switch and false advertising. I have never been treated in this manner in my life and have also contacted the State's Attorney's office as well the BBB. Please, stay away for this company and see all complaints on Yelp and BBB, there is a pattern of bad service, and abusive customer treatment. At the end, I called a reputable plumber and he cleared my drain for a nominal price and was very professional. There are many good plumbers in the trade, and there is no reason to put up with this. Also, the employees that work for this company are con artists and owner is even worse. Shameful and pathetic company. There are many bad reviews, but seems like Yelp is not listing here, not sure why? all of us who have contributed should be heard. This company is getting away with scam and bad service, yet not visible to all. Not sure how credible Yelp is as they tend to most post good reviews. read more
