Trena McSwain provided me with flawless service throughout my entire prearrangement process. Trena took the burden of the funeral and service arrangements off of my shoulders. I sincerely thank her for this. It was an easy process. Minimal paperwork. A few hours later I had digital copies of the complete arrangement. My tech savvy siblings and friends were able to figure it out in the reception room. They were supposed to be honor Guard there to fold the flag given my father's veteran status. No show! They were paid upfront for original cremation charges. The additional charges for use of the sanctuary and reception room were paid via check from my parents' account. As the executor of the estate, I created electronic access. The bank shut the account down as a fraud precaution which was cleared up in a day. The check to Brings did not clear and was made aware of that the day before I am writing this note. I called them, they said they understood. Today I told them that I would have someone bring another check over. That said, the answer was nope! I gave them an option, I'll give you a credit card, or you take check. If you don't take a check, and opt for credit card, I'll write a review. As a family of reasonable wealth, I was insulted. Don't work with Joesph, the Funeral home director, I put this squarely on his shoulders. These people were unprepared to serve us in the best manner possible. Unfortunately, we are regular customers from back in the 1970's. Between family and extended family we have had nearly a dozen services from them. This was unacceptable and impacted our ability to celebrate my 91-year-old fathers' life. Shame on Joesph for his inattention to my family's request. No leadership!

We set an appointment, but there was confusion on whether we go to the Grant Rd or Randolph location to meet. We called several times before office hours and an Answering Service picked up who repeatedly told us to go to the Randolph location. WRONG: The Randolph location is an industrial area where I suspect they do the cremations. Later, we called at got a hold of the actual office and they confirmed they are on Grant Road. They graciously waited for us to arrive. The location appears like a small strip mall near the Michigan turn on Stone and Grant. They greeted us and took us to a conference room to discuss our needs. There were plenty of options and a very relaxed discussion on the sensitive issues of funerals. The pricing was very reasonable and they were very helpful in discussions about our needs. Specifically, they explained Veteran Services for the Marana Veterans Cemetary. We had no issues, and I would recommend for anyone-JUST DO NOT GO TO THE RANDOLPH location.

First my father, and two days later my mother. Ironically, it was my father who was making arrangements for mom who was terminally ill. The day after my father passed away, I went to the funeral chapel and I was promptly greeted by Liza who escorted me to a room to make my dad's funeral arrangements. She asked if we wanted coffee or water. It's never easy to plan for one funeral, yet alone two. But their staff made it so easy. They are truly so sympathetic with what your going through and they make you feel like your part of their family. What amazed me was their attention to detail and thoroughness. When mom passed away at home, they we're there within 30 minutes after being called. The way my parents looked in the casket, the ease of uploading pictures to be shown on their big screen, the musical cd that I had given them to play, flower and family picture displays. They even took all the flower arrangements after the funeral to my parents home at no cost. The facility is huge and clean with ample parking. I'm sure that the cost for a funeral among the different funeral chapels are pretty much the same. But what stands out with this chapel was their personal touch and their sense of caring. Staff member Liza is truly amazing in what she does, always either texting me or calling to follow up on things. The Martinez family of TJ and Tamye were their to extend their condolences and wanted to make sure that I had, given the circumstances, the best possible service, and I did.

However, as a guest of the services I was struck by how attentive and friendly the staff was. They seemed to have a great attention to detail and were both professional and caring at the same time. I was also impressed with the facilities themselves. They had a nice large reception/waiting area with a front desk that appeared to be manned by at least one member of the staff at all time. Also a small kitchenette with water and coffee available to all (except no coffee for kids as the signage clearly stated). And the chapel itself was lovely but still enough of a blank slate that you could use it comfortably for any type of religious or secular service. It was of an adequate size to easily fit a couple hundred people. I think Martinez is a great option if you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of needing a funeral home in Nogales.
