I am absolutely disgusted by this company. Around 4:00 PM, while exiting St. Mary's Christian School, Lake Cook Road was completely backed up with traffic. I was following the designated parent exit procedure, pulling onto the shoulder that is clearly meant for parents to merge safely. I had my children in the back seat. Out of nowhere, a man driving like a maniac--apparently affiliated with All Family Plumbing--came speeding up behind me trying to bypass stopped traffic and nearly rear-ended my car. Again, my kids were inside. He then aggressively swerved around me at high speed and actually slowed down just to scream profanities, leaning up and down out of his driver's seat like an unhinged person. It was shocking, hostile, and completely unsafe. This was one of the ugliest and most disturbing displays of road rage I have ever witnessed. He put my children's lives in danger and then had the nerve to act enraged because his illegal, reckless driving didn't save him a few seconds. If this is the kind of behavior tolerated or represented by All Family Plumbing employees, I would never recommend this company to anyone. I should have read the Yelp reviews before booking. DO NOT USE. They may have been great at one time but the recent reviews are terrible. They cancelled twice after I waited for hours. Was supposed to get a call 2 days ago to re-reschedule. Never happened. Cannot speak to their work but the office is a giant mess. I had used All Family once before mostly for their proximity, a mile from my house. I set up an appointment for July 16. I rearranged an appointment to meet them at a scheduled time. I got a call saying they were on an emergency and would have to schedule 4 days later. I waited two hours that day. No call. I rescheduled 3 days later. They did not show up at noon or at 4:00pm as they committed to that day. I am 77. In my lifetime, I have never had a poorer business experience. These people should not be in business. DO NOT USE ALL FAMILY PLUMBING!! Terrible service, Terrible customer service and overall terrible company. Here's the situation: My elderly family member called All Family Plumbing to fix a leak in the basement. When I arrived the technician was in the basement, which I scared as I went in the basement to oversee what he was doing. He was using tools and inspecting a completely different area, when I scared him he quickly put his tools back in his pocket. At that point I didn't trust this technician so I watched him the rest of the time. The tech apparently didn't have the basic tools/equipment in his van to do the job and had to go shopping. As I watch him install a 6' flex tube, on the floor of an unfinished basement to a drain, it took him 1.5 hours. He not only didn't fix the leak, but he continued to make comments about me watching him "I feel like I need to be a ninja" and "owning a home is very costly" as I challenged the 1.5hr charge for running a 6' flex tube. I called the owner (John), not to complain about his overcharges, but to inform him of the horrible service his technician provided yet John had no interest in listening to my feedback. Instead John complained "I'm sick and tired of my customers calling to bitch about their bill. It is what it is". He then proceeded to complain about the territory his company covers and that he is sick of dealing with people. He stated that he is "getting ready to retire". I asked him to confirm, repeatedly, that he is a business owner as I would think any owner would want to hear feedback from their customers if they are not receiving quality service. The entire conversation, John was talking over me and yelling/swearing. I asked him to stop and listen to my feedback when he did he then proceeded to actually threaten me by saying "I'll take you out!" then hung up on me. John (THE OWNER OF ALL FAMILY PLUMBING) is unprofessional, offensive and has no business servicing any community!! Do not support this business. read more

I was chased down and experienced road rage from a man in one of their company trucks today. A little research online shows me this is a normal occurrence. Many similar reviews. Please use caution when allowing an individual from this company in your home, they appear unstable. read more

Had water pipe frozen from last nights freezing temperatures. I called this morning and they were able to come out within 30 min. Solved the issue in hr. Price? $180 for labor and $100 for heating water pipe machine. I say it was very very responsible price. They are also local to my area, another plus! Love working with local businesses and get to know them. Shaun and his friend were very knowledgeable and took time to explain the issue. Explaining how they are going to resolve the problem. I called All Family Plumbing late on Thursday and received a callback early Friday morning. I was able to get a service call for Friday morning and Anthony and Pete showed up before 10am. They were very professional, responsive and focused. They replaced a faulty bath faucet and were kind enough to look at a leaking spout in my garage. A nut was tightened and no repair needed. My brother contacted All Family Plumbing for a plumbing issue when he purchased his home. When I wanted a new faucet installed at my home, I called All Family Plumbing based on my brothers recommendation and because they are a local business. Since then, I have only used All Family for my plumbing needs. I have been very happy with their services and reliability. As a homeowner one of my greatest fears was a sewer back up. I had to face this fear and was very blessed to have All Family Plumbing by my side. When Jeremy and Shawn first came to my house they attempted to rod out the sewer line and were unable to get very far through the pipe with the rodder machine or camera. Jeremy mentioned there may be a blockage and with Shawn's assistance they diagnosed the location of the clog/broken pipe under my laundry room. Jeremy and Shawn explained to me they would need to dig up the concrete floor to diagnose the issue with the clogged/broken pipe. Jeremy quoted me a price and said he would try to keep it on the lower end and wanted to work with me to keep the price down since I was a repeat client. Jeremy has a very warm and empathetic way about him that makes me trust his expertise and feel comfortable with his diagnosis. No charge for coming out that day since the problem wasn't fixed. I was greatly surprised and appreciative. The day of the repairs started at about 11:00 AM. Once the floor was opened up they noticed the pipe was worse than they thought and the floor needed to be opened up more. There was about 6 people coming in and out of my house including the owner John. The team worked very well together. John and the crew kept me in the loop during the whole process. They asked me quite a few times to come downstairs so they could show me what was being done. They made sure that once the pipe was repaired it was also clear of tree roots. They worked until 9:00 that night to make sure that I could use the water. I was so very appreciative. The next day Jeremy and his colleague came by to fill in the hole with cement and clean up the area. I was shocked when Jeremy told me the total price since it was on the lower end of the estimate. I thought for sure it was going to be more since the job involved so much of their time and was larger than originally planned. John called me the same day to refer a tile person to replace the tile that were broken up during the repairs. That was really nice of him. He also gave me his cell number. I met Jeremy and Shawn on previous occasions for minor plumbing issues in my house. Jeremy and Shawn seem to work very well with each other and make a great team. We recently had a serious plumbing issue, and initially was referred to a plumbing business out of Round Lake that created a number of additional problems in our house....so, I got smart and reached out to a close friend and was referred to All Family Plumbing in downtown Palatine. John and his crew fixed our issues as quickly as they could have been. They were polite and professional and I would refer them to family or friends without fail. On a side note, the first plumber priced our job at nearly $13,000 - but after All Family Plumbing made a thorough inspection, we learned the job was valued at several thousand dollars less. Had appointment for repair of shower faucet/valve. The water for the entire condo building needed to be turned off so building maintenance had to be schedule as well. Plumber did not show up on time. In fact they did not show up at all. Nor did they call any of the three contacts they had to inform that they would be late or not coming. Cannot comment on the quality of their work as they did not perform any. read more

I have had a terrible experience with this company so far. First and foremost, they do not guaranty their work and do not stand by their work. I had them out to rod out my sewer line and 10 days later it was leaking again. They came out the second time and charged me close to double the cost of the first time because they had to use a camera the second time. I later learned that most companies use the camera every time they rod out a sewer. When I asked for a copy of the video they took they could not produce it because they did not record it. They just showed it to me while they were here. By the end of the repair call, they told me that I had an issue that would require digging 8 feet down and that I would need village approval. The plumbing cost alone was between $5,000-$6000 (this is after they charged me twice for repairs they did not completed). I hired 2 more plumbers that disagreed with this company's analysis. When I called to complain, they did not call me back and did not offer any sort of refund. It was like as soon as I complained they were no longer taking my calls. I am still fighting with them now via email. I feel that I should be refunded at least part of the $1,100 I have paid since the job was still not completed. Please be careful with this company. In any customer service industry when you make a mistake you should at least try to make amends. This company did the opposite. read more

We contacted All Family Plumbing and scheduled a service call for a plumber to come out and take care of a few plumbing issues. They showed up on time and were extremely professional and knowledgeable. After they finished up the repairs in a timely matter they explained the charges to me and I could not have been any happier. The pricing is extremely fair compared to the prior plumbing company I had used in the past. I will be recommending them to all the tenants in the building and the board members for the association. This company came recommended by a friend who has used the company many times before. I had two issues:needing a disposal hooked back up and the main water line under the sink lowered or hooked up a new way after a new sink made it too low. Hot water wasn't lasting in my shower more than 10 minutes. One of the guys from all family came was very polite and arrived early. Scheduling was easy and quick. However he didn't measure anything under the sink (were off by like 4 inches so I'm not sure how he could have predicted what could work or not). What he proposed under the sink was going to leave water sitting in a pipe at all times and having water to travel up which even I know won't work. Then for the water heater all he did was empty the water to look for sediment. Nothing came out so he said I'm better just getting a new one which would be $1100 through the company or he could do it on the side for a little cheaper. He didn't attempt to run any of my faucets, take anything apart or look at the heater in any depth. He did not identify the actual issue or tell me anything was even wrong with it. Just offered to get me a new one and said I'd be better off that way. My dad and uncle can do most basic and maybe a little beyond, plumbing and knew this wasn't right. They had me do a few simple things to test the water, then figured out I'd probably just need a new "dip tube." It cost $12 at home depot and solved the problem. I'm glad I was able to get a second opinion and someone else to come in and investigate before I spent $1100 on a new water heater. read more
