The fridge is several years old but I'd had the compressor replaced less than a year ago. The tech came out and identified that the ice maker needed to be replaced. That's fine, I replaced it myself for $200. The issue I have is that we had left the freezer cracked the night before so the contents were melted a bit. I was clear with the tech that we had left the freezer open and the compressor was fine. We told him this five times. He then decided to test the compressor anyway then tried to tell me the compressor was faulty. It seems it tested properly, but the soft freezer contents were evidence the compressor was out. He then quoted me something like $1,500 to replace it. I told him I wasn't interested since the compressor was still under a 12 month warranty. There was a language barrier, but he seemed to understand what I was saying which is why I was confused why he tested the compressor. He left, and I ordered the replacement ice maker. Later that day, the fridge started humming. Humming loud enough to where sitting in the living room (adjacent to the kitchen) without the TV or anything on was annoying. I contacted the owner who told me explicitly he intended to do nothing to rectify the situation, and that the tech didn't work for him anymore. My only real recourse is to put a review on every site I can think of so that other consumers have more information when they decide to hire someone.

I contacted LG this morning and they agreed to provide the compressor and dryer at no charge. LG sent the authorization e-mail to Masterminds of Appliances this morning. When I followed up with Masterminds of Appliances they refused to order the needed parts unless I paid for them in advance. I was not able to get them to understand LG will supply the parts for free. So we have no path forward to repair our refrigerator. UPDATE: 16 June 1:00 PM Service manager contacted me and assured me he will contact LG to verify the parts can be shipped at no cost to Masterminds of Appliances. The situation appears to be resolved.

The technician showed up, said he needed to order parts and we never heard from them again. They refuse to answer the phone and believe they blocked us after a while. After almost 2 months of trying to make this work, we contacted Lowes who then told us the technician filed a report saying he was unable to do the work because he claimed it was out of warranty. I am sure he got paid by Lowes for the visit, so it sounds like he is either mistaking us for someone else or... Anyway, Lowes said there is nothing we can do until we "make things right" with this company. I just called my credit card company and filed a claim thru them. So, avoid both Lowes service protection and this company. Update: called mrappliance.com who gave me an appointment immediately and repaired the appliance the same day. They are awesome. I will now update my claim with Chase Sapphire to include reimbursement for these repairs. Advice remains: avoid Lowes and all their fly-by-night repair associates.

I made an appointment for my next day off and they came in the window I was given with the parts needed to fix my TV. Raj the repair tech was very knowledgeable and professional, had my TV apart and back together in about an hour with everything working correctly. After checking things out, was told I needed a new chip board for my cooktop. Once the part came in, they came and installed it ($200), +150 for time. Not bad considering a new electric cook top goes for about $800+ It ended up not being the board. It was actually a wire in the power box that partially melted. He quickly cut off the melted wire and cut fresh wires then using a wire nut to tighten. He waved the fee due to it not being the chip board. That was great! I would recommend this shop/company if you have something in need of a repair.
