Option 1 was to pay $50 for his services today, order the part myself, and install it on my own. He then showed me how to easily install the part. Option 2 was that he would order the part, come back when it arrived, and install the part for me. His $50 trip fee today would be included in the 2nd option. James is an honest man. He came to my place the first time to check on my gas dryer. I told him about the sensor that was just replaced by a previous repairman. James ordered spare parts online and advised me that he had to drive downtown to get it. He came back a second time but he was not able to fix the dryer. He suggested that it's not to my best interest to continue repairing the dryer if it would cost more than $200. He did not charge me a single cent on two occasions he came by. My gas dryer has been shutting off/short cycling for a while. A GE technician was out for warranty work on my new fridge and I asked him about the dryer. While he did not look at it, he told me it was probably the motor and just replace it for $400 or buy a new dryer. I've used James/All Katy Service for an appliance repair since moving to the Katy area a couple of years ago. I gave him a call. Without even coming out he gave me advice on what could be the issue. I had already blown out /cleared the duct to the roof, but he recommended one other thing to do. After checking that, I still had the problem. He was able to come by the next day and replaced a sensor that was bad. I would have spent several hundred dollars by buying a new gas dryer. James was a referral from my normal repairman that did not fix microwaves. I called James and left a message, and he promptly returned my call, and asked me to describe the issue and asked me to send him a photo and my information to start a work order. I sent him a photo and a text with my address, and he shortly replied and advised that the parts for the repair would outweigh the purchase cost of a new microwave, and advised that a new one would be my best bet. He was very good at explaining what was wrong in terms that I could understand and said he needed to go purchase the part but could be back to install it the following morning. Hey y'all! You know I hardly ever give five stars. I reserve five stars for above and beyond service and pleasantly surprised . All Katy Service gets 5 stars plus. I bought a used refrigerator two months ago. To my dismay the ice maker and water dispenser did not work. A few days ago I used my AWESOME yelp app to find an appliance repair service. I search by most reviewed. All Katy Service popped up with great reviews and stars. So I called. James the owner answered immediately. He diagnosed my problem and preordered parts. He arrived on time. He looked over the fridge and began taking the actuator apart. He then showed me what was worn out and gave me an estimate, which was very reasonable. And since I was able to give him a serial number over the phone he already had the parts. After installing the new part he check to see if everything worked. He discovered another issue with the ice maker. He had to install a new valve. It was broken as well. He did that and Voila! My fridge works like a charm. But here's the above and beyond. He gave me an estimate and stood by it. Yup! You heard me right yelpers. A service person who stands by their work. After all that he calls me back the next day to make sure everything is working. I explained the problem with my microwave, then texted him a picture and identification tag information on the microwave.
